After seeing the Google reviews we decided to take our friends here for a birthday treat but we were slightly disappointed. The portion of the pasta was very small. The taste was really average. The quality of mussels was not good. The pizza was okay! And dessert was pretty average too. Lipsticks on one of our drinking glasses and fork still had food stain. Service was hit n miss probably due to lack of staff on a public holiday.

Hearty Italian fare served in generous portions. Tried the mussels, gnocchi and tiramisu. All were great. Wasn't expecting so many mussels but I ain't complaining. Requested for the mussels to be less spicy and it came with a sweet tomato broth with a bit of spice 😋

Don't go to this restaurant.. This is the worst experience in a restaurant I have ever encountered. The food was not great to way the least. When we were asked "how was everything' my son said the salad he had was not what he thought, the staff and manager Melissa argued with us. She was insulting by saying I was immature, I couldn't believe how badly me and my family were treated. I'm sorry to review like this but people should know as I read reviews and this restaurant and a couple of the staff we spoke to were the rudest and insulting I have ever encountered. I will never ever go to this restaurant again. Doesn't deserve the 1 star even... terribly disappointed 😔

I attended for the first time to have dinner on a Monday night and we had such a good experience. We were a group of 6 people and the service was very friendly and attentive. We ordered two 50cm pizzas and it was more than enough to share and try different flavours. Pizza is so soft, the crust is cooked just to perfection, ingredients fresh, cheese delicious... The decoration of the place is also very lovely, simple, yet beautifully set to have a full experience with wine and food. The food and drinks menu has a good variety... I just loved it. I'm definitely going back to try a pasta :D We split the bill in the end and ended up paying 51$ each, which considering that we ordered 2lts of beer, cocktails, digestives, entrees and two 50cm pizzas of 3 different flavours each... was just awesome!!!

Walked in without a booking and was lucky enough to get a table, the staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, came out in a timely manner and was perfect! Plenty to choose off the menu, great drinks menu and plenty of Gluten free options. All came to a reasonable price considering the quality and location of the venue. Definitely recommend

I came here with my brother to try the pizza and it was fantastic, as were the mozzarella sticks and dessert. The staff were all very friendly and the restaurant was lively.

Simple is a very good descriptor. Very tasty pizza, good crust, good sauce, good toppings, reasonable prices. Can't ask for much more! Went on a spur of the moment date with my partner and decided we need to come back some time to try more when we're hungrier! This time we just split a pizza and it was great!

We had dinner here a couple of months ago and sad to say, it was disappointing 😌. Service was friendly, drinks arrived quickly but the positives ended there. There was little care when it came to seasoning. Where it wasn't lacking, it was too salty. Food was average and not worth the price tag. One of the dishes ordered was forgotten, delivered 30 mins after everyone else's and arrived cold. Like, how?! We had bruschetta and pizza to share, both were underwhelming. Although bruschetta bread was nice and crusty, tomato pieces were flavourless and the tiny dollop of stracciatella didn't help much. Suprema pizza had a decent amount of olives and charred capsicum but not much else to rave about, and that's not good considering it was a meat-forward pizza 😕. S's spaghetti all'amatriciana was lacklustre, tasted okay at first but got too salty towards the end. E's pasta was cooked al dente but tasted bland. The only thing prominent was chilli, and the clams weren't the most impressive. My grilled octopus wasn't anything special, romesco sauce didn't do much to the chewy octopus and salad especially looked sad. I get "simple" is in their name but didn't expect food to be thattt sort of simple ☹️. Now came T's chicken parmigiana, just as everyone was finishing up their meals. When we noticed it didn't come out at the same time as everyone else's, we brought it to the waitress' attention, specifically asked if they'd forgotten. She denied it and said the kitchen was still preparing it. Hmm sure 😬. So when it came out 30 mins later, you'd expect it to be hot right? Well, the chips were hot and crunchy but the chicken was cold. It was as if they'd left the plate sitting there for half an hour and just quickly replaced the cold chips. Or perhaps it was left out during the ordering process, kitchen somehow managed to whip up a new plate but that couldn't explain how the chicken was cold. Ah well, that now forever remains an unsolved mystery 🤷‍♀️. We sent it back and got it taken off our bill. The place unfortunately did not hit a single mark for us. Perhaps just a bad night for them, but left bad enough tastes in our mouths to not return.

Son picked this restaurant for his birthday dinner. None of us had been there before but it turned out to be a great choice. We had mozzarella sticks and cheesy garlic focaccia for shared entrees and I shared a rustic platter with daughter for mains. I loved the burrata mozzarella which was so creamy and daughter's favourite was the crushed potato with paprika. Other daughter had Tuscan chicken and son had meat lovers pizza which was huge. Service was exceptional. Prompt refilling of water and drinks service and the food came out fast and hot especially considering the restaurant was full. Atmosphere and decor were great. We will be back.

We struggled to eat and felt very heavy after. If you like real Italian Pizza you should avoid this place. Very surprised by the look of the "Buffalo" to say the least. Tomato base was cold, too salty and acidic. The cheese was not real buffalo one, didn't taste much and had that plastic feeling. They said they don't cook it because it comes too watery... It just need to be drained before use they should know that. The "ortolana" was tasteless apart from the olive oil.

We had a work group dinner at Simple Italian. Because we pre-booked, we didn't have to wait. The food was excellent (in my opinion). I ordered the Parma ham & mushroom pizza (pictured) with a side salad. It was delicious. Although I didn't personally pay, the menu prices reflect the quality ingredients used in the food. Not too expensive for what you get. The service seemed pretty good and we didn't wait long for the food to arrive. The venue inside was welcoming with an authentic Italian ambiance.

I visited for the first time on a Monday night when not many restaurants are open. Simple is very pretty and cozy. The environment has a beautiful and pleasant lighting and decoration. The service was kind, friendly, and attentive, we were very pleased. The pizzas are delicious. The dough and fillings are made with quality ingredients. The dough is thin and tasty. It is possible to order pizzas with half in one flavor and half in another. This time we chose a 4 Formaggi, Suprema, Appetitosa and Calabrese. We also ordered a Mango Mule Mocktail (it is not alcoholic) and it was delicious. The restaurant also has many other options for entrees, pastas, meats, wines, drinks, and others. I believe the most requested are pizzas. The experience at the restaurant was very good so I will definitely come back.

Without question, the best pizza we’ve had anywhere in Perth. Clean & fresh. It’s takeaway you can eat without feeling ‘yuck’ after. Loved it.

I must say this has probably been the best pizza I had in Australia. There is a 1 star review that discouraged me to come but please avoid his comment. DON'T AVOID THIS PLACE. Have a look at ours 3 flavour 50cm pizza. Grazie mile!

An Italian restaurant with atmosphere and luxurious decoration. The meal is delicious and authentic, and the pizza crust is crispy. The white wine pasta tastes just right, and the noodles are not too soft. Very recommended

Well portioned food with reasonable prices, definitely able to satisfy any pizza cravings made from authentic Italian oven. Stretchy mozzarella cheese that is just the perfect texture, pasta and lasagna were tasty. Great service with relatively low waiting time. The place is well decorated as if you are dining in Italy. Vegan options available here as well. Overall chill and relaxing atmosphere, great place to hangout with friends and loved ones.

As a huge fan of napolitano styled pizza this place was a bit of a let down. The pizza was absurdly covered in too much herbs that distracted from all the other flavors. In terms of cost, the pizza was too expensive for its quality. What I do recommend are there mozzarella sticks!

After a local recommended this place I had to try and when I saw $32 for a pizza I thought that should be really good! However, it’s definitely didn’t meet the expectations. The place and the atmosphere is good.

Great food

A fabulous dining experience for my family of 5. The staff were friendly and entertaining. The food came out promptly and tasted as good as it looked. The kids meals were just as good as the mains. Then the desserts were decadent and propper Italian desserts 😋

Worst lasagne ever. Looked like soup the minute it arrived, and I thought to give it a try before judging, tasted even worse than it looked. After only one spoon I decided to let a staff member know, who said “sorry we didn’t have any bad compliments about our lasagne today” and asked if she could take the plate away, I said yes. While sorting the bill at the end the lasagne was there, and when I complained that I didn’t eat it, I was told “ it’s not our problem that you didn’t like it, we sold 20 today and no one said anything, and you have no choice but to pay”. Worst customer service definitely do not recommend this place.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Perth and reminds me of my dining experiences in Italy. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! The staff are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can’t wait to return again and I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Perth.

Generous portions, authentic pizza however im not a fan of dried herbs. caprese salad was fantastic. Clean warm environment friendly staff.

We ordered the simple pizza, the toppings were good but unfortunately the crust was slightly undercooked (but still perfectly edible). The gnocchi was creamy and had a good texture! Staff were rlly pleasant and helpful!

Wow, a little gem in the city! we had our end of year financial year diner big group of 30 and the restaurant had the atmosphere and luxurious decoration. The food was fantastic and very authentic, and the pizza crust perfectly crispy. everybody had a fabulous time and the people attending to us were so genuinely attentive and could not do enough. highly recommended

The chicken Parmesan was cooked well and great flavor. The pizza was a fail. It was too soggy in the middle and the ball of mozzarella in the middle didn’t help. Would’ve preferred the cheese to be spread out.

came here with workmates for a birthday, gnocchi was FANTASTIC, loved the rich and mellow flavour of the cheese, mushroom and Italian sausage, the meat was tender and the pasta so soft. mozzarella sticks were divine too, beautiful melty cheese inside crumbed soft crunchy outside! I also got the mango ice blended cocktail which was so good! (though I had to scoop it up with the straws, perhaps it should be served with bigger straws for easier drinking). would absolutely come back to try more dishes!

No sure whether we had a great meal or a bad meal, started off with bad service, we arrived 10 minutes early as we do for all dinners, we told the table wasn’t ready and to come back in 10 minutes, not offered to have a drink or anything just to come back. We sat at a table for two, neither of us could really move with tables behind both of us. We ordered our food and within 5 minutes the entrees were there. Both were nice, plates cleared and within 2 minutes the mains were there. Didn’t really like that, prefer to relax and digest the first course. Desert was ordered and that actually took the longest, around 15 minutes. The food was pretty good, both entrees were good, mains, we had read reviews about the Gnocchi but my wife loves Gnocchi, she enjoyed it, she understood the comments of too floury but wasn’t an issue. The lasagne was very rich, flavours were ok but could only eat half. Not the worst meal and not the best, would we go back, probably yes.

What great service. Our team of 6 visiting from Sydney had dinner here. The staff were attentive, courteous, and prompt. Food was 5 star quality, fresh, flavourful, and delicious with great presentation. Cocktails were phenomenal!! Booking online for our table was easy and smooth, also.

What a great little coffee place! How can you not love the fact they do Biscoff Latte… The decor is so cute and the staff were absolutely delightful! Added bonus was their Spinach and Ricotta roll was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The food is really well priced considering the size and quality. Every mouthful was a delight. If you are in the city then you will not regret stopping in here!

Simple is good. Simple is often enough. And in the case of the cucina named Simple they have absolutely nailed it. This place is worthy of a much more hip location, like Gastown Vancouver or Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, PRC. The atmosphere is lively, young, fresh and just sophisticated enough without leaving you feeling out of your depth; relaxed and good quality.

Great food, love the concept. Run by Italians speaking Italian. The Simple Pizza was delicious and the sausage and mushroom pasta was amazing! Will recommend.

Lovely experience here! I ordered a vegan gf pizza and no joke, it was the best pizza I have had! I also ordered a G&T and as you can see in this image it came as the best G&T I've even been served 😂❤️ absolutely delicious and lovely staff, highly recommend.

Wow what an experience! We went here last night and we were very impressed. The pizza we had was traditionally made with generous toppings & just perfectly the way an Italian Pizza should be with very tasty crust. Also ordered the gnocchi & that sauce, absolutely incredible. Great service as well, the food came out hot and pretty quick. Very friendly staff and the food was reasonably priced as well. Definitely coming back here, keep doing what you guys do best!!

I'll be quick and brief with this survey. The pizza was some of the best I've had in this particular area. They have the best crust that just hits the spot. The sauce and toppings were great as well. Absolutely love the pizza.

Good food and excellent service. A bit noisy inside but you can tell they tried to do something about it at the back, with the wood hanging from the ceiling. Their process for payment could be improved in that the payment can be taken by a cash register other than the one at the entrance, which gets busy with incoming guests. Overall good restaurant though, recommended!

Simple Italian restaurant is a very popular place, as it was fully packed when I got there. The service and the staff were great as was the atmosphere unfortunately the roast potatoes were a disappointment. They looked more like potato wedges and very unroasted but the flavour wasn't too bad. My other dining companions enjoyed their pasta dishes immensely and my dessert of Sicilian Cannoli was divine and stupidly I forgot to take a picture of it.. but I can assure you it was delicious as was the other desserts. Not a bad place to dine but I would like to see the roast potatoes a little more roasted next time.

I went there quite early in the morning. I noticed it first because they had a servery window facing Murray Street with some friendly people behind the bar and a coffee machine. I ordered a coffee and then peeked inside and saw the fine furniture and beautifully set tables in the restaurant. My coffee was excellent and the service was friendly and prompt. I had Bircher muesli that was elegantly served and very tasty on a table set for four inside the restaurant. This was quickly reset for me as a single patron by one of the staff.

Bustling Italian diner in the middle of Murray Street. We had 3 mains and an entree(for the young man). Prices were above average compared to some other Italian places we have been, whilst the portions were decent, not big. The 4 Formagi pizza was nice and thin but had a few spots that were charred probably due to slight inattention whilst churning out the many pizza. The lamb shark was really good. The parmi was standard pub style, nothing special but the young lady wanted it. Tiramisu was ok not special as there was lacking in marsala(or whatever spirit that they use). The creme brulee was the weakest link as the custard was overset. We were set on the high table meant for 8 people. As we were 70% through our meal an older couple was placed inside the end of our table near the wall, it was an inconvenience as I had to stop eating, move out of the way so that the lady customer could squeeze in, as our table was set back towards the bar . The high stool style chair was not really suitable for her as she almost slipped off her chair as it tilted when she was moving in. Consideration for your customers would be good. Not sure if this was a once off occurrence or something the establishment did not consider when seating customers.

Unfortunately didn’t make it to order. The welcome was so rushed and rude. The whole restaurant was empty but ‘booked out’ and we were rushed to be sat outside in the cold with the outdoor heaters off and dirty table. It’s such an unpleasant feeling being treated like that at an apparent highly rated eatery. Very sad to see the customer service so lacking here. So SIMPLE to get it right but so hard for so many to understand the basics of a good reception.

Pizza is excellent. Pasta... average. I've been here twice. Both times, it has been a great experience. The staff are friendly, and prompt. The atmosphere is great. It actually feels like you're in Italy. Their pizza is perfectly cooked, handmade and delicious. The pasta however, isn't too far from what you would make yourself at home. It was good, but not restaurant quality.

Such a Romantic vibe, loved the food. The Lychee martini is like no other. If im not getting proposed too here i will not say yes. Also its a small business in the hospitality industry we just had to support xx.

i feel for the waiters/waitresses they were so amazing , the gnocchi was gluggy floury mess , one took it back to the kitchen and came back saying i tasted it and that's what gnocchi taste like , i said im very sorry i have been a chef for over 20 years husband over 30 years and its not meant to be flour tasting glug , with no taste of truffle oil . the suprema pizza with added mozzarella cheese (not melted at all) and $10 extra wasnt anything to write home about. wine was good 👍 ***EDIT-*** taken an extra star back. if you honestly think your response was appropriate then no wonder i was told to avoid this place!!! the gnocchi was not cooked out, all we could taste was flour! maybe your "chefs" should stop smoking as their taste buds are shot! well done taking the gnocchi off the bill , GET REAL!, we didn't eat it!

It was a nice restaurant and the service was friendly. We come for lunch and big noisy table came and sat right near our table and they offered to move us to another table which was really good.

Simple yet Great! I must say that from the outside this place had catched my eye a couple of times, and I must say that the experience exceeded my expectations. We ordered 2x pizzas, the calamari, a brushetta and dessert. The pizzas were great, the dough was fluffy, with good texture and flavour. The sauce had character, a bit salty a bit acid, good quality. The ingredients were all well proportioned and of obvious quality. I was surprised that the Diabolla was actually a bit spicy!! The calamari were also tasty, they came with a good sauce and the proportion was quite good for the price. The dessert (Tiramisu) was well proportioned but it felt a bit old... And the brushetta was also just not amazing tbh, but the pros more than outweighs the cons.. The service is outstanding and the location just gives you this Toscana vibes through the whole stay... I highly recommended having the dinner inside to achieve this. There were quite a bit of wines, a mix of WA and Italians, good enough to break (or not) the bank at your convenience. A great place overall and one I will definitely can recommend to everyone around. The meal left the four of us pretty full, with a value of less than 60 per head, including drinks!.

Let us begin with the atmosphere. The decor was splended! It wasn't cramped, but inviting. Art on the walls, red lighting around the middle, boxes for shelves, food tins, bottles on and behind the bar. Grapes, olives, it was very inviting. The staff, fantastic, prompt, brief, inviting, non-intrusove. Well dressed, with a smile! That's the reason to visit, now the reason to stay. The food is absolutely fantastic. The menu is very comprehensive, a little bit of everything so you're bound to find what you want. The servings are generous, and the pizza I had was to die for What a treat!

Very attentive staff. We came in for lunch and it wasn't too crowded which was nice. I ordered the tuna and it was amazing. Pan seared on the outside, medium rare on the inside. Just the right amount of olive oil and salt. The dish was very well balanced in terms of taste. 10/10 for the simplicity and taste. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal.

Lovely hot fresh pizza, great service, they even brought out water for our dog, which was really appreciated. Metal bar stools in the alfresco area were a little hard on the derrière, or we would have stayed a bit longer. Does takeaway too, saw the 'doordash' bikes come and pick up quite a few orders in the short time we were there. Inside restaurant was nicely set up, looked like there was plenty of large tables for group bookings.

We arrived on a Friday night without a reservation. The managed to fit us in. Food was to die for and large serves. I had the Affogato for dessert, beautifully presented. Excellent wines and service was fanatic. Certainly going back again.

We visited this great little Italian restaurant on a whim before attending a gig, and man their pizza's are freaking awesome! I only wish we had of had more time to sample more offerings. The 'Simple pizza was divine. Their coffee top notch too! Well done guys, we will be back from sure!!

Loyal customer since last 3 years... probably the best pizza in Australia. Its a jewel in Perth.. must visit! And they have never let me down.. always stick to the basics here .. Blue Moon on tap and a Margarita Pizza gets me sorted! Rustic dough, magically done just right..

We have been meaning to dine at 'Simple' for weeks as a friend told us about this amazing Italian restaurant in the city. Friday night did not disappoint. After a warm, friendly welcome we were shown to our table and the experience began. The drinks arrived in good time and the starters were soon being demolished!!! We had a small break and then onto main course which was rich, wholesome and authentic. Unfortunately we couldn't manage a dessert as we were well satisfied by then but the desserts menu sounded very appealing. We did however have an after dinner celebratory drink for our anniversary. The staff were attentive and took the time to make us feel welcome and valued customers. The decor of Simple was warm and welcoming. A great night, thank you. I would certainly recommend this restaurant and hopefully we'll be able to return and try some of the other delicacies on offer.
