THIS is the place to stay in Provence! We waited years to get to Provence and Le Temps Suspendu made the trip all we ever dreamed it could be. This B&B is nestled on a tiny street in a village. The owners and operators, Patrick and Cecile, are a young Belgian couple who have renovated a village property into a delightful hideaway. They and their children live in one part of the home and the guests in the "main" part. From the tiny street one enters a lovely front room which leads upstairs (straight ahead) or to the breakfast room (through the arched door to the left), the 24-hour coffee room and the back yard with chaise lounges and a pool. To the right is the passage to their private living quarters. Breakfast 8:00 to 10:00 including very fresh breads and rolls from the bakery one block away. The village of Pernes-de-la-Fountaines where Le Temps Suspendu is located, is, in and of itself, a great place to visit. It is a thriving town but without crowds and hustle and bustle. Everything is within walking distance including the fine restaurants, the myriad fountains, the Roman bridge, the fruit store, bakery and the ice cream shop with outside tables under large sycamore trees. The post office and the bank is just down the street. Patrick and Cecile are quick to answers questions and will sit with you to mark maps and describe highlights in Provence. The village is very well located for access to the villages of Gordes, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and others located in the Luberon region of Vaucluse. Om het natte Belgenland te ontvluchten kozen we in laatste instantie voor een verblijf op deze locatie. Het bleek een topkeuze te zijn. Van ontvangst, tot kamer, tot ontbijt en de vriendelijkheid van de gastheer en gastvrouw kunnen we enkel maar vol lof praten. Na een heerlijke week van verwennerij waren onze batterijen opgeladen.
