👍👍 One of the oldest squares in Paris (16th century), this square has one of the most expensive real estate, and, by the way, Dominique Strauss Kahn lives there (a failed candidate for the presidency of France). And the writer Victor Hugo once lived there, in whose apartment we visited. I must say, he... People often mention park,

One of the most interesting things to see at Place des Vosges in the Le Marais is the equestrian statue of King Louis XIII. The original was created and erected here in 1639. However it was destroyed during the French Revolution near the end of the 18th century. A new marble statue was created by Jean-Pierre Corto and installed here in 1829. What you will see is a depiction of the king in the manner of a Roman emperor riding through a crowd of loyal subjects. He is wearing a cloak and laurel wreath upon his head. His left hand is bent and rests near his chest while his right arm is extended. The horse appears to ride steadily forward. It is a nice equestrian statue and worth paying a few minutes to enjoy if you plan to visit Place de Vosges and enjoy seeing monuments and statues during your travels.

Large square park in the center of Place des Vosges, created in perfect symmetry with a fountain at each corner. In its center, a gigantic statue of Louis XIII, almost lost in the trees, overlooks this garden whose design blends well with the shape of the place. At the end of July, it was sunny and there were a lot of people in the shade. I like this park surrounded by these old buildings full of character.

One of the majestic settings of the capital, the name of Square Louis XIII is the reason that in the center there is an equestrian statue of the King of France. It is pleasant to relax on the lawn and to hear the sound of the fountains in summer. For children aged 3 to 12 years old, it is sad that it is not secured by a specific fence like the sandboxes. There are water points and Wi-Fi.

A historic square park. There are plenty of benches, and of course you can sit on the grass. Right next to the Victor Hugo Memorial.
