Amazing venue with concert halls, chill our areas, bars and a large garden. Great for (mostly metal) gigs and parties, having beers with friends, meeting new people and just have a great time! I was here in November and it was raining and cold outside, but I can imagine how awesome this place will be in Summer! Deffo coming back! Danke schön Backstage, for making my München weekend even more fun!

It's an on and off experience. In general I like the venue - it's spacious with a beer garden outside and has some rough look to it. Rather leftist posters and slogans. Inside there's multiple "levels" so more people can get a look at the stage - at the same time it's not *that* huge, so even in the back it feels quite intimate compared to other venues. Downside during summer (and in general when it's really packed) is that there's no air conditioning. It gets hot like in a sauna. Might add to an unforgettable moshpit experience if that's what you're looking for though. The queue to the coat check is sometimes enormous and takes forever ;/

Saw a FANTASTIC performance by the legend "Burning Spear" at Backstage Kulturezentrum. The sound mix and lighting were great too in this cosy venue. We were also hugely impressed with the other various bands playing within 50 few metres around this stage....Great place to see quality live music.

Incredible place! Concert, events, music, drinks... All you want and more. Literally has some insanely fun event every week. I am extremely happy to have a place like this in Munich.

Backstage is really dope! What I like the most about is that it offers variety of activities every now and then. Recently, they had Free&easy for 18 days free entrance and each night different music. The service in the whole event was nice.

Its the worst event space I have seen in my whole life. It looks like a converted swimming pool into a event space. Inside this place is a concrete hole with stairs and railing Inside is Dark as deep cave with inaccessible entrance.

Confusing and unwelcoming to foreigners. Bartender decided to start asking for a 2€ deposit after the English speaking woman in front of me made a scene for the same two lagers that were 1€ before. Staff gave us bad advice on where to watch the football match, spent 30 minutes walking all over only to find it behind a shrub that could not be moved.

A versatile complex with different-sized stage areas/venues on site, which are self-contained and allow multiple shows simultaneously, or the accomodation of bands with smaller followings or large international groups with large draws. Outdoor Biergarten allows outdoor viewing of broadcast Football matches, which is great for National Team matches, Champions League, or others. This is a joint that gives back to the hardcore music community, through the annual Free & Easy Festival - a series of shows over at least a week, which are, as the name implies- Free! This brings in a huge variety of bands and allows small or local acts exposure, but also pleases with big names and touring mainstays of the scene. Grab a Bier and check it out. The Backstage won't disappoint!

Very big place with several concert halls. Usually the sound is good. Doesn't matter how tall are you or if you are in the front or back you will always see the stage, at least the ones I've been to. Beer has a fair price. I have just an issue, if you drink beer on the terace you cannot enter with it in the concert hall, it is not fair since it's bought from them.

One of the few places left where metal is still alive. There are two stages with some great bands coming. I love the beer garden areas here and it's well maintained with lots of places to sit out and have a beer. Also like the fact there are bars within the stages making it easy to get drinks.

Quite near to where we live, so no complaints! Pretty good places, u will get to see quite nr. of bands playing here, not necessarily mainstream.

Organizing a concert with 3-4000 people and probably hundreds of cars and offering no parking place is stupid. Coming from another city and not knowing the neighborhood at night made it even worse. Eventually we found a place to park our car somewhere 10 minutes away of walking. The cue line was hundreds of people and more than 100m long. The doors opened at 18:00, we waited in line so long that by the time we got in, the first band’s concert was over, at 18:50. The sound was good, but the whole experience was clouded by the aforementioned things. Not again, anytime soon. Let the people from München go there with the buses and the trams.

One very cool location. There are lots of concert halls, bars and eatery, and a whole lot. But what I love most is the fact that after you get in with your ticket, you can literally go to any other concert or party going on there. A very cool place!

Great location for concerts in Munich. The stage setup is great and the outdoor area is perfect for hanging out. Went to see Polyphia there. The sound was great!

Great place, enough space outside for food, drinks, and smoking. Sound system was nice, people were kind and toilets were clean.

Best Location in Munich for medium sized rock concerts (great sound, close to the band). Offers the great Augustiner beer at an average cost (for Munich). Shouldn't come here by car though as the parking situation is very limited

We stayed for the Dark Easter Metal meeting. Nice experience overall. The only "but" is they don't accept cards in most of the stands and merch...

One of the best hangout sites in Munich. Not snobbish, multiple shows most weekends, so one can always switch if one is boring.. Bouncers are friendly, maybe because most of them are Africans. Beer garden also nice. Would definitely recommend.

From the reviews I thought it was much worse! I went to see The Interrupters at the Werk. The place is so cool! It looks a bit like a maze, though. Coming from the subway station it was so easy to find. (From maps it looked super complicated and much farther away). I had a very good time. Organization was great, very fast. The venue is very nice and the sound is good. Only negative thing: the heat. So much heat. Too hot. Too sweaty. Thanks to the security guys who provided us with water!!

Easy to find, parking is for a reasonable price available. I’ve been there a few months ago with friends. Can be crowded as expected

Super cool venue I went for a rock night, but I know they have a wide range of band and artist that play here. Drinks are priced fairly This venue is alse open to the public if you just fancy a drink or are waiting for your gige to begin. Highly recommend a visit

Nice venue with two different stages and lots of greenery but needs more than one food van. Queued for over an hour. That meant missing 2 bands!

I visited here for Halloween party and office Christmas party. The vibe and crowd is good. The Halloween party had 3 separate areas with different music styles to suit your taste. It would be better if the music had more English songs mixed.

There was no information about letting dogs in the Biergarten. We weren't allowed in with them to watch the football and they sent me home, the wangs. I'm very disappointed and it smelled like poo

There is no air conditioning so do not come in summer! The halle room is great!

  • 5/5 Alexandra V. 6 years ago on Google
Just great! Sound was good, the Halle was large enough for the public and the stuff was nice. (Carach Angren + Rotting Christ)

  • 3/5 Radoslav M. 1 year ago on Google
Nice place overall, but I had a few small complaints. Before the concert we were made not only to pour our water, but to throw/leave our bottles outside, which was inconvenient. The washroom sign was very small and hard to find in the crowd, the water costs much more than in any other place and was no ventilation, so the whole place was awfully hot and there were no COVID precautions at all. Still the lighting, sound and overall atmosphere were very good.

Sickkk venue. Can’t wait to come back already. Super warm inside, little airflow so dress light in summer. Plenty of tables to sit outside in the jungle

A lot of great shows here. They have 3 venues there, can host everything from smaller local events up to mid-sized or slightly bigger gigs (went to see HC shows or Chuck Ragan - hundreds of people can fit in). There is also a nice biergarten with great atmosphere. One of the best places for music fans in Munich!

We went to a vintage market, nice crowd allround. The food trucks could have been better, the veggie falafel truck was a let down for my vegetarian friends, soggie fries, tasteless rolls. We are looking forward the The Hu concert in July, next time we will eat elsewhere 🙂

Good place for cultural event : Different types of events (music, flohmarkt etc), But go somewhere else for a drink : met a waitress from the Augustiner bar that make you pay 1,5€ pfand, don't give you a coin so then refuse to give you your pfand back against the bottle

Last night my drink was spiked at the bar. Luckily I noticed before drinking it, but when I went to get security, they told me I was making it all up and kicked my group of friends and I out of the bar. We were told that it simply didn't happen and that I couldn't prove it, denying any responsibility. The police were called and the production manager got involved, but at the end of the day, there were no consequences.

Very big! But the bar is toooo small, and I'm not sure how they screen the folks who come in, because there were some rough people.

If you love ROCK Music 🎶 : BACKSTAGE is a perfect place🔥 , where you can be ☝️ Yourself with all your inner Demons 😈 . Two halls, nice sound, qualified playlist, amazing visitors, interesting communication and pretty cheap drinks😏 Highly recommend 🔥

Great location especially if it comes down to rock music! It’s just one of those areas in Munich that don’t seem to posh and you can really get lost there! Will definitely go again!

  • 5/5 Peter Viktor Wagner (. 3 years ago on Google
Very well organized quarantine concert, nice and professional staff, the prices are average, we will visit some more for sure. They have alcohol-free beverages as well if you would prefer that. The coins you receive with your drinks for glasses and bottles, i.e. the ”Pfand”, can be offered for charity at the end of the show if you wish, this is also a cool idea.

We visited the kids Flohmarkt. 10 Minutes before closing the market we were asked to pay the entrance fee. Not that I don’t want to pay, but not the full price. In general it looked relatively organized and the families were very kind. We were not able to find clothes for the right age. A lot baby stuff.
