Cute little place with some tables inside and some outside, located on the corner. Got the Nutellamisu Mousse Souffle pancakes with Golden Roasted Oolong Milk Tea. The souffle pancakes were delicious! They tasted like coffee with Oreos and they were super fluffy but cooked well inside. Smothered in sauce with fruits all around. They're awesome. I didn't know what to expect for the golden roasted oolong milk tea but it wasn't for me, I thought it would taste like coffee but it had that English tea kind of flavor or something. The staff was friendly and prices are fair. You can park on the street.

Cute little spot in Pasadena. My family had been wanting to try the Japanese Souffle Pancakes for a while. They were delicious. Drinks were good, a bit sweet for my taste (I kept it original), but you can change the sweetness level. The only downside is that we went late at night, and all their pastries were gone, except for 3 that we did care much for. We hope to go again soon, but early so that we can try the pastries.

I will definitely be back! Both the tea and soufflé pancakes were great. I got the Coconut Dew tea with 0% sweetness and I'm glad to say this tea shop will actually give you 0 sweetness. Some other places claim 0 added sweetness but your tea ends up still being sweet. That being said, if you're not a fan of bitter tea, I would not recommend 0 sweetness. We also got the taro soufflé pancake and it was delicious. It's a good size to share and best part is that it's not overly sweet. I loved the taro paste on top and the cream too. The cream was a bit salty which was a great contrast but it was as extream as the cheese foam you can get on tea. I saw someone say there was an eggy taste to the pancakes but that was not the case at all. Part of the fun is seeing the pancakes being made, so I'd recommend sitting near the cook area! It would be a good idea to come at odd hours because this place can get PACKED. We were advised the pancakes can take up to half an hour during peak times. Cost: Large tea: $5.15 Taro Soufflé Pancake: $15.50

Absolutely decadent! I got the berries in uji, taro cake, soufflé creme brelee pancakes, and strawberry box. The drink grew on me quickly. Genius concoction. I didn’t love the taro cake as much but I do enjoy trying taro in different forms. The pancakes are a slice of heaven, blessed and graced right into my mouth. Of course the strawberry box is good. Really excited to have gone here. They have SO MUCH stuff I want to try. Highly recommend. I’m too lazy to emphasize the need to try the creme brûlée soufflé pancakes. But really if you’re reading this you won’t regret it. Loved this place and hope to come back. Also, I don’t give out 5 stars lightly.

Good drinks and fluffy pancakes! I liked the mango in Kyoto and mango in uji a lot. For the pancakes I really liked the mango sunshine. The cheese one was just the mango one without the mango since the mango had the cream as well.

It's great, good vibe and the place looks cute too, with easy self-order tablet in the front, and they used composable containers to put the soufflé. I got the nuttela and cheesecake soufflé, with oreo matcha milk tea and Oolong-Rose hot tea. So far it's good experience 😌. 😃😃😁😏

Such a great spot. Worth the wait. The line can be long. You self order on their kiosks which is good if you don't know the menu but you can feel the pressure of the people behind you while they watch and wait. The milk tea Boba was good but not the best I have ever had. They have some very colorful and pretty drinks that I will try when I go back. The pancakes are fantastic though! OMG ... so good. We had the mango one, the Nutella one and the creme Brule. Easch of them really good but the Nutella one had an amazing sauce on top that was light and fluffy and so flavorful. I highly recommend!

Saw this place on social media and always wanted to try Japanese Fluffy Panckes, this was my first time. The inside was small but I like how they had the ordering kiosks, I feel like you go to see all the options. I ordered the Creme Brulee Souffle Pancakes, it was one of the most popular ones. My buddies ordered the Nutellamisu Mousse Souffle Pancake. It took about 30 minutes so we walked around Old Town Pasadena. Got the text message that it was ready. The food tasted good but by never having it before, I had nothing to compare to.

Love the souffles here and their tea options are solid too! The souffle does take a while (15-20+min) so would recommend ordering ahead before you get here if you're in a hurry. There isn't a lot of seating outside, but the Pasadena central is only a short walk away.

Food/Drinks: + Soufflé pancakes were light and fluffy, definitely worth the hype. We got the mango sunshine soufflé pancake which came with a sea salt cream and mango topping with granola and assorted fruits. The light saltiness of the cream pairs well with the sweetness of the mango syrup. Combined with a portion of the fluffy pancake, creates a wonderful layered tasting bite. + Matcha Lemon Explosion was lightly acidic from the lemonade but softened by the Uji Matcha. Refreshing for a hot LA summer day. + Citrus Fresh Oolong w/ Cheese Mousse is a light authentically brewed oolong tea with a hint of citrus. The cheese mousse gives it an extra layer of heavy creamy flavor that complements the oolong tea. Setting/Ambiance: Nice warm, welcoming and bright ambiance. With good Asian cafe music and a diffused natural light setting, you can watch your soufflé pancakes and drinks being made as you wait in the indoor setting. Or if you prefer the lazy outdoors of Old Pasadena, sit at the many seatings outside in the shaded terrace. Service: It is estimated to be a 40+ min wait for the soufflé pancakes but we got our food earlier than anticipated so plus point! Easily view your order status on the TV. Overall: 5/5 a must visit cafe in the old Pasadena area.

Great spot for Japanese soufflé pancakes. We got there a little after they opened at 12:15PM and there was already people seated and a line outside. We ordered the matcha strawberry pancakes on the touchscreen. There was a 50 minute wait for pancakes advertised and that was about how long it took. We also ordered the Mango in Kyoto with almond milk- it was mango, milk, topped with a matcha mousse. We had to wait a little outside for a table to open up, there’s not too much seating and there was quite the line at this time. The pancakes came out and we basically inhaled them after waiting for 50 minutes. They were super light and fluffy and paired well with the strawberries. Delicious! I’d try coming a little later in the day or arrive before opening to lessen the wait time, but the pancakes are a definite must try!

This is a very cute cafe in Pasadena on the corner of a busy intersection. We didn't have trouble finding street parking. There are lots of restaurants, retail stores, and other cafes around. Per recommendation by the employee, we chose to get the Mango sunshine soufflé pancake. $13.95. They may be pricey but the portion, quality and taste is worth it! They use mangos, mango purée, and assortment of fruits. The soufflés are made to order and use fresh ingredients from japan! You can see them make it right in front of you. They are the fluffiest cloudy pancakes I've ever tasted or seen! They are egg based, so it did have an eggy taste. Japanese Momo Peach Milk Tea without cheese foam $4.25 I don't have a photo of this but this year was my favvvvv!!! It has such a subtly peach and floral taste. It has such a girly/feminine taste. Every sip was surprisingly better than the previous. Will be getting this again!

The pancakes are so delicious and fluffy 😋 so yummy! I tried the matcha tea with cheese foam and it was so good. The cons : it was a 30 min wait to get my order and also it is difficult to get a table 😞

Came to Motto to try the soufflé pancakes. I got the mango salted cheese ones. They were really big and covered in fresh fruit. They are a little on the pricey side so its probably better to split them. I also ordered the lemon explosion tea which was very refreshing and not too sweet.

The matcha latte slushy was to die for, these Japanese soufflé pancake were such an interesting consistency, they were really good for my first experience but my only small complaint is that they could be sweeter. Maybe I just needed to put more suave on it etc but they lacked a sweet flavor without dipping it in the sauce.

It has been on my to go to list forever and we finally went and what a disappointment. We ordered the pineapple drink without cheese mousse and it was amazing.. the 2 stars rating come for the pancakes. We ordered the Nutella soufflé pancake. With the first bite I was like this tastes weird, the second bite what is this weird flavor that this is leaving in my mouth, third bite I gagged and realized I'm eating eggs. This thing tastes just like eating fluffed egg whites without any seasoning. Not sure why they can't put cinnamon or nutmeg or vanilla flavor into the batter to mask the stench of the eggs. This was totally not for me. Also the Nutella was not Nutella, I don't know what chocolate spread they put on. The people working there were working very hard and were very friendly so this rating is not for them.

Very small seating area. An assortment of drinks. The wait time for my souffle was over 30 minutes although it said 50-60 minutes on the display board. I got the mango sunshine souffle pancake (best shared among two people), uji matcha latte with popping boba (yes, that's right! It wasn't as fun as popping boba but worth trying!) and matcha mochi, a slice of the pistachio raspberry basque cheesecake, and matcha yuzu chiffon cake. Haven't tasted the cakes yet but I'm sure they are gonna be delicious! Definitely recommend this place if you prefer Asian desserts!!!

I don’t expect much from instagrammable food, but this soufflé pancake is delicious! I was craving it since and will definitely be back. Mochi milk tea was pretty strange in flavor combination. They have a lot of tables outside, but it still gets busy quickly.

This place was amazing. Being able to watch the pancakes was a fun experience. I ordered the mango pancake and the flavor was out of this world. Going in for my first bite I went right through my whole pancake not knowing how fluffy and soft it was. Ten out of ten. Also I got a smiley face on my syrup container

Love this place for their mango drinks! Decided to try getting one of their souffle pancakes and it came out so beautifully!!! It is pricey but a great gift to give as a birthday dessert. I highly recommend their desserts and drinks!

The only thing wrong was that they put it in a disposable bowl instead of a proper plate. I entered “dine-in” not “to go” on the kiosk. Anyways, it was a great treat! Had the Nutella one and the Green Tea one, both good.

Soufflé pancakes are all the craze and this place nails them! Wish they had a few simpler options with just fresh fruit and cream but the crème brulée was a personal favorite. The mango one was interesting, mix of sweet and salty. The teas were nice, good balance and actually taste like tea and not just sugar milk. Worth trying this place if soufflé pancakes are on your list of things to try out.

I love pancakes but I NEVER had Japanese pancakes. They're so fluffy!!!!! Delicious 😋 buttery, mouthwatering, decadent to the last bite!!! It takes about 25 minutes from grill to table but it's soooo worth the wait.

The one and only giggle pancakes in old town Pasadena. It's tasted so good, lite and fluffy not too sweet. The crepes cake is fantastic.
