Great Czech food. Great pork knuckle. The place was really busy, but our waiters were smiley and really helpful. We got a pretty cool table as well, which was much quieter than the rest of the place, which improved the experience a lot.

This restaurant is a gem in the heart of Prague. It has been serving delicious food and drinks since 1665, and it shows in the quality and taste. The menu offers traditional Czech cuisine, as well as international dishes, all made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. The staff is courteous and professional, and the ambiance is warm and inviting. The restaurant also has a historical charm, with wooden beams, antique furniture and paintings on the walls. It is like stepping back in time, but with modern comforts. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience the best of Prague's culinary heritage.

While busy, U Glaubicu pairs delicious traditional Czech fare with friendly service. While the wait was long (~30 minutes) during the dinner rush, we were not disappointed with the experience. Service was friendly and allowed us to use credit card for payment. We tried the beef and pork goulash with dumplings - each were around $15. The beef was very salty but the pork was pretty tender and great when paired with the stewed radishes. The dumpling are just either bread or potatoes without filing. Great way to try traditional Czech food.

Our favourite meal in Prague! We had to wait a little for a table and our meal but the staff were excellent at keeping us hydrated with drinks during this time and the wait was so worth it! The ribs were some of the nicest I’ve ever tried and the mash potato was great! Very reasonably priced for the high quality food on offer!

Very nice place in Praga to taste what they self-describe as Czech cuisine. I am not an expert in local food but it tasted awesome. Good quality for a reasonable price. We tried roasted duck, ribs, a salad and a local dish of a bread with beef inside. All was delicious, we waited a reasonable time to be served and the waiter was very friendly. My kids enjoyed it as well.

Add this restaurant to your must-dos in Prague and you will definitely nor regret but probably LOVE IT. In case you don't have a reservation, just get in line. It's worth the wait. The roasted duck meal was an experience itself - the best we've ever had! The beef goulash was also very tasty but on a different level. In comparison to what the duck meal offered it could have had more meat. What gets you full is the dumplings and sauce. Service and staff were great :)

The food here was delicious and the service was very friendly. They have outdoor seating, but they also have some cool spaces indoors and downstairs where the beer is brewed. Very clean and modern while feeling old world at the same time. The potato sausage soup was delicious with the rye bread. The chicken schnitzel was great and the salad fresh. The pretzel and the fries were tasty. Nice beer selection including some O% choices. Great place!

We were searching for a place to have dinner at and wanted some typical Czech cuisine. Although the place seemed packed, we decided to ask anyway - and surprisingly they said that they do have a table available. It was quite the trip downstairs (yes, there's a couple levels, lol), but finally we were seated in the cellar area. It's amazing how operative and nice the staff were considering how busy the place was. The food was absolutely great and we enjoyed the experience.

This place was fantastic. If you are a tourist this is a must hit. We order 2 ciders, an appetizer and 2 entrees and paid $28 with tip! Very affordable and our waitress was very attentive to us. I would recommend reservations if going for dinner. Reservations are easy to make and they actually hold to them. I had the goulash and it was delicious.

One of my favourite places in Prague. We always start or finish our stay right here. Half and half beer and the potato soup is a must. The whole menu consists of all the good stuff Czech cuisine can offer. You can combine your visit with a beautiful walk from the Old Town Square, across the Charles Bridge. The Little Quarter is a gorgeous location and when combined with a great beer and food, life is simply good.

Be sure to make a reservation if you want to eat here, the place gets crazy busy (for good reason). Had the goulash and the potato dumplings, both were so good! Portion looks small on pictures but I definitely struggled finishing my dish, so beware of big portions! Raspberry lemonade was also really good. Would recommend if you're looking for a place that serves traditional czech dishes.

Delicious food and amazing atmosphere I had the pork knee and it is an absolute pile of food, it came with bread, mustard, horse radish and cabbage salad. It was delicious the skin was so crispy and flavoursome and delicious it was a good price. Definitely worth it a d the beer was very reasonably priced too. Also got a side salad which was nice but a bit dressing heavy

The best restaurant in Prague! The food was absolute heaven. They have a special beer each month. Servers were friendly and polite, and they worked hard to please everyone. And the atmosphere is the cherry on top. You can feel the history and tradition there. I recommend booking a table to avoid disappointment.

The food is really really good, amazing! Top. Almost every was nice, the only con was when we entered one of the waiters was really rude. He was trying to tell us that they are full and we need to leave. Well, we were lucky because 1 table just got free. Our remark is that they can try to keep a track on the tables just to know and inform the next guests some estimate time until a table will be available. Our waiter was fantastic, he was in a hurry the whole time, but served with a great professionalism. We were there around 2 pm..

Very rich menu!!! Czech traditional and not only. Delicious food, fast service, good prices. One of the best places to eat in Prague. Have in mind that it is always full. You need a reservation days before going.

Came to this place on a late Saturday, seeing that it was always busy. We did not have reservations, but the staff made a massive effort to get us seated and taken care of. Our server was Roman, and he was very fun and personable during our stay, giving good recommendations and banter. As for the food, wow. Everyone at the table was blown away by the quality and creative concoctions they had come with. We were grinning ear to ear as we ate, only wishing we could eat here for the rest of our trip. Highly recommend, will come back here again without a doubt

I visited this restaurant alone and had a schnitzel with potato salad, and both were perfectly made. The schnitzel nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the potato salad fresh and tasty. A perfect combination. The waiter was super friendly and the place showed a nice vibe and the prices were also resonable. For this visit, the place earns 5 stars.

Very reasonably priced, great Czech cuisine. Vegetarian option (camembert) very tasty. The waiter was really nice, we got our food pretty fast as for the restaurant being full at the time.

I was in Prague for one afternoon and in the area and really fancied some tasty traditional Czech food. This place is down to earth and delivered exactly that - the service was welcoming and my Goulash with dumplings main dish was tasty. The dessert was okay, nothing more. Still, very happy to return for another Goulash next time I am back in Prague.

If you are a rib lover, this is the place you must try in Prague. Super good deal on rib offers, one girl won’t be able to finish the whole dish - more people share different dishes together is more ideal. The restaurant is huge with different kind of seating style. Dessert doesn’t impress me tho.

We enjoyed it so much we went back a day later. Good authentic Czech cuisine. Yummy beer and friendly service. The waitress staff english is not very good but much better than my Czech. We were able to get what we wanted without any issues. Prices are fair for a tourist area. Just go, you'll enjoy it.

Really enjoyed it! Central location, close to Charles Bridge, but with all the atmosphere, food and price a local place could offer. Would come back of course, and recommend it very much if you are around and hungry! :)

  • 5/5 Ieva S. 4 months ago on Google
Great place for Czech food but a bit messy atmosphere as it was quite busy at late lunch time. We were seated at a shared table. The cabbage soup with sausage was good, very cabbagey and not a lot of sausage but good - a lot of bread to eat though so might just prefer taking the regular soup. The pork was really good, crunchy outside and juicy inside, dumplings were good, quite dense, and the cabbage was also good. The portion for the meat was extremely huge though and you need two stomachs or be starved for around two days to eat it all with ease. The beer was good. We couldn’t eat anything else for the rest of the day so be careful, but it was yummy

5 stars isn't enough for this place. This is 100 out of 5. Whenever I come back to Prague, this is where I am going. My plate/board was full. I had the most delicious pork ribs - 6 stacks!! So tender, so full of flavour, the highest quality! I couldn't finish them AND I ALWAYS FINISH MY FOOD. The place has the highest quality service, highest quality food and drinks, and I can't say it any other way except, it is too cheap. We fed a big family of 7 for under 200€ and we didn't eat for 2 days afterwards. This is one of the best restaurants in the entire world, and I will make sure to recommend this to everyone visiting Prague. Thank you so so much, keep up your amazing efforts - it does not go unnoticed. Absolutely phenomenal

They have really great beer here. Food is good here. Typical Czech cuisine. Service might be slow during the evening… prices are fair, compared to the location prices are “super fair”.

Great experience, good very traditional czech food, for affordable prices. Quite crowded, but it seems by many locals, nice vibe. The downstairs is a bit more quiet.

  • 5/5 Albert T. 6 months ago on Google
It is a unique place that has been around since the year 1389. This place has a long history but has been renovated to allow for more people to enjoy the traditional Czech cuisine and also the beer. Booking is a must since this restaurant is very popular among the locals and tourists too. The floor is not flat hence might be challenging to navigate but the staff has been very helpful in assisting. Electronic card payment is accepted here and there is also a suggested tips for 10% or 20%. There are some nice and tasty foods to choose from here. Dining in the lower basement dining hall is a very pleasant experience.

One of my favourite places to take anyone to try Czech food. We ordered Svičkova, Goulash and Stuffed potato dumplings, plus dark draft beer, and all was promptly served, and amazing as always. Nice place, staff and food, will for sure recommend!

I hope you add this restaurant to your list now. Excellent foods and fresh beer, just blocks away from the Charles Bridge, on the Castle side. If you are planning a meal, make a reservation. Or, go off peak hours- it worked for us at 4 PM. The menu has typical foods, snacks and sweets too. They accept credit cards and no service charge; you add your tip while you pay. Our waitress was very nice and spoke English. The hostess near the door, somewhat rude, but sat us right away on a table that was reserved for later. We paid about 15 euros per person for a fabulous meal.

Since we didn't know anything about this place, we didn't have a reservation and hence needed to wait for roughly 30 minutes - and the wait was worth every single second. The food was outstanding - the meat was the definition of tender and the entire meal was divine. If you are into traditional Czech food, you should check out this place. You will not be disappointed here.

The place can get quite crowded, cause locals also like to stay just for drinking beer. Me and my group of friends had a proper all-in experience with food from Czech cuisine and local beer. It turned out to be one of our best meals ever in Prague! The goulash and the "Svickova" are highly recommended. Simply delicious! No need to comment on the beer: Czech beer is a safe guarantee. Service was fast and the staff was kind. There's plenty of seats, especially indoor, and a few seats outdoors, but the street outside can get packed of people. We stayed indoors and didn't regret it. A must try when visiting the "Malostranska" district.

It's the traditional Czech food experience. They took great care of us even though they were super busy on a Monday night. We had the svichkova, pork knuckle, gulash, smazeny syr. All dishes were excellent and a ton of food. So come hungry!

  • 5/5 Julio F. 10 months ago on Google
Very good goulash and, despite being super busy, everyone was very friendly! One of the best experiences in restaurants in Prague so far. Decent quality-price also (especially compared to some rip-offs around the downtown area and Charles Bridge). Recommended

Location is really good and there is a variety of excellent traditional Czech food. Also is the cheapest place to drink beer.

  • 4/5 Akio I. 11 months ago on Google
Delicious food, fun atmosphere. The server was friendly and the service for families with small children is perfect. Couldn't have asked for more. The beef goulash is so good, as was the schnitzel. We also had the mashed potato side which was so good with the bacon and onions. Can't wait to go back and try something else!

Had lunch here while in Prague, amazing good pork belly with pumpkin cream and crispy onion! It was so good I wanted to take a second one but unfortunately they ran out of it! Anyways it was great! Recommended 🫶🏼🥹 Ps: they just brought a second portion of it!!! 😍😍😍

This restaurant is a must!! What a fantastic popular restaurant! Prior to traveling to Prague from the US, I made an online dinner reservation. So glad that I did. The restaurant was very busy. We walked right in and were seated immediately in a room towards the rear of the restaurant. The atmosphere was festive and joyful. All of the patrons were smiling and having a good time. Our waitress spoke English, which helped a lot since I am not very conversant in Czech. Fortunately, the menu is written in Czech and English. The food and the beer were GREAT. There was not one complaint from our party of four. I was looking forward to my dinner of Czech roasted duck. It was excellent. The outside was crispy, and the inside was moist and tender. Can't say enough about this restaurant. The food, service, and atmosphere were top-notch!!

We had a great delicious dinner, pretty great location, we came without a reservation and they helped us and found a table for us, really nice time here great cider. And cheap beer, highly recommended. Most importantly not overpriced

  • 5/5 Milena S. 1 year ago on Google
The place is busy (quite full) during most of it's work hours which guarantees that all served dishes are freshly prepared. In terms of quality the food is good (if you are a professional food critic there may be some negatives to be pointed out) but for a regular person we did not discover any. As usual in the Czech Republic all served beers were great. The service may be a bit slow at the busiest of times but the staff are doing their best to compencate. The price to quality ratio is great compared to other far more expensive restaurants, overall the prices are fine for a two person lunch/dinner. Final point is the exchange ratio (CZK to EUR) should you choose to pay in euro cash, it is far better than most all exchange places in the city. If you happen to visit Prague one of the best places to have lunch or dinner for sure, with an easily accessible location via public transport or on foot close to the city center. We will be back on our next visit for sure.
