Our first impression was short staff. We waited about 15 minutes for a table. Andy was excellent at multitasking, serving both as host and waiter. He made sure to take care of us while making sure other tables were happy. The sushi was delicious, fresh and tasty. It was overall an excellent service and food experience. Please get Andy more help. I hope he is appreciated in your restaurant.

My friend and I went to grab a bite to eat near the Phoenix Convention Center. And I had been craving sushi rolls since forever -it's hard to find good California rolls in Korea. That's why. Anyway the owner was a sleek sushi master! My server was delightful, and service was great. I would revisit not only for great service but also for the equally great food! 잘 먹었습니다^^!

I can legitimately say this is the best quality sushi I've had in the valley. The sashimi literally melted in my mouth. I had not one, but two people come by to make sure we got our drink orders in. Service was great. My wife and I will definitely be coming back! Also, I'd recommend the Mt. Fuji and Oh My God rolls. They were delicious!

Quite filling, flavorful rolls. We had the cucumber (our favorite), dynamite, and dragon speciality rolls. One roll per person is plenty. Nice, friendly service with great recommendations. They also offer a variety of rotating lunch specials, which give a nice taste of what Harumi has to offer. Will definitely stop by again next time I’m in Phoenix.

We we're confused about where to eat and came into look at the menu. One of the waitress explained the best items in the menu and assured us that the food was good. We we're sold and ate at the restaurant. Out eyes were bigger then our stomach's and we order 3 rolls each, only to realize the rolls were bigger then we expected. All the rolls were very good and so was the service.

This was my second time in the hunt for a good sushi ? my colleague helped me in selecting the menu, tried the shrimp tempura sushi roll and Spicy Tuna tempura sushi roll. Both were excellent choice and I loved them to the core. Definitely recommend this place ?

Yum! Yum! We were a little surprised by the purple rice but the rolls were all delicious!!! The gyoza was the best! Everything was scrumptious!! I would definitely go there again and highly recommend. Atmosphere was nice but place needs some sprucing up. Of course once u start eating it doesn't matter what it looks like.

If I could give them over 5 stars I would give them 100 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The BEST in Pheonix. Probably the best sushi place I have ever been in the states, with wonderful servers, super reasonable prices, and most importantly, the delicious food. Been there twice, I waited about 30 mins both times, totally worth it. Every bite was surprise, every kind of sushi row was special. I couldn’t named every row I ordered, but if u want a super cool experience, YOU MUST ORDER Oh MY GOD row. And also my fav was super crunch shrimp, it’s soo creamy and nice. 大推薦,必須來,絕對不後悔。想給他100顆星

Went here for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the sushi! Ambiance is lacking, took a while to have a server come assist us BUT the rolls are on point. We tried the oh My God, dynamite, spicy tuna and yellow fin. Wish they had more drinks beyond sake and beer

I don’t leave a ton of reviews but I hit this place on a whim and had my mind blown. Best effing cheeseburger I’ve had in ages, hands down, and it’s really tough to find a good burger in this area. Staff was friendly, attentive, and professional. Will definitely be coming back to try some more complex dishes and see what the experience is like outside of lunch.

Randomly hopped in one day after hanging out in downtown one morning and was pleased with my experience. Everything was good and fresh and their service was great. Had 3 sushi rolls and 2 apps for 2 people.

There are many amazing sushi places in AZ. This one is just a tier above the rest! Their sushi is amazing and the experience is even better! They create a fun experience and photo moments on it all. They want to teach you about sake and have flights to grow your appetite. Will definitely be back.

I can honestly say this might be the best sushi I've ever had. I've had sushi all over the globe and never thought sushi in the desert would taste like this. Kudos to you Harumi. Whatever you're doing keep it up. Can't wait to come back! Authentic green tea too.

Fantastic experience at this downtown gem! I went during a lunch meeting in the middle of the week. So you can understand how this spot got busy. Food was crafted differently but executed nonetheless.

First this place is super small and fills up quick for lunch and dinner. It doesn’t have the greatest ambiance either. However the food is very good! We ordered a few rolls (dynamite and OMG) which were both good but the real star was the Omakase, it’s a platter that the chef prepares and serves. It had a little bit of everything as far as sashimi and nigiri with their signature black rice.

Fantastic quality sushi, great place to try saki, and the ambiance comfy posh. Koi is a fantastic waiter and makes the most amazing recommendations! Try the Arizona roll and the spicy edamame for a sweetly hot marvel that melts in your mouth!

Good sushi! This place is not fussy and has a simple yet authentic feeling decor. Not to long a wait, worth any wait, creative dishes, attentive wait staff in a great location. There is the cute purple rice and my favorite is the ‘sex in the city’ roll. If you like cream cheese, it is lightly fried and in soy paper; delish.Quirky little area in the rear before restaurant just before the bathroom to sit, lounge or take cool pictures. I will return,,, May do a play then dinner here

Fantastic quality in both rolls and Nigiri. I’ve had quite the variety in my time, and the attention paid to presentation as well as quality of ingredients is one of the best I’ve experienced in Arizona. Highly recommend their smoked roll; it’s phenomenal. The sake flights are incredible value as well - also recommended! Top 3 without a doubt.

Best sushi in AZ by far! Their Omakase combo and Harumi roll were incredible. The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable - I’ll update my review with his name next time I dine in. This place is in high demand so be prepared for a bit of a wait, but I’m excited for them to move across the street to a bigger location! If you’re on a budget, check out their lunch time specials for really great deals.

If you want to spend $100, there are better quality places if you are a serious sushi eater. We got multiple orders of sashimi, the yellowtail and sashimi appetizers were not even cut properly, they were all still attached to each other. This is pure laziness. The salmon still had bones in it. The sashimi also had a soapy taste. I feel as though they don't sharpen their knives as often as they wash them but unfortunately they were also too lazy to properly dry and rinse them.

Great place for sushi with very efficient service. We were a bit put off by the exterior of the place and the address doesn’t match the entrance...same building but around the corner. Once inside, we were told that there was a wait. The wait was short and the food amazing. They moved people in and out quickly but with a smile. Loved the vibe, the food and the service. I enjoyed it, got a couple of rolls to go and they were very good. Well packaged and it wasn't a long wait as it was 40 minutes for a table.

Sushi is so delicious here! And the sticky rice is purple! You are greeted as soon as you enter and catered to the whole time while there. It's reasonable price during happy hour especially for such quality sushi.

Sushi, dumplings, and Mochi were all delicious. Red bean mochi is a must try. This place is very reasonably priced as well. The service was also super fast and friendly. Was seated within 10 minutes on a Sunday night — it was pretty busy.

Some of the best sushimi in Phoenix. The Ahi Tower is a favorite of mine too. They also almost always have uni in stock which is a rare find around here. A bit of a small place so you may have to wait, especially with COVID but it's worth it. Highly recommend!!

Delicious! Big rolls. Super Friendly service. The OMG roll is awesome! Sweet BBQ that’s cooked table side. Small location expect at least a 20 min wait. Quick service.... they were on the ball and ready to please. Left full and happy.

Went for weeknight dinner. Didn’t have to wait for seating, staff was wonderful, and food was delicious! Highly recommended and will definitely be going back. From the vegetable tempura, Phoenix roll, and OMG roll…just tasty!! I also ordered the California roll and sweet potato roll for takeout. My daughter loved them; especially the purple rice. Everything was just so fresh and high quality. I can see why it’s so popular and could get really busy. Having gone I’d wait for a table. Can’t wait until they get to move across the street into the larger space. Best sushi I have had in Phoenix so far.

Loved it! Never had fish that tasted this fresh before. Had plans to order 2 rolls and ended up on 3. But it was so good, we added 2 more. I'd go back daily if I could! Everything I had was delicious, but my two favorites were blue fin tuna roll and the oasis roll.

Perfect place to fill your guts with Sushi! Harumi Shushi & Sake in Phoenix, Arizona, has it all, from very spicy Wasabi to practically 95 reviews of the amazing Purple Rice that I did. Originally I wasn’t sure about the Purple Rice, thought I’d give it a go, then after I had a bite of it, I wanted more, and that’s how good it was ?. Everything on my plate was gone, and that’s when you would’ve seen that I enjoyed my meal ?.

Awesome food with an exceptionally quick and well disposed staff. Love the utilization of the dark rice instead of the customary rice. This spot has been moved to the head of my rundown for most loved sushi eatery. We will be returning. I strongly suggest the Finding Nemo roll.

During covid it's been difficult to get the same quality of food you're used to when dining out, but Harumi did not disappoint! Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. They have top notch service with the ability to put your order in online so that it's all packaged and ready by the time you get there to pick it up. 10/10 will eat here again. They are all around a phenomenal restaurant, and a must try spot!

Fast, AMAZING HANDROLLS, and always really kind staff. Even the customers sitting down. They have a cool seating style, where you sit at the bar and wait for someone to leave if it's full but if your eating/sitting down- They never rush you or take too long. Which says a lot this being the QUICKEST lunch spot in dtla. Especially when it's like 2 or 3 PM. I LOVE IT HERE

For the most delicious sushi in Arizona, come to Harumi Sushi. We take the family and we take our business associates to enjoy the indescribably delicious sushi rolls. Our Harumi Sushi Tuesdays are legendary. Our favorite rolls include the "Oh, my G-D roll, oasis roll, spider roll, and the seared salmon roll. The sashimi is fresh and tasty, the Udon soup has the right blend of spices. Yum.

Harumi Sushi in downtown Phoenix is a gem in the middle of a very busy area. The place is small so expect a wait on the busiest times. The food, however, is well worth any problems you may have getting in. My wife and I had traditional hand rolls which were some of the best we've ever had. Service was also excellent and the process were typical for this style of eating. Expect to also have a difficult time finding parking, typical for DT Phoenix.

The staff at Harumi are awesome. Uber Eats (awful DO NOT USE) never picked up my $60 order from Hurumi. The driver brought me food from another resturant and left it at my door. Harumi closed 10 minutes after it was delivered. When I called they knew who I was and offered to stay after closing giving me time to catch a Lyft and pick up my (re-made) order. Although I had to spend an additional $15 to pick up my food at no fault to the Harumi, it warmed my heart the humanity in trying to correct someone's else's error will keep me as a valued patron. Great Job Harumi...look forward to my next sushi roll!

I am Celiac and I find it to be a game of Russian Roulette when I order from restaurants, as most don't necessarily appreciate the allergy to gluten as an actual condition. I placed an order with Harumi through Uber Eats and selected predominantly gluten-free dishes with one exception (which was for my wife who is not allergic). I made a note of my allergy in the notes section and, only minutes later, received a call from Hannah to review the order and make sure that I knew there was an item that contained gluten. OUTSTANDING customer service and attention to detail!! Truly above and beyond what I have come to expect when ordering through a delivery app during a time when we otherwise would have gone and eaten in their lovely, vibrant dining room. 5 well deserved stars for Hannah and the restaurant that cares so much for every patron, not just the ones at the physical table. Hats off, Hannah and Harumi!

Very good restaurant with excellent vibes, great service and delicious cuisine. Their grilled tomato soup on the bread is amazing and the grilled cheese is very cheesy. Their signature fried chicken was also absolutely outstanding, crispy and very juicy A+. My guest had a flat iron steak that he said was good, not as planned.

Second time at this place and cannot praise it enough. Staff is exceptional, attentive, and friendly. Food has always been extremely tasty and very well priced for larger portion sizes. Cocktails are very unique and atmosphere is relaxed and beautiful. COVID friendly as well...tables are spaced out and witnessed staff actively cleaning everything well. Wine selection is fantastic and great take on southern comfort foods. I sound overly excited for this place but it really is worth it.

Went for the first time today, and service was impeccable. I got the cheese grits and shrimp, and the sauce with the shrimp was excellent and my grits were creamy but kinda bland, and really thin. I am partial to thicker grits with a more pronounced cheese flavor. But would come back when they have a fuller menu with more options.

Drinks are nice, food is good, atmosphere outside is great.. Just the wrong price point for what we got. Didn't feel particularly welcome, nothing rude but it felt like they were hoping to flip the table asap. Can't give it a 3.5, but wouldn't feel right leaving 3 stars. Overall no major flaws, but I feel like I should have felt some "wow!" for my dime - Left feeling more like "meh".

We had a great dining experience this evening! The staff we're friendly, professional, the waiter had great knowledge of the menu, and the restaurant was immaculate! We both ordered a fried chicken plate and it was delicious! It paired really well with a side of hot sauce to dip the meat in. We ordered an appetizer of the dirty rice balls that taste about as creole style as it gets with a dipping sauce update that paired really well. Definitely will be coming back to eat at your restaurant as it's a perfect date night spot!

This is our neighborhood spot and we’re very lucky to live nearby because Southern Rail is a gem! It’s incredible, 5 stars across the board. Excellent service every time, food is top notch & decor is beautiful. Plus, the best bookstore in Phoenix (Changing Hands) is right next door.

We were impressed. The restaurant is beautiful. There were several unique items on their menu. The pimento cheese and toast was amazing. The fried chicken was the best I've had in AZ.

  • 2/5 Paul E. 3 years ago on Google
Way overpriced. Small portions, especially during this financial crisis. A thousand cooks, super huge kitchen and then this tiny slice of salmon for $30+ ? Come on, man. You're not inside the Ritz Carlton or on a beach in Miami. You're on Camelback near 7th Avenue! Get over yourself.

LOVE the Fried Green Tomatoes with Pimiento, the fried Chicken, and the Southern classic drinks. They had a fantastic Derby Party last year, and hopefully 2021 will see a return to that with Mint Juleps and a fun and festive atmosphere. very nice restaurant and ambience

This was my first time eating here. I love their door so much!! So I ordered chicken which came with mashed potatoes & collard greens. My plate was 1. Gorgeous, 2. Huge serving sizes ( xlg order of potatoes, collard greens & 4 jumbo pieces of chicken) & the chicken had the Best Coating ever!! My date had the Meatloaf over mashed potatoes & veggies!!! We both shared & completely had another full serving for another meal!! Please go you will definitely Enjoy your dinner!

Amazing experience, there is live Jazz Music at the patio on Sundays staring at 5pm - is best to make a reservation with Jason, great food try the jambalaya plate (New Orleans style), and the local Wine is the best deal by the bottle. Plenty of parking and safe environment. We definitely are coming back for more!

The like the ambience of the restaurant. The food is good and the customer service is great! I really enjoy the Jamabalya and Jazz on Sundays.

I heard about their fried chicken and glad I was able to try it out, it was delicious and so flavorful. The potatoes and the sweet tea made it even more worthwhile.

The outside atmosphere is really nice Sanz the noise from Camelback Road. The mixed drinks here were solid. The Fried chicken was good and crispy, breading seasoned well. Was surprised to get corn when the menu said sautéed veggies. BF got the gumbo, which was also good but more like a thicken sauce on shredded chicken than a stew. He said the sausage was the hilight. The cake was too sweet for me-but that's just a small thing. Over all, it's pretty good food but the reason I can't really recommend it is the price point. $26 for the fried chicken in the image below doesn't feel right. Especially since I can't eat it all. I would prefer smaller portion options. If there there was a decently priced happy hour, id come back for that.

This place is really cute, the vibes are great. I came here for an anniversary dinner. After reading the reviews I was extremely excited to try the food, the burger my boyfriend ordered was a little on the burnt side, the waiter did not ask for how the burger should be done. Aside from that, the fries tasted as if they were defrosted. The macaroni and cheese I ordered with bacon on top was mediocre, the bacon was a little on the burnt side as well; I was very excited to try and must say I was disappointed with the taste of the food. All in all, I had a good time on my anniversary dinner, the monsoon cocktail I ordered was delicious. The waiter did not seem enthusiastic at all to be there, he only checked on us once throughout our whole time there, it was not very busy so we had to flag him down when we needed something. Perhaps next time when their menu is not limited I will go again and give it another try, it’s a very pretty spot to go to especially outside with the lights.

Cool place along the light rail with a strong mid-century-modern feel to it. Menu is somewhat limited and a bit pricey but the drinks are worth every penny and the staff are great.

A long wait on a Friday night. The place is fairly small, but service was not too slow once we ordered. The sushi portions are pretty big, so we had a lot to take home. Plus they gave us a complimentary OMG sushi. The sushi was fine, but nothing screamed “great” to me. Probably wouldn’t return if the wait was 75 minutes again.

Harumi Sushi is synonymous with amazing! Top quality ingredients, prepared with finesse. With just one visit and $160 dollars worth of sushi later...my favorite. The yellowtail carpaccio was incredibly good. A must have for sure! All dishes will expand your palette both visually and taste :). Impressed by the consistency of the cuts, that chef must have an incredibly sharp knife and skill! Enjoy!!

Best sushi I've ever had! Fresh and beautiful. My sis and I shared 4 or 5 different rolls and we ate all of them. I wish I had taken more pics but we were so excited when we saw our food I barely had time! We were sat immediately (around 1pm on a Friday), service was pretty quick and staff was helpful and friendly. I would absolutely visit this place again if I find myself back in the area.

If you're downtown looking for a sushi restaurant to satisfy your cravings, look no further. I love the unique purple rice style and flavor. My personal favorites are Hot Havana for spice, dynamite for flavor, and Arizona due to my preference of cream cheese. The service was friendly and attentive. My only gripe was that the drinking water was odd tasting. However, I didn't show up for a water review. A new larger location is coming soon across the street. I can't wait.

This place is amazing! The food is so good and the staff are really friendly! The service is great too. One of the rolls we got was lit on fire at the table. It was so cool! There are vegan options too, which is awesome. The wait is kind of long though. I think we waited about 45 min for a table.

Went today with my friend and immediately upon entering, everyone was so friendly! We sat at the sushi bar and had great conversations with David, who artfully curated two omakase boards for us. SOO DELICIOUS and sooo fresh. Out of a lot of places in Phoenix and Tucson, Harumi really does taste like quality sushi! We also ordered two rolls and I definitely think that the spicy yellowtail one stuck out the most compared to the other, but everything still tasted delicious!! 10/10 will return :-)

The food was well worth the wait. The servers were prompt, the hostess was kind even when the wait was nearing and hour. Specialty rolls were well priced and you could taste the quality! The Oh My God roll lived up to the name! They are in progress of expanding to a new space across the street. Can’t wait to go back!

A bit of a wait but I could totally see why they were so busy when we received our first plate of food. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. Definitely recommend as this will probably take our #1 favorite sushi restaurant!

So happy I finally tried Harumi! I have to be very careful at sushi restaurants because I am extremely allergic to shellfish, but Harumi did a great job at preparing my food in a careful manner. They answered any questions I had about how their sushi is prepared and took the steps to make sure my order was not cross contaminated with shellfish. Finally a place very close to me that has quality sushi that is safe for me to eat! The sushi is prepared beautifully too, the purple rice really adds a uniqueness factor. You can tell the sushi is fresh by the quality of the fish. I wish they had more vegetable options or shellfish-free options on their menu but I am still impressed with what I was able to try. Will make coming here apart of my weekly routine.

Eating here is an amazing sushi experience the atmosphere is amazing just beautiful everybody is friendly the food is great just overwhelming it's like a party in your mouth everything is fresh everything is made to your order if you want to eat real Japanese sushi this is the place you has the most amazing diverse menu of different types of sushi rolls of the Japanese culture as far as I see and understand from my multiple visits my experience is like a new adventure every time from the drinks to the food to the dessert.

Sushi is exquisite! From the fresh, melt-in-your-mouth fish to the perfectly seasoned rice, every bite is a culinary delight. The presentation is a work of art, and the attention to detail in each roll or nigiri is impeccable. The flavors are well-balanced, and the quality is unmatched. A true 10-star experience for sushi enthusiasts! 🍣🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Found this sushi kingdom on a lucky search. Got on the waitlist and waited with tons of other folks wondering if this wait would be worth it. Flavorful sushi rolls, poke bowl was the best we have ever had. Purple rice? Must try. Playing was beautiful. Sushi was fresh and we ate way too much for our own good. Will be back.

Best Sushi in Arizona! Incredible rolls! Fantastic Goyza appetizer! The Oh My God roll with its smokey flavor was the best roll I have ever had. It comes out and gets lit at the table to cook in the smokey flavor. The purple colored sushi unique to this restaurant also added some flair and color to the meals. Service was also the best I have had at a restaurant in a while to top things off. They stopped by no less than 8 times while we leisurely ate at the sushi bar. The restaurant seems small, but there are 2 side to the restaurant with the kitchen in the middle so there was plenty if setting. We were seated immediately even though they were busy.

Service was on the slow end, and it was not busy when we were there. The sushi quality and freshness were on point. This is their new location and it's very nice on the inside with large windows for natural light

Great place for sushi and Japanese drinks! Tasty salmon rolls and there are plenty of vegan and beginner friendly options for picky eaters. I enjoyed Sapporo and my friend had their sweet plum wine. We didn't wait that long but it was on a Sunday night, wait staff are super friendly.

Excellent izakaya experience in the center of Phoenix. Expect a pleasant, slightly lively atmosphere for a late dinner on a weeknight. Our party ordered a variety of dishes including appetizers, nigiri, and a variety of rolls. Service was extremely quick. Everything was excellent, suited to our tastes. High quality fish. The kitchen made one small mistake regarding a special request but it was easily remedied. All in all, our large party enjoyed this restaurant.
