Well. First of all don't expect much. It is just a monument and rather nice figures around it. But. No big deal. Not as far as I saw. But biggest point is how it was done. You see. Long time ago in Russia lived this poet who was also short and with complexes but at same time very romantic. At least they say so. I think he just didn't get laid as much as he wanted so he turned to writing poems, getting drunk and pissing people with his talks... After one of those occasions guy put a bullet in his body. Finitto la comedia. Not really. Apparently everyone was so fond of that little guy that they promptly build this monument and started celebrating his work...

Historic place, but otherwise, there's nothing special about it. The nearby parks are nice, though.

The site of an obelisk commemorating Mikhail Lermontov's duel with Nikolai Martynov. Lermontov, one of Russia's greatest poets, died as a result of the duel even though Martynov supposedly said that he would shoot only into the air.

There is a monument and a park around. Worth visiting if you are interested in the history but better with a guide.

He has Scottish heritage and I am reading A Hero of our Time. Russians revere their literary poets/authors. But some doubt whether this is the duel location. No matter! Lots of people there.
