Staying in the Welcoming Dragon is a real treat! Philip is a host par excellence with an eye for the smallest detail in order to make your stay top notch. Everything is impeccable and the extreme cleanliness of the room and the PRIVATE bathroom rivals or even outperforms the top ranking hotels. International travelers will appreciate his kindness and multilingualism (he has even thought of providing wall plug adapters for all types of international plugs). I am guessing he speaks over seven languages. Japanese travelers will immediately feel at home when he welcomes them in their own language. He has spent over 10 years in Japan. The room is very quiet, the WiFi signal more than perfect and the neighborhood extremely pleasant, and a real treat for the amateurs of Asian cuisine being located in the heart of Parisian Chinatown. Moreover close to the Tolbiac stop of metro line 7, you are in no time in the heart of Paris. I could go on and on, about what will make your stay at the Welcoming Dragon more than perfect not forgetting to mention that for the rate you pay, you will get the quality of a top hotel in Paris but for less than half the price (including a breakfast served to your daily wishes!). There is only thing left for me to say: what are you waiting for to book this place? Do it now!

I stayed at The Welcoming Dragon B&B for nearly 2 weeks and I really enjoyed it there. The place is close to 2 metro lines and there are lots of places to eat cheaply nearby. There is a separate bathroom for guests, so it is quite private. There is free internet WiFi. And the breakfast is great. The best thing though, is that the owner makes everyone feel so welcome, just like part of the family. He gave me plenty of sightseeing tips to enjoy my stay in Paris. I recommend this B&B to anyone who is coming to Paris for a few days or even a few weeks. I found it much nicer than staying in a hotel, and better value too.

The host, Philip is a really great guy. Owing to his kind help and take care, our family enjoyed wonderful time in Paris. Our two children like him very much. This B&B is cozy like home and has a separated rest room and a bed room. Since it provides delicious breakfast including various breads, french baguette and coffee & tea and is very near yummy restaurants and asia market, we had no concern for meals at all. It is very close to two subway stations (Tolbiac (line 7) and Olympiades (line 14)), so that we could reach the downtown of Paris very easily. If our family have another chance to visit to Paris, we'll choose here again without any hesitation.

Philip was a most gracious and helpful host. He gave precise directions to the apartment, which was easy to locate, even before we left for our trip. Even though he was very busy, he went out of his way to help me to get a bottle of champagne for our 25th anniversary celebrations in Paris! The apartment is well located within the Asian quarters and near to Metro stations of Tolbiac and Olympiades. There is a lift in the building and you need to go up a flight of stairs to get to it. The room was clean, nicely furnished and quiet; an attached bathroom, reading lights on the headboard and a study desk were excellent touches. Philip even decorated the bed in the colours of the French flag! Breakfast was great and Philip always asked us what time to serve it and what we wanted (baguettes or croissants). There was good coffee, Philip's homemade pear jam as a special treat, and more than enough servings. Breakfast time was when we socialised with Philip and we had very interesting conversations about languages (he speaks several) and cultures (he has lived in different countries). We had our own set of keys so access was never a problem and nothing was too much trouble for Philip. He showed us the neighbourhood and we felt almost like the local residents.

An excellent B&B. Philip is a friendly and helpful host who does everything to make your stay enjoyable. Breakfast includes your choice of scrumptious fresh French bread, croissant, pain complet, etc. Philip's tour of the nearby market was a highlight, particularly the performance by M. Poulet! Il est très bon.

A funny and friendly host at the heart of Paris. The Welcoming Dragon is situated in a relax neighbourhood, near the metro, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, there is a huge grocery where we picked up most of our essential items. There is also a TGV office around the corner where you can plan your train journeys, it's convenient for backpackers like us. For large luggages, you will have to be ready to carry it up a staircase before you reach an elevator. The room was awesome, clean, and carefully furnished by our host. The bathroom was great, like one those you get from nice hotels. Our sleep was peaceful, quiet and comfortable. Morning breakfasts were excellent, it was not just a breakfast, but a Breakfast fit for the French! We learned so much about Paris during our breakfast and he is always around to give us the morning cheers! If was not mistaken, he was in the tourism sector, so he's like the Wikipedia of Paris :) The Welcoming Dragon is the only home for us in Paris when we return one day in our future travels. Please expect us to be grumpy when it's fully booked!

😠 WARNING for this place. I stayed here in December 2018, and it is the worst experience I have ever had. I have stayed at hostels all over and never have I had any major troubles before. First of all, they would not let me leave my bags there two hours before check-in. In the afternoon I sent them a...

🫤 As far as hostels go this one is barely OK. Conditions are less than sanitary. Bathrooms and toilets are barely acceptable. There is no indication on the main door to indicate the name. You have to guess. No fans or any cooling so summers are really hot. Windows don't help as there is no air circul...
