(Translated by Google) The Grévin museum is a private wax museum in which wax reproductions of famous people are gathered. The Grévin theater (performance hall) and the Palais des Mirages (attraction using the principle of optical illusion) are also part of the museum visit. The Hall of the Cupola and the Hall of the Columns have very beautiful decorations in the Baroque style dating from 1882. There are over two hundred wax statuettes present in the museum. Regularly, new personalities enter the Grévin Museum according to current events. To see once in a lifetime. (Translated by Google) Very pleasant museum with the look-alikes of celebrities in wax figures, very close to reality according to the characters, for adults as well as for children. Mid-course activities on the theme of "the voice" very popular with teenagers I highly recommend. It is a nice museum to visit in Paris. This wax museum is appropriate for families and has multiple photo opportunities with popular world figures. We found a small queue with around 10 people when we visited on a Saturday evening. At the start of the museum tour, you will be greeted with a unique light & sound show. There are popular wax figures, while about a third of the wax figures are French, hence there is a good chance that you might not know most of them (if you are an international visitor). Pack light, so it will be a comfortable visit.

Good that Macron doesn't know how crowded this place is during the pandemic - otherwise he would probably close this museum.. No distance marker on the floor and so crowded that you cannot move without touching other guests.. Very unsafe feeling during the whole time of our visit.. Avoid this place when it's raining outside! It is completely overcrowded..

We had great fun here. I was able to pay my respects to the Pope, ask for a date with Lady Gaga (she ignored me) and give M. Macron some timely advice. You'll meet some very convincing life like characters in here. Don't stand still for too long though or you might be mistaken for a dummy.

We visited here because of the Go City Pass. The museum is absolutely amazing and interesting. The wax people look so real, and the props are all up to standards and quality. There are different kinds of scenes with various famous people from around the world. It’s good for photo shoots with your family and friends. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Paris and have sufficient time to walk around.

Interesting museum. A Madame Tussaud’s sort of museum. There are some eye catching celebrities represented here. I think it’s worth a visit if you have the time. 4 stars because the place could be a little more well maintained. The building and interior is quite nice otherwise.

Bought the museum pass and tried to hit as many places as possible. But this is definitely one of the best wax museum in terms of variety. If you are in the area, give it a go!

The museum was founded in 1882 by Arthur Meyer, a journalist for Le Gaulois, on the model of Madame Tussauds founded in London in 1835 and named for its first artistic director, caricaturist Alfred Grévin. It is one of the oldest wax museums in Europe. Its baroque architecture includes a hall of mirrors based on the principle of a catoptric cistula in 2018, a young American author, composer, interpreter and designer, Krysle Lip was in charge of the artistic and esthetical transformation of the Hall of Mirrors The hall of mirrors was built for the Exposition Universelle in 1900 It was originally housed in the Palais des mirages designed by Eugène Hénard.

Nicely made with friendly staff. The visual effects should be better maintained and the lighting in the museum needs an update as multiple spots are dark and can’t be seen right. I. E. Jeanne d’Arc. Besides that worth a visit. Go early in the morning to avoid long waiting lines.

Superb! The museum starts with a visual mirror light display (odd) but after that introduction are a whole lot of French celebrities. It then moves through French history and culture. The museum also includes heaps of people that are internationally renown eg. John Lennon, Steve Jobs, politicians etc. so even if you are not familiar with France you’d have a great time. The museum is presented beautifully and there are lots of interactive exhibits eg. Levitating plank, DJ studio, the voice studio, etc. We found the museum was not busy mid week (less than 30 people in the hour and a half we were there) and we could take photos comfortably with any of the exhibits. The wax people are so realistic that at times the museum attendants blend in. The museum could make the name plaques a little bigger as sometimes they were hard to read but I cannot fault them as we had so much fun. Kids under 18 yo pay a cheaper entry, tickets are discounted if purchased 3 days ahead on their website and 15% off coupons can be found in many Paris visitor brochures. Don’t miss it!

It was an enjoyable experience at the Grevin. Make sure to book your tickets online before you get there. The queues were absolutely long, but it moved quite fast. The wax figures were tastefully created, though a majority did lack certain features that gave them the real life look, so to speak. Also a majority of the figures were French. But there were internationally famous figures as well. The figures are categorized into various eras and times as well as other sets. It was interesting. I recommend downloading the Grevin mobile app to help you along the way. All in all a good experience. Try to travel light, if not you could check in your coats and bags at 2Euros an item as well. There is a metrostation right there, so travel is convenient.

Wax museum of Paris more than a century old. We had a complementary entry with our PARIS PASS. The light and sound show at the beginning itself was amazing. Followed by very life like wax statues of celebrities, politicians, Sports stars etc. We spent about an hour here. The staff were very courteous and friendly.

At the beginning, there was show which was amazing and rest of the show was also nice. Interactions could be better and more but in total, i think this place is perfect and have to visit.

Museum - Paris - Tourist attraction In London, there is Madame Tussaud. In Paris, we have Musée Grévin. And you need absolutely to visit it. However, please avoid the public holidays because the queue could be very long. If you are travelling in family, book in advance your family package (2 adults + 2 kids). The closet metro is line 8 and 9, station grand boulevard.

P. S. Die WCs waren echt eklig

My visit to the Grevin Museum today was a mixed experience that left me with both positive and negative impressions. While the museum had its moments, I found it to be less captivating than I had anticipated. The museum offers a variety of stations to explore, starting with the intriguing infinity mirror visual illusion light show. The Red Carpet section was a nice touch, and it was interesting to see a good number of actors in wax form. However, my main concern was that the overall experience lacked a certain level of engagement. I spent around 30 minutes exploring the museum, and that duration seemed sufficient to cover most of what it had to offer. While I appreciate the effort put into creating the wax figures, I couldn't help but feel that the resemblance factor fell short in many cases. Some of the figures, like Monica Bellucci, George Clooney, and Michael Jackson, were quite difficult to identify accurately. Considering the hype and expectations I had prior to my visit, I left the Grevin Museum with a sense of disappointment. It's possible that the museum has been overrated due to its reputation and location. I believe that while it's a nice attraction for a brief visit, it doesn't provide the deep and engaging experience that one might expect from a wax museum of this caliber. In conclusion, the Grevin Museum had its moments, but overall, I found it less interesting than I had hoped. The wax figures lacked consistent resemblance, and the visit felt somewhat rushed. If you're in the area and have a short time to spare, it might be worth a visit, but manage your expectations accordingly.

The light show in beginning was good. However I was expecting little bit more. Maybe more french famous figurines. Also the lighting was poor. I think my expectations will be different if it will be my first visit of this type of museum. For the money it's not worth it.

I believe no wax museum will come close to Madame Tussaud in London, and yet I really enjoyed Le Musée Grévin in Paris. We went at the beginning of the afternoon and there wasn’t a lot of people which was nice when taking photos. There are a lot of statues, mixing French artists and international artists. There was also quite a few interactive activities here and there. The rooms are all divided into themes which I felt were organised and nice to follow. If you like wax museum, I believe this is a good one to add to your list to visit.

My nephew & I visited on New Year's Day. We are from Australia and are non-French speaking so the dramatic performance by the lady in the stairway before the light show could not be understood. A good mix of international & French characters. The mimes placed around the museum were very convincing!

This museum is a blast! The sculptures are very real and you can interact with them without many (or any) interference from the staff. Have fun taking pictures with your favorite Hollywood stars or even with historical personalities such as Einstein and Leonardo DaVinci. The tickets are a bit expensive (20€) but it's totally worth it! It's a nice place to visit with friends and family. This is one of the best museum that I've ever been, like the Ladybug and Chat noir?! Oh my gosh! They were there and I thought that it was just a cartoon but it also represent the paris, so I really really love in here, just because I'm a fan of miraculous ladybug and Chat Noir, I really love you 🐞 🐾

This is a great place to visit. The figures are very realistic. You can take pictures become a star! The ticket cost is a bit steep but don't let that put you off.

Bit crowded, but decent enough for a couple of hours time wasting. Lots of French waxworks, of course, but quite a surprising number of US/other European stars too.

Quite entertaining. There are enough interesting figures that are very naturalistic.

This was a truly surprising museum! There are many French VIPs, but so many international ones as well. We had a great time! The art work is outstanding

I visited the museum in the afternoon and it was 'packed'! If you feel that distancing is important, better wait for the end of covid... I went with two teens who appreciated the museum, lot's of pictures were taken and posted!

It's a good shot at the beginning. And then a lot of French celebrity and then global stars. Little is similarity 🙄.

Some of the wax figures don't look like the originals... staff was rude and screaming at us because we put our arm arnd one when we took a picture... no need to scream you know!

  • 3/5 Mattias Z. 1 year ago on Google
A nice museum, but expect about a third of the wax-celebrities to be French celebrities, so set your expectations accordingly - to non-french visitors, it will not rival a "Madam Tussaud's".

A special thanks to the bright team working at the museum. They're doing an AMAZING job and as a result, my family and I had the best time here. I underestimated how good of an experience it would be because my 4yr old nephew, 9yr old daughter, 16yr old son, 20 & 30 yr old siblings, and 70 yr old parents all loved it! We're back in Dubai now and still thinking of you. TIPS: - The whole place is wheelchair friendly. Just ask the staff for help. - Wear light clothes so you stay cool inside. - There's a little cafe at the exit where you can get some coffee and desserts.

Had to spend around 1,5h with the family. The visit is well organized starting by a small sound and lights show that allows a buffer for the circulation and then going through the different rooms. You will definitely find many of your favorite stars and historical figures. I would recommend avoiding weekends and holidays as Saturday was very crowded when we went.

Please don’t go there thinking that it’s something similar to the Madame Tussauds you can find in London or New York. It’s not, unfortunately. The place is mediocre. The wax figures are really poor: you can tell from afar that they’re fake. It just doesn’t do the trick. The name of the figures are places on the floor, which makes it pretty uncomfortable to identify them if you don’t know them. Last but not least, not all the personnel speaks English, which is weird in a place that is made for tourists.

If you're in paris, this place is a MUST-GO place. We were there at the opening hour, so it wasn't so crowded. But when we went out, it was a line of 3 blocks. A lot of restaurants, patisserie and stores around the Garvin, so you covered by that. Save at least 2-3 hours for this tour. And you need to be with knowledge of the local celebrities and history.

I am from India , visited this Museum yesterday (2.5.2023). The place is worth to visit. Photography is allowed and we can get photos with famous personalities. Toilet facility available. If you buy tickets 3 days in advance you will get 24% discount (19 euros) Otherwise you have to pay 26 euros.

It was too crowded on weekend when we visited it. The wax statues were good but you can feel the touch of statue in it. It wasn’t close to natural people. We used Paris pass to take physical ticket and enter inside it. Can spend 30-40 mins exploring entire museum. For Indians, you will find Shahrukh Khan and Ranbir Singh.

A very enjoyable experience. There are French characters we didn't know. The place is not very big but the museum is nice and exhaustive.

We booked this with a booking website and didn’t know but you do need to go and get proper tickets as the code it gives you isn’t an actual ticket. We found this museum in the best things to do with kids in Paris webpage and the reviews here were so good..… short review - give it a swerve go walk down the river instead that’s way more fun… Long review- it’s ok Firstly we arrived and there was a huge queue I asked someone if this was those with tickets and he said yes. Seemed a bit odd to have to queue in a massive line when we had booked in advance. We were there for 20 mins with no idea why we were even queuing. When we did get to the main entrance it turned out the issue was 2 small bag check machines and gates to go through and it was a massive bottleneck. Second stage was the ticket hall. We didn’t know we had to go back to the desk to change our tickets from the booking site code to small tickets. They required a print out of the screen for some reason and luckily I had brought one with us but she only tapped in the numbers on the paper which she could have done on the screen of my phone just wasted more time in our opinion. Once through there was thought great finally in the museum. Nope another massive queue on some sweeping staircases. It seemed to be the only way in and we weee queuing on here not even sure why we were! We couldn’t see about but someone was talking about the museum and people we waiting to go into a light show. We’d have rather not done this and got on with the rest of the museum but we were again all herded into there. The room was full when we got to the front (typical at this stage in our queueing history here!) and then a woman proceeded to explain about the museum and the light show but it was all in French. I caught some bits that were actually important. As we didn’t know there was a strobing light show they should have translated this information or at lest given other guests who don’t speak French the important bits. Seemed a shame they didn’t cater for this when all over the rest of the museum there was dual languages in announcements and signage. The light show was a large round room full of mirrors and it went dark (when full of people not very pleasant) and there were lights and images and music which was nice. The kids were impressed but it was just good for adults. Finally out of that room we were able to explore the rest of the museum by ourselves. However, it’s housed in a sort of an old style mansion (which is very beautiful) so small doorways and one way entrance so in the end we were still in a queue that was moving and stopping low and again to take photos. We skipped some bits in order to move on. There were a number of local famous people we had no idea about so headed for other rooms. The statues were impressive and the place seems well maintained and there’s always something to look at. The kids loved it when a person they thought was wax came to life! There were famous people from history which was nice and the kids learnt about the French Revolution. We ended up onto really wanting to see ladybug and cat noir the cartoon people so perhaps it wasn’t at all worth it just for that! In the end we spent the same amount of time queuing as we did inside the museum. If you are in Paris for a few days and at a loose end then yes maybe it’s something to do but like us we regret buying tickets in advance as we could have done much more with our precious time than spend it in a queue in an sort of underwhelming place. The entrance system needs a serious overhaul and they could do without that light show room or at least an option not to go in. We won’t be going again and there’s just other more interesting things to do in Paris - live and you learn.
