Great place with Good Food at cheaper Price. Serves Buffet indian dish on Saturday and Sunday. Courteous and helpful staff. We had a wonderful evening.

Amongst all the Indian places.. I would recommend the buffet to the heavy eaters but beware of the naan. One of the non appealing naan I had; it would either be crackly or elastic given that it’s not freshly prepared. The management was kind enough to make a fresh batch for us but still far from the competition. The staffs were very active and the service was great but the quality of food was what we could expect from a buffet.. quantity over quality. Saffron grill at Grand bay ranks 4th on my list of indian restaurants in Mauritius, ahead of saffron Grill at Phoenix. Nevertheless, I would revisit hoping for improvements. Overall we had a nice family dinner in my humble opinion..

Very friendly staff, their kitchen opens till 9 15 pm on weekdays. Very nice veg food, accompany with rice and aloo paratha. Value for money.

I went for the buffet on Saturday. The place can get quite messy with the crowd and you might even have a long queue when getting your food. As for the food, it is good but I was really disappointed that for the non-vegetarian dishes there were 2 chicken dishes and one fish dish. There was no meat dish compared to before. The green fish curry was not good and one of the chicken dish was butter chicken which is unfortunate since the veg dish was butter paneer which felt repetitive. Overall compared to last year, quality has declined and the price has gone up. I won’t be coming back.

Nice place but too loud ambience. Food also was okay. The cashew nut curry dishes could’ve been better. The cheese naans were very oily though.

We went for the Christmas Eve buffet. Options were not as varied. The vegetarian options were quite good. Ice cream was nice. The non-veg options were limited and okayish.

It was better before. The glass of Mango Lassi was 3/4 full for its price. The pakoras in the entrée were a bit too oily.. Rs400 for a prawn curry and there were only 4 small prawns it in. For the price, the quantity and quality is not excellent.

Absolutely impressed by the customer service received. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They helped me to set a birthday surprise for my mother. The atmosphere is so relaxing with soothing background instrumental music. Just perfect ambience. Perfect place to go with family. Definitely recommend this place.

Hanging out in grand baie during the weekend and craving indian food? I'd definitely recommend the 'buffet ouvert' specially for non-veg people and heavy eaters. Much could be improved in variations of veg curries. Overall value for quantity !

I went for the buffet today. Some of the reviews are correct about the place and setting being messy and crowded but that's to be expected during a buffet. I wouldn't recommend the place for 2 main reasons; 1. I'm a vegetarian. Non veg dishes kept being mixed with veg ones by customers. There were only 3 veg options; palak paneer, roasted potatoes and a dal. The food was ok but not great. 2. There was a caterpillar in the salad. The only thing the patrons did was to exchange my plate. I would strongly not recommend this restaurant.

The food was quite okay, the taste was alright, I ordered a lamb thali, although it came quite fast, the naan was sort of elastic and cold. We were 7 people but only 1 basket of appalam was provided, we had to ask for one more. The drinks were good though. It was very hot inside even with the AC on and the restaurant was near empty.

We ate here 3 times in 8 days and the food and service was always excellent. Probably some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had and I’ve had it from Brick Lane London to all over India. Very good value as well.

Very highly rated Indian restaurant and had to try it as a tourist and it certainly attracted a big crowd of locals. Many thanks to the manager for assisting us with a table after they were really busy. The service was a bit poor, yes the restaurant gets extremely busy on weekends but I felt there was very little attention to detail and not one of the staff could advise whether you could offer other things besides the buffet items (lots of locals but very little info provided to tourists on what you can/can’t order). The food was pretty decent but lacked something. Being a buffet, it wasn’t very hygienic as people who ate with their hands used the same hands to use the tongs😞 The food was tasty for some things and hit and miss for the rest. Felt they could offer more items for you to order at your table for the price paid. The desserts on offer were just ice cream and a local pineapple dish🧁 Also you could only choose between either a small water or a cook drink can. We we’re actually disappointed as tourists and would actually give it a skip ⏭️

Purpose of visit - dinner Was at the restaurant on a Saturday evening. Restaurant is neat, looks great. Was not crowded when I arrived, but gradually it filled up, leading to a bazar type of atmosphere. Queues tend to be long, with some waiting time for buffet. Staffs are nice, and cooperative. If you are looking for a quiet place to enjoy your meals, avoid when there is buffet. If you want to spend time with family(and kids), this venue would be perfect :) This was my second time visiting for dinner.

Muslimisch - indisches Buffet mit Hähnchen, Lamm,- und Fisch am Samstag und Sonntag ab 18.00 Uhr kann ich mit gutem Gewissen weiter empfehlen. Es gibt auch immer ein Vorspeise- Buffet , sowohl ein Rohkost und Dessert- Buffet. Einfach lecker und nach dem Motto „das Auge isst mit“ vorbereitet. Alkoholische Getränke gibt’s nicht, dafür ist im Preis ein Softdrink enthalten. Man wird herzlich empfangen und falls man sich unsicher wegen den Speisen ist, liebevoll, geduldig und mit einem Lächeln beraten. Sitzplätze gibt’s drinnen und draußen, ein großer Parkplatz vor dem Restaurant ist auch dabei. Die 5 Sterne haben sie meiner Ansicht nach , rechtlich verdient 👍

Food was overall good... The rice was excellent....Daal tarka had no tarka... dishes lacked the Kasuri methi signature taste....and lacked the sense of refinement... Service at the welcome desk was good... but later, it was complete ignorance.... had to wait long before I could order additional naan.... had to wave 👋 several times and yet got ignored... I think one staff was having a bad day and she was just blunt... The atmosphere was good... the only hic was I was directed to walk my way and use the public toilet at 9 30 pm... This certainly cut my appetite

We came here on the recommendation of friends whilst on the island and all got the buffet. Nice selection of starters and main courses, and only a couple of desserts. Fair price and nice food for what you get. Obviously buffet is never going to be the top stuff but we were all very happy with it and would recommend this place to anyone in the area.

It is really nice Indian restaurant. Food was really tasty ! Best part is they have live kitchen view Masala chai ☕️ was the best thing of the meal. Do try !

Great food at the place. A must to try out. I even celebrated my wedding anniversary there with a custom cake I took from home. The staffs are welcoming. Only thing I didn't appreciate is that my wife spilled some water on the table and no one came to wipe it out.

Amazing food and staffs are super accommodating and polite. Mr. Bhat is a gentleman and always takes care of his customers. Excellent manners and always smiling. Highly recommended for food quality and hospitality. 5 stars. Kudos.

The food was so delicious. We ordered Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala as main dishes. Both came with great taste. Seekh Kabab as appetizer was also so delicious. The service team was fast and very professional and friendly. Service by Ashnaa was great. Atmosphere was cozy. Best Indian restaurant I tried in Mauritius.
