Surprise from nature in a form of nice park with walking trails, picnic areas, woods, and lawns. The woods are mainly around the creek. Further from is, there are open area with grass and picnic tables. Creek is nice, full of ducks and other birds. Bridge is connecting South and North shores. North part has paved bicycle roads.

I love to go on this trail at the end of the day. It’s safe, people is always walking, running, biking, fishing. You can find many animals like deers, so many singing birds that make you feel so distress. The breeze is fresh and nice because of so many green beautiful trees.

One of my favorite places to go. It's along the creek, they have wooden trails and paved trails for miles. The scenery is beautiful and in the morning I almost always see deer.

Lots of parking. Easy trails & lots of animals :-) Bring your boots & camera. We came in early spring where there is still a bit of snow. The trails are very easy, not hilly or rocky so a great place for kids or beginner hikers. There was a lot of trash. I highly encourage those who love the earth to bring a small bag on their hikes & pick up what they can. Enjoy!

EDIT--6/13/2023 Oak Brook park district sent me this note when I made the same closure report at Dean Nature Sanctuary on the West end of the Salt Creek 294 under pass. "...We reached out to the Tollway and asked them to work with the Cook County Forest Preserve to have their website updated. We don't have any control over the project or their website. The tollway said the trail will be closed at least through August and then intermittently after that until project completion by the end of 2026. The project will include the following improvements: β€’ Trail widening and resurfacing β€’ Bridge aesthetics β€’ New railing installation β€’ Rehabilitation of underpasses" ### end of up date #Salt Creek Trail, # Cook County Forest Preserve, #294, #Dean Nature Sanctuary - Oak Brook Park, # Cook County Bike, #Cook county trail, # Bemis Woods, #Forest Preserve District of Cook County, #Forest Preserves of Cook County

Quite woods with a few nice views of the river. Also check out the high ropes course called Go Ape! Register ahead of time.

Fave place to go when I need to get into nature but want to stay close to home. I eat breakfast here every weekend morning while I watch the wildlife and smell the trees.

We (Sheehan Family Picnic) have always done our picnic at Bemis Woods South #7, which is phenomenal with the size of our family. The grounds are excellent for holding kids' games, volleyball, bags, and an egg toss.

One of the best trails I have been on for road bikes. Goes from Oak Brook to Brookfield. Awesome trail and some deers along the way for added benefits. Highly recommended. πŸ‘πŸ’ͺ

It's a beautiful place in woods. One of my favorite as it is just 15 minutes away from my house. We always go there in different part of Bemis woods.

Enjoyed hiking. Vast expansion of land and field. Nice old growth trees. Prairie flowers and floral indigenous to the Midwest. It will delight. And has for a century or more.

Lovely preserves. Recommend paying for an entire grove for big outings, because I've seen near fights over non-paying picnickers and temporary, paid grove owners. Great area to put in your kayak or canoe and enjoy yourself. Sometimes full paying grove owners believe they have a right to loud music and yelling. (Just saying.)
