Ambience and location are great. The beach front is gorgeous and ideal for families. Today I had my first breakfast here and service has been awkwardly terrible for us, our server had clearly no experience nor any knowledge of their menu. They could not explain anything of their dishes and made mistakes to our order, we were both speaking perfect Spanish so that was not the issue here. To make matters worse our server did not show any interest in making things right. Food is not bad but it is also not great, just between ok & good. It was a well presented & balance early meal. It’s almost a meh. Other than that our order came fast. 👍🏼

Spent an afternoon here while staying in PDC for the thanksgiving holiday week. Not cheap - $1400MX per beach chair but you get $1000MX in credit for food and drink. Service was great. Drinks were strong. Music was good. Recommended.

Mamita's Beach Club in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico is a hidden gem that should not be missed! The location is simply breathtaking, with crystal clear waters and powder-soft sand. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and always eager to ensure that guests have an enjoyable experience. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it the perfect place to unwind and soak up the sun. Whether you are looking for a delicious meal, a refreshing drink, or a place to lounge and people watch, Mamita's Beach Club has you covered. I would highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting the area. You won't be disappointed!

I thought this would be a great place for tacos but I was wrong. Beautiful views but a very crowded beach. The beef tacos left much to be desired. I've found the places here with the highest rents are not the best places for good tasting food or even drinks for that matter. The service was good but a bit slow.

Decent service and drinks, but food is absolute garbage. This is what they consider a beef taco ($12 USD) - a piece of bacon on a soggy taco with a few bits of onion. Needless to say I didn't even touch that plate. And when complained to the waiter about it (literally asked him if he would eat that himself) he just stared at me with a bedazzled, deer in the headlights look in his eyes like I was the crazy one. The cheap $2 street tacos are a Michelin star experience compared to this sad and miserable excuse for food. Just... wow. The audacity of this place to even serve something like this and then demand we pay for it... incredible.

Nice location on beach, cool vibe, friendly staff. Slightly marred by being charged $150 for side of chips! (not itemised on menu).

Service is very efficient and food is good. Note: for a beach bar/restaurant they were very strict: we couldn't sit at the bar in our swimsuit. It also seemed like they valued efficiency over customer care, for example: they hurried us to close our tab when they decided to, even if we were still there and so we then had to open another tab. Renting a sunbed and umbrella is quite expensive considering the quality of them and location.

Very lovely beach club. Food, service, atmosphere and facilities are top notch! They have well maintained restrooms and foot wash/shower facilities. Very important for after a day in the sand to rinse down. The pool over looks the beach and is a wonderful upgrade. It gives you access to both beach and pool area. So pretty to see the water but not have sand everywhere! I have been here many times and it always hits the mark. Your items will be safe on their lounge chairs. I have never had an issue to go for a stroll or swim for 30+ mins. My things are always right where I left them. The staff is friendly and respectful. Give this place a try!! The food here: fresh and delicious!!! Definitely come have breakfast in the villa overlooking the water!! So dreamy! I do it on my last day always.

We used the beach club for a day spent on the beach. What we wanted was just to rent the sun beds and an umbrella for the day. That turned out to be impossible. Your only option is to pay 1300M$, of which a “credit” of 1000M$ is left for you to spent on food and drinks. That is a bit tricky, as you get the feeling that the prices in the end are a bit higher than what you see on the menu, so even though (after our draft calculations) we thought we were in the limit of a 1000M$ spent, the bill at the end of the day turned out to be a bit higher. Plus you are of course expected to leave a tip. The place itself is nice, clean and comfortable. You’ve got comfy sun beds, the beech is cleaned every day, the waiter has just several tables/sun beds to serve and was a nice chap, so you don’t get to wait for hours for your beer or margarita. The drinks are not bad, though don’t expect too much alcohol, that’s just how it is in these places. Guacamole was really delicious. Overall we have mixed feelings. A bit too pricey for what you get.

Fabulous beach club! I got a lounge chair by the pool, which is beautiful and clean. DJ played great music! Service was attentive, I enjoyed the food - especially the ceviche! I liked the french fries as well. The beach is fantastic, and there was no seaweed when I went! There are also vendors to rent a jet ski, which I did and had a lot of fun! Great experience, recommend to spend the day here. Can’t wait to come back!

Atmosphere, location, and look of place are great. It's on one of the best bits of beaches in the centre with really nice white sand and clear blue water, when there is not heaps of sargassum. The service is not that attentive and certainly not overly friendly. We had to flag down a waiter several times, as it's had gone missing. It was a long wait for what was really quite basic food - fish tacos and the food quality is quite poor, especially for the price. I couldn't be better from frozen fish fingers - how do they even get them so dry. And it came with so little, that I had to ask for extra sauce and Pico de gallo to just pad it out and fill a corner.

The umbrellas and sun chairs are for those with the wristbands only but the beach is open to others without one. The police kicked out a lady with her dog so no dogs there. Very clean beach and attentive staff. Beach was full of seaweed in the morning but they cleaned it up before noon. The food was good and roughly priced the same as any of the restaurants near by. We had yuca fries, nachos, French fries and calamari. The calamari wasn't very good. Overall experience was great.

If you’re looking for a quiet day, this is probably not the place to go. However, if you’re looking to have Fun meet new people have a few great drinks or a lot on the beach, it’s the place to be! Can’t speak to the food but the chairs and service was solid!

A bit expensive, service is really slow need to call the waiter several time to take order. Moreover, the sea is not so clean at this place (lot of alga) but it’s not related to the beach club. Some other club are cheaper with a better service.

I didn't stay at the club but was on the beach there! It's kinda busy but not overwhelming. It's free to go! The beach is clean, the water is warm and clear, you can bring your own food and drinks.

The pina coladas and chips/guacamole we got right near the beach were excellent! Though the pina coladas could have been a bit icier, as they melted fast. Great location and food.

I cannot say enough about your server, Carlos❤️. He is an amazing person who takes the bus to work at your wonderful place. Everything was so yummy! Appreciate making my stay in Playa a memorable one. Tucson, Arizona.🌞

Great beach and location! Well worth the price, but you can also bring a towel and snacks to plop down on the beach in front of the beach chairs, etc. Not my vibe, I like conveniences of the beach club, but keep that in mind.

Quality of food and dishes have been declining over the years, I have been a regular costumer every time I come to playa del carmen and despite increasing prices, dishes are poorly served with really lack of taste, don't expect to much from expensive and poorly cousine

Good beach, clean, crowded in the afternoon but nice atmosphere. Don't order anything from waiters that are just going around, they will charge you like crazy 😁

Little over priced for the beach. The minimums don’t really include much besides the chair with arm bracelet. Best to get a package with available spending. Tried the taquitos. Have to say they definitely surprised me. The service was a little hard to get to. For the area and price should be better blocked off from vendors. Taquitos are definitely a try.

Gorgeous spot in Playa looking across the water towards Cozumel. Great place to enjoy beverages, soak in the sun, and Mexican warmth. Food is very good - waiters busy, but very attentive.

Nice beach club. A little louder than others, more of a party vibe with electronic music.. lots of sea weed still on beach unfortunately some days but they're actively removing it each morning.

We went to Mamita’s on a Monday. We got there when they opened around 9 AM and stayed until around 2 in the afternoon. We opted for the poolside seats, and we were the only ones there the entire time (more people were starting to arrive as we were leaving). The beach area started to fill up, but we had the pool and pool deck to ourselves. The admission fee was, I think, around 2000 or 2500 pesos, much of which could be used toward food and beverages (we used it all, plus some). The music was good and the DJ came about 11 AM or so and played some good music. We had the nachos which were very good. Beer and shots were reasonably priced. Good experience and we will definitely go there again next time we are in PDC!

Is an excellent place and the beach in front is one of the best beaches in the world, literally. I would put 5 stars because of the beach, but the place is kind of pricy and not well maintained.

Beautiful beach but the restaurant is quite overpriced and they demand a tip regardless of the quality of service. Which wasn't very good. You can sit on the beach for free infront of the sun loungers which is definitely the highlight of the experience.

I can't say enough about the staff here! Absolutely amazing! I fainted due to heat exhaustion, the staff took great care of me. I was so thankful I was there when this happened. If ever in the area check it out. I didn't get their names but I will never forget them amd the way they helped me. Scary experience! Butt he staff was awesome!

Nice location & beach. $30 each per entry, includes sunbeds but no towel. Service is extremely slow.

  • 4/5 Oliver D. 1 year ago on Google
Expensive but we wanted to do a beach day with a pool and good music. Most of your entry goes towards a usable drink/food credit. That was about $100 US a person (pesos makes it slightly cheaper) and got us both 4 Pina coladas and a small lunch. You can pay less and get a beach spot, but then you can't use the pool. Make sure you finalize your tab, they work for tips and will tell you how much you need to tip them.
