Can't share enough about how amazing this little slice of heaven is. Coffee, tea, bagels, cookies everything is super high quality and delicious. The staff is ALWAYS polite and such a joy to interact with. Daily stops are the highlight of my week. 10/10

After a long flight and an even longer night woke up this morning to no coffee pot in my Airbnb. We found this wonderful Gem of a place that completely changed our morning around! Evan made the experience even better with his warm vibrant and friendly personality!

This place is really special. We walked, but the drive through looks quite fun and convenient. We all got coffees and were quite happy. I had a bagel (probably one of the better ones I’ve had out west) along with a cinnamon bun (INCREDIBLE) and a PB Whoopie pie. I’d highly recommend a stop by this area if you’re in the neighborhood.

Amazing local inclusive coffee shop and bakery that I am obsessed with. An incredible variety of ice teas and you can get free refills all day long, how can you beat that! The staff are amazingly friendly and kind, and everyone that comes to this coffee shop says hello. I’m a lifer and could not recommend this establishment more.

I needed a morning pick-me-up since I live in Queen Creek but drive down to Phoenix for work. I wanted a good bagel and coffee, so I looked this place up near my work. I went with one of my coworkers to give it a try. Let me tell you, Copper Star Coffee did not disappoint. I got the bodega bagel with cream cheese, crispy bacon, and tomato; it was freaking delicious. For coffee, I got vanilla, oat milk, latte, and hot. I also wanted something sweet and got the blueberry muffin, which was also delicious; you can tell that it was homemade. It was a cute family-owned coffee shop with delicious pastries and yummy bagels. I considered returning to get another one, but we were crunched on time. Thank you, Copper Star Coffee, for making my morning better.

Inside a restored gas station is a really, really good bagel shop. Their pastrami on a sesame bagel is perfect- the cheese, the meat, it’s all perfectly seasoned and so good. My wife loved her ham bagel sandwich and my six-year-old daughter couldn’t stop talking about her plain bagel with cream cheese. Their coffee is also great with many different kinds and flavors. The iced cinnamon latte was refreshing! Service is quick and kind!

Simply Wonderful! The high ceiling and natural lighting made the whole shop a perfect place to be at. The ambiance is welcoming and it's a good place to hang out and chill alone or even with friends. I love their coffee and food as well. The owner and staff genuinely care for their customers. They really made me impressed all the way. Highly recommended!

They're such a hip LGBTQ+ friendly coffee shop and the drive through is so adorable! The first time I went I was feeling so alone in the world, I've never felt more at home and safe than I did there. The pastries and coffee are flawless, and they have cute pins too!

I was looking for somewhere with a decent choice for breakfast and discovered this gem. I’m vegetarian, so there were several good options for me too. The service is friendly and efficient. Both of our meals were very tasty, hot and of great quality. Tea and coffee were great quality too. This is somewhere we will return to soon.

This was my first time to the copper star coffee and all u can say is I was very impressed with the level of customer service and the atmosphere was wonderful, very relaxed and lid back energy just as they advertise. The coffee was great, not the burnt taste of other places! I think I found a new place to go and relax at and enjoy some great coffee.

Coffee is so bomb but just drove 20 minutes to get coffee because it says they close at 10:30, but at 6:20 they’re closed. Please change your hours.

prepare for a long post. First of all, the atmosphere is amazing. It is an old gas station that was converted into a shop, they still have the old pumps next to the drive thru window! Inside the walls are decorated with local art, they sell it too! So extra points for supporting their community. The lighting is easy on the eyes, and there was plenty of seating available without a crowded feel. The outdoor seating was awesome because not only did it feature local art like a table made of bottles and a fountain, but also lots of plants adding a less urban feel. The big bonus was the misting fans, in 117 degree weather it allowed My dog and I relief while I enjoyed my latte. Next the staff, which seriously offered the best customer service Iv’e had thus far. All of the employees were friendly and engaging, and offered plenty of suggestions. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this staff, they are simply amazing. As for my drink I actually ended up getting two since My pup could hang around without getting too hot. First I tried a plain iced lavender latte. ( I forgot to ask for almond milk because i was enjoying talking to the staff so much!) They make their Lavender syrup in house with local fresh lavender too! It was so good I went in for another. But this time I was going to try the house special, mocha lavender. My barista suggested to get the white mocha in it instead. White mochas are usually too sweet for me, but this latte was sooo good. Still a little on the sweet side for me, but I still enjoyed it immensely. I’ll be stopping by the drive thru on the way out to L.A and trying an almond milk latte. THANK YOU COPPER STAR FOR THE GREAT SERVICE.

Such a great place! I've been back several times! It's wonderful to see someone repurpose an old building, and letting this old building still serve its purpose of continuing to be a drive-thru 🙌 I love their cold items, great Iced Coffees, amazing blended coffees and smoothies! Staff is always friendly, great team-player service, everyone checks on you to make sure you've been taken care of!! I drive here from Laveen just for their drinks 💯 👌

Great customer service. Very friendly. Coffee was a light roast so a little too mild for my palate. Try a lavender-blueberry tuxedo mocha. Quite tasty. Relaxing atmosphere on a patio with a water fountain that makes you want to sit and unwind.

Price was ok, a little too sweet not enough caffeine for the coffee, a little salty on the food. Nice friendly staff.

The whole visit to this coffee shop was outstanding! The service was incredible and the language barrier was really welcoming for my waiter. He suggested a great burger salad, and the dessert was perfect, of course. It has an elegant and welcoming atmosphere. I can't honestly think of a single negative. To all coffee lovers, I would certainly suggest this coffee shop!

Love the atmosphere here and the people. You feel surrounded by calm and acceptance. Their bagels are some of the best I've had in AZ! Especially the rosemary one. Of course the coffee is fantastic too.

Unique coffee establishment built in a vintage gas station . Located in the heart of Melrose district in downtown Phoenix. Both the locals & pet owners are seen relaxing on the patio. Indoor seating is also available. The employees are extremely friendly and courteous. They offer delicious meals and beverages. My favorite is the Blueberry Matcha Chiller with oat milk .Several vegan options on site.Local artist display their items most are up for sale. There is also a drive thru if your in a rush.Kind of old school there is no intercom system the employees come out to ur car to take down your order. So be patient it's worth supporting this small local business.

We were on a trip from Seattle. Copper Star was near our Airbnb. My queer kiddo's eyes lit up when entering Copper Star. Solid coffee drinks, kids loved their smoothies, and the BAGELS were some of the best I've ever had. We came back the next morning. Thanks for creating an inclusive space with delicious options!

Pretty cool little historic/hip coffee shop in Phoenix that used to be an old service station. Lots of options for coffee, food, and has a nice little area outside to sit. My Peanut butter latte was good. :)

I took a trip to Phoenix recently and wanted to try some local coffee on my way out of town. This place was near my hotel and had good reviews so I checked it out, and I'm so glad I did! I got a white chocolate and cinnamon latte and it was absolutely delicious! Copper Star Coffee will definitely be a stop every time I'm in town from now on!

Love their breakfast bagels. And I love to support local business vs chains but the staff is incredibly rude as heck! Not just a one time occurrence, someone having a bad day. This is literally the norm for this place. Good thing I am one that can take a hint. One less customer you won't have to deal with. Won't be back.

This coffee shop is in an old auto mechanic garage. I grew up down the street from it and I remember the auto shop better than the coffee shop. But I've gone here twice now and the employees are always nice and it's kind of hipster kind of new. The food is okay and the drinks are pretty good. The parking is a little difficult but it's a fun place to meet friends or a date and it's definitely something interesting. It's worth going and checking out.

Absolutely LOVE this coffee shop! It has the best oatmilk! Most places it's really gritty or just plain gross! But I adore the lattes here! I've also tried a breakfast bagel and it was so GOOD! they even have a drive-through if you can't make it in.

Thank you! My morning was already filled with energy and happiness. All thanks to this shop and the waitress that served my coffee and bread properly and amazingly. Besides, their shop was a very good place to visit, for it was clean, comfortable, and stylish. It also has a very nice view that was overlooking the city. I mean, it was relaxing and perfect!

"I think this place is the most popular here in our area for they have friendly bartenders and they served the desired taste of the coffee. As we spent our day here with my co-workers, we were all amazed by the goodness of the staff. They were so accommodating. They gave us a wide space for us to relax while enjoying every sip of the coffee. You guys can bring all your friends here!"

Although I am normally a big fan of Copper Star, I recently had a not so great experience here that has left me disappointed. Normally the service, staff, drinks, and food are incredible! However, a few weeks ago as I was drinking my beverage I noticed that there was a coin in the bottom of my drink. I was very grossed out and disgusted by this and promptly called the shop to let them know. The barista I spoke to was very kind and said he would pass on my number to the owner. 3-4 days later, still no contact from the owner. I called back to the cafe and another barista was incredibly kind on the phone and told me she would pass on my message to the owner to contact me since I had been waiting. It has been 2 weeks since my experience and I have yet to hear from anyone. I am unfortunately very disappointed in how this was handled by the owner and upper management. Normally I do not take the time to write negative reviews, but I was left saddened by this experience and would have liked the owner to have contact me after I reached out about my experience. Although accidents happen, I really just wanted some customer service to discuss this issue and I am left disappointed and discouraged. Thank you to the two baristas I spoke to who gave me the utmost respect and kindness and tried resolving my issue, just disappointed overall I could not get any follow up.

The coffee here is truly amazing. We’re pretty basic coffee drinkers (americanos), but the flavor to Copper Star Coffee was superb. The setup of this place is cute- and old gas station. However, they’ve entirely closed their inside, so the outside is quite crowded at times.

Quaint, independent cafe, which caters something for everyone -- from a breakfast sandwich, to a sweet treat; and, from a speciality coffee to start a day with, to an afternoon ice tea. This coffee shop is very involved and supportive of a local community. A must visit for anyone who enjoys this cute neighborhood! Still serving the local coffee enthusiasts during COVID-19; give a try for the drive-through, or order from the hostess stand by the street. 👌 It takes support from all of us to keep these small businesses afloat during this unusual time. Let's show our support! The fantastic staff here is guaranteed to brighten up your day!

Awesome little coffee shop. Mostly friendly, ultra-hipster staff. Espresso here is top notch. Not sure what they do differently. Maybe its like Larry's Lattes, imported from some secret location. Even with the occasional 'Tude from a 20 year old who seems sooo bored with you, this is 5 stars easily.

Cute spot. I didnt see the extra parking around the back. Saw everyone parking on the street and the drive thru was busy. Ill admit was a bit frustrated at the lack of parking. It wasn't until I had my coffee and back in my car before I noticed the sign for the extra parking. Must've been coffee on my brain when trying to get in. Lol. The day I was there a couple stood at the front of the line and we all waited for a while. When they came out it was then I realized the couple had ordered but blocked the stand from the rest of us. Not sure if the associates could see the rest of us and explains why they hadn't come out for such a long time. Either way the person taking our order was nice and offered suggestions. The coffee here hands down is THE hottest temperature i have ever had. Omg. Really good, but I had to wait patiently for it to cool down enough for me to enjoy.

This coffee shop is well-deserved for a five-star rating and my highest recommendations. This is a very good place to hang out and doing my research. Their soft music, the calmness of mind, and cozy ambiance were very commendable for everybody. They have exceptional service and satisfying taste of coffees. I highly recommend this place to everyone I know.

Such a great spot for quick coffee and breakfast. The staff are friendly and willing to answer questions. The food and coffee stayed warm on the drive home and tasted fresh a and filling. Will be returning, soon!

My favorite coffee shop in Phoenix! Their baked goods are out of this world. It’s convenient to drive through for a quick drink or you can sit and enjoy the fountain on the patio out front. Also, their bagels are delicious and made in house daily!! I love it here.

I haven’t found a better bagel in the valley, I think I like them better than Back East in Tempe. The espresso is delicious and not burnt like that green mermaid a lot of you love! If I could ask one simple thing, PLEASE standardize seasoning your fried eggs with salt and pepper. Eggs have a weird taste when not seasoned properly and I hate being the guy that has to ask for salt and pepper on my egg.

For all the coffee shops that I visited in this town, this is one of my favorite shops. The taste of the foods and the coffee was good and accurate as I expected. Besides, the waiter that served my order at that time was very accommodating and pleasant. I was greatly impressed with their shop. It was clean, fascinating, and worth it. Thank you!

Came back years later (02/2022) and it's still great! Neat coffee shop with good salad and smoothies. I recently spent the better part of the day there, using it as an away office. Wedge salad was delicious and the berry/banana smoothie was refreshing.

I hesitated to order at first because of the environment - their fan is filthy (I do not use that word lightly) and caked in dust (a metal floor fan directed at the coffee prep area), one of the pastry cases was left ajar and a fly was just hanging out inside (hovering around the inner base where LOTS of old crumbs were trapped between the glass and the metal bottom of the display area), the stainless steel fridge had a visible layer of grime where hands commonly open it, etc. I figured they had a good rating - so maybe it had just been a wild day. I ordered pastries (no coffee) and left - only to get home and see that the individual that served us had applied a $2 tip. They had announced the total, never mentioned gratuity being included, never asked if I wanted to leave a tip - just completed the transaction. I don’t care about the tip, I have no desire to dispute it - it just bothers me that they didn’t say anything to me. I think I have become too accustomed to pressing/selecting a percentage - maybe I missed a sign. The pastries themselves were okay - the blueberry crumble lacks tartness and so the overall product is just overwhelmingly sweet. The taste is good, but the missing complexity makes it tiring to finish. I might return to give it a second try - especially since it is inclusive and the food menu looks promising. Hopefully the second time is the charm. TLDR: Needs some deep cleaning. Charged a tip without mentioning anything. Pastry had good flavor but was somewhat bland.

Went here recently with my roommate and loved what she ordered for me, so i decided to go back today and order exactly what she did. I was a little surprised when the coffee i got was a tad different from when we came last. The size was different and for whatever reason there was cinnamon added to the drink this time. The coffee is still delicious but it seems inconsistent from the first time i was taken.

My husband and I like trying coffee shops around this valley and Copper Star was a great find. The coffees are not overly sweet which is the issue I find at so many other places. The environment and staff is great as well, very friendly and coll anesthetic! Since it was our first time we also got free pastries which was neat! I got an iced tuxedo mocha and a chocolate chip scone and my husband had an iced white chocolate mocha w/ peanut butter syrup and a cinnamon bun. We will definietly be back!

Excellent vibe and super great prices. Good art and music and the staff (and customers) are really friendly. Also some solid outdoor seating and misters setup, very treesy. Only major complaint, there's a good number of flies buzzing around, especially by the garage door. Might just be because of the heat right now, but it makes it tough to be productive in here. Copper if you see this, invest in some fly traps and I'll edit for 5 stars. Overall, cool spot, very affordable, come check it out :)

Great coffee, awesome staff. Busy Saturday morning today, still got my (unbelievably good) lavender mocha quickly. Tiniest wait for my bagel (in the gorgeous sun, who can even complain), and it's a great day. Tip well and be kind, they deserve it.

I got a chocolate chip scone and a hazelnut mocha and they were SO good! Pretty much everything here is home made and there are gluten free and vegan options. The service is amazing the people are so kind and welcoming! I will be back :)

Love me a homemade chai latte!! The freshly baked goods are heavenly, caramel apple muffin is sending me on my flight back home in the sweetest mood. I believe it was the owner who took care of my friend and I - and we absolutely adore him! Good luck to your daughter at UC San Diego!!

Went to Bark If You're Dirty (formerly Wag n Wash), on the way there I noticed a coffee shop. We stopped in CSC after we bought goodies for our doggos. What a pleasant place! I love the gas pumps out front. The décor inside is awesome too. Thanks for the great experience.

I come here for the bagels. Best bagels I have had PERIODT.! I have tried the plain , Asiago and the rosemary bagel. All so good. The hummus bagel sandwich delicious. The last time I was there I tried the breakfast sandwich with a plain bagel but substituted the bacon with roasted veggies. Those veggies wowed me. They also have a punch card. Make sure you ask for one!

Very delicious bagels and one of the best coffees we had during our stay. The staff are friendly and the coffee shop has multiple breakfast options to meet anyone’s cravings.

In a cultural desert there is an Oasis of brew. Yes the chains are prominent but if you prefer ‘Personal’ than this is your spot. What was once a gas stop has Turned to a coffee must stop. Drive thru or Order in the experience is unique. From Architecture to Art even The chairs scream coffee. And a good one at that. What first began as curiosity Quickly became habit. Brisk Arizona mornings need the warmth of human beings and hot brew. Always welcoming The staff is attentive yet local, Or seemingly so since no one Is ‘local’ in Phoenix. Let’s talk coffee. Strong brewed Yet smooth and piping hot it’s Everything you need to begin your day. Balanced not Burnt. If I lived in this melrose district They would ‘tire’ of seeing me As I would be a ‘Regular’ And I think that is the Greatest Compliment for Any Business. Like Arnold said ‘I’ll Be Back’ sans Terminator. )

This is my go-to coffee shop! The coffee, baked goods, & bagels are always amazing! Staff are super friendly and the vibe is very welcoming. I come here at least a couple of times a month. This place is a must stop if you’re in the Melrose area.

What an amazing little gem! Love the converted gas station, the misters outside, the staff, the whole vibe! The coffee was wonderful(had a dark iced mocha) and the molasses cookie was delectable-soft, gooey and everything I wanted in a cookie. They have a constant flow of people and it's not that big inside. I was hoping for a table to do some work but there were none available. I sat outside and the misters are actually perfect! Between the trees, shade panels and misters, a hot August morning was actually quite pleasant. I'll definitely come back to Copper Star Coffee!

Copper Star may be my new favorite coffee spot!! Not only was i welcomed with open arms as a first time customer…but I got a free pastry as well! The customer service is out of this world and the BAGELS ARE SO GOOD! They make them in house so they are fresh, warm, and delicious! I would highly, HIGHLY recommend this spot if you’re looking for a new coffee spot to try! :)

This was my first visit to Copper Star Coffee and I think they won my loyalty. They have great customer service, great coffee, and great desserts. I explained that this was my first visit and asked which coffees they recommend. The person taking my order recommended some things that I didn't see on the menu, and I chose one that starts with a 'C'... I wish I could remember what it was because it was so incredibly delicious. I ordered it with half sugar and oat milk. As soon as I tasted it, I wished I had ordered a large. The guy at the register also gave me a free pastry item because it was my first time. They have vegan and gluten free options available. Everything looked so good; it was hard to decide. I ended up with a brownie, which was delicious.
