Absolutely fantastic afternoon sampling some amazing US whiskey. Terrific service from friendly very knowledgeable staff. Great vibe. Snacks were excellent (especially the warm chorizo). Will definitely be back again soon

My mate TJ brought me here and WOW! As a novice whisky drinker this place is exceptional. The Whisky and bourbon was delightful. What a great way to ease into the weekend.

Walk in customer on a Saturday night, very happy with our experience here. Unlike a lot of bars, the drinks come out very fast which I love. Most drams of whisky start from $11 and their selection is impressive, especially Aussie whisky. Plenty of Japanese, Scotch and new world options on offer. Love the size of the place too, small and cozy.

Staff was amazing and good choice for recommendation. Even good mood and light also fantastic .. all good defiantly i will be come back soon!! And a lot of whisky Music also perfect as well.

Hands down the best whisky bar in Melbourne. You can get almost any bottle here; drinks done by shot and most drinks can also be done as a half-shot. Highball flavors are seasonal. Occasionally, whisky flights are available to taste if you’re undecided.

Went with my friends to The Elysian Whisky Bar as it was recommended by other friends. Honestly one of my favourite whisky bars in Melbourne. The staff are so welcoming and are so knowledgeable so you will get an amazing experience visiting this place. There is huge range of whiskies to try or grab a whisky cocktails. If you are a whisky lover, I cannot stress enough how quickly you should check this place out.

Friendly knowledgeable bartenders here at Elysian, asked for something peated from Islay but with a bit of a twist, he picked "Elements of Islay" which was perfect and enjoyable! A cozy 60s whisky bar with a vast range of whisky! Will definitely be back and try their smoke meat with a smoked whisky!

Had an incredible evening in Fitzroy led off with the Elysian Whisky Bar. Great selection of all varieties of Whisky and limited edition bourbons as well. Their prices were beyond fair and the cocktails were delightful and made with flair. Limited snack menu that provided just the right balance to cut the whisky tastings. Can't wait to come back again.

The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable, genuinely interested in helping me make the most of my sampler by complementing and extending my palate. Reasonable prices too. Not cheap by any means but reasonable. I will definitely be going back soon.

Enjoyable night of whisky. First up; Batch 7 of GlenAllachie’s 10yo Cask Strength expression. Good but if compared to batch 3 which I normally consume, the impact of the Sherry is slightly muted. Still a very good dram. Next was the Melbourne based Starward Distillery’s “Tawny #2” expression. Again a delightful dram. Well balanced influence from the wood and the sweet Australian tawny port. It’s quite a young whisky though and hence somewhat lacks complexity. Still highly enjoyable. Third single malt up for the night was my favourite. A single Sherry butt bottling of peated Bunnahabhain. This expression was bottled for The Elysian (along with 2 other bars) by Carn Mor. A lighter Sherry influence than OB Bunnahabhain expressions ensures the peat takes equal prominence. Well balanced and most enjoyable. Owner was behind the bar and gave excellent suggestions for the 2nd and 3rd pour. Friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Can’t really ask for more. Can highly recommend this bar. 5 star rating for “food” of course means 5 stars for their whisky selection available. 😊 @whiskydev

One of best whisky bar in Melbourne, I always come to visit. The owners are cool and down to chat and they have an amazing selection of whisky!

I have walked passed this place a few times and finally had the chance to visit them earlier this week. Great atmosphere with knowledgeable hosts. They have a wide range of whiskies from different parts of the world, and a lot of them are limited editions/production. Definitely recommended and I will try to be here often.

Melbourne is blessed to be the home to almost all of Australia’s world class whisky bars. Elysian is undoubtedly one of them - not in terms of size but due to their great curated selection of whiskies. The owners are masters behind the bar- Kelvin and Yao have unequalled knowledge of whisky and also have elevated whisky cocktails to an art. I go to sample rare independent whiskies that they import but I enjoy watching the artistry and precision of their cocktail making. I have always drunk whisky straight but after watching I was persuaded to have my first old fashioned and highball at Elysian 4 years ago and since then I have tried others at numerous bars around the world and none have matched theirs.

Ended up in Elysian for the last stop in our pub crawl. Kelvin and Yao is very knowledgeable with their whiskey and down to earth at the same time. They have a good collection and is more than happy to share their thoughts behind each drop. Love it an definitely will be back. It’s not a big place but it’s cosy and if you find a seat; hold on to it and enjoy your whisky.

Amazing bar! We (a group of 6) had a really fun evening at this bar. We sat outside as it was a nice chill evening. Inside it also looked really cool. The Ambiente and the service is nice. The guys who worked in the service really now their stuff about drinks and lucky for me had some nice whiskey recommendations which fitted for me and my friends perfectly. When I’m in town again I’ll definitely come again 🙏🏾

Very friendly and patient service. It's never been this easy to try out whiskeys of different tastes and locations. Cocktails were also great. Loved the Espresslo Martini!

Anyone who hasn’t given this plus 5 stars is a bum. I love this place. It’s fancy yet not pretentious. They greet you most courteously and professionally yet at the same time relaxed and not stuffy. They have super fancy cocktails which are experimental and reward adventurous curiosities but also when I’m feeling basic a yummy seasonable highball is also available. If I wasn’t back at school on a PhD scholarship and supporting MY WIFE and our 2 toddlers I’d be blowing more money here and having a jolly old time. Thanks for being an epic institution. One day I’ll return here for a casual dram if school and my wallet permits it.

This is one of my favourite whiskey bars. A cozy and friendly atmosphere and the people working there know their stuff. And the variety and number of whiskeys in stock is mindblowing. It will take a few decades to go through it all. It's a tough job but someone has to do it. 😋

Fabulous. My wife and I went there to celebrate her birthday and were not disappointed. We have fond memories, you see, of whisky sours and jazz in Kyoto a few years ago. And nothing here in Australia has come close. Enter The Elysian Whisky Bar Oh my, oh my. A wonderful whisky sour. A fabulous whisky highball. We were transported, momentarily. They have a massive selection of boutique and hard-to-find whisky which would be great to sample at some stage. The prices were high but you need to pay for quality every now and again. The place itself was small, but nice, and quiet. Low jazz in the background. Really quite wonderful. Would go back in a heartbeat

Beautiful bar, with amazing rare and interesting whisky on offer, plus usual staples, all at good prices. Lovely atmosphere, well deserving of the best whisky bar in Australia. Cocktails also very good. Very knowledgeable staff and very friendly service. Highly recommended for anyone interested in whisky or looking to try some rarer drams. Will be back!
