I’ve always wanted to go to CJs but hadn’t gotten around it. I’m glad I finally did go. It didn’t disappoint. I’ll need to visit it more of course to give a more solid review. For a first time, here are a couple of things that went well and what I think can be improved. The ambience is very serene and makes you feel like you’re near greenery which is not the case. They have well kept facilities and great decor without being clattered. It’s just right. The food we had was well made and not overdone in spices for a halal restaurant. It’s a pleasant balance. The waiting crew is very courteous, taking orders promptly and ensuring you have what you need to enjoy your meal. We appreciated it so much. All this good waiting culture is great but since you have many servers, it’s quite hard to know whom to tip. Which I suppose isn’t such a big deal but I do like to tip, especially for great service. I’ll visit more branches and sample more of the menu and will review again. For now, I do recommend it!

CJ's is honestly one of the best restaurants I've ever been to,the food is amazing,the atmosphere is breathtaking and impeccable service. It is great for family,friends,solo dates, and more. They offer dining in and take out,it's a go-to restaurant any day any time.

CJs is my favourite restaurant in Nairobi. I visited CJs for the first time in 2019. I visited again in December 2023 and was pleased to find none of the excellence had changed. The food is excellent, from a vast menu. The service is outstanding. The location is an easy walk from Kenyatta Ave. It's always a pleasure.

The portions are generous We ordered 1. chicken wing meal with masala friends and guacamole 2.Caribian jack with chilli fries with guacamole 3. chicken curry with a potato gravy and Avacado Drinks: 1. 2 strawberry lemonades one with ginger 2. Passion Nojitto 💯 would recommend

Good brunch place. It can be a little crowded but still doable if you want to hold a group brunch/working meeting. I liked the food and the fresh juice was really really nice.

CJ's, where big portions meet jaw dropping flavours. This was perhaps the best restaurant that I have eaten in Nairobi . The hospitality and kindness of all the staff was unmatched. The food also tasted incredibly magnificent as if it was being prepared in a royal kitchen with lavish spices and taste. The drinks however are where the magic really took my breath away. CJ's proudly boasts a wide range of drinks all of which taste better than the one before. Would highly recommend this as a spot for lunch and dinner to anyone in Nairobi.

I would give it 6 stars if I could. The architecture, decorations and finishings are exquisite. Feels like I'm in Europe. The staff are friendly, professional, and attentive. Lets talk food. You walk in and are welcomed by the smell the fresh bakery and coffee. The food is tasty, on time, consistent, large portions and affordable. Great value for price. I love this place and will return as often as I can. I've eaten at all the CJ's in Uganda, and like them, but this up's them all.

This place was definitely the best restaurant I have seen in Nairobi. We got a seat immediately and the atmosphere was phenomenal. Absolutely stellar service, the people were on top of things and were helpful and friendly. The food came only five minutes after we ordered and it was both huge portions and superb food. Very tasty, and an all over great experience!

Went here for lunch and the ambience is great. The staff are helpful and nice. The food comes in on time and it's delicious. The drinks are refreshing and amazing. The portion sizes are really good and there's value for money. The desserts are to die for and exquisite 👌. Would definitely recommend!!!

Honestly, this is now my favourite restaurant in Nairobi! Perhaps in Kenya! When I visited in the evening the place was packed. They have chairs outside where you can sit and wait for open seats. It's in uptown Nairobi so not as much pedestrian traffic as other streets in Nairobi. You don't have to wait too long to find open seats. Took less than 15minutes. The menu is expansive and has a beautiful layout. The menu prices are a pretty penny so you better come prepared. The wait for the food is not too long and wow once it came, such a large serving! Totally worth the price and the wait! The food looks better than the menu photos! I promise you. I have never had trouble finishing salad and yes I had to struggle through it! The drinks are so delicious! I will have to go back. Not to mention the restaurant is so roomy! Beautiful lighting and comfortable seats. Just perfect for anytime of day! However, if you leave a little later and are heading back towards the bus termini good to have company. The streets get deserted late night around CJ's. You could also take a taxi home.

Such a great and lovely place to share a meal with your colleagues or family. Food is absolutely delicious. Atmosphere is modern and pleasant. Waiters are welcoming. Service is very fast. It's a go for me.

It was absolutely amazing. The staff were very nice, the food was delicious, and the esthetic was great. The food also arrived in no time, so there was no fuss involved. Overall, if you are in the CBD, I would highly recommend coming here for lunch.

Great food, good customer service, I ubered so I can't say how easy it is to park. I had a hot ginger garlic honey tea, and curry shrimp. Absolutely delicious. I've recommended this place to friends touring with me. No reservations needed.

Finally got to experience the awesomeness that is CJs. The place was pretty packed for the evening but you don't get the sense of crowd. The drinks are okay and the food portions are huge! The menu is also quite extensive which is a plus for how accessible and well priced it is. Enjoyed dinner :)

The food was actually good ... I have always known not to have Asian food at fancy places because the focus is on the looks than the the taste most of the time but this was surprisingly tasty ... The service was kind and polite and they will serve you despite of if you are dressed for the area or not ... Wonderful ambiance, great service, mediocre food, SUPER super small portion sizes, VERY expensive. It’s an okay place. I don’t think there are many (if any) Thai alternatives in Nairobi. But it is really very expensive for incredibly incredibly small portions. Additionally, for some wacky reason, they charge a 28% tax to all the menu items. Lived in Nairobi for years, never been to a restaurant in my life that does that.

Nice, spacious place in CBD Nairobi. Quick, attentive staff. Pretty good selection of traditional Kenyan and non-Kenyan cuisine. Exceptionally huge burgers. It's a little on the pricey side but the portions justify it.

We went to this restaurant for a dinner on our second anniversary and it was a memorable experience. When we go there they had set up the table well with rose petals but we decided to eat sitting down. The service was excellent form our waiter Wilson who was always on hand and took very good care of us. The starters were tasty in good portions and I enjoyed the corn fritters and chicken skewers. The main course of beef and particularly the tilapia was delicious with just the right amount of spice and sweet. These came served with Jasmine rice. The desert and fruits were great too especially the friend ice cream All in all a memorable night

Vibes are very good. But foods are just so so. Been here 3 times, never really liked the food. Today the poached eggs are good, coffee is good, but The waffle was soft and rough, crispy chicken was tasteless.

Place is clean and best in the CBD area. Better than Charlie's, Java etc. Speed of service was good and quality of the Jamaica Jerk Chickens were delicious. Price is higher than others by an average of 20 percent no less. Selection on menu was diverse and plentiful. Noisy place so if you want a quiet area then go up the stairs. Recommended. Toilet was clean and neat.

Last time I was there was in 2019 and today I noticed the size of the food had reduced and the quality of the onion rings was just bad. The waiters aren't kind even though they try to smile at you and they linger too much at your table, can't even have a private conversation.

I had their thai chicken noodle soup for starters. Badly done. The dish had chicken that was an afterthought as it was not seasoned as per the dish. Too much pepper overshadowed the delicate lemongrass taste. Overall, the dish needs improvement. Perhaps season the chicken and reduce the pepper. 5/10 The prawns tagiatelle was the worst dish I have ever had. The tomato sauce was undercooked giving it a bitter taste, the prawns were overcooked with a rubbery taste. Overall abismal performance 🤢🤢.-1/10 The saving grace was their brown indulgence. The brownie was hot and the ice cream cold. the overall play in texture, temperature and taste was awesome 10/10.

3 Stars just because I don't want to have you think it's extraordinary. But it's a good place. Good ambience if you want somewhere impressive at a good price. A+ service from the staff. Average Meal Prices Ksh 1,200. Drinks Ksh 450. This Pizza (Large) was Ksh 1,390. Big enough for two. But as Pizzas go, it was unimpressive. Maybe try the burgers 🍔 with fries. I'm told the wings are nice too.

I had heard all good things about this place and yes, it's lovely and packed especially in the evenings then I was served cold coffee and our server just apologised but didn't bring another cup. I didn't get anything else, I mean if they get coffee wrong ( the machine does all the work ), I couldn't imagine getting a taste of something that they'd made themselves.

Well CJ's is great in various aspects. Out of 5; The ambience gets 5. The decor and the huge glass windows is a plus, it let's in lots of light in making the place look bigger (it's still big). The lighting is also great especially in the evening just when the sun is setting and the darkness is creeping and the lights are on. The chandelier on the atrium with golden lights are beautiful. The seats especially on the lounges look super comfy. The food gets 5: The hype around CJs is not only ambience but the food too. Their menu has a selection of beef, chicken, fish dishes that are delectable. If you fancy a healthy option they do offer quite a number of healthy options on their menu. For drinks please note they don't serve alcoholic drinks but their passion pina colada is to die for. The service gets 3: During their peak hours their service is a little bit slow given the whole area is massive sometimes it feels the staff is overwhelmed but they handled it well. They can reduce the time between ordering the meal and getting served. The staff are cheerful lot though. Extras: The supervisor will walk around to check if you are okay or needed anything which was a plus for me. The fact that they have a secure charging area is also something worth noting and a good gesture. The pricing is average, not cheap and not expensive either with a meal for one person plus drink ranging around 1500KES Overall I rate it 4.5 out of 5. Definitely worth a try.

The breakfast is very poor compared to Village Market & the Waterfront. A very disgusting Hollandaise sauce on the Chicken and Waffles. It was horrible. Also, no waffles, so they subbed for pancakes. With the Steak and Eggs - bad potato pieces, steak was small (I don't know if this is standard at CBD) but at VM and Waterfront, the portions are big even for takeaway. Not being unfair, I've been to CJ's in different locations, this was my first time at the CBD and the food was bad, service was still good. See my other reviews.

Liked the place-the ambience & decor. Staff veery polite & patient. Had a panini. Didn't know what it should have tasted like. So either way, wasn't blown away

Amazing ambience, fantastic space and wonderful service. The moment you enter, you're assigned to a server till you get out. So modern yet you feel at home. The food was superb and exquisite. The food was served in record time and my server always had a smile on. Should introduce a room that has a little bit of privacy but otherwise it was an excellent experience. Thumbs up

A fairly classy restaurant within Nairobi CBD, Koinange Street. Commonly known for meetings over coffee and meals. It is particularly known for business deals meeting point. Meals are fairly pricey to keep idlers away.

Food was great but there was a staff who was very rude..I went with my family last week..the young lady who was serving us ordered my mum to squeeze her self near the table eti she want space on the path...mind you there were other customers next to us.....but nooo she never saw them....she only saw my mum ....

Simply wonderful..... I was seated next to a library of books and it got me thinking about how I'd love to do my homework there.....

One of the more comfortable places in the CBD. The ambience is good & the food portions are generous. Take out packaging is also lovely. However, service is extremely slow! Our waitress didn't seem to have any understanding of her job. We finished eating but no one came to clear our plates for a good 20 minutes. There were many small errors that can definitely ruin your experience; like reaching across the table over your food instead of just going round. They need to get training.

Lovely place!! Delicious food with generous portions. I loved the peach iced tea with ginger, nice touch. The place is chic and clean, well decorated and the staff are friendly. I also liked how you had to wash your hands outside the establishment first.

The best coffee shop in town

The steak was prepared how I asked but the breading is just not meant for steak. The sauce likewise doesn't appeal to my taste buds, the scrambled eggs lacked a certain oomph. Other than that, the breakfast was very filling we had to carry takeaway. This is my second time having the same item but not much has changed.

Central Cafe and restaurant in Nairobi. Nice and friendly staff, and - the most impressive - excellent food! We stayed 5 days in Nairobi and had dinner 4 times at CJ's. So we tried some soups, pizza, pasta, curry and fresh juices. We felt comfortable in this place :)

It was my first time at CJ's i went to the one in Nairobi. I absolutely loved it, from the moment you walk in through those doors the staff usher you in and help you look for a table. They give you time to choose your meal and drinks .I was personally served by one Dickens Nyakundi and he made my experience really worth while. Definitely looking forward to visiting again. Services and food are spot on.👍👌

Very good cafe with a plenty varieties of the breakfast meals. Portions are big, very nicely designed and very delicious. Place is very cozy, lot's of suitable places to enjoy the breakfast. Drinks and deserts are great as well. I definitely recommend this place!!

Visited the restaurant courtesy of a friend, loved the decor and the service. Had an iced caramel latte and some chicken salad that came with avocado, sweet corn, rice, and black beans. Their portions are huge.

Ever wondered why this restaurant is always full and servers have to scramble to find you a table? It's because of how good it is. First, the food. Is it pricier than most Nairobi eateries? Of course. But it is worth it. The meals are well prepared and are quite tantalising, and you can ask them to customise for you nearly everything. Their portions are quite generous too, and I often find myself asking them to bag the remainder for me. The atmosphere is quite awesome and comfortable too, the kind of place you take someone to for a first date to impress them. The servers are curteous too. Totally recommend making this your default eatery when in Nairobi cbd.

CJ’s set the tone for all my resturant expectation. Dinner and brunch was tasteful and yummy. The wings were good, pancake were filling. The mango guava smoothie was a hit. The staff were pleasant and very friendly. I was able to speak with the manager on shift and I love how he speaks so highly of the staffs. He also told us how each staff is train to make decisions on their own. This is a smart resturant move. I Definitely recommend CJ’S.

Maybe some background music would be perfect, but even through this is one of the best restaurants in East Africa. Short waiting time for food and nice staff (in comparsion to other Kenyan and Tanzania restaurants)
