This is one of my favorite little areas to hike although it is getting notably more crowded lately. It is free and you can park by the park or school or even in the adjacent neighborhood to access the trail. You can take several routes once on it to get an easier or more rigorous workout. It has a fantastic 360 degree view once you are at the top! It is best hiked in the cooler months as there is little to no shade or trees but not too difficult (again, you can choose different routes for more cardiovascular intensity). Some places are slippery and rocky so I recommend hiking boots. πŸΆπŸ•It is dog friendly (on a leash) but bring water and waste bags. Also, if your dog is aggressive do not come on this trail as it is narrow in places and impossible to pass without getting very close in places.

The directions send you 5 mins past the entry way to the trailhead. Brings you to a closed off area. The correct location begins at the west wing park. Google needs to correct the directions on this... The trail was great!

I would have given 5 stars. Part of the hike was a little too challenging. I had no traction on so parts and was sliding down places. Beautiful views. Would have liked a little more signage like distance on trail and distance on various loops. Warnings about steepness could work too. I was so impressed with folks that knew and ran the trail. This was my 1st time. Couldn't find it with Google Maps until I tried to figure out what the trail was called.

Nice easy hike for families. One mile round trip gets you great views. Total trail 4 miles but ready to shorten it down to anything length depending on your kids and exercise tolerance.

A difficult hike worth the views! From the top you can see all the way down to South Mountain. This is also a great place for wildlife.

A low mountain trail you could do it with ease about 4 miles loop. Can view a wide range of Peoria from the top. A direction board saying difficult climb is not that bad.

Gorgeous day. Guys are laying the ground work for another path. We traveled as far as we could go, and it is nice. Every trail was lightly traveled today, and when you do run into people, they are keeping their distance to stay safe from the virus concern.

This place was beautiful. It was a great combination of easy and difficult. It was a great hike. Started around 745 in the morning and didn't finish till about, maybe 930-10ish. It got really hot towards the end so we took our time on our way back down. It starts in a parking lot by a park and heads into a path towards a school. The sign for the hike is to the right. Very rocky which is probably typical for the area. Bring extra water, you won't regret it. Overall, a great hike with great views. I would definitely do it again. :)

Great place to go hiking or trail running. There are even a couple areas that can be mount biked through this area. Awesome views of the city and the valley from this height. Lots of critters along the way (rabbits, lizards, etc). I went around 8:30am and there were only about six people on the trail. I would say this is a easy to moderate trail, which shouldn't present any issues for most people. Though you will want to make sure you bring lots of water if you are going to make the entire four mile trip.

Nice hike with trails for different skill levels and great views of the valley. I took the intermediate trail strait to the top, it was challenging and fun. I look forward to trying the other trails.

Enjoyable hike but we had to cut off about 45 mins as my son slipped and scraped his elbow up a bit. Trails a bit more rocky than my sprain-prone ankles prefer, but lots of desert flowers in bloom.

Hiked portions of this trail many times, a bit rocky in some places. Although, I have hiked with children as young as three years old. You can choose different routes for different abilities, not a lot of elevation change compared to Thunderbird or Pinnacle Peak park. It seems to be getting more popular. I prefer to go on the weekends because I can park in the elementary school parking lot and head through a gate to a trailhead. Otherwise, be prepared to walk 1/2 mile from West Wing Parkway parking lot to trailhead.
