When it rains it pours. Yes, it was basically raining the whole afternoon but Mel carried the Prague in 20th century tour easily. I could listen to her all day cause she's a great story teller. I would definitely recommend walking tour in Prague

Lana is absolutely the best tour guide! As locals, we were really delighted with her walking tour of Old Town and found it most informative. She has the perfect mix of teacher and comedian and you can really feel her passion and commitment to not only her country and culture, but also to her profession. Highly recommend!!

We had a great experience taking the Old Town Tour guided by Lana! Lots of interesting facts, great personal touches and a lovely sense of humour. She’s a wonderful storyteller and seems to really put her heart into her job. It was probably the best walking tour we’ve ever had - coming from a former tour guide herself. Would recommend this tour and Lana to everyone!

Excellent tour. It was 2.5 hours long give or take and if you are only doing one thing in Prague it should definitely be this. My friend and I took the 10:30 AM option and by 1 PM we had the rest of the day to ourselves and knew about the best places to eat, the tourist traps to avoid, and we had walked around a fair share of Prague’s most iconic buildings. The tour was so great because of our guide Chris. He was very informative, super knowledgeable, funny, and kind. He was authentic and realistic and didn’t oversell anything. Great guide!

Great tour of the Charles Bridge and Castle yesterday. Lana was a fantastic guide and very knowledgeable. I am a slow walker, but she always waited for me to arrive before continuing with her talk. Thank you very much Lana really enjoyed your tour ☺️

My friend and I booked this tour since we were only in Prague for the weekend and wanted to see as much as possible while simultaneously understanding and appreciating what we were seeing. Our tour guide was Chris and he was AWESOME! Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable, but he was also funny, attentive, and personable. Would definitely book this tour again!

I enjoyed the old town tour with Chris. This tour brings me to many historic landmarks with informative presentation. He gives information about what you may want to avoid which is something I'd like to know. I also joined another tour with Tony for the Castle tour. He is warm and informative. It's my first tour in Prague. Walking from Charles bridge to the castle wasn't close but I didn't feel tired. He did an excellent job for the route. I enjoyed his tour. Definitely recommend to everyone who travels to Prague to join tours with either of them.

We had the old and Jewish town city tour with Amanda and it was awesome. Amanda was very kind and funny. The tour lasted about 2 1/2 hours but the time went by super fast. Amanda did such a great job explaining the most important sights and even providing the historical background to each one of them. All in all it was the best tour I've ever had!

One of the best walking tours we have done and we have been trying to do them in every city we visit. Our guide Amanda was really down to earth and really easy to like She was very knowledgeable but made the tour very fun and interesting which can be hard at times. Definetly recommend this to learn more about the beautiful city that is Prague

We took the morning tour with Eva and because it was such an amazing tour we did the afternoon tour with Chris! Both guides were excellent in their knowlegde and presentation of their city and it was very entertaining. We loved how Eva interacted with the group making sure everyone's needs where taken care of and the charming humor of how Chris would quiz us on what architectural style the buildings. We could recommend both tours and want to send a huge shout-out to Prague Free Walking Tour for the excellence and professionalism they portrayed. We also got a lot of recommendations to do during our stay in the city after the tours. We are so happy we didn't take just some run-of-the-mill Starbucks company! Thanks again to Eva and Chris for the wonderful and insightful time!!!

Fantastic tour of the old town with Tony. He kept us on the go, visiting some interesting sites and giving great advice to help see us through our trip. And Tony was crystal clear and easy to follow. No pressure to tip at all - but he absolutely deserved it.

I participated in the Old Town walking tour with Chris and I had a great experience. The tour is informative, interactive and so much fun. Chris is kind and knowledgeable, he gave us a lot of tips and so many recommendations of restaurants, foods to try and ideas of activities and souvenirs to buy. The group was quite large and he made sure everyone got their questions answered and as much value as possible from the time spent together. Thank you, Chris! Keep up the great work, I‘m looking forward to returning to Prague!

We took the castle walking tour with Brandon today and thoroughly enjoyed it. He was welcoming, informative, and did his absolute best to make sure there were no defenestrations during his walk😀. Big thumbs up from both me and my wife👍 We also took the Old Town free walking tour with Tony, in an incredibly busy evening he kept us entertained and informed with his knowledge of the Old Town, the Jewish area, the history of Prague in general and the Clock. Absolutely faultless, thanks so much!

The tour with Amanda was great! not only did we learn a lot about the city and its history, but she also made it very fun (great sense of humour ;) ). We would definitely recommend this walking tour to our friends - well paced (not too fast/easy to follow) and very informative but not too « heavy ». Five star!

I took all the walking tours. Got Chris for the old town tour, Iva for the castle and the bridge and ILeana for the new town. All the guides were super informative and interesting, gave us a bunch of tips and facts and were really friendly and funny which added a lot to the tour. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot about the city so I would recommend it for sure

Michel was a very knowledgeable and great speaking tour guide. We learnt a lot on our tour and even telling other tourists about the history in out other Prague adventures. For a free tour this is great, you choose what you pay, but after you finish you will have gained so many facts and seen the beauty of Prague! We have absolutely loved Prague, and think it’s such a beautiful city, we got to see things we probably wouldn’t have even thought of walking too! Well done michel!

Our guide, Lana, was excellent, giving us an informative, insightful and entertaining experience around the Old Town and Jewish Quarter. In addition to historical information, she gave us a view of Czech culture, tips on how to avoid tourist traps and great recommendations for food and drink. All delivered with warmth and wit. A brilliant introduction to Prague.

Free Walking Tour Prague is an awesome tour company! They are the original free walking tour of Prague and truly deserve the credit for offering amazing, well informed tours. Amanda was a perfect tour guide, so knowledgeable and clearly passionate about Czech history while also making jokes and answering questions. I’ve done dozens of walking tours and this was one of my favorites. Don’t bother with the other companies, stick with this original gem! Amanda even provided a little handout with some basic Czech words to learn, food to try and a QR code with more advice. You could not ask for a better guide!

I did a walking tour of Prague Castle with Iva in December 2021, and she was incredible! So knowledgeable, interactive, really knew how to keep everyone engaged, answered all our questions too, easy to find the guide and she was punctual. She also gave us a break as the tour was 2 and a half hours long. Couldn't have asked for a better guide and the group was really nice too! At the end of the tour you pay what you think is fair for the quality. Only wish I knew that we would not be going inside the buildings in the castle, as this would have been nice and was my goal. But nonetheless very glad I did this tour. If you're coming to Prague on a solo trip and want to get to know what to do and meet nice people, this tour is the way to go for sure. She even gave us a leaflet at the end that she had designed with some "Czechtionary" and names of Czech dishes and a link to a map with recommendations.

We enjoyed both offered tours and our guides Kristof and Michal were passionate, funny and well educated about all the stops we visited. We learned a lot of new things about beautiful Prague and those 2,5h were well spent. Highly recommend to join the tours when visiting Prague. Thank you for your work and all the best!

We had an awesome tour with Michael last week in Prague. He was very knowledgable and even offered a link to all his saved favourite places in Prague. We used his recommendations for the rest of the week to find lunch and dinner places.(that were all awesome... not tourist traps but also not far from the action) I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Prague.

I always recommend walking tours as a great intro to a city and this was a prime example. Kris brought us on an excellent tour of Prague's old town. It was casual and a bit of fun but also informative. He gave really good recommendations for budget travelers, as well as more upmarket places and pointed out the local spots and tourist traps to us. Excellent tour.

I took an Old Town tour and I really enjoyed it. Chris is a very nice and polite tour guide, he gave so much interesting and useful information. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Prague. I personally have lived for many years here but still discovered a lot of new things during this toor. Update: I also took a New Town tour with Brandon, it was vey fun and informative. Brandon is a cool guy and believe me you want to have a tour with him🙂

I took the old town Prague tour and it was an amazing experience. I was hoping to get a tour where I could learn a lot of the history of Prague and this tour was way beyond my expectation. Michal was extremely knowledgeable and the way he talked throughout the tour was captivating and interesting, at no point you’ll feel bored. Particularly the stories he shared during the Jewish quarters were special and allowed me to locate myself within the vast history of this vibrant city. Don’t hesitate to join this tour!

This was a really great walking tour! Chris provided a ton of details on the city from history and architecture, to great recommendations on places to eat and drink. This was a great tour, well-paced, that took in major sites of the city with an excellent and clear narrative. Tony was a very personable and knowledgeable guide — both my partner and I are professional historians, and we were very impressed with Tony’s diverse knowledge and clear explanations, as well as his local recommendations! 2.5 hours flew by — would highly recommend!

Chris is one of the most charming persons I've ever met and this tour is actually a guide of history combined with recommended places to eat, drink and visit (together with the great infos about tourist traps). I really recommend it if you want to be amazed by both Prague and it's history. Thank you, Chris!

This was the best tour we took during our week in Europe. Brandon, our Prague tour guide, was awesome - energetic, knowledgeable, funny, overall interesting. He told us just enough information that absolutely everyone in our diverse group listened intently. At the end of the tour, Brandon also gave each of us a list of his favorite restaurants, bars, etc which was incredibly helpful. We ended up going to the Beer Hall he recommended and it was great. I highly recommend this Free Walking Tour of Prague and specifically, I recommend Brandon!!!! He's the best!

Amanda is so knowledgeable and has a lot of interesting insights. Her own family history tired nicely into the tour and made the history very easy to identify with. She's also funny and entertaining. Great way to spend a couple hours!

The tour around the old town was pretty cool and informative. The tour guide, Amanda, was super energetic and engaging, and her way of telling the history of the city, mixed with personal stories, was a nice approach. There's way too much history in this city to be covered in just one tour, but it's a nice starting point.

I did the Prague old city tour and the bridge and castle tour. My guide for both was Scott from colarado. He was amazing. Friendly, a wealth of history knowledge and more than happy to provide advice, suggestions and best practice tips while visiting Prague. Scott provide a better experience than most paid tours I have done.

Wonderful tour with Tony! Super interesting to discover the history and character of Prague. So beautiful! Really well presented and lots of cultural references! I highly recommend to visitors to Prague for the first time, to have a better understanding of the country and the Czech identity and history. Tony’s tours of the old town and the castle, presented with humour and enthousiasm were the highlight of our holiday!!! Well done Tony!!!

Very useful and pleasant tour indeed. Prague is so beautiful and its history so rich it can be overwhelming (and this is a Parisian talking) so taking a tour helps you get a good overview to start with. Tony was an excellent guide full of insight stories about Prague, its monuments and history. I highly recommend this tour.

Excellent walking tour full of information and fun facts about Prague and good recommendations about where to eat and drink. We did two tours, the Old Town and Jewish Quarter with Ileana; and Charles Bridge and Prague Castle with Tony Both were amazing tour guides and were extremely knowledgeable about the history and architecture of Prague. They were friendly and funny and answered any questions you coud've had. They also gave good recommendations about where to eat and drink from a locals perspective. Highly recommend for any tourists wanting to visit Prague and learn about the story behind this charming city.

We had a really excellent time with Iva, our tour guide, and her green umbrella. She is a great ambassador for the city. Enthusiastic, insightful, good natured, understanding of the group's needs and entertaining. We started at 10.30am on a chilly but sunny spring morning and the tour lasted about 2.5 hours, with a 10 minutes break. Iva explained some interesting history of Prague and then took us around some lovely sights. Such a beautiful city, and this is a great way to see it and feel more engaged with the place. Perhaps what was most impressive about the tour is that Iva kept her energy up the whole time, which made a real difference to the tour. Highly recommended.

Chris was an excellent guide! We did the Old Town and Jewish Quarter tour. He led the tour well with informative, engaging and humorous commentary and that all in English as a 3rd language! The tour highlighted key parts of Prague and the city’s history and, having just come from Vienna and Salzburg, it was interesting to tie the history of the larger areas together. Despite the huge crowds of West Ham fans in the main square he stayed audible and even suggested great restaurants and also tourist traps to avoid. We were able to grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant and save money on souvenirs while learning something along the way. 2.5hrs is a long time but it is well worth it, especially if this is your first time to the city.

Brandon was an AMAZING tour guide!! His knowledge of the city was evident in his tour and answers to all questions asked. He was funny, thorough, and personable. This dude is legit. We have done walking tours in almost every big city we have visited and this one was a highlight! Book it. You will NOT be disappointed! He even gave us personal recommendations for everything you could need in the city!

We did this tour and Chris was our guide. I can't recommend it highly enough. The knowledge of the old town he has is superb, his talking style is clear and loud, and he has a great sense of humour. You get more than a tour, you get a lot of knowledge of places to see and at the end you get a guide to all the best and cheapest places for eating and drinking. It was invaluable to us at the start of our trip. Best of all, you pay the guide what you think it was worth, and it was well worth what we paid Chris.

We did both the “Old town tour“ (with Michal) and the tour “prague castle and charles bridge“ (with Amanda). Both tours had in common that the guides were very outgoing, friendly and knowledgeable about prague and it's intricacies. We enjoyed them a lot and both convinced us of their splendid qualities. TAKE THIS TOUR!!!!!! Bring some cash for three reasons. First!, to tip your guide (trust me they earn it). Second!, you are gonna pass ALL the shops and venders and the tour will not wait for you BUT they will say what the next stop is before moving so you can run in a place quickly if needed then catch up. THIRD!, at the end of the tour they will give you directions anywhere INCLUDING the best of restaurants which will have the BEST classic/traditional dishes. Go during Christmas time. This tour will not disappoint. THANK YOU Jacob for the wonderful tours!

  • 5/5 Vismay A. 3 years ago on Google
There is no reason to not take this tour (except time constraints). I absolutely loved their way of guiding. I was guided by Václav and Chris, both are wonderful licensed tour guides. I did, Charles Bridge and Old Town (with Chris and Václav respectively). I learned a lot. Everything went beyond my expectations. I would definitely say the tour made my trip more memorable. Support them people, they are doing good by sharing so much with you all without even knowing how much you may donate. They idea of donation instead of actively asking for money makes this tour company so different and special.

I took a free walking tour with Amanda (actually I did two). This was great to get an overview of the city before deciding where I wanted to focus my time and which specific locations to experience. It was also great to get insiders' view of the city from those who live it and love it enough to become tour guides. I went back to some sites and was able to share the insider information with other tourists.

  • 5/5 Stephanie L. 2 years ago on Google
My tour with Amanda was one of the biggest highlights of my trip! She was funny, open and really thorough in her tour. She's a native English speaker from Canada who was easy to understand. She is also half Czech and gives the tour with some personal family history that made this tour even more special. At the end she gave some really valuable advice for tourists such as essential Czech, recommendations for good eats/drinks, and scams to look out for. Overall her tour gave me new perspective as I walked through Prague I the following days and I found myself really interested in learning more! I also felt really comfortable as it truly was a "pay what you can" experience. She was the best and, if you can afford to, tip her well. She's worth it!!!

I was today on a tour with Iva. I had already booked another one for tomorrow and I thought if it's not good, I'll just cancel the tomorrow one. She was wonderful. Funny, full of knowledge and genuine interest in people. All the time including us and interacting with all of us, not just talking about historical stuff. So, keep up the great work Iva, I can see you love it. I can't wait tomorrow 😊

Not to be biased but, Amanda was the best! I will always recommend free walking tours for any travels anywhere; however this one was my favourite tours. Prague is a very beautiful place, and also very historical, which is why taking a tour is essential, as you'll learn its history which adds to its beauty. This tour is a great introduction to Prague, and worth the time to take, especially with Amanda as your tour guide. All information of timing (roughly around 2 hours a tour) and whereabouts of tours is on their page. Also after each tour you 'tip' how much you think the tour was worth- currently 200 CZK is 8-ish Euro (That's a great price) Thanks Amanda

I took two tours one to the Charles Bridge and Castle with Amanda and also the Old Town with Lana and both were excellent guides who were open to questions and recommendations. I really recommend these tours if you want to know more about the city and you will see t with different eyes afterwards.

Very insightful enjoyable tour with Tony! He was very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour took us on an adventure through the old town and made us look at and notice lots of things we had previously walk passed. Great start to our trip in Prague. 10/10 would recommend. Thanks Tony 🙏🏼

👍👍 We had a lovely time on this tour. It was a great mix of Czech history (really old and not so old), a visit to hotspots such as the Lennon Wall and Charles Bridge, and some contemporary art for good measure. Lucie was so great as our guide. And we love that there’s a boat tour included (with some re...
