The views from the bar at the top are incredible, but be patient in getting there at took us over 30 minutes waiting to get in as is was happy hour and the bar had reached maximum safety capacity and it was necessary for people to leave in order to make room for us. Like many touristy places here the prices are higher, so be prepared if you're here to get serious at the bar. There is a menu for bar snacks which came in handy because we were both more hungry than wanting an alcoholic beverage. I recommend to come around 5:00 before they get crowded and you'll be able to get a good seat for one of our famous sunsets on Banderas Bay.

A bar up in a lighthouse is a great idea. The drinks are par but the sights out awesome. The entrance is somewhat hidden due to all the other business on the Marina boardwalk. You can take the stairs or an small elevator, either way will take you to the veiw. You can see cruise ships if they are in port or tops of many of the hotels in the neighborhood. Go up and have a drink

Should be / could be the premiere restaurant on the Marina but It is NOT! My steak was over cooked and most of the rest of the meal was COLD or late coming to the table. The manager avoided me completely, maybe because he doesn't speak English ? But 60% of his clientele DOES! Give yourself a treat and go to the PORTO BELLO at the other end of the marina where you get table cloths, cloth napkins, attentive service and EXCELLENT food. Tom: Canada

We just came here for a few drinks and to see the sun set and we weren't disappointed. Breath taking views and amazing staff. Be prepared to walk up the light house! But its worth the effort.

Great place for food, service, ambiance, and the view. Try to make reservations around sunset for the best possible experience. Also, there's live music on Thursday night only, which will add to your experience. Make this place a must visit while on your trip in Puerto Vallarta!

The view is fabulous. The prices are a bit more than other places in the area, but.....those places lack the view.

Only reason to go to El Faro is for the view at sunset, which was phenomenal. The food was horrible, regardless of the inflated prices. Ordered steak medium rare and it came back blue, they put it back on the grill but was still close to inedible. Zero char on the outside, raw in the center and dry (more like a tuna consistency than a juicy steak). Had to order a side of peppercorn sauce to make the unseasoned and poorly cooked steaks somewhat palatable. Even still we didn't finish it despite paying about $100 USD for them. Shrimp and lobster were overcooked and did not seem fresh. Bottle of wine was good, but paid over 1000 pesos for what should have been half the price. Go between 5:30-7 for sunset, have a few drinks then leave. Get a much better steak at the argentinian place about 50ft away.

This was the highlight of our trip. The food, drinks and service were amazing. We had the 3 course prefix menu and my husband said it was the best steak he had ever had. We had two bottles of wine which made our bill more expensive the food is reasonably priced and the portions are generous. The view is breathtaking. We were there during a storm and the show was remarkable. I would definitely recommend going and we will the next time we see in town.

Loved the view and the design of the tower. I felt like Rapunzel. I had a rib eye steak, wasn’t crazy about the sweet potato mash. Staff were all very welcoming and hospitable. It was a little windy with all the balcony windows open, definitely bring a light jacket at night.

This rated on the follow: food, service, drinks, atmosphere, cost. Food: The food was amazing!! Great taste, great texture, and was overall cooked to perfection. I took my young daughter (who is a VERY picky eater) and she ate ALL the food we ordered for her. Points on the food! Service: The wait staff and staff in general were very nice, pleasant, and attentive. They made great suggestions and helped out with any questions we had about the food. Points again. Drinks: The kids had lemonades, my wife had a mojito, and I had 2 beers PLUS a mojito because once I had a taste of hers, I had to get one of my own. The drinks, again, get points. Atmosphere: You get a great panoramic view of Vallarta from the beach. Since the restaurant is a lighthouse, the views are great. The only issue we really had was that the tables were small, making it a bit difficult to eat without bumping plates; and, the tables are pretty close to each other were we could probably reach over and pick at our neighbor's food. I know, it sounds picky, but I want you all to know this before you go. I didn't really mind it, but my wife kept mentioning it, so, it's in this review. If I could give half a star, I would. Cost: It was 4 (2 kids and 2 adults) of us all together and the cost including drinks came out to close to $3,500 pesos (about $175). So, its a bit costly, but we expected that coming in. So no complaints there. Overall, I highly recommend this place. Especially if you're out on a date with a loved one. I would definitely come back, but this time without the kids; just the wife :)

The view is amazing! Great for a sunset dinner. Music was smooth and the atmosphere was sophisticated casual. And as you can imagine the breeze flowing through the restaurant is most welcome after a 90 degrees day on the beach. It's not very big so having a reservation is key. The choice of alcohols and drinks is larger than I had expected. My only nit - got the Lamb which was great but a little too much pea puree so it over powered everything on the plate. Definitely recommend especially for a romantic dinner.
