Let’s start with the positives: location is good, right next to the underground station. There is a supermarket downstairs open 24 hours which is convenient. Breakfast was great and internet was working well. Storage under the beds was ample. Now the not so positives: Rooms are small and overpriced. The bed is comfortable, however, there were bed bugs in my bed. I told reception, they checked, they couldn’t find anything and asked for the bedsheets and duvet cover to be changed. This was appreciated. Showers were small and not working well (I got scalded and I was unable to regulate the temperature). If you want a padlock or renting a towel you have to pay for it. I paid 227€ for 3 nights in a 4-bed dormitory with bed bugs, not a great experience I have to say!

【The response from the hostel team is not acceptable. As they claim their whole team put out the effort to find my stuff and end up found some - that is not true. Initially they put my dirty clothes in a bag and gave it to me when I found out my bed was mistakenly cleared by them, but something were missing in the bag they gave me, and that’s when I ask them to find my missing stuff. Your response neglects the fact that you took away my stuff and caused my stuff gone missing. I didn’t ask for compensation from you that doesn’t mean you didn’t do anything wrong. 】 My stuff was stolen after the hostel staff “mistakenly cleared my bed”. They cleared my bed a day before I check out, when I got back and see my things are gone, I ask front desk to return to me my belongings. My dirty clothes are there, but the slightly valuable stuff was gone. I think we all know who stole my things. Those are not that expensive, so I don’t wanna waste my time arguing with them when I checked out. To anyone who’s even considering staying in this place, good luck.

I had an amazing experience at The People Nation! The staff was friendly and helpful, the comfy bed made for a great night's sleep, and the rooftop restaurant with a view of the Eiffel Tower was a highlight. The convenient location near the metro and a supermarket next door made it even better. I'd definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Paris!

I enjoyed my time at this hostel. The rooms were nice - loved the curtains around the bunks for added privacy. The location was perfect; literally 10 steps to the metro. Bathrooms were clean and the shower was warm. Loved the view from the rooftop bar (pic is from sunset last week at 11:30pm!) however service was lacking. The bar is quite popular and there is no prioritization for hostel guests outside of one table which fills quickly. Would be nice to have more preferred seating! Overall, I would return to stay overnight but probably check out some different rooftops instead.

Wonderful experience here! The beds and linens are amazing, very clean, room with a view of the park! The staff are friendly and very helpful! My only critique was the bathrooms could stand to be cleaned more often, and the showers were very small for me. Awesome rooftop bar with a view of the city at night. Super accessible area even though it’s kind of out of the way. Very easy to take the metro across the street or rent a bike

If you’re on tight budget and just want to sleep I can recommend this hostel for Paris Pros: price is reasonable, commute is really easy as there are 4-5 metro lines intersect at the station 1min walk away, and the curtain on the bunk beds makes it feel like you’re staying in a private room (kinda) Cons: only common area to relax and socialize was the hostel’s restaurant. It’s overpriced and barista don’t know how to prepare the coffee (it was €5 so wow). Lockers and towel are not free. There were just two toilets for men, of all the 10 rooms in the corridor (my room was 8 people)

This is not a youth hostel. Only dorms. No kitchen, no social room except for a restaurant/bar that is more interested in bringing visitors in, than satisfying existing residents. No respect for loyal customers (more than 10 nights there). Elevators are used by external people that are not customers of the hotel. Manager cares only about money, trying to combine cheap bedding and luxury rooftop. I am not sure he even knows where this is going. I received not less than 4 different versions about the place's policies. Add to this a disagreeable and arrogant attitude from this "manager". My advice is do not expect any professionnalism here. This is a fairly new place, with a reputation to build.

love my stay here! a young female solo traveller and I felt completely safe because the hostel was just opposite the metro station and made it super convenient to get to places. I came back at 11pm/close to midnight and felt safe. another plus point is the supermarket right beside the hostel so I could settle my lunch and dinner when on a budget. do note though that this hostel doesn't have a kitchen or social area, and the rooftop bar upstairs is frequented mostly by locals so it was hard to befriend other backpackers. the rooms itself were great. there's a little nook to put your drinks/cosmetics/bathroom essentials, and the bed is rather big. there are 2 charging points as well. do note though that I had the top bunk and felt it was difficult to climb up the rungs at times as the ceiling of each bed cubicle is quite low. also, my rooms smelt great! and I also saw how hardworking the housekeeping staff are. they swept, vacuumed, and mopped. it was quick and efficient! the luggage storage in the room was big, but do bring your own lock. check out time is quite late for most hostels at 12 noon, which I appreciated. bathrooms were fine by me. there were enough cubicles for shower and the toilet, the shower uses a shower head, and there's a little chair in your shower cubicle to place your toiletries. there were hair dryers in the female toilet as well. the bathroom gets a little wet at times but that's to be expected. staff was friendly and spoke English when I first arrived. the bar staff not so much. prices were cheap but still from 10 euros and above, which if you're on a really strict budget, might not be ideal. cons are really just the lack of kitchen and social space, but really for the price and location and friendliness of reception staff, I'll come back here any day :) thank you The People - Paris Nation!

After doing a lot of research on all the hostels in Paris, I chose this hostel for a solo trip. They have the option of girls-only rooms and I enjoyed it. The rooms and bathrooms are modern with fantastic showers. The view from the rooftop of the square and the tour eiffel is the highlight. Breakfast was good but for 5 euro I can get more in a bakery. Right next door there is a supermarket, bakeries, bars and the metro so great location. The only downside was that I could hear some noise from my roommates despite the curtains. But I absolutely recommend it!

This really is one of the better / best hostels I’ve stayed in. It is clean, comfortable and feels very safe and in a pretty good location I’d highly recommend this hostel to any young solo traveller and would stay here again for sure. I’ve stayed in MANY hostels all over Europe- This is easily top 3 based on comfort, cleanliness and overall good vibe. Really good value for money spent. The subway metro station is directly outside the hostel which was a major plus. The rooms are great with a bed and curtain for some extra privacy (this is a simple feature all hostels SHOULD have but sadly many do not!) This one does and it made the stay all the more comfortable. The room was really clean and cozy like I barely felt like anyone else was even in the room with me! The A/C in the room was very cool and great for it being so hot out in the summer. The rooftop bar / restaurant / lounge area was the cherry on top. Very beautiful view of Paris! great place to enjoy some drinks and watch the sun go down over the city while chatting with fellow travellers. 👍🏻👍🏻 This was a great stay! Absolutely would recommend

One of my favourite hostel in paris. The staff was so friendly, The place, bed room and the bathrooms were clean. As well I liked the 24 hours market shop beside the hostel and it really close to the metro station. Keep it up the good work, The People 🙌

Excellent location, helpful staff. Could have more options for breakfast - esp in cereals. Toilets needed to be cleaned more often, given that a whole floor has to share just 2 stalls. everytime I went in them it felt like 100 people were in there before me. Doors slammed really loudly if you just let them go, perhaps could make them have a soft close? Also staircase had a weird aroma, don't know what from.

    - The location was right next to public transportation beside the Nation metro station. However the station has several entrances/exits and you may find the station overwhelming - make sure to locate the neighbouring buildings. - There is a 24/7 grocery store next to the hostel - Great staff who were helpful, nice and welcoming - Stayed in a private so not too sure what a shared room is like but the bed was comfortable, had a view and door window, bathroom was great, room was modern/clean - Did visit my friends shared room, beds seemed equally comfortable and had curtains, good storage to lock belongings and a view. Con: - Hostel rooftop is public access and was not available for spacing a lot of the times - Small elevator - but to be expected in Paris would stay here again!

The view from rooftop and the double room was just amazing! The team is great and always available and it is very well located (the metro entrance is across the street). I really think it'll be a great success. I'll be back soon! Special thanks for the early morning Irish coffee, I appreciate it :p

Had a great stay at this hostel! Reception was nice and check in was quick and easy. Rooms/bathroom were very clean and nice. Nice bed setup too, they had curtains for privacy, two wall sockets, and a ledge to put any belongings on. Great views from the room of the Place de la Nation below. Lovely rooftop bar as well with good food and decent prices. Not many seats in the restaurant so had a small wait but it wasn’t too bad and the staff were very nice. It’s also literally next door to a grocery store and feet away from the metro for easy access to Paris. Felt very safe in the mixed dorm as a solo female traveler, I was placed with mixed genders which I had requested when booking the room. Only downside was the lack of a common room/kitchen. All in all would highly recommend, one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in!

If you travel alone, I highly recommend you to stay here. very nice hostel, just a step from Metro Line. A 24/7 (casino) supermarket is next door. The room, toilet is so clean, so good. Hot water works well. The building, interior keep maintained. The locker for your luggage is big, XL size luggage + additional size, dont forget buy a padlock I will definitely go back here if I visit Paris

Good food served in a very nice ambiance. Cocktails are well balanced. The view from the rooftop is just amazing. The perfect receipt for a night out.

Excellent location. Restaurant has great views but I missed a place where I could just eat something from the Casino market just next to the hostel. Bed is very confortable. Staff was Parisian-kind, but kind enough. Two things that deeply annoyed me though were that the room was very hot (I know it's autumn and its 9ºC outside, but no need to turn the rooms in ovens), and that on checkout day my keycard was disabled exactly an hour before the check-out time stated in the hostel's English website.

Only stayed two nights but it was a great choice! The staff were very friendly, the atmosphere was nice. I will say the showers were very tiny and a little hard to use. The location is great, easy access to the metro as it’s right outside. Overall, the stay was really good.

Such a good place! The staff is sooo friendly, the cocktails were absolutely amazing. I had the Cosmo and it was delicious. The pizza is also very good and not pricey at all! And don’t get me started on the absolutely amazing view the balcony has. Literally amazing. I have never paid attention to the location before till I actually entered and I’m for sure coming back and recommending to my friends.

Perfect hostel for solo female travelers because the beds are super quiet and private, you can stay in all female dorms. Very clean facilities except there was a bit of a damp smell in the hallway. Staff were very nice! Easy check in and out, great spot! It’s nicer than the Belleville location by the same company.

The hostel is very good located and with Metro station in front. Interior is new and well done. Very nice people giving the support you need. Also a locker for the luggage is available (in case you come too early or want to leave your luggage for a while). Very nice view from the terrace and good food.

Pros: Friendly staff, a 24-hour supermarket next door , private bed space Disadvantages: There is no public kitchen or common space (this is very strange for a hostel), only if you order food or drinks on rooftop . You can only rest in your own bed when not yet sleeping, which is very unsuitable for people who do not like when not yet take a shower to touch the bed. Almost only one of the 4 girls' bathroom is in good condition (one is temporarily out of use, one has a ceiling panel falling off, and one has a damaged water valve switch and water will spurt out...) , Both hair dryers are broken. It should be 5 star , but sadly have these issues.

Nice area. Good view. Sharing with 5 others is not my cup of tea, but the reception was very friendly. Rooftop "bar" is hip, too hip for my liking actually. However, it was very cozy during the hours where the sun is breaking dusk, had a cup of tea, that's my cup of tea. I've enjoyed my stay. Cheap and affordable. Clean. Bunk Bed. Thank you for my stay and thank Christ for another review.

I stayed here twice and would definitely stay again! Wonderful location with a supermarket, restaurants and the Nation metro station just 2 mins away. There is a direct bus to here from Paris CDG airport. The dorms are cozy with clean bathrooms and a rooftop restaurant with a pretty amazing view of the city. Breakfast was quite decent for the price as well. Staff was very polite and helpful and also gave me local information when requested. There isn’t much to complain about this hostel, it’s perfect for a solo traveler looking to explore this beautiful city. I look forward to seeing you guys again. Merci !

Good for 4 days but no more unless having a private room. 6 bed rooms are a tad too narrow, and thus blocks the gangway for other guests Showers could do with some more DIY as folks seem to scathe the fittings easily. More cleaning schedules as well as shared facilities like this behoves bit more heed than normal. Everything else was spot on. Bed was comfy, staff were on the ball and engaging. Great spot as well and right next to great transport links.

My first hostel experience and it was absolutely amazing. I booked a 4 person room and felt super comfortable with the room, the bed, the adjustable AC and my respectful roommates! Bathrooms right across the hall, a beautiful terrace upstairs with an Eiffel view, and the friendliest staff! Thanks so much!

  • 4/5 Chi P. 1 year ago on Google
The location is perfect - very close to the Nation stop, where multiple metro lines 1, 2, 6, 9 and RER A run pass. It’s also right next to a 24/7 Casino supermarket, so getting water, fruits and some snacks was convenient. The dorm box comes with a curtain, which is great for security. But the ceiling is low, giving not much space for air. The toilet is not the cleanest unfortunately. Also, bring your own padlock or buy one at the counter for 5€. One big plus is the people at the counter! They’re so lovely and welcoming.

  • 5/5 Marcus H. 10 months ago on Google
Sweet place with friendly staff at the front desk all night and great location. Clean bedding, plenty of showers on each floor, good water pressure, underground parking a 5 min walk away. Bar/cafe on the top floor with a great view of the area. From the patio on the sixth floor you can see the tomb of napoleon, Eiffel Tower, modern downtown, and sarce coeur. I wish they had a map with pins or something to see where all their guests are coming from! It’s a cool place.

  • 5/5 Marina M. 8 months ago on Google
I had a great stay at The People. It’s further away from the city center, but has a great subway station just a few meter away from the hostel making it very easy to get anywhere. The room was nice, the bed was confy and big (a huge plus if you’re tall like me) and we had air conditioning. The bathroom was pretty clean, but it had only two showers working and it could get very busy by the end of the night.

  • 4/5 Erika K. 1 year ago on Google
The hostel itself was great, with clean rooms and toilets. The bed was comfy and it had lots of privacy, which was super. There also was a French balcony in the room with great views. The rooftop breakfast area was nice, with amazing views all the way to the Eiffel Tower. It was nice and quiet during breakfast (if they weren’t still vacuuming and mopping while the breakfast had already started), but completely full anytime later during the day, especially in the evening. In the evening it’s also so loud with the crowds and music, which was a shame because I was really looking forward to work there. But I guess it’s really meant to be a bar anyway. There’s no kitchen or other common areas, so you have to eat proper meals elsewhere. They said bringing pastries etc to the premises is okay, but no takeaway food. The rooftop also seemed to be a place for teenager groups to hang out. I think I’d be great if the rooftop was for the hostel guests only. In this case, I’d definitely 100% recommend the place for anyone and always stay here when in Paris. Breakfast was 7€ and included some fruit, bread, pastries, juice and coffee. Some yogurt, granola, eggs or other source of protein would be a great addition for a fulfilling but still simple breakfast. In the rooms you can hear some noice from the street but that’s normal. Otherwise the hostel was very quiet at night. There’s a metro, large supermarket and lots of restaurants right next to the hostel, which is a big plus! All in all, I’d stay again, but opt to utilize the rooftop in the AM for working and chilling. I felt completely safe in the hostel and it’s surrounding at all times!

I would recommend staying at this place. Stayed at a 4-bed dorm, good and clean bed, with shared toilets and baths. Have luggage storage (but need to have your own lock, or can be bought at the counter). There also have an additional place to store your luggage after you check-out! There is a bar and restaurant at top floor, good place to chill. Although its near a busy street and can get noisy at night. The location is beside a supermarket, bars, restaurants, and a fast food burger king. Train station is 5 minutes walk away.

  • 3/5 Josh M. 6 months ago on Google
Great rooms! Clean, private and secure. The downside is the “common area”. The common area is a rooftop bar/restaurant that is so busy you can hardly ever find a seat which is a bummer. Highly recommend this hostel if all you want is a nice room.

  • 5/5 Fuaad A. 7 months ago on Google
For a hostel the rooms are top quality with good beds and linen. Multiple showers, sink basins n toilets in the shared facilities. The Restaurant on the rooftop has a great morning and sunset view. Drink selection fair. Breakfast for 10€ is good value. It’s a 45 minute train ride to city centre.

It was really cheap and compared to the price, the living wasn't bad. It would be nicer if they had free common area.

Good location and nice roof top but the cleaness is not the maximum the 1st room i checked-in the bed was dirty so I asked to change it , the second one was clean but the room and corridor had a weird dirty smell!

Half an hour to do the check in... the receptionist did everything slow, she took 10 min to do the check in of each person. Can you please train the receptionist or at least add more to the check in?

Loved every minute of my stay! The bed is amazing, very big and comfortable with enough outlets, shelfs, and of course the very amazing curtains! The location is great, right by the metro, there's a market right on the side of the entrance, and the rooftop bar is really cool. The staff were also really great. Would love to go back.

We are a family of 5 and we were very nervous about taking our 3 girls to an inner city backpackers in Paris but the staff were absolutely lovely, welcoming, helpful and kid friendly too. We felt safe, it was very clean in both the rooms and the bathrooms. We loved our visit to Paris and would definitely recommend Les Piaules. Thank you to the staff at Place de la Nation location! Was very last minute booking just for a night, but how surprised I was!!! Its a really cool place with rooftop, very good croissant/baguette and proper coffee in the morning! Beds are comfy, showers and toilets are new, very bright and looks sleek. Really hope they will maintain it this way. Definitely will be back.

A highly recommended hostel. You get what you see from the booking.com photos and descriptions. Location wise. Metro station is right accross the road, bakery and supermarket on both sides, different kinds of restaurants and fastfood chain is just around the corner. Room was comfy and worth the price, common washroom was clean as they have attendants every morning who checks and clean the washroom as well as every room. It even exceeded my expectation of the rooftop cafe. I love their hot chocolate the most ☺️ It has a very cool ambience and relaxing terrace view. Staffs were very accommodating and helpful.

I'm mostly past my hostel dorm days, but nonetheless enjoyed my stay in a 4-bed dorm overall. Comfortable bunk, big storage locker. The bunk ladder in our room was extremely noisy/squeaky. Bathrooms are a bit tight and musty. Wifi was solid. Staff were great. Rooftop bar has a nice view. Not really set up to be a social kind of hostel. Location is excellent for metro access.

Les Piaules is easily assessable through the Paris metro and bus services. All rooms had a Juliet balcony facing onto Nation Boulevard, which was a great place to stand and just take in the view. The rooftop bar had views across Paris including that of the Eiffel tower and was a great place to watch the Eiffel tower light show at night. All of the staff at Les Piaules were extremely welcoming. Specifically, all the staff in the bar and restaurant were incredibly friendly and created a fun and lively atmosphere. The pizza in the rooftop restaurant and bar was also delicious! All of the facilities including the toilets, shower rooms, and beds were clean and hygienic. Overall, I would really recommend a stay at Les Piaules on your next visit to Paris! Thanks to all the staff at Les Piaules a memorable one.

Probably the best hostel in Paris. Nice location right next to the metro, comfortable beds, clean toilets and showers, really welcoming staff and affordable prices, especially taking into account all the good things I listed above. What else I should say is that they have an amazing view from the restaurant terrace on the last floor, it was cool enjoying my breakfasts there

Great place for a great price! The facilities are new and pretty clean, the staff is wonderful, and nothing beats the views of the rooftop bar. The location was also pretty good, and safe to walk at night.

I really enjoyed my trip here! The whole hostel was very clean and modern, the curtains around the beds were a great touch too. Food in the bar is lovely too and the view from the balcony is stunning. It is a great location close to the metro. One of the main problems I had was that there is no guest communal area/ kitchen, so after a long day I either had to go to the bar or to my bed to relax. Therefore it wasn't as easy as other hostels to meet new people. I also found the bar staff weren't very accommodating when I came to eat. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it!

  • 4/5 Annie L. 2 years ago on Google
I had a very pleasant stay at this hostels. Great location and lots of privacy in the rooms due to curtains over the beds. Felt very safe and staff were super friendly. Main downside was the bathroom which had tiny cubicles and smelled really bad all three days I was there.

I went on my first solo trip this summer and I stayed here the whole weekend. I really recommend it to every solo traveller or any young adults. The location is perfect and I really like the shared rooms. There was a curtain by every bed and there were lockers for your luggage. It was an amazing stay!!

  • 5/5 Levon A. 2 years ago on Google
Very friendly staff, clean rooms and toilets. very cost beds, fun bar upstairs with a nice view over the city. Great wifi. Be prepared for a bit noisy nights as some young people party at the weekends and the bar becomes crowded. The prices are significantly higher over the weekends and it’s better to book in advance as they are usually full.

Conveniently located hostel- just across the Metro station and next to a 24/7 superstore with an amazing view over Paris. Being able to easily access the subway made our trip so smooth. The hostel itself is clean and well-maintained. We stayed in the 6 bed female dorm for 5 nights and it was really comfortable. Perfect for visitors who are out during the day and mostly need a safe place to sleep. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Great place to stay for couple of nights in Paris. Nice and calm area with plenty of bars and restaurants around. Metro just in front of the building. 24/7 supermarket and a bar just next door. Friendly staff. Clean, tidy and well maintained rooms and shared bathrooms. Nothing to complain about! At the top floor you can find cool bar with a great view from terrace and reasonable prices as well! Definitely will stay over there again once back in Paris!

I splurged and stayed in a private room with a view. My room was amazing. Clean, fresh, modern. The bed was incredibly comfy and the view was amazing! The staff were very friendly and helpful and I love the concept with the bar on the roof. I love that it's not full of backpackers and locals can come and enjoy a meal and a glass of wine...I don't want priority at all!! It is right next to the Metro and also the 251 bus from the airport comes here. I have stayed in Paris multiple times and this place takes the cake
