Worst experience ever! I broke a water drinking glass by mistake and I called the room service for that. When the help arrived, he started shouting at us and asked us to pay 50 THB for it. We agreed and told him sorry again. He then started throwing our belongings and repeating 50 THB. We told him to leave the room and left the hotel. The saddest part was after complaining about it to the reception, there was no help whatsoever. I have no idea where did I go wrong to deserve this. The way that person spoke to me and my wife was very upsetting. DON'T EVER GO TO THIS HOTEL.

Great value budget hotel in prime position overlooking the Chaophraya river. Lovely terrace for breakfast. Rooms dated but comfortable and clean. Good shower and comfy beds. Nothing to complain about.

Overall a great hotel stay in Bangkok. They offer laundry services on site which was nice. There's also an option for breakfast at the property. I enjoyed eating breakfast out by the pool which overlooks the river below. However one morning there were ants in the cereal dispensers which was kinda a gross surprise.

We had a wonderful time at New Siam Riverside (spent it with family). A few things: - They let us keep our bags after the last day we checked out ๐Ÿ™ at no charge. - Rooms are a bit dated, but they are okay considering the price. - Very near to a pier so you can take a boat to China Town area or somewhere. - Comparatively near to the tourist attractions, you can even walk to Khao San from here. - Breakfast - it was okay TBH, but had bacon every day. - Everyone was so nice.

Is good location, you can enjoy the view of the river. Also enjoy the swimming pool. The rooms are little old, and they don't clean every day, you need to ask for cleaning and they only change the towel.

What to sayโ€ฆ old hotel. Nice view of the river. But rooms were really old. I had rust coming out of the sink when I used it. Staff was very friendly though. And the price is low, so itโ€™s ok I suppose! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜Š

Good stuff, Breakfast very good, lots of choice, helpful pleasant staff, great location right on the river handy for hop on/ off boat4u water taxi. Nice pool. Good tour desk, professional and reasonably priced. Bad stuff: balcony with a view of just the building opposite, so not a city view as described. Deliberately misleading. Nowhere comfy to sit in the room, balcony or outside. Yelling kids. Dangerous unusable hairdryer in room which nearly caught fire when I tried to use it. Staff seemed uninterested when notified!

Love this location! The hotel is super close to Khaosan rd and another super cute boutique like shopping area with many restaurants etc. but without ANY noise. Itโ€™s so quiet!!! Itโ€™s right on the river. The bed is comfortable and so is the room. Excellent breakfast buffet on the river & by the super clean pool. Well taken care of place and super friendly staff. Great value for the price! I booked 2 nights and stayed 6.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights when we first arrived in Bangkok. It was super comfortable and easy, and everything worked just as it should. Nice big beds, clean bathrooms, lovely pool by the river, and very friendly, helpful staff. Breakfasts are not very exciting, but totally fine. Location is great, near to several great food options and temples with plenty of tuk-tuks and taxis around to take you elsewhere. We would happily stay again!

Hi.. The room was small and they hve not came to clean. A bad smell from the airco. The breakfast was good, but in the evening when you order from the card, then they give you little bit something else and they increase the price with 60%. I order for 95 Bth and payed 180Bth. There was now discussion possible with the manager.

If your looking for a place to stay near Khao San Road this is a nice place. It's 5 minutes away from the Hussle and a bit calmer. The terrace restaurant and pool offer a nice view of the Chao Praya River. Breakfast buffet is nothing special but offers enough for everybody to start the day. The ferries are just 1 minute away from the hotel.

The hotel is very old and the rooms including beds are used up. The would need renovation. The location is very nice. Nevertheless the room and sleeping is important for us thatโ€™s why we had to downgrade.

Location is close to historic city, right on the river close to a boat stop and surrounded with cafes, restaurants, bars and shops which makes it easy. But there are so many better hotels to pick in this area for a better price. This hotel is more concerned for its own interest than that of the guests. All they worry about is any potential damage one may cause in the room. There is a whole menu of damage charges available in the room to make sure it's understood. When we checked out, the room had to be inspected for damages before we were released. It would be understandable if this was a new and kept hotel. It isn't. The bathrooms are from the 60s, tired and broken. The beds are sagging, with no support and the pillows haven't been replaced in years. The bedding smelled unwashed with odours of sweat and urine. The room was crawling with tiny insects which are probably in my suitcase now. There is no room service unless you beg, no new supplies and the service is appalling. The aircon does not cool and there is no wi-fi even if the staff give you the password. False hope. The stuff are dismissive and unhelpful. We stayed in the best room in the hotel so l would hate to think what the others looked like. We booked this hotel by accident thinking it was the one next door which actually is a real hotel.

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. Small clean rooms at great location and good swimming pool. It's right beside the Chao Phraya river. Breakfast can be had with an awesome river view beside the swimming pool. Restaurant also serves good lunch and dinner. Khao San street is walkable. Grand Palace and Wat Arun can be visited by just hopping into a ferry. The ferry pier is walkable in 200 mtrs from hotel. Very convenient. Over all good experience. Only sad thing is Rooms are small and bathroom is smaller. AC was not upto the mark. Takes long time to cool.

The rooms are a bit outdated, but clean and have very comfortable beds. The breakfast was very good and the restaurant inside the hotel is fantastic! The hotel is only a couple hundred meters from the Phra Athit

The location is good, but that's it. Do yourself a favor and stay away. They know a lot of people leave after checking in so the charge fullyin the beginning. Ask to check the room before you pay, or better just go to a normal hotel. One exemple: The wifi disconnects every 3 sec, and when I ask the reception for help with it he blames my phone despite telling him that my husband and I have the same problem with ALL of our devices ( laptops as well). When I went down the wifi disconnected in front of him constantly, so he took my phone ( didn't ask) and went through my apps and kept opening random apps, only after I asked 4 times " what are you doing" he answered that he is looking for the settings. I showed him where the settings is and when I was looking at the screen again he was going through all my saved browser's pages, odd and uncomfortable. Only when I asked 5 more times what is he doing he gives me my phone back and said the problem is with my phone- a phone that didn't have any problems anywhere else this trip. Despite being pregnant, and very tiered from a long flight all the from NY- We moved to a different hotel on the same street as soon as we could get our stuff.

Worst experience ever! Room outdated, bed sheets smell like never washed, the pillows were full with stains, there is a bad smell coming from the air-conditioning. The corridor smells like mould and humidity. Wi-fi nowhere to be found, food was bad, too.

Unfortunately you can not be sure that you will get the room (river view with balcony) what you booked. Then they will give you a room to the street or inside without a balcony. You can not rely on that hotel. It is normally a good choice for some or one night, but overbooking is a NoGo.

Amazing place to stay, just beside the river with the breathtaking view. However, they dont have much variation in their buffet breakfast.

  • 4/5 Rohan L. 5 months ago on Google
Nice and clean accommodation although the rooms are slightly worn out. Friendly staff. Close to all the action, but not too close, so the rooms are fairly quiet. Has a well maintained pool that backs onto the river. You can order alcoholic beverages to enjoy at the poolside. Breakfast included (buffet style). Have been to this hotel a number of times over the years.

If you are looking for the perfect spot to stay in Bangkok this might be your next destination. Breakfast is served ร  la carte with a very good selection of food, fruits and vegetables. Hot coffee soup juice. Just about everything you need. I booked through Expedia and with my points breakfast was free. The outside food area is well shaded and even has a second level for a nice view of the river and surrounding city. The pool is beautiful, shallow and deep end with lounge chairs available around the pool as well as a bar, juice and food. We we're on the 6th floor with city view balcony. The balcony was extremely big which was nice. We had sun and shade at the same time during the day. I would have gave more stars for the room if the air conditioning was better. We found this hotel to be in the center. A lot of activities close by. Check out the alley beside the 7-Eleven which leads back into an amazing subdivision of shopping, food bars, restaurants, street food in the evening street performers and live music. A really chill atmosphere. Easily walked area for miles. Riverboat taxis are within a five minute walk south of the hotel. Also beautiful park in the other direction where we even seem very large monitor lizards and smaller ones as well. This is a very easy area to get around. Whether you walk. Take Tuctuks motorcycle taxi or regular taxi.

This hotel/guesthouse is an uncut diamond really. I'm not sure you could stay riverside in any other major city so cheaply. My room is a little on the small side with a cramped toilet/shower area and it is described as a, "Superior room". Because the management describes the place as a guesthouse there's no daily cleaning. Now the good stuff. Breakfast is very good, I stayed a few years back and it was buffet service but now with fewer guests due to Covid they serve. Either way the quality is good. The wi-fi works all the time. There's a small riverside pool which is a tranquil spot for either before or after your day's activities. The staff are from my experience very helpful and nice and when I had a problem locking my door got a guy down quickly to effect repair. The best thing though, of course, is the location. I think if you're staying at a riverside hotel it's worth the extra expense of a riverside room so you can soak up the views and river audio, lapping water, boats honking, bird song etc. This is my second visit and sometimes actions speak louder than words.

We reserved one single room for 3 person and it was a small comparatively. I must say location is excellent for visitors. One can access to their destination from the hotel by Chao phraya river by boats, tourist ferry and it is very cheap for back packers and even for travellers like us from India. I recommend people to go and stay there โ˜บ๏ธ. Nice hotel.

I didn't stay here but used their restaurant. The food was fantastic and there's great views of the river too. I highly recommend their restaurant.

My wife and I stayed here a few times just before the pandemic, we found it was very good value for money and well located. The pool was very useful and we had no problem with the food.

Decent hotel located in a good location to visit all the tourist hotspots. The hotel has a restaurant on premise though the service and prices arenโ€™t that good. Room was a bit dated but provided with many amenities (tea, coffee, fridge etc). The hotel is also close the the Chao Praya river boat which makes it easy to take the boat to many tourist locations and big shopping centers.

We got the riverside view which costs more than the city view. Nice view overlooking the small pool and the river with dinner cruises darting to and fro with loud party music. As for the location, the hotel is quite close to the party street in Khaosan road as there is a small alley way right across the hotel. The staff although they can speak English but their accents was thick and a bit hard to make out what they were saying. The WiFi password wasn't given upon check in, I had to call the front desk a few times to remind them about the username and password till a staff and gave me 2 tiny pieces of paper containing the login details. The room is ok, flat screen tv, telephone, and bedside remote for the lights and air-conditioning. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were somewhat too thick thus gave me a bad neck pain the next day. As for the breakfast, it was not bad, brewed coffee and tea plus instant flavored juices, egg station was a nice touch, waffles, pancakes and cold cuts were present as well. Eating by the poolside was nice. Lastly the lobby was a bit confusing as there are 2, one as you enter isn't the main reception but it's the 2 one as you go in further. The seating of waiting area is dilapidated and old, not very welcoming at all, the design and concept is a mismatched of design concept.

Good value hotel with a nice outdoor area next to the river. Staff very nice. Rooms and building a bit tired but to be expected for the price I suppose.

Do not book here disgusting service as they do not answer the phones if you can find a phone number that online that is not disconnected. I booked through agoda and got no response from New Siam Riverside at all. I would suggest never to stay here.

New Siam Riverside is clean and the staff are amazing and extremely helpful. Definitely book in here again. Central, not noisy and beautiful with the river running by. The food is also delicious.

It belongs together with New Siam Palace Ville, where I stayed for my two days of qurantine (1 + 5; Test & Go). On the days between I stayed in New Siam Riverside Hotel, which is not far away (5 - 10 minutes walk). The rooms are either to the street or to the river side, very big (bigger than in New Siam Palace Ville), but a litle bit old fashioned. The river side rooms are more quiet, but infortunately the view on the river and the surrounding buildings is not very special, at all. And these rooms are more expansive (+ 400 Baht) than the street side rooms, although the street looked very empty at night time. What I didn't like was the breakfast. I had read good remarks about it, but you have to choose between vegetarian or continental breakfast, which I have taken. Then you could choose how you want your eggs (scrsmbled, fried, omlette) and what drink (coffee or tea) you prefer. You get a plate with two warmed up toasts in a plastic bag, a little cup of strawberry jam and butter, 2 fried eggs, two slices of ham, two mini sausages, 1 cup of coffee. That's it, no buffet. Maybe I expected too much, but for such an hotel I was a little bit disappointed. Although there was an area inside, you had to eat outside, probably because of avoiding Covid. And eating in front of the river seemed not be the worst idea. But the place was full with (spider) mites and small ants, which were after a few minutes almost everywhere on your body. So after eating I had to go back and had to shower again. Under those cicumstances I prefered to eat my breakfast at other locations. I hope, it will become better after Covid is over. Anyway, as I had already mentioned at the New Siam Palace Ville, you are almost directly in a range of restaurants and bars and can continue to Khao San road with additional several music clubs in a couple of minutes! Even the big temples (Wat Arung, Wat Phra Kaeo, Wat Pho) in walking distance. That's pretty nice. For Siam Center, MBK, Centerworld) look for a taxi with taximeter (around 100 Baht).

Are the rooms clean - yes. Is it in a good location - yes. Is close but not to close to Koh San Rd & the is a couple minutes walk from hop on/off River boat.
