Scallop with mushrooms over Mexican style risotto was the star dish. Scallops tasted great, the mushrooms were well prepared, the rice was full of flavor. Octopus was thick, well cooked, and well seasoned. Way above average. Enchiladas were traditional and good but could the green sauce could have had more pizzazz. Guacamole was ok. Plantain chips with guacamole is a great combination but their guacamole was more visually appealing than flavorful/fresh. The plantain chips were not as crispy as I would have hoped. Overall, the food was great, just maybe skip the guac. The atmosphere was great and service was friendly. Drinks were spectacular, maracuya with mezcal was my favorite. The mariachis put on a great show and were very vibrant. Definitely a great place to celebrate or just a great escape from the norm for some lively weekend festivities

My family frequents this restaurant that serves elevated and modern Mexican fare. The food is always amazing and the service top notch. The cocktails are refreshing especially the Moracuya. They offer multiple appetizers. Though the grilled octopus and oysters are delicious, the calamari and queso fundido are our favorites. The sesame salad is light and shareable, the tacos ahogados and seared scallops are a must try. The birria plate and burritas are rich but not too spicy. The tres leches carrot cake and guava cheesecake are the best finish of our dinners here. If you happen to be in Pasadena, this is one of the 5 places I would recommend.

Came on a Friday night in a group of 4 and we were seated outdoor! We started with two appetizers and a few drinks, and I've gotta say, the appetizer portions were bigger than we thought. So we ended up only ordering two main courses and a dessert to share! What we ordered: 1. shrimp and octopus ceviche: refreshing but probably needed more acidity, it lacked flavor 2. Grilled octopus 3. Arracherra (medium rare): I enjoyed the plate. 4. Mole confit 5. Tres Leches carrot cake -So Bomb!!! The biggest complaint would be their online reservation system, make sure to ask for indoor seating when you do the reso (the new online system will automatically put the reservations to outdoor seating) And even though they had heaters on, it was still very cold! However, the service was on point. A big shout out to our female server, who was attentive and sweet. She knew that we were there for a bday celebration, so she included 4 complimentary glasses of champagne for the group to enjoy with the dessert Overall, we enjoyed our visit!

Everything here was delicious and service is exceptional. The lamb shank is out of this world. So was the chocolate cake.

Great upscale Mexican restaurant with possibly one of the best scallops I had this year. It came with huitlacoche rice and mushroom that was perfectly seasoned and tasted well with the scallops. Ceviche is a large portion with very fresh ingredients and lots of liquid sauce(?) around it, which made it a great starter for big group. Arrachera was also memorable with perfectly marinated skirt steak and amazingly fresh side salad. They also offer great vegetarian options, such as Tetela and Tamal poblano, as well as amazing Cocktail options. The only down side is the indoor acoustics, it is quite loud with all the (excited) chats, perhaps outdoor will be better with Mariachi playing in the background. A must place to visit!

A Mexican restaurant serving delicious dishes and specializes in Mezcal and Tequila cocktails. ::Drinks:: Their cocktail menu is impressive! They have several unique and refreshing drinks to choose from. I would come back here just for the drinks. It's very tempting to try every cocktail on the menu!! If you like the smokey Mezcal taste then you will enjoy the Guayabita. It has asperol, guava, and lime. The La Fresca has tequila blanco, kalani coconut liquor, strawberry coconut milk, and lime. It's served with a big rock (ice cube). La Morita was a bit too strong and spicy for me. My favorite is the Tamarindo Margarita!! ::Food:: For appetizers, we got the Guacamole & fried plantains which were so addicting! The Calamari was mixed with roasted bell peppers purée, paprika, chive oil, and arbol chilies. I would have preferred it to be more breaded and crisp. The Carne En Su Jugo is a tender and flavorful braised short rib with bacon lardon, frijoles, and came with tortillas. We also liked the Mole Confit which is chicken with potatoes, avocado purée, queso fresco, and jasmine rice. The sauce on the chicken was savory. ::Desserts:: The Tres Leches Carrot Cake was sweet, moist, and filled with spice. Maybe I was too full to appreciate the cake but it seemed like a regular carrot cake to me. ::Safety:: -Staff wears masks -Mask Required ::Highlight:: -Vanessa and Ivan Fabian were friendly, observant, and accommodating. -John & Vaughn specializes in creating tasty and unique cocktails. Their fun and positive vibes are entertaining. -The staff is welcoming and attentive. -One of the cocktails was too spicy, they happily got me something else. ::M's Notes:: -Indoor & Outdoor Seating -Parking: Garage, Lot & Street -Delivery & Takeout

Absolutely delicious. Self proclaimed foodie here. Cocktails were so on point, beautifully garnished. Server (Zack) was so very attentive and knowledgeable. Had a (can’t remember the name) wrapped tortilla bean appetizer, Mole, tres leches carrot cake, and (off the menu) Liquor 43 dessert cocktail. Soooo excited to come back with just about anyone.

I’m giving two stars because of the perceived ambience and what could be a really cool experience UNTIL you realize you’re in a back alleyway being served way overpriced food that you then later have to go get fast food because you’re still starving. The live music and dancing was nice but not enough to make up for the skimpy portions and lack luster dishes.

Walked in at 5pm on a Thurs evening, no reservations. Offered us a table w a 1.5 hr turn as they had a res expected at 6:30. No prob, appreciated that. Good, attentive service. Had the lengua special and ceviche. Both yummy but nothing I’d call mind blowing. BF not a lengua or “mystery meat” guy but he was able to eat the lengua so that should speak volumes. He loved the ceviche but I found it just OK. My drink was fine, was hoping for more smoke, more spice. Glad we came but I cant see us returning or craving the food unfortunately!

While venturing in the city of Pasadena someone recommended to have dinner at this place. And we were pleasingly delighted with the Mezcal cocktails and a delicious dinner 🍽 😋 I can't wait to go back and try some other options.

I drive/walk by this restaurant all the time, I finally tried it. It was delicious! Seafood appetizers were delicious, main course meals are good portions, and drinks were on point. The ambiance was lovely, they had a gentleman playing acoustic guitar playing covering the jams from red hot chili peppers to Spanish music. His voice was 🥰😍🤩.

We really enjoyed the food here. The esquites were probably the best I've ever had, and the bone marrow is a fun touch. Drinks are creative and very good. The service was very friendly and attentive. The place is very cute, but the acoustics are just awful, and the noise level was deafening. It honestly made it difficult to converse and enjoy the meal. My wife ordered a diet coke, and requested a refill. We were charged $8 for a fountain diet coke ( 2x $4 ), which is ridiculous. Server never mentioned they charged for refills, but it's just tacky to charge so much. Ultimately, the food would get me to return, but take-out might be the way to go.

Just an excellent experience all around. The atmosphere was a tad loud but I’m really reaching to find a flaw. Food and service were both impeccable and cocktails were awesome too. Special shout out to best carrot cake ever.

Our server, Max was awesome! Answered all of our questions. Was patient and attentive. The beet salad was AMAZING 👏 Carne en sus jugos... AMAZING!! Birria-Delicious. All the tacos- Great! Calamari-Good stuff! The OCTOPUS!!AMAZING!!! Cooked perfectly, seasoned well, everything in the bowl complimented the octopus. Definitely give this place a try! Also, try the piñacolada. Scientifically prepared for our enjoyment! Soooo good!! The reason for the 4/5 stars, my plantain chips were burnt and the mole dish lacked the mole taste and any other taste; it was too spicy.

Varied menu, with every selection being well-prepared, well-plated, and delicious. The bartender has always been particularly personable, knowledgeable, and helpful. My favorite attraction is the spicy sangrita served with tequila shots (upon request).

Solid spot for upscale Mexican food. Cocktails are excellent with the house margarita pretty irresistible. Tequila selection is top shelf with many excellent and rare bottles on offer. Service was attentive. Atmosphere is attractive and charming. Seating very comfortable. Would definitely return.

My family and I had a wonderful experience trying Maestro for the first time tonight. We had a reservation and they sat us outside, which wasn't optimal, but the weather cooperated. The appetizer servings were not shareable but we strongly recommend the oysters with aguachile. Not spicy at all. Tortillas cost extra but were worth every penny. They are thick, and freshly made. The service was phenomenal and we already made reservations to visit them again next month! Thank you so much.

First time there and we were pleasantly surprised! We don't expect much when it comes to a "gourmet" Mexican restaurant but...Maestros was the exception and were impressed. Their food was very tasty and very well done. Loved the atmosphere and the outside eating area. We would definitely go again!

Absolutely lovely! My sons treated me to a beautiful Mexican Mother's Day celebration. Our beautiful server Natalia made the experience special. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The drinks were such a treat also. Must have the flight of tequilas. I enjoyed it. Please try the Tres Leche Carrot cake and the cheese cake. So special and so very delicious.

Great food and super attentive service! Beautiful outdoor dining area. Everything we ordered were sooo delicious - oyster aguachile, Tetela, shrimp taco 🌮 and my favorite seared Hokkaido scallops! Oh can’t miss the best Tres Leches carrot cake I have ever had! I’m very impressed with the quality and taste of the food! Definitely will go back to this place soon! 👍💯

Second time here. Short ribs will make you so happy. Perfect flavor. The octopus was good and tender (slightly under seasoned) but the bean and noodle thing was a little too Chef Boyardee for me. Nopales are not my thing but I tried them. The ceviche was the best I've had outside of Peru. Mixed drinks are awesome especially if you like Mescal. Seems overpriced just because you're used to the taco cart prices. 😂 But it's seriously worth the money.
