What
a
nightmare.
We
booked
two
private
rooms
at
Plug-Inn
months
ago,
and
several
days
before
our
stay,
we
received
an
email
saying
that
“due
to
the
ongoing
sanitary
situation”
they
had
to
move
us
to
3
Ducks
in
another
part
of
the
city.
Then,
yesterday,
I
received
an
email
to
confirm
my
stay
in
a
four
bed
female
dorm
for
Le
Regent
Montmartre,
a
hostel
I
had
not
heard
of
until
this
point.
I
replied
and
pointed
out
that
we
reserved
private
rooms
and
that
my
husband
and
I
could
not
stay
in
an
all-female
dorm
in
any
case.
They
reassured
me
that
this
email
had
been
sent
in
error
and
that
I
could
plan
to
check
into
our
private
rooms
as
planned,
but
at
this
new
location.
When
we
arrived
a
few
minutes
before
midnight,
the
receptionist
asked
us
to
wait
“maybe
five
minutes”
before
he
could
check
us
in.
He
did
not
call
me
to
the
front
of
the
queue
for
forty-five
minutes
after
that,
and
then
spent
over
half
an
hour
attempting
to
check
us
in,
only
to
find
that
the
key
card
activation
machine
would
not
work.
We
continue
to
wait
in
the
lobby
where
no
one
but
us
has
a
face
mask
on,
including
staff.
I
have
already
paid
for
a
night
that
I
am
spending
sitting
awake
with
my
luggage
in
a
muggy
waiting
area.
We
have
non-refundable
tickets
for
the
Louvre
at
10:00
am
that
we
plan
to
forfeit
at
this
point
due
to
sheer
exhaustion
and
not
knowing
when
we
might
get
to
bed.
I
can
say
that
the
receptionist
has
been
very
kind
but
absolutely
no
help.
