1 star is too many for the worst service. Group of three people, we ordered 1lb chicken wings, 1 pasta, 1 LARGE nachos that WAS NOT large, it was served on a regular serving size plate, and 1 fish and ships, 1 coke, 1 beer. The waiter came took the order at 8:30 pm. At 9 pm he came back to our table saying : """sorry I had to do some other work, what was your order because I am going to put a rush on it""". After that we had to ask for the food again which came at 9:30 pm. No apologies, or even appreciation of the customer. Nothing to make up for the inconvenience. The food is average, nothing special. For $89 + $10 tips one can dine at better establishments with better food quality, and actual service. What really made us feel uncomfortable was the waiter who stood on top of our table waiting to see how much tips we were going to leave on the debit machine, as if he was providing exceptional service. This place is operating without proficiency or proper management. I have noticed that the owner is complementing all the positive reviews and ignoring the negative ones. As a business owner I myself, I would rather listen and pay attention to the negatives and try to fix them if I want to keep a successful business.

My husband and I spotted and looked forward to eating there. I find this disappointing. The server was very nice. I ordered fish and chips but I asked for the salad. I got not too hot and not too fresh fish. I could tell that it was reheated. And it came with old and dried lemon slices. I tried my son’s chicken wings. Same. Not too hot and not fresh.

Stopped in with some friends for a drink a bite to eat on St Patrick's day . Got a table right away on the closed in side veranda area. From where I was sitting I could see six tv's all showing sports. No problem with that, just know it's kind of a sports bar. Good service, friendly young guy. We ordered a "large" plate of nachos to start. Tasted okay but it was not large. A and I both had the steak pie which came with French fries. The fires were fine but the meat pie was terrible. I would go here again but only for a drink with friends. Definitely wouldn't order any food. Lots of free parking

Came here for lunch with my niece. I thought it was going to be a normal pub food but they actually have a great selection of meals to choose from. I had the grilled veggie wrap and my niece had the bangers and mash. We both enjoyed our meals. Also the price is reasonable for a sit down restaurant. I would come back to eat here again.

While the architecture is interesting and the wood interiors are beautiful, Liverpool John’s has a bit of a grungy bar feel to it. There was definitely a smell of urine in the air, but we were seated in a booth next to the washrooms. The booth itself had seats that were ragged-looking where the suede had come off the seat. I found it hard to slide in since my clothing clung to the seat. So you had to sit, lift up, slide in the air while crouched under the table, shifting your legs over, and then sit. The service was friendly and our server worked hard to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. The tap beer was good and we ordered half price burgers (Monday special), mine was the Liverpool Devil (bacon and onion ring w BBQ sauce), his the peameal and cheese, both of which were substantial and both of which we enjoyed. The onion rings were also very good. The fries have an extra coating, and while they weren’t my favourite, he liked them. Food and service are good. I would definitely find a different table next time. Hoping they can fix the reek from the washroom in the meantime.

Would not recommend, food is bland and basic. Service was not the best, not sure if it was his first day or if he just has terrible listening skills. Ordered the beets and goat cheese salad, among other things, and it was definitely not worth $18, maybe $5. The place looks really nice but unfortunately they have to do better with the food and service.

First and foremost those fish tacos god damn. The batter was crunchy and rich. SEIROUSLY amazing fish tacos. I had the penne arribittia as well which was a big meh. Not bad but not great either. Then for dessert the creme brulee, which was under torched and had lots of noncaramelized sugar on top and could have been warmer. Then to top it all off, during our meal we saw not one but two baby rats scrurry through the dining room. So if you are ratphobic you might not want to come here. All in all beautiful building. Friendly and attentive servers. Food sub par. Food safety standards very poor.

Saw a huge Rat on Sunday. Just running around the dining room. Staff reacted as if it was just another Sunday. Shocking. Called Durham Health. Hopefully it’s cleaned up. Luckily I was only there for a quick pint

I ordered Chicken souvlaki plate, food is not the same quality as else where. Chicken was not cooked enough and rice was soggy. Denied a refund because the Manager wasn't available. Unfortunately we lost our Pickering hot spot to poorly made food and bad customer service.

Was here last night during super bowl. Our waitress we had Candy I think her name was. Was really great she was always wanting to know if we needed anything. But when she left we found it very hard to even get service. Other then that our food was great and both restaurant and washrooms were clean.

Firstly we had booked the upper floor for a birthday party, the Air conditioning was not working and some spot lights were also switched off. Food here was good

Had driven past this historic landmark bar/restaurant numerous times on Kingston Road and had been meaning to try it. I was not disappointed and actually surprised. Went in for pub faire and ended up realising there is a full delicious Italian menu in addition to. Went there for a date and both our meals were excellent and there were lots of drink options available. Cannot also describe the awesome classic wood and the unique old wood fragrance you get while eating your meal, places like that just don't exist anymore. Overall I would happily go again and look forward to trying more items on the menu.

the food and service at this restaurant are decent, however below is the feedback I sent to the restaurant but received no response: Good evening, I visited your location a couple of weeks ago after calling in advance and receiving assurance that it is wheelchair accessible. While the main dining room is most certainly accessible as are your washrooms, the access door is not. The ramp is one of the best I've seen, however after struggling to navigate over the crumbling piece of plywood at the top, making the turn with a mobility device in the narrow space to face the door made it overly challenging. There is a sign advising to ring the buzzer for access, however the buzzer casing is empty and there is a phone number in barely visible print to call for access. This is not inclusive. I sincerely hope that the restaurant management will take this feedback to heart as it will have an adverse impact on the reputation of your establishment. I look forward to dining at your restaurant again at a time when the situation has been rectified.

I thought I would come out with some friends for a few drinks and apps I have to say I was so extremely disappointed. We ordered few drinks in which 1 of them they couldn't make as they had no mint for a mojito. The Blue Lagoon had no vodka and too much sprite. We order calamari which was fine however the nachos were totally dry and had no cheese. Considering we paid a pretty penny for the meal it was totally not worth it. Waited for water for an hour, asked 3 times and finally got it. I have to say not even an apology or a manager to come by and sort the terrible service and lack of good food. Definitely would never come back.

Its ok...from outside in daytime you notice the outside needs some TLC. At night time your wouldn't notice. Inside its a nice atmosphere and wait staff are very attentive. Food appeared to be fresh. Check it out. They are open late as well.

Very bad service. Will never refer this place to anyone ever. Services had no experience. Did not come to check up on food. Did not know anything on the menu. Food was cold and not well done at all and customers had to wait 45 minutes -1 hour on food. Sever didn’t want to give receipt because he got double tipped. He included it in the total amount with the food and didn’t inform the customer and got double tip. Poor service

I paid a deposit in October for my private event in November to find out a week before our event the doors were closed for non payment of his rent! Owner did answer the phone when I called and told me he would give me my deposit back in 2 weeks once he got things settled and now he wont return any of my calls or emails.

Came here for the first time on a Saturday night and got great customer service from the server named Didi. She was so friendly and had a beautiful, welcoming smile!

After coming to LPJ for years Im very disappointed in their staff and management. Went in for drinks with some work friends and we were charged for shots we didn't ask for. When we brought it up to the server she tried to explain it wasn't her fault then proceeded to the table next to us and BLATANTLY was trash talking to another table about us. Bartender also threatened to FIGHT my friend outside... When I emailed to get in touch with a manager I was very disappointed with their response and I'm STILL waiting on a response. It's ok that the bartender doesn't know messed up the drinks we ordered.. We understand as we all work in the service industry, but to threaten us is where I have a big problem. As I said I've been going to this bar for years and never experienced this level of disrespect.

This establishment is chaotic, not only the bar patrons can be rough but the service seems all over, id assume either understaffed or not trained properly. Many of the mixed drinks I have ordered have come watered down or with so much ice it was above the rim of the glass.

I ordered a while ago with Skip for take out and it was late, when I called to follow up they didn’t have a great answer as to why. That wasn’t terrible, just disappointing. I just ate in the restaurant this weekend and the service really wasn’t good. We had to ask to order food after sitting for 15 mins (no one else was there, although they were setting up for a large party) and then when we did order, it wasn’t right. Wasn’t a complicated order, and the food wasn’t great (chicken fingers, a sandwich, a wrap). Two thumbs down.

We decided to come here for lunch around 2pm on a Sunday with a party of 6, we got turned away because they didn't have enough staff. Thanks for the honesty but next time the gang decides we want to go for lunch we will probably not pick this place as they may not have enough staff. Disappointing. Working in the restaurant industry for years. If we were understaffed you would accommodate in anyway possible such as giving them a heads up wait times may be a little be longer then normal for food and drinks or we are a bit busy right now can you come back in 30 minutes giving the customers the choice. Not turn people away. Very off putting .

Farough will make you feel like a Pharoah. Clean taps, excellent service, and a good sound system to boot. They have an espresso machine in the back ... I didn't have a chance to try the menu, but it looks realistically priced and delicious. Enjoy!

Friendly staff. Italian menu is a great addition. Very good pasta and pizza. Also like some of the pub food. Always filling. Side note: the restaraunt is absolutely freezing every time we come. Makes it extremely uncomfortable and unenjoyable to eat in your coat. They really need to remember customers being comfortable is extremely important.

The food was amazing, staff was very friendly. We chatted and took our time to order. Our waitress was so patient. Unfortunately the table was a bit sticky, maybe hasn't been wiped in while, the amount of fruit flies spoiled the experience. The table beside had spilled a drink, so we caught a break from the flies for a minute. If they cleaned up a bit more, would have given 5 stars.

Been take out fr these guys for a while because as a foodie and someone who work in a restaurant, I like to support other restaurants! I absolutely love the food and their Alfredo is amazing! I always ask to make it spicy and i love how they are able to accommodate! thanks LJs!! Can’t wait to dine in again

I've always drove by this restaurant before and after remodeling, looks great but very confusing entrance (two doors for a split pub/Italian entryway). However most of this review will be towards the 45mins+ wait for food, a shared appetizer and main meal came at the same time on an Sunday (3 groups including us were at the restaurant). We had to reach out to see why it was taking so long, and only to be told that the kitchen was held up. The two male servers were most helpful, but the rest of them just hid inside at the bar side. Will probably be my first and last visit, food tasted great at the end at least.

The other night joined some colleagues to celebrate the new school year. We have been to this restaurant before and had a great experience. But this time we were very surprised to witness a serving staff person finish their shift and then proceed to sit in the bar area talking at the top of her lungs about her life and how sick she is of F'in Covid. While we were eating our food we got to listen to her scream on a FaceTime call and then inform us about her many trips to the Whitby 905 strip club! Super awesome. Otherwise the food was great and the drinks were many.
