Very big collection of Monet and Pissarro. The focus is on impressionism and pointillism. Well organized museum. I found the ticket pricy, but happy I went in The building itself got almost entirely rebuild after the 1945 bombings. Quite impressive, given apart from the façade most got destroyed to the ground.

(Translated by Google) Sat in the back pavilion today. Very light, modern location. 11 guests and four service employees. Still no coordination to be seen. Soft drink open in a juice glass. The quiche offered with onions, cheese and ham was delicious without finesse. A salad made from a handful of leaves with a nice dressing increases the price of the quiche from € 6.00 to € 10.00. Totally inappropriate. (Original) Habe heute im hinteren Pavillon gesessen. Sehr lichte, moderne Location.

I personally did not particularly enjoy the modern/abstract exposition on the lower floors but that's subjective of course. The main Impressionist exhibit was AMAZING. So many Monets and a lot of other artists. I went around the whole floor twice and did not want to leave. The lighting and positions of the paintings are very good.

If you're interested in Impressionist painting, this museum will be heaven on earth for you. With famous pieces from great artists such as Monet, Renoir, Pissaro, Caillebotte and many more, the museum's collection is breathtaking. It's possible to download the museum's app and listen to the audio guide in it.

Mein Lieblingsmuseum.

Great museum to visit, really loved Munch “Trembling Earth” exhibition. One thing to mention - apart from very cold temperate in the rooms (take a sweater as you won’t be allowed to wear your jacket) - is that they don’t allow ANY bags for the exhibition, okay I understand backpacks but small bags to put necessities in is just absurd. One visitor was even asked to bring her mobile phone bag to the locker, which was apparently hanging on her neck. This is just so irrelevant, then check if she has anything inside and let them in. Some rules are just not meant to be.

The Museum Barberini is an art museum in Potsdam opened in 2017. Its exhibitions range from the so-called Old Masters to contemporary art, with an emphasis on impressionist painting. Centered around works from the collection of its founder and patron Hasso Plattner, the Barberini presents three temporary exhibitions per year, featuring loans from international museums and private collections. Academic conferences serve to prepare these exhibitions. At the same time, shorter gallery displays – the so-called “art histories” – put works from the collection into constantly shifting contexts. The museum aims to offer a diverse programme of events and educational activities as well as digital offers like the Barberini App and the 4K Smart Wall in the museum.

The special exhibit was definitely not for me but I thought the movie they had on it was helpful ( in English) to trying to figure out what everybody likes about Modern painting I really enjoyed the impressionistic part of it I thought that was excellent I thought that the cost to get in was over the top I’ve been to many museums throughout the world and €16 for one person was unbelievable people were very helpful and they had a lot of things in English no audio unless you download it to your phone which takes all the battery out they had a free day the day before we went we should’ve went on the free day ! so if you’re in town find out when the free day is it save yourself some euro they have a café and a beautiful garden to sit in Nice gift shop but that two was overpriced

(Translated by Google) A Thai salad is offered, which lacks all the herbs and spices from Thailand. Basically glass noodles with iceberg lettuce and a few pieces of vegetables. On our subtle objection that spices and herbs were hardly present, the answer came: the children should also like it. (Translated by Google) I tend to avoid cafés by museums and opera houses because they usually come across as affected, uncomfortable or touristy. The quiet location by the water, with a view of the large trees of Friendship Island, lured us to this pavilion. The coffee and cream cheese cake were impeccable, and because the waitress was in such a good mood, we stayed longer for a good drink. A pleasant place after visiting the museum.

This is a great museum located in a renovated part of Potsdam, 10 min walking from central train station. Due to the recent vandalism from the climate activists who spilled food on one of the paintings, now all the guests are required to leave their coats, backpacks and even the smallest bags in the cloak room or lockers. Nothing extra is allowed inside. Normal entrance costs 18 euros, but if you are under 35, you can get an annual ticket for just 20 euros and visit as many times within a year as you wish. Cafe located inside is also very nice! Personnel was friendly, food came very fast and it was tasty. They also had a great selection of cakes (but also dishes like soup, quiche and salads available)

We went during the surrealism and magic temporary exhibition, which was REALLY well curated. The permanent collection is also really nice and has notable artists like Monet. I wish they offered an English tour, though the audio guide app is a great addition.

Beautiful museum building, brand new. They took only 3 years to build it. I attended Monet'a exhibition and I was impressed by the quantity and diversity of paintings. Their online sales system had some issues, a bit ironic given that the owner is founder of SAP. There is a cafe in the courtyard on ground floor, which is open until 9pm (summer time).

Nice museum in a great location. We went to the Barberini Museum in Potsdam to see the Sonne, Holland and Munch exhibits and were not disappointed. Great variety or works with something for everyone. When you are done go out the back entrance and have a coffee at the cafe and then a stroll through the park back to the train station. Perfect Tagesausflug from Berlin

Excellent museum with a lovely square on one side and pond on the others. A great study of impressionism and the movements it brought about — along with the history of the artists themselves. Easy to have lunch, coffee, and or an ice cream and enjoy excellent views both inside and out. Tickets to the museum are a bit expensive.

Where are all these five star reviews coming from? I’m truly baffled. Against expectations, this was the most disappointing museum experience we’ve ever had - and we’ve been to almost every major museum in Europe. Chaotic entry. Pestering, staring, officious staff that bothered us repeatedly about everything: masks, water bottles, a coat that wasn’t tied around my mother’s waist. The exhibit was a disappointment too: a few rooms of Impressionist landscapes and that’s it. Everything else looked closed. The building itself, attractive from the outside, has all the charm of a hospital on the inside. Just please, don’t waste your money or time.

The Museum Barberini in Potsdam provides a rich tapestry of artistic exploration, seamlessly weaving together both temporary and permanent exhibitions. The temporary showcase of Edvard Munch's works offers a unique glimpse into the artist's repertoire, unveiling many lesser-known pieces that add depth to his renowned portfolio. Moreover, the permanent collection, owned by Hasso Plattner, presents a treasure trove for impressionism enthusiasts, particularly those enamored with the works of Monet. Plattner's collection not only celebrates the mastery of Monet but also offers a captivating journey through the broader landscape of impressionist art. With its diverse offerings and rich insights into both established and emerging artistic talents, the Museum Barberini stands as a beacon for cultural exploration in Potsdam, beckoning visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty and creativity of the human spirit.

Nice museum. I've been there a couple of times. Sometimes i had a great experience and sometimes it felt like the exhibition was a bit disappointing compared to the title it was given. I do really like the museum building itself. It's very nice to walk around in and they do guide you very nicely through the displays with text in German and English.

Due to brain damage I'm in a wheelchair, so I booked a reduced ticket. I'm from the Netherlands, so I don't have the specific card of proof, but this was okay with the ticket desk. However, a security employee still didn't let me in on a reduced ticket. Really disappointing this museum discriminates disabled people from another country. Collection is great though.

Nice museum but the audio guide is just too boring (very dry). I was on the sun exhibition and it was mainly about paintings. The subject is very interesting but it could have more than paintings with a bit more history, maybe sculptures, etc. Nice but definitely not a “Dutch experience”. Workshops for kids had to be booked over a month in advance.

A visit to the Barberini Museum is absolutely worth it. The building is light, airy, architecturally very spacious and pleasant. There are lockers on the lower floor and a well-organized cloakroom on the ground floor. Wheelchair users can borrow a wheelchair, preferably with prior notice. The staff are all very friendly. Impressionist works on loan from New York, Paris and Venice can be seen here from the Hasso Plattner Collection. Although the Museum Barberini was very well attended on the first day of the exhibition "Photography and Impressionism. A New Art", I had the impression that I could study my personal highlights in a quiet place. The exhibition will run until 08 May 2022, with about 150 photographs by Pictorialists on exhibition. A must for all creative people. Here are some impressions from my perspective.

Beautiful experience. The museum is very clean, staff is friendly and helpful. Everything is translated from English to German. The museum itself is a bit maze-like as there is always another room after another. Overall it was a nice experience. Sometimes I would've loved to have a brighter exposure in some rooms. We went to the impressionism exhibition, which was quite interesting. Countless artworks. Worth the time.

If you're in Potsdam for a visit and you're a fan of impressionist art, this is a must. Unless the entrance was so expensive, I'd say it's a must in any case, as the architecture or reconstructing this palace is great and the curatorial work is impressive, but the cost is a factor to consider, especially if you're 3-4 people... The collection itself has several highlights and is mainly impressive by size and worth.
