This place is very unethical. The online menu states that the royal tavern burger comes with fries. When I went to pick up my order, they told me it doesn't anymore. Either update your online menu or treat me fairly and include it for me. I didn't even get the mayo either that's was well known with the royal tavern burger. They also wrap the burger in aluminum foil and by the time I got home, the bread was soggy and unedible. Check the picture and see that glistening water pool on top. The bottom bun was much worse. I have emailed them and just got a snorky response saying I should I have told them to box it when that's what they did before without asking. They also say the fries were taken out from the online ordering. However their website still states it comes with fries and mayo. Like I say, very ethical practice to make a buck

The service is super on point, and the food is out of this world. The Chef's menu is creative without losing any flavor, and I'm not sure which dish I liked more than the other - we ordered like 7 different things. Drinks options are also great, whether you wanna get sloshed or enjoy something fancy.

Went on an absolutely amazing first date here and our server (Stephanie?) She Was AWESOME! they didn't have our reservation for two and they were PACKED. NO TABLES. So she borrowed one from another restaurant and put us next to the live music they had! It was so fantastic. The street was shut down, they had string lights all over, heat lamps, dancing and the food was fantastic. I would recommend to anyone.

Super cool little bar recommended by the hostel I’m staying in. The variety of draught beers and lager was really nice to see and the food was lovely. Our server was amazing! I highly recommend this place if you’re in town and I will definitely be going back.

Wandered in after Lynard Skynard/ ZZ Top concert. Comfortable bar. Discovered delightful PA Dry Cider out of Washington DC. Light & Crushable blend of Northern Spy, Jonathan and GoldRush grown at Peters Orchards in Adams County, PA fermented in stainless with wine yeast.

Edit 3d: I gave this place 5 stars 3 years ago. This place went waaay down hill. Most of its good reviews are from when it was good years ago. Half the whiskeys are gone, the drinks are double the price and half the volume. I asked my waiter to skip my drink order and come back to me after taking the rest of the tables order, never came back to me. Different person served the food, never got a drink the rest of the night. The drink in picture is $18... it's a shot glass with a stem. It's a craft beer millennial hipster waste of money bar. Much better in the area.

A lovely little place! I was in town for work and a friend recommended this - the bartender who served me was very nice, and the place isn't too loud, at least at the time I went. A nice place to unwind with a drink. I can't vouch for their food as I hadn't had it, but I highly recommend the bar!

Authentic pub-by feel! Great service, wide range of beers, loved the gin and cointreau cocktail. Had the Mac & Cheese, jambalaya, and brussel sprouts po boy! Will return.

Was one of the first places we ate while visiting and absolutely loved the food. The burger was really good and juicy. My husband’s nachos were monster (so be careful with ordering a large lol) but the star of the show was the jalapeño hush puppies. Those with the pepper jelly were 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 I enjoyed the Louisville lightning especially at the happy hour price. Be mindful when sitting outside as some people down on their luck may bother you but the waiters will handle it. Would definitely come back

Lots of craft beer to select from and some good eats as well. It is like a mix between Cajun joint and a hipster dive bar.

Went to listen to a specific band, Stone Divide, and thought the sound crew did a great job. The stage is on the second floor. We were able to dine and drink at the table outside before the show. Our waitress was attentive without hovering too much, she was great!

I stopped into this pub with some friends after we saw the Museum of the American Revolution. It was a nice quiet pub to take a break in, after being on our feet for a while. The drink selection was great. I got a nice local semi-dry cider, and an ESB from England on cask. Both were great. The food looked good, but we weren’t hungry. Prices were just about the best I saw in Philadelphia, with some of the drinks only $6. That impressed me, since it was so close to the museums. Some other pubs in the area were charging MUCH more for more mainstream beers. If I was a local, I’m sure I’d stop in regularly. As it is, all I can do is give them a good review.

Great dive bar with good food. I have been a frequent flyer here for quite a few years and have never had a bad meal. Liquor and craft beer selection is pretty good.

Loveee the hamburger and its Smokey taste on the patty. Chilled place. Perfect for going with a group. Good food, good cocktails and lots of beer options.

This is by far the best pub in Old City. Friendly, great beer list. Try the pimento cheese dip. You will want a second one. Live music upstairs occasionally. Not just for the young crowd, a welcome mix of all ages. Good vegetarian choices as well.

Food was delicious! Service was so good everyone was courteous and we never had to ask for anything they checked on us often. I will definitely be coming back. They even made the Caesar salad taste phenomenal. The wings were amazing! 10 out of 10!!!!

Drank beer and had vegetarian food, both were excellent! The slow wink IPA was delicious. The lemongrass tofu sandwich was remarkable and the fried chicken sandwich, that I think was seitan, was also really good. We had the peach/cucumber salad as an appetizer but I could have eaten a couple of them- unusual and light!

Lovely people, great food, I have visited twice so far on my week-long trip. Great folks and a good vibe! I would recommend to everyone!

They're open late and the staff is pretty chill. Drinks are decent and you can usually always find a table. Bacon popcorn and debris fries are tasty.

Very cool place, we went on as part of a pub crawl and overall had a great time. Service was very fast and they had a good variety of beers

Their vegetarian options are unique and well done. Plus they open earlier than most other places in the area. Beer selection is also awesome and varied. Has become almost our first choice when near the Olde City area. Love it.

I was drinking here on my own and it was friendly and welcoming. The beer list is very well-curated and they even have cask ale - the first time I drank it in the States. I was in town to see a live show by the band W.H. Lung and am a music snob. Chelsea's playlist coming out of the speakers was brilliant - half the songs I knew and the other half nearly wore out my Shazam.

First time in town and I came a cross this gem. They have delicious vegetarian food. My partner and I ordered the miso jackfruit sandwich and vegan chicken triple cheese. I even order some pecan bread pudding to go. Will definitely come back on my next visit.

One of our go to places in that neighborhood. Good food and service. Lots of outdoor seating. Great people watching. They do need to bring back the boiled peanuts and the fried Green tomato BLT!

I got the Cajun shrimp & he got the Tavern Burger. The fries were really good, the burger was good. My shrimp was amazing-- loved every bite. We ordered drinks off menu & had no problem (vodka lemonade & a rum & coke). Our waiter was nice and patient-- the menu is small & everything sounds good.

Must stop in for a visit. Pub burger is the best burger that I have ever had. Great addition to our National History trip.

We had a drink and a quick bite after a movie. Just right. Both were very good, and the service was excellent. An old favorite, from way back when we were much younger.

Best burger and service! Love this neighborhood joint. They were one of the first to be opened at the beginning of the pandemic and I have supported them ever since. The best!

Khyber Pass is always a good time. The staff is super laid back, the food always tastes so fresh and natural, the beer menu is extensive and sourced from local breweries and the music playlist is downright awesome. This is by far one of my favorite places in the city. Plus their BBQ is amazing.. smoked right on the premises and full of flavor. And to top it off?.. the prices are great. Cheap bills for high quality foods with great portions and a laid back ambience? What more could you ask for?.. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

The smoked chicken wings are unbelievably good: the meat falls off the bone in a way I’ve never experienced. On top of that, the atmosphere of the bar is one of the best in the city.

The only place with vegan food AND meat that both completely rule. Seriously, if you haven’t already been, you’re missing out. Great beer too!

Cool little dive bar. The bartender was super friendly and attentive. Food was good, beer was cold. They even had a CD juke box with some good tunes and its in a great location.

Unbelievable amounts of vegan options! I've never had a hard time deciding on what to eat because there's usually not a lot to pick from. There's at least 5 vegan items on the menu and they all sounded delicious. And the one I went with was amazing. It was quite loud and the server and I could hardly hear each other but that's honestly the only complaint I have, and it wasn't their fault. Very enjoyable place with amazing music

After years of living in Queen Village and searching high and low, I finally found the exact vibe I have been craving. A massive thank you to Gabrielle for providing the best service to my out of town guests, she had us laughing the entire time and didn't miss a beat with our orders or requests. 11/10!

Good food and drinks, but mediocre service (likely pandemic related). The jambalaya and bacon popcorn were both very good. The Pimm’s Cup was very refreshing. The Hurricane is a passion fruit version, which I thought was a little weird.

Came in for Sunday Brunch. Got two mimosas($8 each), two Breakfast #56($11 each), and an order of beignets($7). Prices were very reasonable for the amount and quality of food. I was a little bummed that they were out of biscuits at the time. But, other than that, no complaints. Food and service were solid. Thank you for a little reminder of New Orleans.
