Horrible customer service from their barista. I had a very unpleasant experience in this place yesterday. I ordered a latte as usual & was waiting for my order. I was wearing my AirPods but without any music, as I was in my thoughts and forgot to put them back to the case, when I heard barista saying “latte is ready”. I asked again if that’s late on oat milk to avoid any confusion & not take someone else’s order. When I asked, barista told me that if I wasn’t wearing my headphones, I would hear what she just said. I was stunned and asked what’s the problem? Since I got very confused by this attitude. She added also that she heard me ordering latte with my headphones on and that I spoke very quietly. When I asked her - why is she being so rude? And that I wasn’t listening to music, I just didn’t remove my headphones. And I’m always speaking quietly, as I think it’s weird to scream in a cafe 🤷🏼‍♀️ She told me that I’m the one who’s being rude & not considerate of others and that she is sorry.. but “not really sorry” (in her own words). I used to come regularly to this place as it’s close to my apartment & I enjoyed their ambience. I never had a problem before, their other employees are always nice & seem very friendly. However after yesterdays weird, disappointing experience, I think I’ll stop going there. It’s very unfortunate that one employee’s lack of professionalism changed my whole view on this place 😕

This place pays homage to the industrial past of the area. The ambiance is beautifully raw. It is a part of a local chain (EMA) and they clearly know what it takes to create a coffee place, so it’s a safe bet. Additionally, if you’re always on the lookout for a spectacular coffee like me, you won’t find any better option around these parts of town (the closest to look for this kind of quality would be in Karlin two subway stops away). Their batch brew is just wonderful and so is in fact their tea. That’s quite rare, as even the better places in Prague haven’t mastered tea preparation yet. I think they could still work a bit on their food offer, but I’m okay with it and I appreciate that there isn’t too many options. I grabbed my coffee to go, but there are a few seats, so if you’re looking for a place to work on your laptop a bit or just chat with friends, this is your best bet in Palmovka and Liben.

One of the best cafés slash bakeries in the Prague 8 and definitely the best in the Palmovka area. Their coffees are top notch and they make the best fresh bread the money can probably buy you. The cakes are only slightly above average and a bit overpriced, same goes for the breakfast/brunch meals. Still, we were coming back for years and will stay loyal in the future, because Alf & Bet knows their trade.

Great atmosphere. Good coffee but the pastries and bread might be the real reason to come here.

Nice offer of breads, pastry and coffees. Brew batch is always a good choice. And i would go for traditional Czech sweets like... Bun with plums or poppy or Cake with raspberriesand sweet crumble.

Four for quality but one less for very high prices for what you get. 115Kc for a slim toasty with a few thin slices of chorizo is overpriced. One needs two of these to be fed. Pastries are also overrated. I've eaten much better elsewhere for 25% less 💲

Scrumptious bakery! Coming here in the morning for Focaccia. Also fantastic pizza and Cinnabons 🥰

Cannot explain how tasty a sourdough bread from here is. Worth to try 100%. I also bought one buchta with apple pure and one rebarborový koláč. I like that the gough itself wasn't sweet, but the filling was sweet. The best combination!

And industrial-like coffee/bakery place that will leave you in awe. The pastries look out of this world. Took only the traditional "buchta" bun, that was fresh but probably not the best option out there. The coffee was delicious. Overall nothing negative to say, place has industrial vibe with good choice of coffee and pastries, their own bread and even some soup of it. Sounds like perfect breakfast place to stop by.

Fast and competent service, smiling and approachable and a big plus that they all speak English. The food was very yummy and comforting. The coffee was very good too! One of the top places for quality sourdough bread in Prague!

Hands dawn the best coffee in the area, better than Miners. Great bakery although a bit more expensive. Very friendly staff. Sometimes the music could be one notch quieter. I visit often and don't plan to stop 🙂 I very much like the raw industrial unassuming design and the always fresh pastry, sandwiches and foccacias are splendid.

I had a great stay at Alf & Bet! The barista was super friendly and highly skilled. I enjoyed a flat white, as I just came back from Australia. After the judges calibration for the Barista Roku 2019 competition we went for another espresso. The shots were totally mind blowing 👍👍👍.

Niceee bakery, good coffee and amaizing bread. However, music is terrible( hard rock) and veryy loud, you cant relax, it makes you nervouse. Heard that woman near me was also complaining about it. Would be really happy if this could be changed. Thanks!
