Wat Nak Prok is a Rat temple. Under the Maha Nikaya Sangha Located on Thoetthai Road, Phasi Charoen District, Bangkok. It has a long history since the early Rattanakosin period. It is assumed that the original name was 'Wat Pok' because it was a community temple surrounded by a gardener's forest. And after that, the temple continued to deteriorate. until only the ruins remain Then, when the late Ayutthaya period - early Rattanakosin There was a Chinese merchant named Phra Boriboonthanakorn. (The magnate Pook Sae Tan) came to do business in Phra Nakhon, Thonburi side, Talat Phlu area. Therefore, it was initiated to renovate the temple to be used as a place for Buddhist ceremonies and activities. In the viharn, there is a 7-headed Naga subduing Buddha image brought from Sukhothai. to be enshrined as the presiding monk Therefore, the villagers call it "Wat Nak Prok".

Not easy to find. Advisable to book a taxi/car for 1-1.5 hrs from City Centre. Drive there is about 20mins from Sukhumvit. Take BTS to Wutthakat (nearest BTS). I went on 15 May 2022, Vesak (Bucha) Day. More people at the temple praying. In a remote district, not easy to navigate for non locals. One of my favourite temple/Buddha to visit when I am in Bangkok.

We visited Wat Nak Prok because my stepson enthused about what a cool place it was and because today was the first day of Songkran. He was right. There was too much to see in one go -- loads of tasteful Buddhas with prayer areas (one negative is no easy way to stand up your yellow candle!) and a shady drink stand with a comfy spot to sip iced coffees. We'll definitely go again.

Beautiful temple dedicated to the mythical nagas protecting Buddha. There are multiple prayer areas. It was crowded on a Sunday during lunch but not so bad. Parking is limited so choose a taxi or other ways to get to this temple.

One of the few Wats that allow you to go underneath the chapel. The wat supports the connected schools so supporting the wat also helps the local children with their education. There's a strong Naga theme in this Wat.
