Connal's man!!! This is what my wife and I excitedly say to each other when we eat sandwiches from this amazing place. It's a "food joy" experience every time. I'm on a personal mission to try almost everything on its huge menu. It's our local favorite sandwich shop in North Pasadena. The name on the sign is Sandwiches by Connal but the locals just call it Connal's. My favorite is the pastrami dip. The original combo grinder is an awesome cold sub option. If you are in the mood, the chili cheeseburger will satisfy your craving. The photo is of the Italian beef dip. It's good but be warned, the giardiniera is spicy. A bit too hot for me, but just fine if you enjoy hot spice. My wife helped me finish it and really enjoyed it. The subs are about 7-8 inches long and 4 inches tall. If you have a smaller appetite you can get two meals out of a sandwich and fries. The fries are like what some people say about pizza, they are good because they are fries. If you're not picky you will enjoy them. It's inexpensive and really satisfying comfort food. At peak times there is almost always a line for the ordering window, but the line moves pretty quickly. You also have the option to call in your order and go pick it up. Connal's has been around for generations and a lot of locals have been going there since they were kids. So, do yourself a favor and give this place a try soon.

I ordered the fries and the zings...zucchini and onions combined. I was not impressed. The batter was thick on the zucchini fries, compared to the cut of the zucchini, and the taste was not that great. They were hard, and not very enjoyable. The saving grace was the ranch dressing. That was great.

This is a small (covered outdoor seating for 12-16 people around back) walk-up hamburger joint with additional things on the menu, including some Mexican items. The food here isn't the best I've ever had, but it's definitely good for what it is. Service is nice enough, prices are alright, and it's decently quick with getting your order out. It can get busy depending on when you go, so keep that in mind. I've been here a few times and always try something new each time, and everything has been good. This time I got chili cheese fries, and a bean and cheese burrito. The chili cheese fries were pretty good -- nice size portion, and a slight sweetness to the chili. These fall a bit short in comparison to The Hat, for example, but were still good. The burrito was great, with a healthy amount of cheese. The beans are good, but nothing crazy. Overall, I enjoy this place every time I come, and do recommend trying it at least a couple of times. That being said, to be perfectly honest, I do think it's slightly overrated.

Connal's is a staple and the food is always great! I just had a Cobb Salad on my last visit, and it was spectacular! Should have asked for extra ranch. Been going there for about 25 years and never got anything that wasn't really good. The fries looked great the other night.

A classic, old-school, LA style diner and takeout spot. This place has been around for so long because it’s consistently good in every aspect. The food is fresh, service is great, prices are reasonable, and it’s a convenient way to grab a quick lunch. The grinders are all great, especially the original combo. Tried the chicken Parm special for the first time and it didn’t disappoint. Also, don’t sleep on the fries. They definitely hit the spot.

The original grinder combo is very good. Nice ratio of breat to meats, cheese, and lettuce. The fries are great, too! Crispy outside and soft inside.

Old style Diner counter, has a little interior space and is always busy because the food is great. Don't be afraid of the lines, they are lightning fast. Excellent Asian style chicken salad, pastrami, and one of the best $12 antipasto salads around.

I got the avocado bacon burger. Good but a bit dry. Enjoyed the generous lettuce portion. Needed to reassemble my burger with better ingredient placement. Super friendly and helpful staff. Cute fun place. Definitely fresher and nicer than fast food, but food still left a lot to be desired in my opinion. I've heard their breakfast is really good, but haven't tried it.

Connal's honestly is a place that you try and it sticks in your head! The gyros are so good , that's sauce that comes inside 😙🤌 chefs kiss! I tried them years ago , and never got the name I just remembered how Connals looked like and found them few years later and still they taste amazing, introduced my wife and her family to the gyros and everyone loved it.

Stopped by on a Sunday for a quick bite. Got the turkey grinder (one of their tip sellers) and was not disappointed. Everything about the sandwich was done right and they kept it simple. I will definitely be backnto try other menu items

We only got fried zucchini this time, but it was soo good dipped in the ranch they have us. The portions were great, and two of us were able to eat one order, and that was enough just to have as a snack. I definitely recommend it.

This retro sandwich shop has a huge menu of delicious meals. Their fries are out of this world. My favorite is the Philly Cheese steak.

Vintage-type diner popular with the locals for takeout. Also has a dine-in room. Sandwiches are mostly the hot/grilled type (i.e. cheesesteaks), and burgers. There's also a breakfast menu in the morning.

A Pasadena institution. Want a burger? Go to Connal’s. Want a patty melt? Go to Connal’s. Want a quality milkshake? Go to Connal’s. Best quality fast-service food in the city. Support your local burger stands♥️

Very very busy take out shop. We managed to grab a couple of seats indoors and the service was great including recommendations from our server. Portions were huge for the burritos and packed full of great ingredients. Fries had a nice seasoning on them too.

Used to be my favorite spot for burgers and fries, but not anymore. The service is awful. They left my order on the counter to go cold until I had to go ask for it. Then the food was terrible. The fries used to be great, but now they are dry and mealy. It's sad how far Connal's has fallen.

They have the absolute best French fries EVER! This is a must visit any time I'm in Pasadena. I've been a repeat customer for over 12 years. Great burgers, sandwiches and shakes too.

This sandwich place has been here for ever. I’ve come here for 40 years. Always popular and always delicious. My favorite the Turkey hoagie with red onion & peppers! They also have amazing breakfast, and hamburger combo! Always fresh made lots of meat.

It probably does not need to be said, but this is the best sandwich shop in Pasadena. Great food, super consistent, awesome selection, great hours, wonderful staff and reasonably priced. There's a bunch of good reasons there's always a line out front.
