Nice and friendly staff. Clean establishment. Decent tasting food. Oxtail could be more tender with a bit more seasoning. The soup base was nice. However I would appreciate actual meat pieces in the soup and not all cut up dumpling taking up the whole container. Stew peas were good. The curry goat roti had a but too much salt for me, but the flavour and spice was there. Jerk pork would be the go-to meal.

We love us some Yardies!! One of our favourite restaurants and the best Caribbean food in Durham!! Ox Tail, Jerk Chicken, Curry Goat, Stew Chicken are fantastic and thier soups are amazing!

Absolutely the best Caribbean restaurant I have had in a long long time! Me and my husband drive all the way from Strathroy Ontario to eat here. The curry goat calls my name, and I order it every single time with a Ting on the side... strongly recommended. you will not be disappointed.

Great tasting food! Anytime I'm in the Pickering/Ajax area I have to stop and get food here. Consistently great flavours and friendly service! Seating area is avaliable but not many seats. I usually order for takeout.

Very busy spot delicious food real authentic Caribbean dishes. Service and food was really good especially the soup on a cold day. The oxtail, rice and peas was so delicious huge portion size. I really wanted to try and rate the experience for myself and I was very satisfied. The owner was very pleasant and welcoming thanks for your recommendations;-) Looking forward to visiting again!

Their jerk pork recipe is phenomenal! Tender meat, excellent jerk seasoning, with the right amount of spice, flavourful rice and delicious plantain. Portion to price is very reasonable for a large. I'll definitely be back! Wish they had a Toronto location.

Delicious! We used to go to Patois for our jerk chicken fix but now they've closed. We tried out Yardies and they did not disappoint!! Spices on point, good portions, and I love that they include a couple pieces of plantains to complete the meal.

Incredible food! First time here I tried jerk chicken, oxtail, rice and peas, rum cake, plantain, coleslaw. Everything was hot, tasty and fresh.

Ordered large jerk pork meal and it was good. Pork was not dry. The pickled onions is a good add-on. Will definitely be back to try their ox tail and salted fish.

I think durham is hurt for good jerk chicken and Yardies seems to have some good food. Although a little pricey for a jerk chicken meal I feel like in a pinch for jerk chicken it’s a not bad choice. 4/5 ⭐️

By far the best Carribean food in the area by a long shot. Their food is freah and value for money. The best thing I love is the jerk pork sandwich for only $5. Their jerk chicken, oxtail and goat curry are also sublime. A must have if you are in the area!

Good tasting food and sides!! The small size option is probably not enough for a proper meal, so do get “large”. Lots of meat for the jerk chicken and jerk pork, and nice perfectly fried pieces of plantain.

This place is special. Every time I come through from Atlanta this place is the first stop. Great food. Great service. Great reputation. This go round we ordered the jerk chicken. It was late in the evening and we thought there may not be food. Sure enough, they fixed us up nice with plantain, patties, and all the trimming. Hot, fresh, and good to go. All the reviews are true. Hit this place up. Enjoy. (Now back to Atlanta)

We did the sample plates to get a bit of what we wanted, and we were not disappointed. The jerk pork is really good along with the jerk chicken and festivals. They prepared our food extremely fast and it was delicious to the last bite. I would highly recommend Yardies for great tasting West Indian food.

The line up of customers at Yardies lets you know that their food is on point. I’ve now tried their jerk chicken and stew chicken dinners. Both were flavourful and a generous portion. The dinner comes with their coleslaw, which I highly rate! I love the flavour and consistency of their coleslaw. Luckily, I work close by to give me a chance to try more items on their menu. Next visit will be for their oxtail.

This is the best go-to place for jerk chicken when you no longer live in Scarborough. Over the months we've noticed a change in their portion (Today there was barely any pickled onions) and the chicken isn't as soft. Are there new owners? We don't see the gentleman up front anymore. We've been coming here for years and would like to continue, but we're definitely looking to explore our options elsewhere.

Great portions of food that are worth the price. Rare time I've had more oxtail than rice lol! And I'm loving that they gave dumpling AND plantain on the side. Recommend for a full stomach and a good nap afterwards 😊

Food was delicious. There two tables outside if you choose to sit and eat. It’s a secret gem. We are from out of town was happy to find this place😋Portion was generous. Oxtails Ida must try.

Who knew you could pack so much flavor into coleslaw. I learn something new every day. Plus, I found a Jamaican restaurant that actually serves yellow yam! If only I could get this at a Yardie price or at least a toonie Tuesday 😆

The oxtail, rice & peas, does not look like the photos. At least the day we went in June of 23. A nice rich dark brown is what we expected. I am a bit spoiled. From Brooklyn and nothing can touch Golden Krust.

I can't say enough good things about this place. The food is consistently excellent any of day of the week, and the staff are so kind. I've had my fair share of jerk chicken over the decades and this might be the best of the best!

I cannot say enough great things about this place. They have the best Caribbean food in all of Ontario not just Pickering. If you have read my other reviews you will see that I am very picky. If a restaurant is bad I do not hold back! The customer service is excellent! The food is so GREAT! The restaurant is very clean! The portions are in line with the price point! I wish I could give this place a thousand stars! I highly recommend the jerk chicken or jerk chicken sandwich! I am so happy that I found this gem of a restaurant! Please do not change Yardies!!!!

Yardies, has become one of my personal super favorites. Here’s why the jerk chicken is purely authentic the way in my country of birth Jamaica does it. They literally have the flavors and presentation exquisitely expressed in the taste FULLSTOP. Now, I do apologize for the pictures but I was fasting that particular day when I ordered brown stewed Jamaican fish of course I started with a cup of soup! 😆 Yardies, thank you so much for always treating me with respect and so you all other customers. Your experience shared with us in your food is well worth not the hype in my case but the regular visits! Thank you stop by and enjoy this authentic array of of deliciousness!!!

It was my first time having Jamaican food being a Bengali and I swear to God, it has become one of my favourite cuisines. The oxtail was so tender and fresh. It tasted like fresh cut beef with zero foul smell. I know what bad beef taste like but this was phenomenal. I know I am going to have the oxtail thousand times from Yardies. I want to try the jerk chicken next. Y’all doing great I am so happy.
