Thoroughly enjoyed a 4 nights stay, a birthday dinner, and the BEST Sunday brunch. Our favorite hombre at the restaurant was Alex (Alejandro). He even recommended the most fun adventure we experienced while providing top notch restaurant and room service. Everyone at the hotel delivered superior service. You can see from my pictures that the hotel is gorgeous. I promise the food is superior!

Very nice and cool place, unique stay. The restaurant is a great location over seeing the beach and mountains, views are incredible. Food was okay, nothing special, this place was full of old people. I think me and my wife were the only young people there, maybe catered food towards that demographic. But the vibes were great and excellent customer service

This place is spectacular! A beautiful hacienda with a luscious green garden, sandstone walls, fairy lights with stairs leading up to the restaurant, and to the breathtaking view. I felt as though I were on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. I went twice in one week, to take advantage of the Restaurant Week menu, as it is a little on the pricey side (ie a bottle of sparkling or still water costs $138 pesos and a can of coke costs $68). The service from the waiters was wonderful, they speak both Spanish and English and are professional and friendly. All the meals I tried were tasty and well-portioned. They had a band playing folk-music on one evening and a mariachi band on another. Both added to the magical, romantic atmosphere. I would highly recommended trying this place at least once! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because on the first evening I went, I went with a friend. We didn’t make a reservation because even though on their website it said that reservations were encouraged, we were going early (6pm) and when we checked Open Table for availability they had numerous tables available. However when we were greeted by the hostess she asked us for the reservation name. When we told her we didn’t have one, she acted very annoyed and told us they didn’t have any tables. My friend mentioned we’d just checked and the hostess cut her off and said she would prepare a table for us but in the future please make a reservation. She had us wait at the door while she prepared the table and when we went upstairs to our table there were only 2 other groups of people and numerous free tables. The hostess was overall not pleasant or friendly towards us which was a shame. However when I went a few days later with my husband (I made a reservation this time!), she was super friendly, offered us a tour of the hacienda and to take photos of us etc. She was really lovely. I’m not sure if she was having a bad day or something but I feel like there should be more consistency with how she treats customers. I feel that just because we didn’t make a reservation the first time, it didn’t warrant for that kind of service. Overall, regardless of the initial cold service from the hostess, I would definitely recommend Hacienda San Ángel!

From the moment I walked into Hacienda San Angel I knew I had found the most tranquil, beautiful place to stay in Puerto Vallarta. The location is perfect. Itʻs close to downtown, but far enough up the hill to escape noise and enjoy exquisite views of the city. The hotel itself is spectacular. You enter a stunning courtyard and are welcomed by the friendliest hosts. The entire hotel is like a museum. Extraordinary works of art and furniture make each room unique. The beds and linens are of the highest quality and luxury. I canʻt say enough amazing things about the staff. They catered to every one of our requests, and even anticipated our needs. The food and drinks are delicious, and the quality of service carried over to the restaurant where we enjoyed a perfect meal, complete with live music! With three pools we never felt that the hotel was crowded and often had the space to ourselves. I almost felt guilty not spending more time in the city because I never wanted to leave the Hacienda! Thank you Paula and to your amazing staff for making this past week truly unforgettable. I canʻt wait to return one day!

We didn't stay at the hotel, but my group ate at the restaurant.... This is another "must do" in PV if you want fine dining. Hacienda San Angel has an impeccable reputation and well deserved. This is the second time I've dined here. Everything was perfect when my group of 6 ate there on this occasion... even when there were "trouble-spots", they handle them with wonderful professionalism. First off, guys... wear a collared-shirt. Yes you can wear smart-casual clothes (even shorts), but make sure your shirt has a collar... If not, they are great about providing one for you and they even try to match your outfit... Second, this is not a very accessible place if you have mobility issues... this is like most of Mexico and not a fault of the location. One person in our party has real difficulty walking, but like professionals, the Hacienda San Angel restaurant staff gathered and offered a chair for our friend. They then carried him up the stairs in a chair.. Wonderful way of helping us resolve an issue. All the staff should be commended for problem-solving and being so accommodating... The restaurant is on a top patio that overlooks PV. Quite the special place for outdoor dining. The fine table settings, linen, furnishings were quite posh... The service was attentive, but not overbearing. They make great recommendations. Now, onto the food and drink... Perfection! They have an extensive cocktail and wine list. Food is gourmet, but very continental with a Mexican twist. A wide variety of beef, pork, chicken, seafood and vegetarian options. My bone-in steak was one of the best I've ever had. We were there celebrating three birthdays. We ordered desserts, but the restaurant provided a couple extras we didn't order as a way to celebrate. Very unexpected and wonderful... Thursday evenings they have mariachi music. This is NOT to be missed! Wonderful music. Amazing musicians and singers... I can't say enough about this place. This was a definitely highlight of our vacation.

I didn’t stay here in Richard Burton’s casa but was invited to check out! From the outside you would never know what on the inside! Magical experience!

The dinner was on point, service impeccable, and atmosphere was brilliant. Fernando was perfect in execution of the meal. Glad we went....a must try in PV.

Truly a righteous decision for top shelf atmosphere and food quality offerings that melt your taste bud with every bite. The mariachi goupe is the most significant intertainment Combined with the menu options for a evening of family memory.

You really have to experience this place to believe it. The whole property is amazing. The staff could not be more accommodating and friendly. The food is some of the best in the city and I say that having been with a party of 8 so we tried a lot.

Absolutely an AMAZING Experience. My wife and I went there for our 12th Anniversary last night and were absolutely overwhelmed when we walked in through the front door into the foyer/garden. The meal was amazing and Frank was so attentive and genuinely cared about taking care of us. His attention to detail and care for his tables was amazing. Thank you Hacienda San Angel for making our 12th Anniversary Dinner memorable and the experience second to none!!

We had my husband's 40th birthday dinner here. The food was superb, the service was top notch, and the mariachi band was the icing. Highly recommend!

Came to this beautiful restaurant for my birthday on March 30th while on my b-day vacation to Puerto Vallarta. The food was delicious. The view was amazing. And the Mariachi was by far the most talented that I had ever heard!🙌🏾 Took off one star because despite the hostess AND our waiter knowing that it was my birthday, everyone but me who was celebrating a birthday got a birthday serenade. 💔💔💔😢 This made me very sad and very confused. Luckily, we had a great time listening to live music in Zona Romantica after dinner, which made me happy again. To the owner of this establishment... PLEASE make sure no one is ever excluded from a birthday seranade... especially on their actual birthday. I got celebrated the day before, the day after, and the day after that at three other restaurants. One at your restaurant with that amazing Mariachi would have made my entire trip.

What a beautiful place to stay. The service and staff were excellent and kind during our stay. We briefly mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary during our check-in, and later that night at their restaurant we were given a “happy anniversary” dessert! The front staff must have relayed this to the restaurant! It was so thoughtful and a really nice surprise. We had their continental breakfast delivered to our patio each morning and sat in the cool morning breeze. We had dinner delivered and watched the sunset one evening, it was gorgeous! And we had food and drinks delivered in between - all so well done! We really enjoyed the food and thought it was much better than some of the other “premium” restaurants in PV. We stayed in the Celestial suite which was very clean and had some really unique antiques. The whole place is full of history. Turn down service with chocolates each night. Lots of attention to details. Location was perfect, walking distance to the romantic zone, old town, and Malecon. We left feeling very grateful to have found such a great boutique hotel. Thanks to all!

What an incredible place. We stayed at Hacienda San Angel for our honeymoon and it was more relaxing and beautiful than I could have imagined. Everywhere you look offers another remarkable detail of art, architecture, or nature. It is a true paradise. The pools and room views are stunning and the staff is warm, friendly, and helpful. From daily breakfasts to ice cold water in our room and prompt room service, we wanted for nothing. It felt like home for a week. It is really close to Zona Romantica and all the lovely restaurants in town. Perfect for exploring but far enough away to feel like a quiet, secluded oasis on the hill. A jewel of Puerto Vallarta!

This is quite honestly one of the best restaurants I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating in. The atmosphere is charming and unique, the food is excellent, and the Mariachi band was wonderful! Highly recommended!

Not worth the (not inconsiderable) cost. Room is loud with noise from other parts of the property (even on a Monday night). Bed is uncomfortable. The restaurant was underwhelming. Even the "thousands of candles" (a couple hundred, maybe, and only in a few places) were far less impressive than I'd hoped. The decor is neat, but I'd rather see it in a gallery. Will not return. Update: Took a shower in the morning (like you do, when staying in a hotel) and the entire bathroom flooded. My husband couldn't even take one himself for fear of causing more of a mess. Takeaway: this place would make a lovely museum but does not function well as a place for people to spend a comfortable night. (Also would like to note that the staff have all been delightful. No critique of the personnel just the infrastructure.)

The restaurant here is so beautiful and the food is amazing. Definitely recommend as part of a visit to Puerto Vallarta. Great cocktail menu - I had the Richard Burton - really delicious caesar salad, and super tender short ribs.

Very disappointing Don’t ever go for the brunch, a la carte must be better and less expensive Came for a brunch that is 690 pesos I asked for a cortado, he brings a macchiato, So I explained it should be half coffee, half milk and a bit of foam. He brings me an expresso + hot milk After they charged me 90 pesos for the espresso 860 for a brunch that is not included coffee So one star for not even telling me about the coffee charge and requesting tips later And they do nothing about their own mistakes Too bad Only the view is nice The food is nothing spectacular What was supposed to be a nice morning became not so nice

What a fantastic evening!! From the moment we walked in the front door it was a wonderful experience. The ambience, service and food were second to none! I had the lobster which was the most perfectly cooked, tender lobster I have ever had and I have eaten lobster at a lot of restaurants. The view of the sunset was amazing! They had a 4 piece band playing and singing traditional Mexican music which was so special. They were fantastic! Will definitely go back next time we are back in puerto Vallarta.

Our group consisted of 10 people for dinner. The service was top notch. Food was spectacular. Portions were large. I had the short ribs. No need for a knife. The potato’s were awesome. My husband had the Cabreria. It was tender and filled of flavor. The view was beautiful along with the property itself. Oh and the lions paw scallops are a must

I just hosted my wedding here and had my guests stay in the rooms as well. The owners and staff are all lovely and we’re a pleasure to work with. They were extremely attentive and offered to help with anything I needed. The food is also amazing. The venue is absolutely stunning!! My wedding was breathtaking because of them. The few nights we stayed were magical and all of my guests had nothing but positive and amazing things to say about the staff and venue. I will be returning many more times and hopefully for every anniversary!

This is the most charming, historic and beautiful hotel. The service and staff are incredible and so very kind during our stay. We had their continental breakfast delivered to our patio each morning and watched the sunrise. The room has a full wall of beautiful French doors that open onto the patio. Every room is unique, we stayed in Angels View suite which was immaculate in decor and taste. Turn down service with chocolates each night. Room was super clean and quite despite being right above the restaurant. I would stay here 100x more if given the opportunity. Location was perfect, walking distance to the Zona Romantica and Malecon each morning. This place is my favorite hotel/B&B to date!

Beautiful place, impeccable service. Food was delicious however was disappointed that the restaurant did not offer food from their regular menu for restaurant week. Special menus but not of the dishes on the regular menu. So cannot judge if regular menu worth going back to try 🙂

If I had to pick just a single word to describe Hacienda San Angel, I would have to choose “exquisite.” From the moment you step inside the large wooden doors, you leave modernity behind and are transported into a breathtaking atmosphere of old-world charm that envelopes you. Created out of three contiguous villas (one of them previously owned by Richard Burton), this hacienda is a maze of different levels connected by courtyards and terraces overgrown with lovely gardens and trees. In addition to three pools, the public spaces offer fountains, statues, paintings, other works of art, and areas to sit, relax and appreciate the beauty and serenity around you. And that’s not even counting the panoramic view encompassing the hills, city, and Banderas Bay, the tea candles that light your way around the compound at night, or the furnishings and art work in each of the completely unique suites. It is utterly romantic. Though the space is sprawling, the number of guests is small enough to make you feel as if you have the entire hotel to yourself. The staff is so friendly, attentive, and helpful that you immediately come to know each (including their dogs that roam the premises) on a first-name basis. Given all this, along with the impeccable service, its 5-star restaurant, and ideal location within walking distance to the Malecon, I can’t imagine staying anywhere in PV other than Hacienda San Angel. You’ll never want to leave. I didn’t.

Another MAGICAL stay for us at the Hacienda San Angel! This was our 2nd stay and everything was just as breathtaking and perfect as it was our first stay in September of 2019! The beauty and sacredness of the Hacienda is truly breathtaking and offers so much sense of peace and serenity for us during our stays. Walking through the Hacienda to admire all the historical artifacts, reading and relaxing by the pool with the beautiful angelic fountain statue and sitting on our room's balcony to soak in the beauty of the views are just a few our favorite pastimes during our stays. We also thoroughly enjoyed dining in the rooftop restaurant during our stay again to indulge in the signature dishes the Hacienda offers with my favorite being the Al Pastor Shrimp Brochette and Coconut Creme Brulee to finish it off! On our last evening, the hotel owner, Paula, invited us to do a taste testing with her and the chef for potential new items which was such a fun and memorable experience!! The rest of the staff was just as helpful and dedicated to making our stay as relaxing and magical as it possibly could be. They assisted us with all our questions and in town travel needs and even surprised us with chocolate strawberries, red roses and towel swans laid out on our bed for our anniversary! My husband and I feel soo blessed to find such a special place to retreat to and make memories together......the Hacienda San Angel and staff will always hold a very special place in our hearts! Until next time!

This place was highly recommended by our friends who live locally. We came all the way from nyc,for my friends birthday party and had a birthday cake delivered for the special occasion ; made a reservation for 8pm and arrived at 755pm. The hostess immediately told us the kitchen closes at 10pm. 2 people n our party were arriving 30 mins late due traffic. We ordered drinks and took a walk on beautiful grounds to take pictures and watch sunset. We were approached again by the hostess at 845pm who told us the kitchen closes at 10pm. We made our way back to the table n then the waiter said kitchen closes at 930pm??!!! We were the only ones of 20% capacity and the place was empty. So we ordered a bottle of rose’ n couple appetizers. Our friend showed up at 915!pm but at that point we were not going to have dinner because if this rude service. Manager, are you there for the customer or is the customer there for you??? I’ll never return to this place!! Adios!!!

Beautiful boutique hotel. Walking distance to downtown area (romantic zone), but far enough away you won't have to deal with all the noise. House keeping service was impeccable. The housekeeper paid attention to when we left our room for day or breakfast and quickly and quietly cleaned room and refilled water jugs. The hotel used to be a private villa; therefore the layout is unique and not typical hotel. Rooms are located throughout the villa It feels like you are staying at a friends villa rather than a hotel.

I celebrated my birthday at Hacienda San Angel, and I couldn't have enjoyed myself more. This classically beautiful property is quintessential romantic Puerto Vallarta. Everything from the linens to the candle-lit walkways, to the delicious room service breakfast offers guests quality, charm, and serenity. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, which makes all the difference. i can't wait to return!

This place showcases what it means to provide excellent customer service. Attention to detail and personal touch is what you get at this magical location. My girlfriend and I will definitely make this one of our future travel destinations. The staff was very friendly, professional and top notch. We shall return. Thanks for the great experience!!!

What a magical evening. We went for our 50th wedding anniversary. From the moment you walk in the door you are just in awe of the beautiful grounds. We went at sunset for gorgeous views all around. We were even serenaded by mariachis. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the short ribs. My husband loved the seafood pasta. Very attentive waiters.

Such a beautiful, unique property. The owners and all staff really care about the space, the food, the ambience and just general guest satisfaction. I’ll never forget my stay at Hacienda San Angel! Would definitely recommend.

We dined here on my wife's birthday. It was a wonderful experience and we will return. It is a gorgeous setting and we had a reservation timed so that we would see the sunset during dinner. We split a spinach and goat cheese salad. My wife had the Al Pastor Shrimp Brochette and I had the Stuffed Chile Poblano. With dinner we had an Albarino for a wonderful pairing. For desert we split the flan. Every dish was thoroughly enjoyed. Service was friendly and impeccable. It was a night that the Mariachis played and it was a very nice performance, professional and not overdone. All in all, an exquisite evening.
