A charming setting with affordable prices and delicious Schnitzel. When opting for the Viennese Schnitzel (which I highly recommend), be prepared for a generous portion that comes with a side salad. Since it can get busy during lunch hours, I recommend booking a table in advance.

Well worth a visit - book if you can, we almost didn't get a table due to reservations. Food was awesome, steaks and schnitzel both perfect and nice drinks menu. Staff spoke good English and the place has a great vibe.

Nicest spaetzle so far. Recommended to order. Suggest to share a portion for those who has small stomach. Not to say their Schnitzel is great too ! Waiter is helpful and friendly.

Fantastic - if HUGE - meal. I came from work on a Friday, so knew solo dining might be difficult but they nicely accommodated me. Vibe is great - cosy lovely - fairly young crowd, and really nice service. I had a local beer while I waited, and before I ordered they knew their Schnitzel was infamous so suggested that! I decided to swap the fries for spaetzle, and was served a simple but well-dressed salad to start. The seasonal menu looked good though so I'd consider that next time. Be warned, the portions are HUGE. Like America size huge. I could only muster the one Schnitzel and felt terrible for the amount of spaetzle left but it really is a big portion! The schnitzel was very good though, tasted freshly battered and perfect with a squeeze of lemon. The spaetzle was well-flavoured, definitely one of the better ones I've had in Munich. This is a fantastic place for a hearty meal with friends or family, have a few pints & a cosy, lovely eve. Recommend booking in advance as full by 7pm.

Good food and super friendly staff! However, the kitchen was about to close which made the dish crew come out to clean/dry dishes and emptying ketchup bottles in the dining area. This made us a bit stressed. Not a very clean place. Felt more like a sports bar than a restaurant. But the food was good!

I think it's one of the best places to eat here in München. Gargantua-sized plates, delicious food (we came for the schnitzel and were not disappointed neither with the pork or the turkey one). Delicious & not expensive. Perfect ! Staff is rly welcoming too. ☀️

Loved it! We found this place from a lot of lists and to have the best schnitzel in town and weren’t disappointed! Good value for money and massive portions.

What a find. The schnitzel is everything other reviews already mentioned. Perfectly flattened, seasoned, and cooked. I had with sliced potatoes also perfectly cooked, a salad, and naturally a beer. The service was friendly and informative. All for under 20 euros. What else could I ask for?

As tourists passing through München on our way to Italy, I can't express how happy I am we stopped by Steinheil 16! A very casual and cute looking restaurant with fantastically delicious food, extremely kind waitstaff and a very welcoming atmosphere. The portions are delightfully large, and the staff was incredibly helpful suggesting we could take the food we couldn't finish with us—to avoid unnecessary waste! You leave this place happy, having experienced great food, and full. I can't wait to visit this restaurant again next time I'm anywhere close.

Very worth it price wise, a huge bigger-than-your-face schnitzel and a hefty portion of taters to go with it. Suggest getting the potato's instead of fries because the potatoes are freshly done, and fried very well. I think I enjoyed the potatoes even more than the schnitzel itself. Also comes with a salad. It was enough to last me 2.5 meals. Was fully reserved, so reserve for dinner before you come.

Cozy, quaint place in a non-touristy part of town. I had the traditional curry-wurst which I had been craving and it was absolutely delicious. My son ordered the steak with sweet potato fries and it came with a tasty simple salad. Doesn't sound fancy but the food quality was worth the 25 min walk from our hotel (a busy touristy area). Drink menu here is simple for cocktails but I will say that the Hugo I ordered was the more refreshing one I had on this trip. Service was excellent and friendly - their English quite good!

Wiener Schnitzel was nice, the fries were okay. It would be nice if there was a potato salad option with the schnitzel. The food arrived pretty quick. The air conditioning inside can be improved.

Can understand why this place is always on the list for best schnitzel (pork) in Munich. Cute little spot, filled with locals further away from the touristy areas of the city. We also had the bread dumplings to share which were deliciously unhealthy. My mate raved about the turkey schnitzel too. A whole bunch of veggie options for non meat lovers too.

Schnitzel was pretty good, maybe just a hair short of great, but absolutely enormous portion size. Pretty good value for money there; you will absolutely be full afterwards. I highly recommend getting the crispy potatoes as the side, rather than fries - they are super good.

Great! I first met this place 6 years ago. I came back to München with my wife and I said "we must eat in this place I know" and we loved it! It was as great as the first time. The food is delicious, and the dish is a good size, actually big size! If you're not too hungry I recommend ordering one schnitzel to share, or to take home the rest. Anyway, it was great eating here and coming back to this place. If I come back again, I'm sure I'll eat here!!

The go to dish in this small restaurant is the schnitzel for sure. For only 15€ you get a small salad as a side dish and a very big schnitzel with potatoes. I really recommend choosing the potatoes instead of the fries! The service was very nice and we still managed to get a place even though it was quite busy. You should call in beforehand or come earlier than 2pm/3pm. All in all delicious food, nice staff and very good value for the money!

We heard about this place several times before and we finally tried it yesterday. It was fantastic and the price. We would have liked a little more salt on the chicken but it was still tasty. And the price… a must go if you ask us. The waiters were also super nice. We loved it. 5* and we will come back.

Epic schnitzel (best we’ve had in Germany!) and fried potatoes and even the turkey schnitzel was super tender and yummy too. The oven baked potato with quark, salad and sautéed mushrooms is also a good veg option, if needed.

Very nice atmosphere, big portions, friendly staff. All I can criticize is, that there is not much option of meals. You can order only different sources of Schnitzel or turkey steak or beef steak.

Honest, good food. Not fancy but value for money is hard to beat. The schnitzel is their thing but the day menu and eg gulash is also very good! PS.: portions are very generous…. Very!

Nice restaurant to enjoy authentic German (from Bayaran) food!! Schnitzel was huge with tasty baked and fried potatoes, highly recommended to try it :) The location is close to Alte Pinakokthek so you can go to the restaurant after you enjoy the masterpiece of art in the museum!

Steinheil is a wonderful place to stop for a local draft beer and some traditional German food. Portions are extremely large with fair prices. They will happily grab you a takeaway box when you inevitably fail to finish your food. We went with the pork schnitzel with fried potatoes and cheesy, mushroom and fried onion spaetzle; both were phenomenal and I wouldn't suggest one over the other. Added bonus, they accept credit cards if you want to keep your cash on hand for those that do not.

We didn't make a reservation and had to wait a little. Attention, you can only make online reservations until 14:30 the same day. Nevertheless the staff was great and gave us a table as soon as one was free. The little wait was definitely worth it. One of the best "Schnitzel" I have ever had. It also came with a salad and all of that for just 12.90€ is unbeatable. I can only recommend this restaurant.

The vegan curry sausage was so delicious. And the fries were so yummy. You get lots of fries and a good-sized sausauge, so you'll be more than full after the meal. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly as well. I will be visiting again when I'm in town again.

Came here with friends with no reservations and were still accommodated. I would say we got lucky considering how busy the place was. We all got beers and dinner and it was amazing. Pork Schnitzel and Turkey Schnitzel are the way to go!

The food was very good, decent prices. The service was a bit on the slow side, as in having to flag down our waiter to pay, other than that, it was good! It was also quite loud, but it's a restaurant so it's understandable. We got fish with cucumber salad/potatoes. It was so good!

  • 5/5 Agostino M. 7 months ago on Google
Delicious viennese-style both pork, turkey and soy schnitzel with fries. Cozy place frequented by students and young worker too. Very good beers and you can also order a proper "schnit" at the end of the meal, very traditional! It's a casual beer (small or big, lager pils weiss whatever) just to spend a little bit more time with friends in the restaurant.

It was nice to get a vegetarian schnitzel and a decent portion but the place loses a star because they wouldn't serve me a glass of tap water (perhaps only drinking beer is some kind of Bavarian tradition, but I'll die without water).

  • 4/5 Coco L. 9 months ago on Google
Great place for a Schnitzel. Pretty big portion sizes, too. A bit hectic for lunch, but will definitely come back for dinner. Service not that great, but probably because it was super crowded and during lunch break.

After 2 days of heavy food and drinks at touristy biergartens, we decided to go here for a late dinner. Arrived just before 9pm and got a table straightaway without reservation. Shared a pork schnitzel between 2 persons after reading reviews on the portion size - it was the right choice and delicious too. Friendly service!

Cute little spot in the university part of town. Young crowd, good atmosphere, cold beer (Augustiner), yummy Aperol, and delicious generous portions of food. They have an English menu and all the friendly staff we spoke to, also spoke English.

What a great find slightly outside of the touristy areas. There was a lunch menu for $9.90, but we had the pork schnitzel with fried potatoes from the regular menu instead, loved it! Huge generous portions, and great cheerful service from the servers. What a jem!

  • 3/5 Robyn B. 1 year ago on Google
Stumbled onto this place which was mostly packed at around 6:30pm. The staff was gracious and let us sit at a reserved table until the next people came. There was a special dinner menu and I ordered asparagus since it was in season. Interesting thing to order as the plate just had asparagus and boiled potatoes with a small ramekin of sauce for dipping, no seasoning on anything. The beer was good and every one was very helpful.

  • 5/5 Stella T. 11 months ago on Google
Very large, tasty portions and most of them include salad. Fast and polite service, good prices. Better make a reservation before you go.

  • 4/5 Joanna C. 11 months ago on Google
Very friendly and helpful staff, they speak English! The service was really fast and the menu was rich! Prices are cheap, much cheaper compared to most central places in Munich. The food was tasty and had a good combination of flavours and texture. The only negative was that my beer had so much foam that it was almost half-full after the foam disappeared. All in all, really good.

  • 3/5 gonegirl0724 1 year ago on Google
Schnitzels are nice. Unfortunately the service is quite poor. We got there at 2 pm and waited one hour for our food. We ordered 3 drinks in total and one beer was forgotten. A customer on another table even got hit by the bottle cap when the bartender tried to open some drink.

  • 4/5 Sarah L. 2 years ago on Google
Friendly staff (not all of them). Had the classic famous Schnitzel and of course it was perfect! Food was fresh and we arrived 30 minutes earlier than our reservation and they were nice about it!

  • 5/5 Buke A. 2 years ago on Google
Delicious food and great service / staff. The portions are huge, the schnitzel comes with a generous serving of fries and salad. A must go for good schnitzel and a local fare.

  • 4/5 Kostas S. 2 years ago on Google
Pros: - Reasonable prices - Generous portions - Fast service - Really tasty food. Cons: - Too much oil left on the fries and schnitzel. - The restaurant should care a bit more for hygiene matters (COVID 19 precautions) Overall a nice experience, recommended :)

Great food. Make sure you make a reservation as the restaurant is a victim of its success.

These dishes taste like home-made, and they are really huge! The service is perfect - quick, friendly, and English-speaking. Visited this place for a couple times: in summer I was lucky to get a seat without reservation, and their pasta with chanterelles was just fantastic. Yesterday we were there with the family, reserved the seats online - the place is really very popular. Turkey schnitzel with butter, baked potato and vegetables, as well as fricassee were both delicious. Great value for reasonable money! My best recommendations and many thanks to the staff!
