The Union Rooms is clearly a flagship Pub in the Weatherspoon chain. It’s an excellent venue with ample space inside on 3 levels overlooking the City Centre plus a great outdoor space. The staff were all very helpful and efficient, even when stressed by the high numbers to be served! Food as always was good, but it is the food that held back the 5th Star. It’s most times, cooked to perfection, but as at ALL Weatherspoons, only “just hot enough”. There must be a common problem here. How can you cook perfect poached eggs like this and they arrive “warm”. I don’t get it. Come on Tim, sort it out and then it’ll be 5*

Blaring music so loud you can hear it through the blocks of flats ON WEEKDAYS, people got work and these absolute morons are blasting music till 2 am with 0 consideration for the surrounding houses. The food is abysmal and all microwaved, or at least they taste like it. And generally have no rules in place so with the music so stupidly loud all the drunk helmets have to literally scream to talk to eachother which they will because they are hammered. Shoddy establishment ran by seemingly a bunch of children or imbeciles.

This was a fantastic pub to go for a drink at, with a fancy design for Plymouth's seaside location! The palm trees outside and docking decorations inside contribute to this, the counter is well-presented and staff were properly organized. I enjoyed a pint of Guinness, sitting outside at a comfy and smooth table!

I enjoyed my evening at The Union Rooms. You know what you are getting with Spoons, but in addition to this it was a great atmosphere with friendly staff. It's a nice spacious building, and with Spoons' great prices, and good selection of drinks you can't go wrong.

We ate here twice. Firstly for dinner. The food was lovely and as a spoons, it was cheap. The staff were so lovely no faults. The second time we ate breakfast, and again the staff was lovely, kind. Food was good and cheap. Place was so clean even the toilets, which in spoons are usually not.

Quick service by Matei and he confirmed my order prior to pouring which eliminated any confusion for the drinks order. Very good service.

Cheap Drinks & Good Atmosphere Only Issue For Us Was When We Arrived There Wasn't Many Empty Tables & We Asked For The Table We Found To Sit At To Be Cleaned And The Women Told Us To Ask Another Member Of Staff As She Was Too Busy But Apart From That It Was Nice

I wouldn't have the Christmas turkey roast again, no roast potatoes, only mash and the veg was hard. Not enough gravy. The sticky toffee pudding was luke warm, if that. Taste wise it was good though. Staff very nice and facilities excellent.

Had an absolute blast here over a weekend. We did the shopping bit, went to the Theatre Royal but always ended up back at Spoons. Cheap drinks & the food prices are ok for what you get but the food was really good at this branch. Definitely recommend 👌

Up in Plymouth for just one night, went into Spoons for a couple of pints and food before going in to Pavilions. Long wait for food but to be expected on a bank holiday weekend. Went back there after Pavilions and stayed until close, really enjoyed the atmosphere, even gave the female door supervisor a hug on the way out 🤣

Our 'goto' in Plymouth for food, as a family always wanting different from each other. We turned up with 18 of us last Sunday and they accommodated us upstairs for my daughter's birthday lunch. Thanks guys 🙂

Served really quickly (used the app) and the food was fine. Dodgy chair that added fun to lunchtime. Nice to sit, eat, read without a noisy TV in the background

Nice facility but the hamburger I ordered was the worst burger I have ever had. Over cooked, dry and no condiments to provide some flavor to the meat. Chips (fries) were good.

Been here several times over the past 18 months. Very popular and rightfully so. The food is good, the drinks are good, the atmosphere is nice (I have only been in during the daytime). Definitely one of the better Wetherspoons pubs I've been in and will continue to do so. I remember when it was a car showroom, and it still retains a little bit of that character but in a good way of course. And the staff have always been pleasant and helpful. Can't really add to that.

Nice building, very big and well kept. Staff were polite. Food was below par. Cold chicken, very dry meats. Sadly wouldn't recommend for food. Shame, it looked good but was like chewing wood. Edit: Came in for breakfast, had no eggs in toast, had no pancakes, gave change of a £20 note in coins and manager wouldn't get a note from another till! Toilet locks don't exist. Very poor.

Visited today, 18/05/22, for a much needed albeit one off lunch date. Ordered the Ultimate burger for myself and the southern fried chicken strips for the other half. Food arrived promptly and hot but unfortunately the sides with the chicken was missing. Clearly stated on the menu that the strips comes with chips and slaw. Highlighted this to 2 different members of staff but still nothing. Bad service at best. Very disappointing especially as I said before thus was a one off opportunity for us to spend some quality time together. Yeah chips and slaw might not be massive in the grand scale of things but it's not the point, more disappointed at the bad service after bringing the missing items to the attention of staff and being told it will be sorted. 30 minutes later still nothing and had to leave due to school run 👍

The place is nice and staff are lovely. However, there was a mix up with our order, resulting in an hour wait for breakfast. Also part of order missing on arrival. Offered a refund by staff, then management being reluctant to give said refund.

I think I may have visited on the wrong night as it was busy and appeared very short staffed. There were a few tables free but covered with used plates, cups, glasses and uneaten food...not a nice sight. We cleared a table, I cleaned it with hand sanitiser which left my white tissues very dirty (maybe a note to the manager... get your tables thoroughly cleansed before you open) The dirt on my tissue wasn't just for that day) The tables full of empty plates etc were not cleared in the hour and half we were there which is bad business sense but unavoidable if short staffed. Anyway, food and drink ordered, not that long of a wait, great price and only let down with my dish not being what I had asked for! Have to say once returned it was sorted quickly and in time so I could eat with everyone else on my table. We all agreed that our food was hot and tasty.

Good value for money, clean and tidy, and the only Wetherspoon Pub than managed to get the entire food and drink order correct, even down to 'no ice but straw and glass' from the on-line menu, so well done and thank-you to the attentive staff.

A well sized Wetherspoons with ample room in the outside seating area, impressive array of plants. Ten out of ten for the toilets on the ground floor!

Went in for food and a couple of beers. Good selection on offer. Went in on a Monday and there was a pub quiz. After that an area was cleared for a dance floor with DJ playing a good selection of music. A good night in a nice setting.

Price was fair for the food which arrived quite quickly after ordering, unfortunately the drinks didn't. I enjoy a drink with my food and after eating half my dinner before it went cold and asking 2 separate members of staff the drinks finally arrived nearly 15 min after the food. Other wise would have been 4 stars

On a recent two days in Plymouth we breakfasted and dined there and were impressed with the service, the prices for food and drink and the service which was always pleasant and efficient. The curries on the curry night were great and our breakfasts of fresh fruit and scrambled eggs were also. The prices are so reasonable it was hard to go elsewhere

We met up with old friends that are over from Australia. We had a lovely meal with drinks included. Very pleasant and it was quite busy. Very pleasant staff and service.

Door staff are really nice. Brilliant on a saturday night as it’s very crowded and you’ll see lots of people dancing. Drinks can get slow so better to go to the bar when it’s busy. Atmosphere is pretty great but I prefer smaller pubs

👍👍 Had the bottomless brunch, our server Tim was very enthusiastic and helpful. Very nice cocktails and food. Was ideal for us as we went at a quiet time so managed to get a few cocktails in during our time. Would definitely go back for another one of these
