Stunning view to Elizabeth Quay and Swan River, absolutely beautiful. We had a lovely time there with great food, we had lobsters 🦞, soft shell crab bun, baked scallops, Barramundi, pork belly, baked cauliflower, chips and rice, a lot of food. Staff were friendly, a great place for drinks and meal.

Incredible Perth views, the best in Elizabeth Quay. Situated in The Quay hotel on the top floor the beautiful modern relaxed interior invites you to stay for a drink and a few bites. If you opt to stay for a full meal you won't be disappointed with the Asian fusion menu serving top quality dishes at a very reasonable price for a city hotel of its standing.

On a positive, its definitely something different for Perth. We just weren’t that impressed unfortunately. The place itself we found to be a bit too loud, the ambience felt tailored more towards the bar and not the restaurant. The food was ok without being amazing. Lamb ribs were grissly, the pork pancakes were dry and for the price, would have expected more. Barramundi Bao was probably the highlight, they were really nice. The service while friendly, was a little disingenuous and could have been more professional (We had asked for food to come out separately but it all came at once, a chopstick was dropped on the floor with no offer to go get a new one, dirty plates were not removed from the table etc..)

Had dinner at HQ - the location is great with views over Elizabeth Quay. However the prices weren’t cheap and the food wasn’t great. My wife’s Char Siu was tasty but dry, and my rib eye steak was honestly pretty terrible. Chewy and full of gristle - not a nice piece of meat. When you pay $35 for a main and $28 for a side, you expect better food than this. Service was good.

Great service and atmosphere over looking the Swan River at Elizabeth Quay. The menu had a great variety of choices, and the food was good, although I enjoyed the entrees more than mains.

Gorgeous restaurant, the view is spectacular and honestly the food was to die for, this was my first date with my partner and first real meal in Australia and honestly I commend the service and food. I couldn't have asked asked for more, waiting staff went above and beyond and the chef did superb! I'll definitely return.

One of my favourite city restaurants. Located on the top floor of Quay Hotel. You can enjoy pre-dinner drinks on balcony which has the best views of Elizabeth Quay. The food is Asian fusion share plates. I wish it was open for lunch every day as it gets booked out quite quickly.

Hotel bar with a nice view I had some drinks after work here on a Monday, there were some other people around, mainly hotel guests. Great view from the 10th floor, the balcony maybe a bit tight to accommodate a big group outside. Inside there are more tables, most of them set up for the restaurant. Modern music on the background, volume ok for a bar, not sure if they turn it down when dinner starts. Good selection of wine and beers on the menu, also some craft beers which is good. Friendly service, plenty of waiters so you don't have to wait.

Just visited this place. Nice location and friendly staff. However, food is not what's shown on photos. Definitely not from the same chef. Not sure if this is due to the current situation (COVID 19) or false advertising. We had 4 different dishes 3 of them were on Google photos. Looked nothing like it. Not the quality which is advertised. We had the duck. Half of the portion was uncooked and returned. Will I go back? definitely not.

was our daughter's birthday celebration and we were excited to dine there. However, we let down by the foods and drinks that we ordered. The scallops dish listed under mains consisted of four little scallops and two tiny bits of bread with a touch of pate on them, too small for a main. The slow cooked beef ribs were the worst of the night. It was salty, very dry and chewy. Far from falling off the bone or slowl cooked for 16 hours like the menu stated. The salmon tataki were 3 thin slices of salmon about 0.3cm in thickness. The duck dish was also dry. All of their dishes need some sauce on them. To top thing off, their presentation was amateurish and clumsy. Cocktail (blackberry splasher $19) was a waste of money just like the rest of the meals, beer $11 was so so. A very disappointing experience, apart from the great view and good service from floor staff.

We were very disappointed by the food after reading the good reviews here. The chips were soggy, the chicken ribs and scampi were both over cooked and cold... We couldn't eat most of our meal. Sad faces. Location, cocktails and service were great though!

Went for their promotion special of Bottomless bao today. Price was reasonable for $25 pp for unlimited baos ordering. Customer service was great and we got to choose from 3 different varieties (pork, oyster mushrooms or barrumandi). I had 4 sets and was extremely food. Each set comes with 2 x baos of the same kind. Would have been better if the baos were actually steaming hot and to have the sauce on the inside of the bao, instead of drizzling over the top.

Great food, delicious cocktails and amazing food with a sensational view, but possibly the worst service I've experienced. After being seated at our booked table for 7:30pm, we waited for at least 20mins before someone came to see us and take our order for drinks and entree. After finishing our entree and drinks, we waited for at least another 30 minutes before having to go up and get someone to come take our order for mains and more drinks. Mains eventually arrived, and the food was delicious. However about a quarter of the way into eating our meal, the waiter came and told us they are about to close the kitchen and do we want to order desert... We had only just started our main meal which was late because no one served us! We all ordered our desert which was brought out almost as soon as we finished our main meal, not much time to digest! We were told at this point that it was last drinks, at 21:45 on a Saturday night. Interesting decision but it is the venues choice after all. At about 22:05 someone at our table asked for a coffee as we had now finished desert, but was told that last drinks had already been called, despite the fact that staff were still making cocktails. There were numerous other issues throughout the evening, like no water glasses on our table etc, which is a shame as we have been previously on multiple occasions and never had an experience as poor as this! Finally, not sure if it's coincidental or not, but 3 different people in our group who ordered fish dishes were both sick later that evening and early the next morning.

We went for our anniversary and the staff on made it a memorable night. the food was amazing, atmosphere was good and the view was wicked. The scallops were so fat and juicy, the mains were good but my highlight was the scallops. the cocktails were alright, we tried 4 out of the 5. not the biggest fan of some of the combinations but that's probably personal preference.

Nestled within The Hotel called Quay, just across from The Elizabeth Quay, lies a hidden gem of a bar restaurant. Boasting a splendid vantage point, the establishment offers a breathtaking view that guests can savor while seated on the balcony. While the libations may not be unconventional, they tastefully complement the ambiance without causing any distraction.

We went here for a family celebration. The dinner was from a set menu. Pre-booked and discussed with food allergies/ intolerances considered. The food itself was nice, but nothing absolutely noteworthy. The portions were fair for this type of venue. Service was hit and miss. The maître dee was very kind and accommodating. The waitstaff were pleasant and some were meh- maybe a meh day for them? Our table had a guest request coke zero, had to remind waitstaff twice, and also cut chilli’s we needed to remind them a few times as well. Minor points to consider and would not have been a bother had it not added to the other little misses in the dining experience. There was an extremely long wait time in between courses. Which we felt was too long. And getting hungry. Considering our booking was at 6:30pm and the fact that our entrees came out at about 7:30pm (given our table had about 11 adults and 2 children). (It was from a set menu which was discussed by the family member who organised it). The photo of my entree i received is time stamped 7.51pm. My mothers main dish photographed time stamped 8:23pm. My desert of the lemon gelato was generous and delicious. Which I forgot to photograph, but 3 big scoops. Surprisingly. Everyone enjoyed there meal and left happy, but there were some inconsistencies which i hope they will iron out. I would definitely go there for drinks and nibbles but prob not for a sit down meal. The venue and view were very nice with a balcony and view of the quay.

What a delightful venue!!! The food is fantastic. The staff are beyond exceptional!! The views are to die for. We arrived at the venue, having flown in from Darwin, at 9pm and we were very hungry and even though the kitchen was closed they still were able to serve us with something to eat. We have have been there each day and when we return to Perth will be back!! Thank you to all the staff.

What a place! We went there to celebrate a birthday last night. Aside from arguably the best views in Perth, and high class decor and ambience, the food and service were spectacular. The wait staff really knew their products and details of the food in really fine detail, and each dish was amazing. Highly recommend the duck tacos, unusual curly chips, chicken ribs and bao buns for entree. The barramundi was amazing for a main too. A must visit. We will be back!

The food is to die for. Duck tacos and scallops were amazing but the crab bao buns were the highlight. Too good. Mango flan for dessert has to be done. We loved their cocktails too. And you can’t beat the view. It’s breathtaking. Go for a drink on the balcony before or after dinner. 👍🏼

We had a delicious meal last night at HQ. The service was fantastic, Harini was knowledgeable about the menu and able to explain it fully. She professionally and competently handled a very noisy family group with a disruptive child. She remained cool, calm and courteous whilst performing this challenging task. We'll done Harini👏👏

First up, great views. We had a couple of Margaritas which were quite good, then switched to an Orchard Crush Cider which was very watery, no colour and tasted strange. Provided feedback to the bar staff about the Cider and although they did offer another Cider perhaps rather not charging for the dud Cider would have been a better option. Staff friendly and pleasant.

Amazing views of Perth! The service was severely lacking with us having to reorder twice as our orders had not been placed which was extremely disappointing as this happened twice! Shout out to Lauren who remedied the omissions, apologised and had a great disposition. She was amazing, thank you Lauren.

Had a amazing dinner and drinks night here with the family. The food and service was perfect with the staff being very friendly. Drinks were great and brought out fast with little wait times also has a great view of the quay and made for a memorable night out. Definitely recommend this place it's great.

Poor service and terrible food! The dishes don’t come out as described in the menu. I ordered the Barramundi which was meant to come with Chinese vegetables and mushrooms on the side but it came out without any of it. When mentioned to the waiters it wasn’t corrected and no compensation was received either. The beetroot medley is hardly a medley - just one type of beetroot and very bland. On top of it the waiters had no clue about any of the items on the menu. When we asked what was in the “sour mocktail” rather than checking with the bartender we were just told “I don’t know, the bartender uses some ingredients he has”. Would definitely not recommend eating here. Worth coming for a drink though because the view is the only good thing about this place!

So we booked a table at this venue for 830pm on New Year’s Eve. Tried to clarify booking by telephone call using the Google call link receiving a “number not available” message. On the day called hotel and took option to speak to HQ Bar and Restaurant, message said the venue was closed. However the venue was listed as open on Google until midnight so we took a chance and went to the venue. Arrived and seated. Ordered slow cooked beef ribs, noddles and lamb ribs which is 3 separate dishes. All portions are tiny, certainly not enough for an adult. Slow cooked beef was nice but nothing much else on the plate. Noodles were bland, half the dish not eaten and Lamb was so fatty it was not edible. I was asked if we enjoyed the meal and I shared my opinion with waitress and her colleague when we paid. No one really interested and no compensation offered. Table service is only inside and balcony is bar service only. Ordered a drink which included a cocktail that took 20 minutes to receive. At 940pm on New Year’s Eve we were told that bar would close at 10pm despite the venue being advertised as open till midnight!!! The experience was hugely disappointing, we certainly wouldn’t return. Great view of the Elizabeth Quay but poor food and poor inexperienced service with advertised opening times not observed.

The Barramundi from Cone Bay was the best fish I have ever eaten, and I’m not exaggerating - the preparation was perfect! Absolutely delicious. The soft shell crab and the shaved asparagus spears were prepared in tempura batter and these were also fantastic; asparagus in Western Australia is not usually very well prepared but this was outstanding.

It was my first time at HQ Bar and Kitchen restaurant when my friend invited us to a birthday dinner held there. We had a 60 people crowd! I was initially skeptical about the quality of the food as our 60 people crowd was quite a handful to accommodate at one shot. However, the quality of food did not disappoint. It was fusion Chinese-western cuisine. Most dishes had a slight twist to it and they weren’t typical dishes that I will see in other restaurants. before the dishes arrived, I tried the Honey lemon fizz cocktail which was so refreshing! My friend wanted a sour but there wasn’t one on the menu, so the bartender made her a special one! Super fruity and yummy, it had fresh grapefruit and other fruits in it. We were both very impressed that the bartender was so happy and willing to go beyond the menu. Dishes that I recommend: - Seared duck breast with jellyfish - Roasted cauliflower - Five spices shoestring fries - Wet-aged seared beef - Five spice lamb ribs - Salted egg yolk Lava Cake In short, I would highly recommend everyone to go visit the restaurant and enjoy Perth’s pretty city view with extremely delicious food and drinks!
