Preston should be very lucky to have a beautiful, authentic Italian restaurant like this. Home made pastas melt in your mouth, tasty pizzas and focaccias, great food all around. Excellent atmosphere and impeccable service. The primary woman leading the floor was so wonderful. Highly recommended 👍👍👍👍👍👍

It’s very good. Cut above your usual local Italian. Our party of seven had a great night here. All the food was delicious. The stuffed gnocchi was a highlight. The complimentary bread and olives was much appreciated as well. The service was very good too. Not so sure about the wine list though. It’s a terrific place. We would definitely return.

I cannot get enough of the food at this beautiful restaurant! Not only are the staff friendly and wonderful , the food is amazing !! Every time , it’s constant delicious Italian food , huge portions and very reasonable price !! The staff can’t do enough for you and nothing is an effort or problem for them . The deserts are also amazing ! The atmosphere is so lovely and inviting also !! If could give more then 5 stars ⭐️ I would !! If you haven’t tried this little gem in Preston your missing out !!!

Overall the taste is good but the pasta. Pasta is way too over cooked and soft. Even when it’s fresh, all pasta stuck together and extremely soft. Quite disappointed on it. The sauce is not bad though.

The food was amazing. The pizza was especially delicious. The hostess wasn’t the most welcoming at first. But her attitude seemed to improve.

First time dining at Tonda and they did not disappoint. Our male waiter was such a pleasant guy, wish I had gotten his name down. Food wise, everything was amazing. We ordered the steak, lasagne, funghi pasta, stuffed gnocchi, Bruschetta pizza, roast potatoes and Tiramisu. Everything was excellent, but the star of the show was the Funghi pasta, and this is coming from someone who doesn’t like mushrooms. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely delicious food! On the spur of the moment decided to get take out from here. No table available to eat in. This place was buzzing. Despite being full, staff greeted us at the door, were so welcoming and helpful (thank you Alistair!). We had the Margherita pizza & stuffed gnocchi. Yum! Big fat taste fest in my mouth. Can't wait to go back.

A great Italian dining experience. Our food was perfectly cooked and presented. The Stafani Yarra Valley Sangiovesi was a great match. And service was efficient and friendly.

Honestly best Italian food I've had in a very long time. The fresh homemade pasta is seriously so delicious. Service is so welcoming and warm. You can tell everything is made with so much love. Such a great vibe. Make sure you book in advance because they book out very quickly. Do yourself a favor and get the tiramisu! Yummy! 10/10

By far the best Italian restaurant i have been to. I was blown away by extraordinary the staff were. Fast, efficient, caring, kind and so welcoming. The food was hot, fast, full of flavour and absolutely mouth watering. It had me wanting more and will be back on a regular basis now!!

One of the best Italian places I have ever been too. Food was great, customer service was great and friendly and atmosphere was cosy and homey. Had the following: Polenta chips - tasty, crispy outside and soft inside with a good serving for 2 to 3 people. Also had truffle sauce that comes with it. Garlic and herb focaccia - this was a meal in itself. Flavourful and great soft texture. Truffle Gnocchi - Gnocchi stuff with mushrooms. Gnocchi was soft and crispy and tasty. Truffle sauce was delicious not too over powering. Mushroom pizza - the real Italian pizza that feels like you're in Italy. Full of flavour from the cheese and mushrooms. The base was nice and soft and crunchy at the crust which I loved. Tiramisu - Perfect coffee flavour and sponge and goes down well after a beautiful meal. Customer service was top notch, very attentive and friendly makes you feel at home. Will definitely go back for service and most importantly the food.

Delicious food, great variety of choices on the menu, extremely generous portions and super friendly service! \ Only complaint, which is not an uncommon occurrence when dining out in Melbourne, we were a party of 3, squished on to a table for 2 with an extra chair added on.

We really wanted to like this place and the staff were so lovely but the food was comparable to La Porchetta..and that’s generous. We ate the Moreton Bay Bug pasta and the fungi pasta. The bugs were overcooked (my husband loves them and ate them often when he lived in QLD) and the pasta was not super flavourful. The funghi pasta was not great, way too much garlic, a bit mushy and to be quite frank, just a ridiculously big serving size. The arancini we had for entree was sitting in a really plain tomato sauce and the arancini itself was bland. The staff were soo lovely and the atmosphere was lovely but this was by far the worst Italian food we’ve had in a while and nothing even close to the food we ate in Italy. To say we left disappointed was an understatement. We wish this restaurant nothing but the best as we love seeing our local businesses thrive. Will be keeping an eye on it and perhaps try again in another year or so!

Wow! It was a jam packed Wednesday night. Middle of the week. Every seat full. We were quickly seated for our 6:30pm booking. The service was impeccable! Fast efficient and the food was next level. Super tasty and authentic!

Had the most amazing dining experience here at Tonda. Food was spectacular, delicious with great portions (Stuffed Gnocchi, Spaghetti Marinara and Tiramisu), and the service was outstanding. Cannot believe this little gem is tucked away locally to us in Preston. Cannot wait to return. Highly recommend!

Can't pick a fault with this lovely restaurant. It is not cheap but also not over expensive and is absolutely worth every cent. The food is some of the best Italian I've had in Melbourne and the staff are so friendly. Large group was very smoothly catered for. Great specials which I look forward to sampling again! I thank my daughter for choosing this place for her birthday - I will be back regularly.

Very friendly, the owners came and asked how the food was, and then let us know they were the cook/owner. The food was amazing. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food and drinks. I had Margherita pizza, and the strawberry bliss as my drink. They were superb. It was a busy night and they still gave us plenty of good service and attention. A fun and delicious evening!

Our female waitress was exceptional - intact all staff were so nice. The service was so quick, our food came in 20min and exactly what we had asked for we got. The Moreton bay bug - spaghettini & the crayfish was superb, pizza delicious, chicken Parma & chips spot on and calamari was salty yummyness! Our drinks came in quick and we’re spot on👍 We had no room for dessert unfortunately so we will be back for more👌

Second time dining at this restaurant. Our friend took us here the first time, we ordered pasta and pizza and thoroughly enjoyed it. We recently had my daughters 21st Cocktail Party in the function room. The service was amazing, food and presentation was flawless, the staff were accommodating and nothing could be faulted. Definitely a great place to get your culinary needs met..every meal I’ve ordered, wether pick up, delivered or delivered through Uber eats has been exceptional. Good portion sizes, great prices and you can feel the meals are prepared with love...would not hesitate to recommend!! Delicious!!

Was not happy with the food ! The antipasti was terrible ! Pasta was half okay! Stuffed gnocchi, don’t get this, it’s not what you think.

Had the antipasto, stuffed gnocchi,polenta chips,ragu pasta and deserts and a pizza ( but they ate it before I could take the photo )we fed 6 people comfortably , all food was ready on time and are all guests are happy Thanks Tonda Italian

Order a fantastic seafood platter. Could not have been more happy with the food and service. The seafood was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend Tones Italian restaurant.

Amazing food, excellent customer service

$75 for one beer, one soft drink, one spaghetti and one gnocchi. No sides or dessert. Food was really oily and salty. The spaghetti was kind of gluggy. Wanted pepper and couldn't get any waiters' attention.

After hearing such great reviews on this place I had high expectations for Tonda and was really looking forward to eating there. I had the Moreton bay bug spaghetti which was absolutely flavourless. My son had pizza which was very nice. My wife had chicken Parma and the chips weren’t even cooked. No better than any chicken Parma from most bistros. My daughter had the gnocchi which she enjoyed. Sorry for the bad reviews guys but just really looked forward to coming here and left really disappointed.

Work Christmas lunch. All the dishes looked fabulous. And I had the best gluten free vegan pizza option ever. All served by friendly professional table attendants

I stay across the road and always see this place is packed so I decided to order some pizzas for pickup. I was told they’d be ready at 6:10 but they weren’t ready til about 6:30. The staff were accommodating about that, but not so accomodating when I went back because my Napoletana ended up being a verdure. As my partner was already eating and I didn’t want to wait around for another pizza to be made (plus I didn’t mind the veggies), I asked for some anchovies and olives to be thrown on top. I was met with a bit of resistance from one staff member and ended up receiving four anchovies but no olives. Needless to say, the pizza was okay albeit a bit lacking in salt but the overall experience wasn’t the best.

Excellent and authentic Italian food. They also have a lovely outdoor area out the back which can be closed off with heaters if it gets chilly. The menu is excellent with quality meats, pasta, seafood and ingredients. Good portion sizes and amazingly clean and well done flavours. The Salumi Board for starters is an eye opener and I would highly recommend going from entree through to desserts. Well done to the team at Tonda A+ service, food and atmosphere.

Such a lovely experience. Great Italian place. Food: amazing, tasty, and generous. The pasta itself was a stand out - very well made. Generous serving and full of Italian flavour. The entrees (no pics) were great, we had calamari, bruschetta & arancini. All very well made and full of flavour. The Parma was a decent size, and the toppings were beautifully made. Venue: so good, beautifully decorated. Really gives the Italian vibe. My favourite was the walk way full of planks and cute 2 people tables. Really cool vibe with great staff. Staff where attentive and really lovely. Highly recommend for a great Italian feed.

Simply Fantastic. From entering and being shown our table to meeting Lisa and her staff absolutely a pleasure. Then came the ordering of our meals and drinks and the explanation of the menu and assistance in ordering was a pleasure. The meals were fantastic and a pleasurable evening was had. After filling up on a shared charcuterie platter that stretched the length of the table, I had the risotto pescatore. Simple, fresh ingredients! Spells an excellent way to fill every remaining millimetre of my stomach. Staff were happy and accommodating and made us feel just as welcome and at home as any loving Nonna would. Highly recommend!

Was very excited considering the reviews. Ordered a funghi pizza and a calbrese pizza. The menu described the funghi pizza to have porcini mushrooms, however it had button mushrooms. The calbrese was described as having nduja, however it only had cheap salami. The prices were advertised as $17 per pizza for pickup, was charged $22... In response to your reply: You can post pictures in the reply. Are you telling me I ate nduja and porcini on my pizza and mistook those for salami and button mushrooms? Maybe you do have it in your kitchen, wasn't in my food. How have you rectified the overpayment, are you going to reimburse me?

Funghi pizza did NOT have Porcini mushrooms and the Calabrese did NOT have nduja like the menu describes. Would not recommend getting the pizza from here.

Had such a fantastic time at Tonda on Saturday night. Incredible food using the freshest seafood, great steaks and antipasto platters, and the deserts were to die for, blood orange gelato, and a perfect tiramisu. All matched by the warm service of Lisa and Frank, you feel like you're part of the family!

Great atmosphere, very homely, amazing food & wonderful and friendly staff. Good variety in menu with homemade pasta topping it off!!!! Definitely need to begin your dining experience with the antipasto platter or if you love dessert, then go for the dessert platter instead!

Our first time at Tonda Italian with our bestie Lisa. Wow, what an amazing restaurant. The atmosphere, service and food was delizioso. Lisa (owner) was so accomodating with my ever so fussy ways. I thoroughly enjoyed The homemade bread, garlic & cheese focaccia and my Patatosa pizza with Ham. To finish off to cleanse the palate I had delightful Lemon Gelato. Looking forward to returning many times for great hospitality and exceptional food. ❤️❤️❤️

OMG just had one of the Best experiences for a Christmas party at Tonda . The staff were attentive to our party of 20+ honoring dietary requirements without having them miss out. The back area was just delightfully decorated and the food was Amazing !!!! From gigantic salumeria/antipasto boards to delicious pasta and finishing off with scrumptious bombolone. Cannot recommend this place enough . Thank You Liza and Bec for creating such a Great vibe and working with such Ease and in such a short amount of time. You really did make it Special.
