After many bad coffees in perth, i googled for the best coffee in Perth and La Veen was highly rated! So i decided to come here on the last day of my trip. Happy to finally have some great coffee on the last day! Highly recommended!!

Cute coffee shop in the heart of city. The coffee is good and i also bought their drip bags which is in various seasonal blend. There’s a lot of foods here too. In the morning there’ll be a long wait but their service is really fast.

My friend said this place coffee was good, so we went for coffee early in the morning.... it was awful! Super sour and couldn't drink it at all! I ordered long black and my friend had cappuccino.... and we had to throw it away whole cup of coffee. After that we went to coffee club to buy another one to get rid of the sour taste form the coffee..... Don't know what happen to coffee or what happen to the coffee beans.... it was really bad...

Nice coffee in the CBD but it’s a shame that they don’t do brunch since moving to the new location.

Really good coffee! So many nice treats inside it was hard to decide what to get. We stopped in here on our coffee tour/ exploration while in Perth and by far one of the best coffees that we had. This place is tiny and always buzzing so be prepared for a little que. The staff were all very friendly and service was pretty efficient. We got our coffees to go and got caramel muffin too which was just ok, a little too sweet with the caramel inside and the muffin itself was a little dry. Overall a good place, I would try one of the savory baked good next time.

Service is great, venue is lovely and in a great location. I personally feel they've overcomplicated what should be more simple quality food... I understand some people really prefer this approach, and its still very nice and well presented.

Great place to chat and have breakfast! We called ahead and reserved a table. The food was quite good (very much enjoyed the salmon) and was aesthetically pleasing for those of us who care haha. I was impressed with the hot cocoa. I don't drink coffee so I often get hit cocoa at these sort of places and often it isn't mixed well and has nasty dregs at the bottom but this was smooth and tasty.

Great brunch spot in the heart of Perth City. Some meals were filling and some, just enough to satisfy your cravings. Quite the hype for a cup of coffee, it was nice and smooth, with a bit of an over-rated taste. Recommend to taste and enjoy :)

Amazing little cafe. A real gem. Great food and coffee (which the locals know about it the line for coffee was anything to go by). Good and coffee came out fast though so no really long waits The staff were really friendly too Love these old buildings too so win win for me

love this place - great friendly staff and service, and helpful too, and pretty cool vibes inside. usually here for 2 main things - their Shakshuka (which is the best Shakshuka i've had in Perth) and their Affogato. i have tried some of the others on the menu, but these two are my goto when i can't make up my mind.

Never been, had to try it! Heard so much about their coffee. It's such a cute little place and definitely a hit with the local workers. The iced matcha was an absolute dream 😍 it's so hard to find a really good iced matcha, so I was in heaven. Their muffins may look small, but they pack the flavour in! The caramel muffin was so tasty 😋 I do love their tshirts and realllly wanted to buy one, but they only had small sizes. Please get larger sizes for us baggy tshirt wearers!!! I'll come back for that!

I used to be a regular, but I haven't been since they moved locations. Wanted a light breakfast, so I ordered a ham and cheese croissant. It came out and looked a bit dark. When I tasted it, it was burnt. Customer service was slightly on the unfriendly side.

Chilled vibe on early Sunday morning. Great atmosphere blended with nice warm coffee scent. Chicken baguette cannot be better. Signature affogato was the highlight. It definitely stood out from other shops with house made ice cream unique presentation

I came across this cafe walking through the city. I felt charm as soon as I walked in the door. I wanted to learn coffee making, so i inquired about the class, they were so happy to teach me so i am enrolling now, looking forward to it, very excited !!

Read a lot of good comments on this cafe and it didn’t let me down! First time to try this Potato Rosti and I really liked the combination of beetroot and avocado. Never thought they would match so well. Definitely will come again when I am in Perth!

Amazing staff great tasting foods portion sizes are on the smaller side but a great excuse for ordering a baked good while you wait or to fill up on after!

I recommend the roasted muesli, generous portion and delicious seasonal fruits. They also make veritable hot chocolate from real dark chocolate and not a saucy cocoa powder, fantastic! Amazing and friendly staff, clean environment, excellent coffee and fresh juice, food was quick, pretty and so tasty ! Kitchen is open until 1.30-2pm, perfect for late breaky. The best breakfast in the CDB, I ll come back soon ;)

  • 3/5 Sylvia 3 years ago on Google
The food was good (a little too pricey), they have a good range of different coffees like batch brew and filter coffee. I would recommend the place for sure. The three stars are for the average ambiance and staff aren’t friendly.

This cafe is rated pretty highly on google so expected it to be quite nice. Went for breakfast with my GF and wasn’t too impressed. Paid $25 for the “big breakfast” and I had finished in a few mins. We try out a lot of cafes and this was definitely one of the smallest English breakfasts I’ve had. Secondly, served with sourdough I was expecting some quite nice bread. It was barely toasted and not enough butter. We then ordered a couple of coffees to take out and I’m not sure how they got a skimmed latte so wrong but it was disgusting, I couldn’t drink it, had some weird sour aftertaste to it. We live close by so I have been back since to grab some take away food, I asked for a bacon & egg sandwich ( a pretty basic and standard dish for a cafe) I was told they don’t have it on the menu and don’t make anything fresh??? So I got 2 pre made croissants instead which were microwaved and again not very good. On a positive note the juice they make we’re pretty refreshing.

I've been coming to La Veen since they first opened their doors. They always provide excellent service and a serious selection of coffee for coffee lovers worth going out of your way for. Their breakfast menu ticks all the boxes with all the usual options. Their scrambled eggs have always been the best I've ever had - even though it might be a "boring" option which you can make at home - when you head here for breakfast I'd say it's worth having with your favourite sides. A call out for potato rosti as it is especially good. Previously they had a very thick cut bacon which they've replaced with more modest - but still generous - cut which personally I enjoy more as it's a bit less meaty. Love Ben, Jack and the team here will always be a favourite in our house ♥️

At long last! *Finally* I've discovered a cafe that offers drip/percolated coffee in Perth. I can't stand milky latte/cappuccino or bitter long black/espresso coffees. I don't have a chance to try their food (I will next visit), I'll make this cafe my go to place from now on.

Great little cafe we came across. We were greeted with a smiling happy waitress and showed us to our table. Not long after our orders were taken coffees and meals were delivered. A very busy little cafe for a Sunday morning and would recommend booking a table just so you don't miss out. All meals were served hot and delish as were the coffees. Again wonderful customer service and affordable meals. Will definitely be going back.

  • 4/5 Pradyumn V. 3 years ago on Google
Staff seen genuinely interested in getting food or appropriately arranging cutlery. Food was surprisingly better than I expected as was the coffee. One of the baristas was very helpful to make sure I was not recommended a batch brew when I recommended a pour over. The single origin range is not huge but has a unique taste. The cold and milk coffees seen to be best here as well as the signature drinks. Eggs are also well cooked. Only taking off a star because of the delay in food serving time and 1/4 of the seating (and air conditioning) being hogged by people just doing work for an hour with a single cup of coffee. Definitely worth a visit.

  • 4/5 Charles S. 3 years ago on Google
This place is known for their coffee. We went here for breakfast the other day. Food is decent and well presented. They are a bit inflexible with their meals - for example, if you order the big breakfast, you cannot swap out an element (such as mushrooms) for another element. It can get warm inside in summer mornings as the have east facing windows.

  • 5/5 Amber T. 3 years ago on Google

Coffee was great but food needs improvement as below. 1 - Potato roastie was very tough outside and very difficult to cut through. No seasoning either i.e. even salt. $23 dollars for 1 roastie, poached egg and some mushrooms. 2. Poached eggs with Benedict and roastie was almost at boiled state inside. 3. Hollandaise sauce needed a bit of extra seasoning + a little bit of extra sause to get through the second slice of bread. Will I go back for coffee - Yes Will I go back for breakfast - No Feedback has been provided to staff as well.

I'm not a huge coffee fan, but their cold brew had a fruity flavour from their special Etheopian and Colombian coffee bean blend. I now have a greater appreciation for good coffee, even without milk or sugar, it was delicious. I had to try a dark chocolate mocha, which also had the special blend. It was really good too.

Very cute little cafe tucked away on the corner of the street here. Definitely giving off some fresh energy vibes. Could sit in the cafe, coffee in hand, pastry on dish, working on a project for a few hours. Giving this place 5 stars for the ambience, service and energy, although the coffee I'd rate a 7/10 (although that's to my subjective coffee standards)

I've never been to this cafe before, but I have gone past it. This cafe vibes are great, Ive been welcomed by the lovely staff as waiting to be seated. Today I wanted a quiet place to read my book and chill. Fits the criteria. The best advice to try out a different cafe, is to try their specialities, so I ordered the Barista Starter ($11) and to finish off with something sweet (Waffle $17). The waffle absolutely tasty and the visuals are amazing. The Barista Starter tastes like - epresso - acidic like ph of 7 or 8 / flat white - mellow and subtle / batch brew - iced tea? / cold brew - has a hint of liquorice for some reason, but it was very interesting to see they all have different flavour profiles. It was helpful to know, they tell you which one it is for. First timer? I highly recommend to go for a good experience. Thank you.

First time here for a late breakfast and will definitely come back again soon. Let's start with the amazing coffee rich and not burnt a perfect taste, one of the best coffees I've had in Perth. The eggs with hollandaise sauce with spinach and smoked salmon was so delicious fresh perfect again one of the best that I've had in Perth so delicious Unfortunately the edges of the bread were burnt and as a result spoilt the otherwise perfect experience. I found the service amazing The staff were so friendly and asked me how the meal was . Everything came pretty fast. Price was very reasonable .

What a perfect combo!! I would highly recommend this place for breakfast/brunch, especially when it's bright outside we can enjoy tasty meals while enjoying the weather (when seating outside). Definitely gonna comeback to try their Eggs Benny! *i've heard they are glorious

Conveniently located near the main shopping district of Perth CBD. Friendly service with a variety of breakfast options. I personally was not a huge fan of the middle rasher bacon pieces but I understand that is personal preference.

  • 5/5 Tristan F. 1 year ago on Google
My Perth coffee go-to. Consistently the best coffee in the CBD and maybe even all of Perth. I searched and searched, but could not find any other cafe more passionate about coffee and more serious about what they do than La Veen. Service is quick even when there's a queue and they have a big range of coffee drip bags as well as other coffee-making paraphernalia for home brewers. My one and only criticism is that food options are basic - croissants, bagels and muffins ready for reheating and take away. But, to be fair, this is standard for Perth cafes, and the quality of coffee is why you come through the door.

  • 5/5 Kim A. 1 year ago on Google
Loved loved loved the coffee here. It definitely lived up to their reviews. They also have a wide selection of muffins, pastries and sandwiches to choose from. They also sell their coffee beans and cute little drip coffee disposable bags with different blends (each costing $3-$4). Do pop by this cute little coffee place.

Have been visiting Perth for a few days. Had at least 5 hot chocs? This one's the best one so far! Good coffee and croissants too! However, no longer has waffles as seen on google reviews.

  • 5/5 Elise A. 11 months ago on Google
Cute and comfy Café with a lovely team. The croissants are the best I've had in Australia, and they brew a mean tea and coffee too. I had an Earl Grey and it was perfectly infused. The lovely person behind the counter was kind enough to show me the brand as I thought the mix was delicious. Everything is also fairly priced which makes the experience even nicer!

We came for breakfast before spending the day in the city and at Murray street mall. Their coffee was probably the best I had on my trip to Perth. absolutely loved the flat white and cappuccino, it had just the right amount of kick you'd need in the morning. paired it with their tomato and cheese croissant and Salmon Bagel, was an amazing way to start our day.

One of my favourite city centre coffee shops. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff and extensive coffee menu.

Today I have visited la Veen Cafe in kings Street (the new side, opposite where it used to be) I was there at 645am... Just after they have opened... just highly disappointed, how the quality have been dropped to the ground! Charged $13.5 for a Salmon bagel with bruised rocket and barely salmon, bagel was rock hard, the croissant as well, (obviolsuy they sold me leftovers from the day before... And charge me like fresh ones... I complained with the chick at the front, saying that isn't fresh and she says it's only Cos is in the cabinet... Banana Bread was also tough and doughy... Couldn't even finished. Coffee was OK but all the rest not recommended
