Stumbled across Plate 38 during a short visit to Pasadena. Thoroughly enjoyed this place! I had brunch and selected the Lox & Bagels, and it was one of the best I have had - huge portion of smoked salmon and all the fixings! The staff was very attentive and pleasant to talk to. I like it so much I am coming back again tomorrow before flying home!

Plate 38 is a gem and definitely my new favorite place. The pancakes and that lemon curd inspired me to go home and try making it myself, but if I fail who cares i can come back for all of theirs. Also very lovely staff thank you for a beautiful experience

Bottomless mimosas were good ... Food was tasty. I had the pan seared salmon benedict with hollandaise sauce & shared the grilled artichokes with an aioli dipping sauce. Yum.

Amazing restaurant. Incredible food. Highly recommend. The star of the show during my visit was undoubtedly the steak with asparagus. Cooked to perfection, the steak was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The chef's expertise in seasoning and grilling was evident in every bite. The asparagus served as an ideal accompaniment, adding a fresh and crisp element to the dish. Overall, it was a delightful combination that left me satisfied and impressed.

I haven’t been here for a while and I was pleasantly surprised that the place is still busy. They set up a relatively big tent for outside dining in addition to their regular space and patio. Parking is tighter because of said tent. The dinner menu is pretty solid. The four cheese sexy Mac and gem salad are shareable. The skirt steak is predictable but the baked trout was amazing. So was the truffle mushroom burger. We came back for brunch a few weeks later. We had to wait despite our reservation. The brunch offerings were pretty standard. The prime rib sandwich was savory delicious. The chips in the chilaquiles were pretty soggy. On both visits, the restaurant was understaffed but the servers stepped up to make both visits pleasant.

Came here with family. Our first time here. Everything was so flavorful, fresh and delicious. My husband doesn't usually like this kind of restaurants because their food doesn't tastes well, it's usually lacking flavor and that something that makes a plate bright and delicious. But this, everything we tried here was top notch, he loved it. Our daughter got the mussels plate and it was bomb. I got a cocktail, a French 75 and it was great, very refreshing. We had cheesecake for dessert, it had this subtle lemon flavor that made it outstanding. And the service, amazing. Very nice and caring staff. I must add that even the other patrons were very nice people, most of them said they're regulars and they all seemed happy with the service they get and the deliciousness of the plates. There's plenty of parking, the restaurant is pretty, clean, nice vibes and the restroom was clean and well stocked. I hope we can come back soon.

Good food and service. My hamburger was very tasty. Only downside was the excessive noise. Difficult to have a conservation. Acoustical damping would greatly enhance the atmosphere.

Amazing food and service. The patio is a bit loud because of the street noise but I had the best Cepque Madame. my wife had an Amazing breakfast burrito and we had a side of the mac n cheese and it was all fantastic. I would definitely go here again soon if it was not 30 miles away from my home! The Couple next to us got chicken sandwiches and they were huge and looked delicious. it was there first time there as well and they were impressed just like us!

My wife and I went here for Happy Hour and it is highly recommended! It gives you the chance to try things not on the typical menu. Originally, we were just going to have regular dinner here but none of the menu items really seemed all that interesting or worth trying for the price. But after hearing about the Happy Hour options from our server, it was well worth the stay.

Good food. Went for brunch, got the French toast. It was very good. My friend had oatmeal, for a healthy option it was done well. Service forgot about us at the end, we had to ask like 3 times about getting the check.

10:00 AM - walked in and it was quite empty. Make a reservation if you plan to go at 11:00 or after! It will fill up quick. Croque madam - the salad was a bit sour for me. The toast was delicious! I wish they added more bechamel. You can definitely taste the Gruyère! Pancakes - they packed it with blueberries in the pancake! I like how the lemon custard balanced it out. Would recommend if you like blueberry pancake and lemon custard! The staffs updated us almost every 5-10 min about our food. Our food took almost 25 minutes to get out.

First time coming here for a brunch and I was a little disappointed by the service. Our party of 16 was sat outside since they said they couldn't accommodate us inside and that already delayed our waitress. She was bouncing between tables inside and our table outside. We all ordered the Bottomless Mimosa option and we had a total of 2 mimosas each in the 90-minute window that we had. Our food came out on time and was the perfect temperature. I ordered the Croque Madame Sandwich and it was delicious. It was also a pretty big portion that could be shared amongst two people. I don't know if I return here for brunch as we were waiting for our waitress to come with drinks and they also only have 2 restrooms which took forever to wait for. There is no room inside to form a line for the restroom as it is exactly five feet from the closest table and/or bar seat. I didn't enjoy the lag and the wait on our drinks was not worth the price.

Breakfast/brunch prices were very reasonable, especially for LA. But the iced coffee is $4.50. I asked if they could do an Irish coffee and bam, all the sudden $16. Not on the menu, so didn't find out until bill. Just didn't expect a shot of what I hope was Tullamore Dew to be $11.50. Breakfast $19, drink $16. Just felt a little taken advantage of. Food was absolutely 5/5. We'd go again except for the drink thing. Also, if we're getting picky, the waiter didn't write anything down. Food order was correct, but had to ask multiple times for water.

This place is outstanding! They have an excellent selection of appetizers, drinks, and main dishes. I tried the ocean trout plate. All I can say is WOW!! It's a bit noisy, but the combination of great service and delicious food will make you forget that you're dining next to a busy street corner. Reservations are highly recommended. Place 38 has a bar with 2 big screen TVs, and they have an outdoor seating area, which is tented but open. Go check it out!

Lovely dining in a somewhat unassuming spot. The food was artfully crafted and the cocktails were delicious and well balanced. The real star of the show though was dessert, a take on strawberry shortcake that makes 99% of strawberry desserts look ill advised by comparison. While it is a little bit of a splurge, I can't wait to come back to this hidden gem as it's well worth it.

Was seated outside, waiters kind of forget about you. Food was tasty. Mimosas were strong lol Menu can be somewhat confusing be sure to check some photos for an idea of what it looks like and portions.

We always come here for date night. My parents were in town so we brought them for Valentine's Day after coming the night before( we made a reservation for VD). They enjoyed their meal immensely. Vladimir, Tony, and Stephanie were our staff and I could not speak more highly of them.

For a long time we were chagrin to eat here. Finally after two years of driving by we decided to go in. The happy hour food is off the hook! From the sandwiches to the hurracha - outstanding! The chicken dinner on Sunday and Monday is incredible. The rabbit on the daily specials is also phenomenal and tastes somewhere between tender roast beef and pork or something. Just delicious. The chef is a great guy, modest and humble - his food is great and is a real treat for Colorado Blvd. in this part of town.

Good food and nice atmosphere. Came at brunch time and liked how the menu had a lot of options and variety. Definitely recommend getting the smokehouse burger.

Met a friend here for lunch and really liked the place. It's on a busy corner, but inside it's very cozy and even the outside seating is nice and comfortable. Our food was awesome and our waiter was very friendly. I'll def be returning here.

This restaurant is in the busting neighborhood of Pasadena, in a small plaza. Parking can be a bit difficult but there should be plenty of street parking near by. Every time we come here we are impressed! Every plate ordered has exceeded our expectations. The Service was good, all waiters and waitresses were very attentive and the food is just delicious! Usually Bunches Monday-Fridays come with bottomless mimosas from 9:30 am - 2:30 pm which is a big plus! Super nice place with an amazing ambiance and great food! Couldn’t have asked for more πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Quite a funny fancy place that is actually not that great. Took forever to have an hamburger that was ok. Fries where still oily and service was kind of OK but not great.
