Went for restaurant week and it was the perfect choice. My salad that was beet and strawberry’s it had the most amazing dressing. I had a fish (maybe trout) and it had perfect roasted vegetables on some sort of barley base. It was a mix of delicious flavors. The desert was a warm chocolate brownie cupcake that could not of been more tasty. My husband had a different meal and his was perfect also. The service was great also.

This is definitely a more upscale option for Brunch/Lunch/Dinner. The service is amazing from start to finish and we had a great time. The food is delicious and I recommend the French Omelette!

An overall eloquent casual vibe. No rush or pressure to hurry thru a meal. Very European. The best half chicken in Philadelphia. Wonderful tastes and texture. The carrots and sauce were exactly the right compliment. Wonderful Menu selections in every course.

Amazing service!!! First of all, I have to start with how friendly the staff was at the restaurant. They were accommodating 7 of us without reservation on busy Thursday night. They were very attentive and even split the check for us (not just evenly, but actually by what we ordered without us asking for it!) Ok, and food was also delicious. While I do wish they had appetizers, food was actually well portioned to share during the meal. We had oysters which were fresh, burgers were delicious but I recommend it without sauce included. Highly recommend it!!

Great food and presentation, however definitely over priced (yes, COVID prices are a real thing). To speak specifically to the food — Gougeres - great filling flavor plus nice and crunchy Octopus ‘Lyonnaise’ - good flavors but the texture was a little chewy Sausage and green - fine? The dish wasn’t overly exciting or interesting Beef tartare - fine, nothing special Pork chop - massive bone-in pork chop, good amount of vegetables, overall solid dish Grilled fish - in an amazing sauce, but very minimal other vegetables/ pieces to the dish Whole fish for two - great flavor, but it’s not deboned so tons of bones to pick through (aka don’t bother)

Very cute restaurant and we were able to get in during lunch rush pretty quickly. The service was a little slow and my burger was super undercooked but everyone else at my tables food was cooked perfectly so I would still recommend trying this restaurant out!

Enjoyed brunch at a.kitchen recently. Gave the Cornmeal Pancakes a try while my girlfriend tried the Bavette Steak Frites. We both really enjoyed our dishes but the pancakes were a highlight. I typically don’t even like lemon-flavored dishes but these made me a believer. The side of bacon I ordered was definitely too salty for my liking on its own. It probably would have tasted better with eggs but I would have never finished all that food considering how heavy the pancakes were. I also had a spin on a peach bellini which tasted delicious. Will definitely be back to try out dinner soon!

Great foods and drinks. We enjoyed everything. Bread was awesome, mussels and sausage were great. Hamburger was good but too greasy. Fries were really good too.

We had brunch here for New Years Eve and it was wonderful. The overall atmosphere was casual yet comfortable. We started with the grilled salad which was so flavorful. The chef was able to make a simple butter pasta for our daughter who absolutely loved it! I had the mushroom bolognese with spaghetti, which was perfectly aldente. The fish of the day was flavorful. Make sure to make a reservation because it’s so worth it

If you are not a vegetarian, please take this review with a grain of salt since we did not taste the meat dishes. We ordered three things - the gougères, crispy oyster mushrooms and the panisse. The gougères were bland. Not only did they lack any flavor whatsoever, but they also weren’t seasoned adequately. For a dish that sounds so good on paper (choux puffs stuffed with cream and cheese) we were extremely disappointed and despised the dish. The crispy oyster mushrooms were….well crispy oyster mushrooms. They did not have any flavor that stood out because the aioli served with them was also just okay. My issue with this one was that they had a meaty taste which seemed like it was a result of frying them in the same oil as meat. Panisse was good because it was served with this lip-smacking creamy eggplant dip in the base alongside some cherry and sundried tomatoes. The panisse themselves could do with more seasoning and adding some herb to the chickpea batter would have taken it to the next level. I have had the real deal in South of France (the place where it originated) and adding herbs to the panisse makes a monumental difference in the flavor. We ended up spending ~$35 per person for three dishes which was absolutely not worth it. My advice to the management would be to season these dishes to add some more flavor and price them appropriately. As for all vegetarians reading this review - give this place a miss. You aren’t losing out!

Restaurant should be a place to eat, not supposed to be like wine tasting. I surfed through reviews before arrival, and still surprise with the portion they served. I understand inflation is bad recently but dine here make me feel like it's 2040. Taste isn't something special to write home about either. Would not recommend.

We went here for restaurant week and the ambiance was very calming. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and explained all the items. All the food was very satisfying. The clams and ricotta were exceptional.

Wow!!! That liver appetizer is like a good drug!!! Our server, whom I believe was named Elizabeth or Ashley (sorry too much fantastic wine) was super knowledgeable and excellent at her job! Even though I don’t live here, I would come back to Philly just for this restaurant!

My fav lil spot in Philly. Any time I am in for a work trip this is my first stop. The team, the food, the vibe, the wine, everything is always so consistent and smooth. The menu changes frequently which is great. Don’t sleep on the kitchen counter spots — my favorite place to sit in the restaurant!

First timer here and really enjoyed dining here. The ambiance is very nice - dim light but not too dark. The food there was very good - good for sharing a few dishes. I particularly enjoyed the gougères and the bavette steak. Flavors as well as cooking was very good. The gnocchi dish was a bit on the heavier side but also very good. For dessert, the chocolate tahini cake was great. Service was also good - waitress was very pleasant.

Great food and even better service. Our server was very helpful in letting us know which menu options were gluten free (a lot!). We also sat overlooking the kitchen and you could her the kitchen staff confirmed orders with nut or shellfish allergies--I would feel comfortable eating here with a food allergy. The two of us shared four plates and it was the perfect amount of food. The crispy oyster mushrooms were our favorite.

I stumbled upon this place while on a business trip. I was looking to eat something with a lot of vegetables and this place did not disappoint. We were immediately seated outside which was really lovely with the warm weather. Our server was incredibly sweet and walked us through the menu and explained all of the vegetarian dishes that were available for me to get. I ended up having this amazing dish that was a tomato based chutney with asparagus, artichoke, peas, radish and a sauce sprinkled on top. All the vegetables were incredibly fresh and the dish was delicious.

As one of Philadelphia’s top 50 restaurants, it was great to get the opportunity to dine here. It started off strong with the crispy oyster mushrooms. These were followed by cheese filled puffs gougeres. My octopus and bacon lardons were slightly overcooked in my opinion. My branzino was excellent with the crispiest skins I have ever had. My friend had the famous burger and thought it was just okay (missing something). Service was excellent and our seating was good! Overall I would say a very good but surprisingly not excellent!

Food: GOOD. We only tried a few apps with our drinks. And they were decent and reasonably priced for being center and close to Rittenhouse Sq. Drinks: EXCELLENT. Beautifully crafted and tasty. It was the highlight! Service: EXCELLENT. Atmosphere: FUN. We sat outside on the sidewalk. It was very cute and fun. Overall: I would come back.

Yummy food. Loved the food and the service. Chef knows how to cook and staff know how to make guests feel comfortable. Kids loved the pancakes and shareable. Potatoes were yummy. Jonida served us and she was wonderful.

Awesome food and cocktails. Great service. The best dinner we had during our trip to Philly. The food is worth its weight in gold.

The a.kitchen was an excellent restaurant in Rittenhouse area of Philly. The food was super fresh and tasty, the prices, were definitely on the upper end of most diners bracket.

A.kitchen is by far one of the best restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of dining at in Philadelphia! My boyfriend and I have been going out to different restaurants in Philly for 5 yrs now, a.kitchen is definitely one of the most memorable. We sat at the chefs counter which was really cool, we were able to watch the chef and su chef cook all of the meals. The entire restaurant had a warm vibe, and everyone who helped us was really pleasant! Lastly, our food was outstanding, I ordered the short rib and my boyfriend ordered the half chicken. The short rib melts in your mouth and the chicken was so tender and perfectly seasoned. Highly recommend both meals! Oh…and heavy pours on the wine…yes pls!

The experience was overall good. I went here as part of the restaurant week in Philly. Nothing really blew me away but everything was good. Don't think I'll be returning any time soon, but I do recommend you try it out to see if it's up your alley.

One of my favorite breakfast spots in the city. It’s a small space with an open kitchen and a big window for people watching. I’ve had a few dishes here - all great. The little bar is also a nice place to be alone with your thoughts.

Went there for brunch. Good location with outside seating. But that’s about the only good thing here. Food is average overpriced bistrot fare. Service was pretty mediocre. You’re better off strolling a few steps to Parc. At least they give you bread with your meal.

We're so thrilled we choose a.kitchen for our anniversary dinner. The cocktails were well-crafted and the food was out of this world. We can't recommend it enough—the chicken liver mousse with the popover, the chickpea panisse, the burger, and more. Additionally, Jessica was a thoughtful and kind server and we thank her for assisting us in having a fantastic meal and experience. We look forward to returning again!

Delightful and delicious. Fresh, interesting, and varied menu, a little for everyone. Friendly staff and extraordinarily accommodating to my requests. Just enough asking of how I was, but not overdone. Indoor and covered outdoor seating. Hope to return soon!
