Jo&Joe’’s was an absolutely wonderful stay! It was very clean and thoughtfully designed. The main floor had live music, a wonderful staff, and an inviting atmosphere to meet new people from all over the world. The bedrooms are really great. I recommend staying on a bottom bunk as you can pull light shades down around your bed and have total privacy and darkness. The facilities (toilets and shower) were immaculate. 100% chance i will be staying here again in the future

Best hostel we’ve stayed at so far! We stayed in a shared dorm, the beds were very clean, with blinds so that you had full privacy when you were in your bed. The room was clean and had blackout blinds and a private changing area. I loved the privacy that the rooms provided. There were also large cupboards that locked to keep your belongings, they were large enough for us to keep our entire suitcase. There was a shared bathroom out in the hall which was cleaned everyday. They also had a really cool kitchen and hangout area with cushions. The kitchen amenities were minimal which is to be expected from a hostel. There was a fridge, microwave and plates and cutlery though. Which was more than enough for us. The staff were super lovely and helpful. I would 100% recommend this to anyone going to Paris. 😊

Awful service!!!!! Upon arrival we were told that check-in is at 3:00 PM, while we had specifically indicated that we would arrive 12:00 PM and would like early check-in. Nevertheless, we did not make this an issue and went for a walk in the beautiful city of Paris. When checking in, the front desk agent then had the great idea to inform us that a credit card is needed to complete the check-in process and that there are no exceptions to this. Mind you, this was not made clear on their website and they did not tell us anything upon arrival. On top of that, everything was paid for in advance. My friend and I are 2 students who do not own a CC and therefore had chosen this so called "youth" hostel that in fact is not "youth" friendly at all. Instead of coming up with a solution for our problem, the front desk agent simply told us that he can not do anything to fix the problem, thus leading me to think that the staff unfortunately has 0 problem solving skills. Furthermore, getting our money back was also not an option. We had to contact our parents who live in a completely different region of the world, who were working, to provide us with a CC. A check-in process that generally takes about max 10 minutes ended up taking us 2 hours because of faulty communication and poor customer service . All by all, if I could give a -1 star review, I would.

Near public transit & the train station· Shopping, restaurants & bars nearby. Good Hospitality. Nice Rooftop, Bar & Restaurant Ambience. Economic, Cleanliness, Security Access, Clean Bathroom & Toilet. Loved my stay. Excellent place in all terms. Clean, modern, fantastic staff, chill out lounge rocks :). As a solo female traveller, I felt very safe. I stayed in the all-female room and was able to make some friends

Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent amenities, decor is beautiful and the place is spotlessly clean. Rooms spacious and privacy curtains on beds, also appreciated the blackout blinds in the room and slept well. Beds are comfortable, you're given sheets that you must make yourself. Location was right by two metro lines so easy to get about. Overall really chill vibes, not overly social atmosphere as its more of a coffee shop/cafe vibe so people tended to keep themselves to themselves. Decent food and drinks available to purchase. The roof terrace upstairs is gorgeous but it was unfortunately unavailable due to a private wedding when we were there.

Amazing hostel, great location with a metro station literally 100 meters away. Beautiful rooftop where you can chill in the evening with a beer or a cocktail. Clean and safe , definitely would recommend it

Haven’t used it as a hostel, but I’ve been going regularly for coworking in their first floor space. Free to use, just need to buy a drink at some point. Really enjoyable atmosphere - bar with regular drinks / coffee and a salad / pizza menu for food. Variable seating, good music, interesting crowd. Staff are professional and sociable. Outlets are sparse, but that’s to be expected in France - they’re as well positioned as they can be, and folks are generally kind about taking turns.

Stayed here for 4 nights and it was a very comfortable stay. Clean beds and washrooms, close proximity to the metro and friendly staff. One small word of caution for future travellers, although the hostel is pretty cool , the area nearby might not be the best so be careful. Went to grocery store nearby and ran into some shady guy asking us money. Thankfully he didn’t pester too much and left us alone.

I loved loved loved this hostel!!! Perfect for digital nomads and every type of traveller! The beds were super comfortable, with a lot of privacy. Bathrooms were also great and clean, never had to wait "for my turn". The staff is super nice, they really make you feel welcomed! I'll definitely return to this place I had such a great time!

Great hostel for a few nights stay in Paris. Situated right around the corner from a train station which makes it very easy to commute into the monuments and museums. Overall very clean space. Our room had black our curtains which were great when a sleep in was needed. Bathrooms equipped with great amenities. Lovely humans at the front desk always helpful and polite.

Staff here are AWESOME!🥰. The location of the hotel is situated close to the Nation metro, where intersects with other metro lines, which is very convenient for travelers to go to other metros in Paris. Inside the hotel, things are cleaned and organized. In the common room, there is one gaming console, many chairs, tables, wall sockets are everywhere, which makes a cozy place for travelers to read, use a computer, and chat. Besides, near the JOE hotels, there are many shops like restaurants, grocery stores, apotek. Life function is good.

The location is next to a metro station and thus convenient. Equipments are new and clean. Shower rooms and toilets are spacious. The bunk beds are pretty user friendly: the lower beds have privacy curtains and the upper beds have high sides made of whole wooden boards. The wifi connection is stable. Besides, there are a few good restaurants and pastry shops nearby (I won’t mention the names here but you can always check out the ones with high scores on google map 😉). I will definitely consider to stay in here again next time I visit Paris.

I was staying for 3 nights and I don’t regret! Everything was great, rooms and bathrooms (first they gave me room that wasn’t prepared but they gave me another room without problem/ bathroom was clean and I was comfortable to have shower there), staff (very sweet and helpful, always smiling and always answered my questions with no problem) access to city (very close is metro station so you can go anywhere, I traveled where I wanted without problems). I had just one problem on very last night - I choose rooms only for girls and on the reception they accidentally send a guy to our room - but when we told the stuff there has been mistake they wanted to solve this problem right away - that was okay, they apologized and everything but what was shocking was behavior of this guy that came into our room, they explain him that mistake has been made and if he can go to the reception to give him key to another room, he was furious and didn’t want to leave, really egoistic person, eventually they convinced him to go with the security guy and solve the problem. But everything else was great and I really enjoyed staying there. If I ever go to Paris again, I will definitely book JO&JOE!

A simple, nice and clean hostel doubling as an events venue in the evening. Location is good and easily reachable by 3 metro lines. The breakfast for 7Eur is an absolute steal- fresh fruit, cheese and hams, amazing pastries and bread. If you're a light sleeper make use of the free earplugs- you can hear the DJ from the first floor rooms which usually finishes around 1am

My wife and I were travelling with our teenage son. The venue exceeded our expectations. The room was clean, the common room accessible for people of all ages and the service was exceptional. The breakfast was good value if you wanted a low-fuss start to the day, but some great bakeries are nearby. The location is very good as we were close to three metro stations, one of them being a significant hub, including being on the line for Disneyland. My 5-star rating doesn't mean this is a 5-star hotel, but the hostel exceeded my expectations. The only problem I had was with the airport pickup service. This was offered through the hostel check-in process but managed by a third party, so this was not something I hold the host accountable for.

Nice reasonably priced place to stay. Kept fairly clean too (except late in the evening 2 of the 3 toilets were not clean, though not a lot staff can do at that time - shame on those that are staying and leave toilets like this). Also - reasonably easy to get to anywhere in the city from here with a bus and metro. 2 things I didn't like - the burnt out pizza from the bottom the evening I arrived. Apparently it was always made like this, which means it is over done in the oven. Not good. (And expect better pizza for the price. Expensive prices). Second - I have stayed in a lot of places and this has the earliest checkout time of 10am - not the best/ideal for me.

Great hostel and hotel!! Stayed in a single room, it was spacious, clean, quiet -- I visit Paris a fair amount for work and this room was 2-3x more affordable than many similar options and honestly a lot nicer. Many of the more affordable hotels in Paris are older and have rooms that are dark and damp, tiny bathrooms, very little space in the room. This is modern, clean, wonderful. For older travelers worried about noise - I stayed here in mid-March and absolutely no noise problems. Bonus for the coffee bar (that turns into a real bar at night) and co-working space downstairs -- I ended up working from this area for a full day. Many people from the neighborhood also seem to work from here, you get a real homey vibrant neighborhood feel. The neighborhood is on the eastern side of town so less touristy but still very legit Paris feel. Also just steps away from two Metro stations that will take you anywhere in town. Will definitely stay here next time!!

Booked for a friend of mine who was travelling to Europe for the first time. They charged extra to keep bags for 3 hours before check in time. Never seen such cheapness from a hostel that charges 50 per night. In fact, ive never seen it from any hostel in any continent. Also, there aren't any lights in the room and they claim this is due to sustainable living goals!

The hostel is like any other Jo&Joe property with good infrastructure of beds, toilets, showers and air conditioning. But the place lacked cleanliness and the front desk girl who checked me in was uninformative as well as rude. Even if I wanted clean towels, there were none clean for rent. I didn't have problems with any other representative though. The bathrooms and showers are communal, not in the room itself. The room with the fridge and projector is full of tiny flies - no ventilation and looks like the garbage is never taken out. The hostel overall, doesnt smell good, which doesnt matter if you're out most of the day unless you're planning to stay indoors. If you absolutely need to stay in Paris (which I recommend skipping except for a Louvre visit), then I suppose this is an organized property for low budget. Their Vienna branch is much better.

It's a great hostel to stay in for several days. The dorms are comfortable, the bathrooms clean, and the people there are fantastic. The vibe is amazing, and the team makes you feel at home. Food and drinks at the bar are really good for a reasonable price. It's a little bit far from downtown but metro stations are close by so you'll not notice it at all. I'll go back for sure!

This place was definitely worth staying at. Wonderful staff, nice food and a awesome aesthetic. They have a beautiful rooftop and nice rooms. If I ever come back to Paris I'm definitely staying here again. They also had a lemon hard seltzer which I very much enjoyed definitely recommend you try it if you ever get the chance.

Really great Hostel. The rooftop bar is excellent for getting to meet people. The staff are all really helpful and friendly. Big shout out to Charlie, who made us feel very welcome and made our stay a 10/10!

The sink areas in the bathroom was almost always dirty and barely any toilet paper available. Hand dryer didn’t work but got fixed quickly when I told them. Staff was nice and attentive. Elevator pretty dirty and rooms had absolutely no storage apart from the lockers. Pizza was good. Had an intruder at night who bothered us a lot, staff treated this person respectful and patient, I liked that. However, the staff didn’t clean the bed of this poor girl afterwards :/. Overall, mixed feeling about this hostel. In the area there was so much street harassing too, but it’s not the hostels fault

I had a fabulous stay here. I was on crunch time travelling around Belgium and Germany. Paris was a last minute decision and happened to find this place. Staff was very nice and professional. Accoomdation was good as well. Clean bathroom and clean rooms. It was a tiny bit hot in the room, but that's a me problem. The rooftop view had good as well. It's right next to M9 and that's really convenient. I will be back again to stay here for my future Paris trip.

Great place for a few night stay! Just steps away from the metro that will take you anywhere in the city. Easy to get too and well marked location. The showers were absolutely incredible after a long day in the city, rainfall shower heads made for a relaxing shower. The bar and food was great as well. The front desk was extremely helpful and welcoming to us as Americans. If I go back to Paris I’ll definitely stay again. Thanks for the great stay ❤️ much love from the USA ✈️

Nothing to say about the staff they're really nice and friendly, the bed are confortable but we stayed 2 nights and they never cleaned the bathrooms I mean hairs in a shower, toothpaste in a sink and s**** in a toilets also fingers prints all over the doors suprising in this covid period when everything should be disinfected also shame that we can't enjoyed the rooftop with our own drinks

(I have not slept at the hostel but) i used jo&joe large lobby as my office today: lively & quiet digital nomad atmosphere, pleasant. Staff is welcoming, pro & enthusiastic. Perfect spot for a few working hours surrounded by a diverse crowd. Warmly recommend!

What a pleasent surprise this hostel was! Super modern, clean. Lively yet quiet at night. The beds are comfy and the lower beds have curtains for privacy. The rooftop is beautiful and perfect for a little yoga in the morning. ❤️ The service team ist super nice, feels almost like hotel service!

The most convenient sleep-box concept in Paris. Affordable, to be said The staffs are every helpful and friendly, of course, they can do English. Each floor has separated restrooms for men and women. It’s clean and well-maintained. Each room has 6 sleep boxes It’s located near the public transport, which made a great advantage. There’s a small problem with my friend, his sleep box got the water dripping from the AC on his bed, and his roommates were a bunch of discourteous drunk girls who got back to her sleep boxes at 2am and laughed loudly as those drunk worms usually do. Luckily, my roommates were very fine, they made no sounds even they went back from the party.

Hey! Location is good. Friendly staff, friendly service Metro & supermarket close by. In house bar, kitchen, common kitchen, lockers & enough seating on ground level and rooftop terrace. Just that the bathroom could use a bit more cleaning after previous guests. Friendly staff, friendly service Thanks!

Found this as one of the top rated hostels in Paris, and I can see why. Friendly and helpful staff, immaculate vibe with the bar downstairs, and all of the amenities are very clean and well kept. Highly recommend this place to anyone.

Location is good, lots of options for food in the area. Definitely recommend the Le 57 bakery around the corner, they are friendly and speak English and food is phenomenal. Metro is super close. Don’t get off at Nation station, get off at the Buzenval, you literally turn left at the corner and you can see the Jo and Joe sign. Staff was nice, we were a little disappointed by the fact that when we read about the hostel that it kept ensuring the staff would be knowledgeable and helpful with all of our questions. But when it came down to it, I’m not sure if it was a language barrier or if they just genuinely didn’t know. Like asking if our countries vaccination code was going to work for a concert venue, we got a “I think it will work” but what I was hoping for was if they didn’t know, maybe they could have called the venue and verified. We also asked about the free city tour, and they were very timid in answering because they didn’t know a lot about it. And the cabs or Ubers from the airport, we were hoping to get help from them in suggestions as to what would be the cheapest and if they could possibly order a cab for us. But they couldn’t give us a clear answer so we ended up googling and finding out ourselves. We loved the aesthetic’s of the hostel. Loved the artwork on the walls, we loved the plywood bedding and tables and chairs. Like who knew plywood could look that good. Everything looked so modern and chill. We really enjoyed that. The pizza was pretty good. All in all pretty clean, however I do wish they would take more care in cleaning the actual toilet seats and bowls, I won’t go into detail about it, but there were still stains when I checked the next day after the bathrooms were “clean” and our private bathroom did smell like urine :(

Fresh hip hostel that's trying to be something but leaves a lot to be desired (at least their first season, July 2021) Pros: budget pricing, fancy functional bunk beds with curtains and lots of lockable storage , lively atmosphere, music and other events, cleanliness Cons: underground kitchen was half finished and only had plates, cutlery (sometimes not even that), fridge and weird 45 second microwaves - no bowls, no cups, no oven, no electric kettle; you are not allowed to take your food or beverages to normal locations like rooftop or first floor; dorm room was super dark and ceiling lights were blocked by bunk beds so you need to use a flashlight to be able to see anything even in daylight; self-check-in doesn't have a point since they need to register your credit card by hand anyway.

  • 5/5 Ryan P. 1 year ago on Google
Well maintained hostel with a good vibe in a cool neighborhood that is close to public transportation. Staff was friendly and helpful. Residents were all nice and respectful. I think you get a slightly older crew here: most people were mid-20s or older, some families, some professionals in Paris for work. The upshot is no one was busting into the room hammered at 3am, which I consider a plus. Would certainly stay here again.

Fantastic place to stay in Paris. One adult (55) and two teenagers. Easy access to Metro. Excellent service. We had to leave early, they fixes breakfast before we left. Helpful personal, smiling. Nice “no nonsense” rooms. If we go to Paris again we will choose Jo&joe Nation again!❤️❤️.
