A very holy place to visit, Badi Patan devi temple is one of the shaktipeeths where right thigh had fallen, a holy shrine for all hindus. A must visit, the temple goes around very small roads, so, it is advisable to park your car somewhere near the market and walk to the temple

Badi Patan Devi is one of the most popular temple in our city Patna. Lakhs of people come in every special days like Dusshera, New Year. There will be too much dense on these days but any other days there is normal. What i don't like is the charge of goods in the temple is too much high than i expected. Also, some workers who work there is bit kind of rude. Change your behavior those who work rudly because you are working at Mata's temple and if you continue with your rude behavior then don't expect our behaviour. Else this temple is all good. You can take blessings from Maa here.

Badinpatan devi temple is so peaceful place. Initially when thought to visit the temple, didn't know that the temple was the Shaktipeeth. But later found the place is a SHAKTIPEETH where Devi sati's left thigh was fallen. Since the temple is located inside the city and the temple is not famous as other shaktipeeth temples, that's the reason there was not crowd at all except only 7-10 people. But now the temple trust is trying to expand the temple, so the efforts are in progress. Request all Hindu brothers and sisters to contribute to the expansion of the temple. Whenever, you go to Patna, it's a must visit place.

This is one of the oldest temple of patna, Capital of Bihar. Some people say that the name of patna after this temple. There is a Mata Devi Murtee in the Garvgrah. Here avery day thousands of people came to take Mata Darshan. The temple premises is not so big there is other God and godess structures are also installed for the public. There is Hawan Kund also available. The new temple structure saket is ready to built for this the fund rising process on the way. HOW TO REACH (for National and International Bhakt) Here you can reach from all over the world by flight ✈️ , Bus, Train. By Flight- first reach Jai Prakash Narayan International Airport then you can took public bus, Cab, Taxi, Auto or train for Patna Sahib railway station from Patna Junction and the Auto to reach temple By Bus- After that you have to take Auto or taxi or cab because it is situated in narrow street there is no main road available.

The temple in itself it good and religious, elders would love to visit this temple but the thing is, there isnt a proper route to visit the temple or should i say its too much in the interior. Its extremely difficult to get there and if you're driving there, its just too much of a hassle but it doesn't matter because its great to visit Badi Patan Devi Temple in the end and its all worth it if you're religious person.

Pros-Amazing place ......on main gate you will see lord shiva in angry mode with devi sati in his arms and naag wasuki in fumed Avtar...see the image ..in internal part of the temple godess sarswati ,laxmi and mahakali is in pind form exactly in front of gate..... Cons- You never get a single priest who is not dealing in money 💰 even if you take aarti /sindur/hawan rakh anything you have to pay for it..... shocked to see that it is happening in the aadi shakti temple... really harrashing the purity of temple

A very ancient Temple. It has a powerful pull factor that takes you there. Maa Patan Devi darshan leaves you with a very satisfied feeling. The "pat" closes at 1230hrs and the way towards the Temple is very crowded so plan in advance to reach there.

Although known to come under the world’s top 10 consecrated places, the current management is an utter disgrace to what the place had to offer. You’ll have to go through a lot of greedy folks in between you and energy centre, right from vendors outside to the ‘poojaris’ inside. Just focus on the energy centre and neglect the rest. That’s the best way to absorb what this place has to offer.

Patan Devi, also called Maa Patneshwari, is the oldest and most holy temple in Patna. It is known to be one of the 51 Siddha Shakti Pithas in India. Puranic legends state that the 'right thigh' of Sati's body had collapsed here when Lord Vishnu and his 'Sudarshan Chakra' had been cut off. The ancient temple, originally known as Maa Sarvan and Kari Patneshwari, The abode of the goddess Durga is thought to be. The name of the town of Patna is generally thought to have been derived from the name of the Bari Patan Devi Temple (located in the vicinity of Patna Saheb Gurudwara). But, according to another theory, the name derives from Patan, which means the town and Patna was a wonderful place to export and import.k.

  • 3/5 Vishwa R. 1 year ago on Google
It's an okeish place.. partly due to the fact that I have never seen a temple where the priest is rejecting donations because the offering is too low for his statue ( honestly I was shocked at seeing the level of his greediness). 50-100 rs are definitely smaller for him. Pretty much a mismanaged temple. The way to this temple is narrow and you might find a lot of difficulty in reaching there. Given the historic status ofbthe temple, it should be managed well.

Shakti petha , must visit if you are Maa Durga devoti. Avoid going during Navratri. Located in Narrow lanes, better park you car 1 km before temple and take auto . Very positive vibes . 8 km from railway station. Auto will charge Rs200 from railway station.

It's one of the Shakti peeth in patna. We visited it on 6th day of Navratri. We reached there around 6:30am. there was 2 queue there. It took 2 hours to complete the visit and do the visit of the deity. There is less parking space so would be good to keep the vehicle on the main road and walk . It is around 500mtrs from main road. On other days it would take around 10-15 mins of wait time.

I recently visited Patan Devi Temple in Patna, and it was a captivating experience! The temple's historical significance and serene atmosphere make it a must-visit. The vibrant colors and intricate architecture added to the charm. However, it can get quite crowded, so plan your visit accordingly. Overall, a great place to connect with spirituality and soak in the local culture.

Apart from being one of the 51 Shaktipeeth, Badi Patandevi is also the presiding deity of ancient Patliputra or present day Patna city. Originally named as Maa Sarvanand Kari Patneshwari it was later simplified as बड़ी पटनदेवी. As old Patliputra-city  is among the oldest  continuously inhabited places on earth, being in existence since 490 BCE, this temple also among the oldest temples in the Magadh region.
