There’s always something about the facade of a coffee place that draws you in. This place is no exception, and it looks professional yet friendly at the same time. The barista was excellent in her craft. And here you can get to drink from two different cups and see which one you like more since the cup shape influences the layering of the coffee scents. The seating are is very small, and you don’t expect people to bring their laptop on the table. You’re here to enjoy the coffee!

(Translated by Google) Careful welcome in a decor that is equally so. A mastery of coffee that deserves the detour. Whether it was the filter or the espresso I tasted, I really enjoyed it. Well done. I'll be back ! (Original) Accueil soigné dans un décor qui l'est tout autant. Une maîtrise du café qui mérite le détour. Que ce soit le filtre ou l'expresso que j'ai dégusté, je me suis régalé. Bravo. Je reviendrai !

I sampled 8 to 10 coffee shops in Le Marais, but kept coming back here every day. I don’t think I’d necessarily even call it a coffee shop— it really is a coffee boutique. One comes for the coffee itself, not a caffeine bump or to passively sip while writing. The owner is a master of his craft. Your patience here is rewarded with complex pour overs and creamy flat whites. This place was a revelation.

If you like real coffee this is the place to go. The price is a bit higher, but the quality is so much better. The cappuccino for 5€ was completely worth it. Best coffee I’ve had in a while. Could also recommend getting one of their filter coffees for 7,5€. Lots of choices and great history behind each. This is the place to go for some good coffee!

They gave me a big disappointment. They sent me coffee beans with a roasting date of 1 month. For me, this is stale coffee. The degas time of the coffee should be left to the customer. As a customer, you did not reply to my e-mails. You refused my request to return the coffee. I was very uncomfortable with this process. 3rd wave coffee maker should give importance to customer satisfaction. I will never buy coffee from you again.

What an amazing speciality coffee experience abroad! As a speciality barista coming from Brooklyn I wanted to see what the scene would be like in Paris and how it compared to elsewhere in Europe and in the states and these people know what they’re doing!! This was some of the best, most complex + perfectly balanced coffee I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Not only was I greeted with a cozy & trendy environment, but the baristas were also so friendly and educational and happy to chat despite the language barrier which proved no issue. If you’re looking to explore the true nature of house-roasted beans in espresso & pour overs, this spot is a must and I’ll be thinking about it ever since leaving. ❤️☕️💭 I had to return multiple times in my week long stay just to try as many varieties as I could :-) Special thanks to the two lovely ladies who chatted with me and my boyfriend, and especially the manager who was so kind and made me feel so inspired about coffee!

This coffee place is just amazing! The coffee beans are very good, the roaster is the best in Paris, so definitely take some beans with you for home brewing. The barista is very nice and more than qualified. We’ve been in the shop for over 90minutes talking about coffee. The shop is beautiful and a great space to stay for a bit.

The beans are excellent and often buy when at home. The pour over was great and came with different cups which changed the flavour of the drink

Superb coffee. Choose from 4 roasts for espresso, and 4 for a Kalita pour over. Classic coffee drinks available, try the Cortado and have a seat at the bar. Tiny place, but find a place to sit or stand and enjoy the precision vibe.

A real gem. Great boutique for coffee lovers. Exquisite filter from Panama and smooth flat white (best texture I have had in Paris). A bar where you sit in front of the barista. Not to be missed

I loved their coffee! It was one of my top 3 coffee taste i have ever experienced. I wish I could have one more sip of their coffee. The place is tiny but good to enjoy a cupt of coffee. I definately will visit them again when I come back to Paris

The barista was very professional, friendly, and definitely serious about coffee. I’ve never seen a barista inspect every single beans before. She actually did discard all the defect ones. Brought back a bag of coffee beans, it was phenomenal, roasted to perfection.

Kawa is a great place to have specialty coffee. Today I was waiting in queue for some time as only one person was working but it worth it! I took filter coffee and enjoyed amazing Ethiopia in cups. Unfortunately didn’t have time to try cappuccino but would like to return any try espresso. The barista today was very friendly and spoke good English. I definitely recommend for visiting. Side notes: 1) there is no food (pastries) as I understood 2) there is now WC in the coffee shop. 3) there are many different coffee you can buy for home, also some souvenirs (magazine, t-shirt) and coffee equipment (filters, V60). Will come again!

Laurent really knows what he’s doing. Went here without being sure what to expect and ended up having a full on coffee adventure different from anything I’ve ever experienced. Thank you Laurent, it was a pleasure meeting you and hearing some of your suggestions during my trip to Paris. I wish nothing but the best to your shop, which truly deserves a visit from anyone visiting the city

(Translated by Google) Excellent service, like a coffee masterclass. A selection of exceptional coffees, I tasted the best filtered coffee v60; an anaerobic Panamá geisha with notes of tamarind, lavender and cherry. The barista would explain with very interesting details and explain coffees with impressive details even for a barista. The shop is absolutely beautiful, and the selection of cafes is truly exceptional.

I wasn’t expecting to learn something about coffee in Paris, but the filter coffee comes with 2 tasting cups in different shapes and the shape really changed the taste you experience. I’m reconsidering every coffee tasting I’ve hosted or participated in. Baristas were also nice and chatted with customers, and indulged me in my total surprise from the filter coffee experience

Great comfy shop. Welcoming staff, accommodating. They speak French, English, Russian, German. Not many seats, but they are comfortable. The coffee is good. V60 served. Expresso is done right. The coffee itself is very good, single origen specialty coffee. They offer a range of equipment for sale, I happily bought a Hario Switch. No bathroom, unfortunately.

Very aromatic fresh beans, lots of option and no nonsense. The barista is very accommodating and professional, I love the atmosphere: if you want to sit there enjoy your coffee in peace, she leaves you alone; but if you need additional help, she’s knowledgable and passionate in sharing, respectful of your personal taste, not snobbish at all. Among my recent years of experience, the best experience so far. Other speciality coffees have their strengths as well but this one is the only one I’ll buy across the sea

Had a great V60 coffee (Panama) here, I bought the same beans after trying and even got the recipe. The staff was (especially for French standards) super nice and friendly! And I had the feeling as if they absolutely knew what they were talking about:) The atmosphere was great too, felt like all the customers were included in every chat!

Good coffee, we went here as we use KAWA coffee brand at home. They have a wide selection of packed coffee that we have not seen online, worth visiting! Friendly baristas. They offer water which I like . I wish they have croissant/pain au chocolat to partner with coffee for breakfast.

A must for coffee lovers and fans of hand brew coffee! The staff is incredibly passionate, open and friendly. I had a flat white and came back the next day for a filter coffee. My personal favourite in Marais.

Once you discover this place you will realise that the old adage that you can’t find a decent coffee in Paris no longer stands. If you love specialty coffee do yourself a favour and try one of everything on the menu! I recommend you take a front row seat at the bar and watch the masterful barista.

Imagine you're not from France but love good coffee. Maybe your French isn't great and you're intimidated trying to order. Perhaps you want excellent pour over in Paris? If any of this resonates with you then Kawa is a perfect choice for your coffee needs. Before visiting Paris this time around, I did some research online and the coffee community abroad agrees that Kawa is one of the greats in Paris and I tend to agree. After eleven hours of flying, I had an excellent pour over, served in two different cup shapes, and a barrel aged espresso. All of it was top notch. The staff is lovely and friendly which means a lot to me. I will happily go back again next time I am in Paris and I recommend you do the same.
