We extra took shopper with food inside, all bags we left inside motorbike. The monkeys are really crazy, they grab your legs and clothes, jump on bag. But it was funny because we prepared. But they destroyed bag because they bites with teeth. But if you have no food they not interesting at you at all, but if they see something like bottles or plastic bag they run to you like a hell) we were in evening time and they were probably more calm because have food all day long, but still very active)

If this is your first encounter with monkeys be prepared to be a little scared. We went when there was no people as well. There are big packs of monkeys and dogs in the middle of the road and you need to walk right trough them. We carried a large stick just for our peace of mind. Please don't feed the monkeys they have many signs not to do it because they can get aggressive. It is quite a climb to the view point, yet most view points are overgrown with vegetation. You can only look down from this point.

Not recommended to visit during the rainy season because you have to walk around 2km one way uphill (you are not allowed to ride/drive—I wish I had known this). But if you are up for hiking, you might be okay. Still, be careful. It was steep and a lil bit slippery because fruits’ peels are everywhere. The monkeys were good tho, did not disturb us because we kept safe distance. The viewpoint was not that large, I wonder if it’s peak season, there must be too crowded. Plus point: fitness park seemed to be well-maintained. There were around 2 good parks that I noticed. Allowing you to stretch your whole body🙂

I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the surroundings are on Monkey Hill. I don’t think any of the photos on here do it justice. The first carpark area with the cafe and park is so pretty. You can just stop here to feed the monkeys, you just need to walk down the side road a little and they will come to you … if you bring them fresh fruit! Be sure to leave all your belongings in your vehicle! They will take your wallet just because they can, it happened to a lady while we were there. The cafe is amongst the jungle canopy and such a nice spot to stop for a bite and refreshment. I could have eaten 3 serves of their roast pork canapés! Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy feeling at peace amongst nature. The drive up is wonderful too.

This is a spectacular and special way to see monkeys. And you will see monkeys, lots and lots of them. In case you’re not enthusiastic about walking to the top of the hill, just know that you will not have to walk far to see monkeys. I walked to the top where the view of the city is nice, but if you’re there just to see monkeys it is not necessary. The locals advised me (belatedly) not to go alone. Know what to do in case the monkeys get pushy and aggressive which they will definitely do if they think you have food: do not smile (they think you’re baring your teeth), do not make direct eye contact, hold your palms up and out up so they can see you have nothing and slowly back away. If you make the mistake of shouting and using threatening gestures, it will be you against a pack of monkeys. You will lose the battle. I know this unfortunately from experience. A local man with a slingshot had to came to my rescue. My recommendation is to not bring or buy monkey food. They tend to ignore you if you do not have food (but not always). There will still be many playful monkeys to watch and photograph. They are wild creatures. They are unpredictable. Please remember that. Any move you make for your backpack will attract motivated monkeys who think you have food for them and they will jump, claw, unzip, and bite to get that food. It is not advised to carry a bag in your hands because monkeys will grab it from you, no matter what is in it. If you do take food, make sure you do not have to spend too much time getting it out of your backpack or unwrapping it. The monkeys will not wait and it will be a frightening experience when they rush at you aggressively. Keep your children close to you. Be careful getting too close to the mother monkeys with babies. There might be an aggressive male watching. Keep these critical things in mind for your safety and enjoy this truly magical walk. There are dogs, like others have mentioned in their reviews. I found them to be docile and uninterested in people.

Wild monkeys inhabit this place. They will snatch any food and drinks you have with you. If you've brought anything like that, be prepared for them to take it away. Some say they even grab shiny jewelry or gadgets. In my case, they only took food; they didn't care about necklaces, phones, or rings. Please, do not provoke them. If you willingly give them all your food, don't shout, show no aggression, and don't brandish sticks at them, they won't harm you. You can hold a stick in your hand to deter them, but if you have food in your hands, the stick won't stop them. If you attempt to strike them, you'll only anger them. Monkeys also get agitated if you keep your hands in your pockets. In that case, simply slowly take your hands out and show empty palms. They will back off immediately. If you're concerned, make sure your insurance covers all necessary vaccinations in case of a bite. In the beginning, it can be frightening, but after you run out of food and drinks, you'll see that the monkeys no longer care about you. When you reach the top, you'll enjoy a beautiful view. The climb can be challenging, especially with children, as you have to go uphill, and the monkeys will initially slow you down. If your stress level is high, there's a very cozy café along the way with delicious coffee. There are no monkeys there, so you can relax and enjoy the views. Again, do not take food and water from there or show it to the monkeys; they'll take it all. The essence is not just in the view at the end of the climb, but in the process itself 😊.

If you want to improve your physical health this place is definitely recommended. Especially the best for the legs and butt 😁 Didn't like the monkeys and dogs test were aggressive. The view is OK but not wow. The best impression was from the local people who are always walking there just as sport exercises and always friendly to help.

Monkey Hill was an excellent free of charge place to visit. There were a lot of monkeys around, which was fun to watch. Some of them were quite aggressive, so it's important to be careful. There is also a kindergarten with smaller monkeys jumping and playing around. You can buy food to feed the monkeys, but be aware that they might attack you and get what they want immediately. There's no need to climb all the way to the top of the road since most of the monkeys are in the beginning and the views from the top are obstructed. It's within walking distance from Phuket town, so it's a convenient place to visit if you're in the area.

We rode here on a scooter and parked at the bottom - It’s around a 2km walk up to the viewpoint (See video) - Although you’ll see Monkeys as soon as you turn onto the road so if that’s all you’re interested in then you won’t need to do the walk. There are hundreds of monkeys - Be careful with your belongings as they are very curious and know people store items in bags etc. If you are carrying a bag - Prepare for monkeys to take interest and climb on you - But be careful as the last time I was here I had a baby interested and the mother didn’t like that - She bit me and I had to get a round of the rabies vaccine. It’s a fun visit and I do it every time I come here, Monkeys are awesome animals - Just be wary and don’t play with them (for long) as it may not end well for you.

Worth visiting if you want to see the monkeys because there is tons of them there. However, remember to leave all your belongings (including bags/backpacks) in the car. The monkeys will try to get access to everything.

Really nice to hike or do sport, there is around 1,4km to walk up the hill until the viewpoint (very nice during sunset) and there is a lot of dogs (surprisingly) and monkeys that you can feed only in some spot of the way.

Absolutely our favorite thing to do in Thailand! We’re on our way back after coming 2 days ago 😎 But we are animal lovers and enjoy seeing animals in their natural element. There are so many monkeys and it’s so much fun to feed them. We didn’t venture up the hill as we have kids and didn’t want to risk it on our own. But there are lots of security and the bottom of the hill that will help you out. We’ll probably come back for a 3rd time before we leave

Beware of monkeys. They'll snatch the food/snacks/drinks right from your hand. They'll climb up on you if you try to keep the food away. Go find a long stick before you start walking up; you might need it to keep the monkeys away. It's a long hike up the mountain, about 1 hour just to get up there if you rest multiple times. There's a small drink stand where you can purchase some cool drinks when you get to the viewpoint.

Great attraction, but beware of monkeys - they're eager for food so don't provoke them or let them scratch or bite you. Otherwise they're are cool to observe when you have no food (they kinda ignore you mostly) and it was really great experience (one of them did climb on me to steal bananas so beware again and not sure you want to go as far as the top of this hill :)

Very long hike and loads of monkeys. Too much monkey we had to turn back. Yes that’s bad English I know. That’s how scary it was. Also, the photos of children and adults getting maimed by monkeys on the walk weren’t helpful. All in all didn’t make it.

You can drive up the hill to the Urban Forest gate where it’s about a 25 minute walk to the top. However, if you’re lucky, the monkeys do venture down the hill on the road and you can view them without even getting out your car. I saw several people walking through the monkeys and neither party seemed bothered at all.

Strange place. Dogs and monkeys everywhere. Grab a wooden stick to defend yourself if necessary. The monkeys were afraid, but the dogs aggressive. Dont feed any animals there, otherwise you will face the consequences...they are faster and in a group stronger than you!-Nevertheless, it is worth to visit the place. It's a chance to see those wild-living apes very close.

They only let you drive half way up. You have to walk the rest. There is stray dogs and too many monkeys who in all honesty are not very friendly. This is really not the safest place If you want my honest opinion. But the view from above is quite nice. Good luck getting passed the hundreds of monkeys to get there!

What a place! I love monkeys so this was a must on our list. A real experience but on the way back, some of the monkeys got a bit picky with us and tried to grab my bag and my friends arm. They were still cool to see as there’s so many of them and the security staff at the bottom of the hill were very helpful!

Was mugged by a monkey! Ran up to me stole my water bottle out of my hand, then glared at me as he took the cap off and drank my water. True story! Lots of monkeys, not much viewpoint. Be careful, wild animals will do what they do. Nice walk up to the top where the TV transmitters are. Didn't see a viewpoint though, unless it was closed for covid.

Beautiful view of the town from the top and great opportunity to click good photographs. Unfortunately, it was raining a little when we visited the place but still can admire the beautiful view. Good part was that there were no monkeys around. There are some small stalls and food place if you wish to enjoy some local delights or want to buy a drink. The toilet is available with a service charge of 10b per person and was not so clean.

Nice viewpoint with lots of cute monkeys. They might get aggressive when you bring food, so we brought nothing and the monkeys stayed about 1 meter away. You can feed the monkeys though it is not recommended. It took us about one hour to reach the viewpoint.

I guess it’s exactly what it says it is: a hill with monkeys on it. Drive in, park, sign in, buy some food (if you want) and walk up a winding road full of monkeys. They chill mostly but one of them ran up my leg and scratched me. Just don’t make eye contact? Pretty cool I guess

Had a blast being entertained by the monkeys while hiking. I would recommend bringing comfortable shoes as the hills can be pretty steep, and advise against purchasing food to feed then monkeys nor carrying visible drinks as the monkeys as they can become excited.

Good place to take photos. I would suggest not to buy the bananas as the monkey would swarm you and tries to take it away from you. Keep all your stuffs inside your bag if possible(including bag side pocket) as they would seek out items that are protruding. The hills are a little overwhelming to climb for beginners but good for exercise. Overall I would recommend to go if you have never visited.

It’s possible to walk but easier to get here by renting a motor bike. Monkeys are definitely accustom to tourists so hide food or they’ll rush to you and try to steal it. There were moments where I felt I was going to be ambushed by a group of monkeys.

A great and fun activity if you have nothing to do in Phuket. Hike all the way up the hill (and visit the temples along the way) all the way to the top to see the packs of stay dogs and monkeys that seem to be good friends. Be warned that if you have food or plastic bags, the monkeys are likely to try to grab your stuff. They're mostly harmless, but might scare someone not accustomed to being harangued by hungry monkeys

Wear proper shoes, mainly for the decent down. Monkeys galore, you will see them playing with each other, eating from the visitors. Also quite a few dogs. 30-50 minute hike, there are resting spots along the way. The view is alright but i enjoyed the monkey watching more.

Such a high & steep "hill". There is no signage to tell you how far away it is in terms of walking speed and distance. I got so overwhelmingly hot and sweaty from the climb and there was nothing at the summit but some ugly electric station. It was so not worth it that on the way down , I made sure to tell other groups of visitors to get water and that the climb is not a chill one, and that they need to take it slowly.

This was a great way to get some exercise. It is a gradual slop up the hill, all paved, and with limited traffic due to it being a dead end at the top. There are monkeys pretty much the whole way. I didn’t bring anything to feed them, but watching other people it appeared some of the monkey groups were more aggressive than others. Trees block some of the view from the viewpoint at the top.

Monkey hill is exactly as it sounds, a hill with lots of monkeys. We went at the sunset and did not feed the monkeys. Try to remain cautious around the monkeys, even though they are not aggressive. There are stray dogs on the road, but they are completely harmless.

If you like hiking and animals, this is the perfect place to visit. It’s fun and the view is beautiful. Please follow all guidelines about dealing with monkeys for your own safety. Keep objects away, monkeys can take things from you in one second. If you bring food be careful to avoid scratches or bites from the monkeys.

  • 5/5 Jana C. 4 months ago on Google
Its actually way to the viewpoint where you will meet monkeys, many many monkeys. You can buy bananas and other snacks for them at parking lot. But be aware, the monkeys are dangerous, can bite and scratch. If you are going there, take care about your belongings, keep everything in backpack, especially food for monkeys hide in bag, they will try to steal it and they could be dangerous.

  • 5/5 Pavel 9 months ago on Google
If you wish to avoid aggression from monkeys, it's highly recommended not to feed them and refrain from any interaction whatsoever. Furthermore, it's important not to make direct eye contact with a monkey, as they interpret this as an act of aggression. Adhering to these guidelines can help prevent unexpected monkey attacks.

As beautiful as the scenery and view is… those monkeys are not safe to be around. They run, scream, scratch and try to bite. A lot of them are look unwell. DO NOT buy food for them as they will not leave you alone thereafter and your long uphill walk becomes a nightmare. I have never felt fear like I did here.

Good uphill hike! Takes 45 minutes approx to walk to the top of the mountain. The view from the top is decent but not that pretty - it was also cloudy when we went. Plenty of monkeys and there are stalls that sell food you can feed them. Be wary, one of them jumped on a friend’s backpack :p

  • 5/5 Kim N. 1 year ago on Google
Great views. On a hot sweltering day it can be a challenging walk up to the viewpoint. Please heed the signs that say to not feed the monkeys. Bring water. The monkeys have a tendency to approach even if you have no food. They’re cute, but not when they’re grabbing at you. And if you’re walking by yourself after sunset it’s kind of scary when the big ones start making their way towards you in the dark… Also, the banana peels are actually hazardous. I almost slipped walking down after sunset. Make sure you wear appropriate footwear.

Nice little viewpoint of the Phuket Town. The way up is very steep and you can only drive or ride up to the halfway point. The rest you have to hike up. So, get ready for a little sweat. As there are many monkeys, practice caution in not bringing food, or at least not in plain sight or they will grab it from you. Additionally, the road and pathway can be very slippery, so preferably wear a better pair of shoes. Also, try not to visit when raining or right after rain as it gets very slippery. The scenery up the is nice though, but with some foliage blocking the view. The highlight is definitely the monkeys.

It was great fun to see and feed the monkeys. But you have to be carefull with your belongings. Also you should not play with them. Just give them some peanuts that you can buy at the bottom of the hill. If they see you with food, they want to have it. Very cute monkeys (also babys).

Great hike! If you're not in ok shape, I'd personally recommend either renting a scooter or taxi to get up the hill. As for the monkeys, it was an incredible experience to see them in their habitat and interact. One little guy was obsessed with our water bottle, and there were just so many munching on food brought by others. Would definitely recommend!

Please be careful with wild monkeys! I’m pretty sure that you can enjoying walking while watching them, but they are aiming at your belongings all the time. Not only food but also a bottle of water and even your phone. You should avoid wearing your favorite clothes. They might tear up. It’s free and you can enjoy anyway!

They were adamant about getting some food so having too much can bring a swarm of monkeys. Yes they do take things from you so make sure you don't have your arms low or holding on to things. There is a man that feeds them once a day around noon. I was walking past him and felt a tug on my shirt. Had to shoo the little guy away! Other than that it is quite a hike in 90 degree weather to the top! However, it is worth it

(Translated by Google) There are really many monkeys and dogs on the mountain. Dogs hang out on their side, and monkeys climb around. They are arrogant to horror, especially in the morning when they are hungry. They can quickly work out jewelry, food, and a telephone. Be careful. The place is interesting and worth a visit, but be prepared for a hiking trip to the mountain!

Cute monkeys! You can take a taxi straight to the hill. They were not aggressive and people fed them from the hand. They like to drink water from small bottles. Sometimes they grab from people and sometimes people helped them by holding the bottle.

(Translated by Google) I liked it, full of monkeys and dogs, everywhere. But we must be careful because as soon as we saw them they jumped on us to steal the bottles of water, they opened them and they drank! They are very smart and nice, shame about the area, I thought it was kept a little better being a tourist attraction, instead it seems an abandoned place ... It's just a road full of monkeys but a must in Phuket! In case of problems there are guards at the entrance, it is free (Original) Mi è piaciuto, pieno di scimmie e cani, ovunque.

(Translated by Google) Despite the name, we still went to see the top view, they didn’t approach the monkeys, they were not interested in us, we, too, the wild animal, in fact, lives in the wild, it’s not worth it to ruin your vacation and get close to them. By car drove to the very top (Original)

Monkey 🐒 Hill It’s one of the places I wanted to visit very much, and we did it! It’s a hill with a narrow road and beautiful forest, full of monkeys, who appear just to live there. We came there with some food to give them as a treat, and little ones seemed very happy about it. They took peanuts tenderly one by one with their soft paws, and they were amazingly cute peeling them and chewing. Also they were quite good with bananas. But while I was taking pictures a big monkey jumped on my bag with bananas and peanuts and was just swinging on it! I got so scared! I screamed and threw the bag away, monkey took a lot of bananas and ran away. Then I had one more adventure as the monkey decided to climb my leg and get to my purse. I was scared again, but this time I had some peanuts in my hand, so I showed her the food and threw a couple of nuts to the ground and monkey jumped down from me. I must say, they touch and even grab quite tenderly, they don’t scratch as I could expect. The only thing which made me to freak out was the thought that was they could bite. And the last attack was when a big monkey took my dress and started pulling. I turned around too sharply and it started hissing at me. I hid behind Dima, he just stared stricktly at monkey and it went away. Probably my dress with bright flowers was either irritating them or attracting, I can’t say. Next time I will definitely have just jeans and some long sleeves, and gloves, optionally

(Translated by Google) Do not walk up to the top, because there is not room. View tongue, you may wish to turn back. Halfway through the most apes, and they showed a lot. (Original) Älä kävele huipulle saakka, koska siellä ei ole nähtävää. View pontin kohdalla kannattaa kääntyä takaisin. Puolessa välissä on eniten apinoita ja niitä näkyi paljon.

Very greedy monkeys, nearly took away my bag (the bag was without any food). Be careful, males may be dangerous. NEVER tease them. They have very big teeth. Don't take big bags or anything with you, better no bags/hats/glasses at all. I wouldn't recommend you to go there with children.

I love monkey's. Always fun to hang around at the monkey hill and watching the monkey. I suggest to everybody don't come around noon time til 2 pm where the sun is strong. Monkey's might be aggressiv cause of the heat from the sun. Better visit that place around 3-4 PM when the wheather is not hot anymore. Monkey's will be relax and friendly

I would say the view is average and definitely not worth the walk. the monkeys which are nice to see are rough rather than cute. If you haven’t got anything else to do then it’s worth an hour of your time

(Translated by Google) I would recommend using a scooter though. Taxis drop you down so you have to walk a few more kilometers uphill. Not very nice in the heat. Monkeys jump on you, empty your bottles and jump on scooters. Dead scary but fun to watch.

(Translated by Google) Fortunately, you could not drive the scooter through the street where the monkeys live. To protect the monkeys. It was a totally funny experience. Something different. There are also many wild dogs running around, some of which are also very sick (Original) Mit dem Roller konnte man zum Glück nicht durch die Straße, wo die Affen leben, fahren. Zum Schutz der Affen. Es war ein total witziges Erlebnis. Mal anders. Es laufen dort auch viele wilde Hunde rum, die teilweise auch sehr krank sind

👍👍 We were booked on a catamaran day tour with another company but they changed our tour to another day so we cancelled. We booked a tour with Seastar through a local tour desk - AS tours I think. We were picked up at our hotel and taken to the check in location. This was all a little disorganised but...

Wat Mongkhon Nimit
Buddhist temple
👍👍 A well-maintained, glittering Thai Bhuddist temple and stupas. The prayer hall is lovely, being so serene and uncluttered with the golden Buddah gazing over the red carpeted floor. Its not on big grounds, like many other temples, but its clean, shining and worth admiring.
