First time eating borscht. Quite unique and tasty! Cosy little traditional restaurant. Great service. Will be back.

Had a wonderful time there. Went for dinner with friends. Loved the options and were able to taste authentic food. The owner is very lovely and even gave us desserts on the house. Portions were good size as most things weren't as expensive as any other places nearby for the authenticity. Would love to visit again next time when am in Paris. Cheers,

Despite the excellent cuisine, the manager seemed overworked and stressed. This led to a few hiccups in the service, including some delays in getting our drinks and dishes. However, the other staff members were friendly and attentive, which helped to make up for the manager's stress. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and intimate, with warm lighting and soft music playing in the background. The comfortable seating and charming decor added to the overall experience. What sets La Cantine des Tsars apart from other restaurants in Paris is its unique fusion of Russian and French cuisine. This fusion created some truly unique dishes that we couldn't find anywhere else in the city. The attention to detail in each dish's presentation was impressive and added to the dining experience. The only reason we didn't give La Cantine des Tsars a full five stars is due to the manager's stress level. However, the rest of the staff's attentiveness and the exceptional cuisine more than made up for it. In terms of suggestions for improvement, it would be great to see more vegan and gluten-free options on the menu. Also, the restaurant could benefit from having a separate bar area for guests to enjoy a drink before their meal. Overall, we had a memorable experience at La Cantine des Tsars and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a gourmet meal in Paris. Tried the pork pirojkis and vegetarian (mushroom) pirojkis, also the medovic (russian layered cake). Washed down with lemonade, pear or fennel flavored. The food was unpretentious and delicious. Service was quick, and plates removed once done.

**updated: We came back again today and the customer service was terrible. Just wanted a few recommandations for the drink as we loved the one we had last time but the waiter didn’t quite understand so we got the wrong one and wanted to change it after, the lady (owner) was rude and impolite because “the drink is already out, we can’t change it”. I wouldn’t mind paying for another one then, she wouldn’t have to be rude. Moreover, they squeeze all the inside tables together and if you want to get in or out, you have to pull the table all the way out, quite annoying! I’m a big fan of Russian dumplings and the olivier salad. So we came mainly to try those out but got the discovery menu as well. The soup borscht was surprisingly good as normally I don’t really like it, the pelmeni (dumplings) were good also, nice and thin pastry, just prefer it to have a little bit more broth but the olivier salad was quite disappointing and bland 😞

Very cute little restaurant. Had lunch here and it was pretty good. The reason for a 4* review is because I found portions really quite small. Lunch menu is 15€.

As an armenian family we came there and we had the most UNWELCOME cheer. A big table was empty but it seems the woman didnt want us there, we just left. We crossed all paris just to try this restaurant. For sure we ll not go there. Very old style and not for families.

Tiny restaurant with a very old-school Russian vibe, the owner is welcoming enough but has a strong personality. Food is very good and authentic, make sure you try the dumpling assortment and borsch

🌟 Just experienced "Cuisine des Tsars" and I must say, my feelings are a mix of skepticism and excitement! 🤔🎉 The direct but warmly smiling welcome from the owner turned out to be quite delightful. 🤗 The service was pleasant and speedy, making us feel right at home with no frills. 🏡🚀 The decor is typical, a bit on the heavy side, with TV screens showcasing images of Russia. 🇷🇺 The ambiance adds a touch of authenticity, although the TV screens might be a tad much. 📺🏰 As for the dishes, I opted for the Borsh (absolutely delicious!), followed by the Olivier salad (good but nothing extraordinary), and the pork dumplings (really tasty). 🍲😋 Sharing dumplings with a friend, I got to try the chicken ones too, and they stole the show for me. 🥟❤️ Portions might seem a bit small for hearty eaters. In conclusion, "Cuisine des Tsars" is a charming spot - not a gourmet restaurant, but a great place to soak in the vibes of Red Square without boarding a plane. 🌆✈️ Would recommend for a unique experience! 👍👏

Very much like an old soviet restaurant (minus the pictures of the tsar ofc), you have one thing to choose from and thats that. The dumplings are top class, available in: pork, chicken, lamb, potato & cheese and something else vegetarian in french. It's quite a small place, but has a nice vibe. It would be nice to have the menu also in Russian or English, though the owners speak both, so it's not too bad. Expect to pay about 20€ per person.
