We came for lunch to celebrate our anniversary. I reserved the table two weeks in advance coz I know it’s pretty popular and usually fully seated during business hours. We ordered a set menu for one and several tapas for the other as we want to try as many dishes as we can. The set menus are quite value-for-money I would say. You don’t need to choose one out of some plates, instead, you’d have all of them, around 9 plates including bread and dessert, if I counted right. We were super full after the meal, and I even skip dinner. The staff are professional, warm-hearted and efficient. They speak fluent English, which is good news for visitors. The foods are mouthwatering, fresh and mild. No wonder it’s the Michelin restaurant in 2021.

My experience here was underwhelming. I understand all the history and tradition about the place, but the food was only ok, not amazing. Very overpriced for what is offered. We had to book a table by going there personally 2 days in advance. They didn’t even bother to reply our email request. I tried the vegan menu and my husband had the menu 1836 plus. He really enjoyed it. His score is 5/5! Not so much for me. The vegan menu is only regular in my opinion, so my score is 3/5. Two things that I really loved and they are worth the visit: artisan bread and the grilled artichoke. The staff is extremely polite and friendly. The place is charming. The pictures are representing the vegan menu.

We were so lucky to get a spot without reservation, but we arrived sharp at opening time. They serve not your typical tapas and that is the greatest thing about this spot. Tuna fish with 7 spices and the cod / aioli bruschetta were my favorite. The stuffed red pepper also nice. Definitively something different.

This place ticks all boxes! Great tapas, exceptional and friendly service and historic vibe. My favorite in Valencia so far. Each dish is served sequently in very attentive manner. Had a lunch and dinner there, everything was good, fresh and well presented. Be sure not to refuse the bread, it’s fantastic. And don’t leave without trying Pepito🫠 Reservation highly advised.

Looking for perfect tapas? Just come here. I advise to make a reservation, the place is known by locals. The chef is an artist who knows to sort the very best of every local product. We took 2 menus, 1836 and “del mar”, we had quite a travel! Nice, smiling stuff. Good local wine selection, their vermouth is also quite a must try.

Fabulous food, unique atmosphere with such history. The lovely waiter and sommelier were both friendly and helpful and made us feel relaxed We had a warm welcome and a great first night in Valencia. We opted for 1836 tasting menu to try new dishes - there is lots of choice on the menu and a huge extensive wine list. The Rioja we were recommended was stunning, very good value and went well with our food. Highly recommend a visit to CasaMontana

What an amazing restaurant! Very high quality, in all types of way. Firstly, the staff is good trained and knows a lot about the wines and dishes on the menu. The atmosphere is also nice, cozy and professional. The different types of meat and fish here are close to perfection, the taste is very pure, so I would not come here if you don’t like raw fish or the taste of pure shellfish. The portions are small and not cheap, but worth it! Lovely that this shared dining concept gives the opportunity to try a lot of traditional and national dishes. 10/10

One of the best tapas restaurants I’ve had in Spain. Everything on the menu is good. We basically just asked for recommendations on what to order for tapas - the pepito and steak were my favorite, and potatoes bravos are delicious as well. I’m normally not a dessert person but even that was spectacular. Would 100% recommend - a big must if in Valencia

In one word: great! Our whole stay in Valencia, we could not find the tapas bar with the quality we were longing for. Until we came to Casa Montana. High quality tapas, a large choice of hot and cold tapas (why does a man only have one stomach?!), and a very pleasant and attentive staff. I will strongly recommend this place to everyone who I hear is going to visit Valencia.

An authentic, traditional tapas bar in the port area, Casa Montaña has great, quick, friendly service, a real old world feel and delicious food. It's also amazingly good value for money. The set menus are really worthwhile as you get lots of smaller samples of local dishes. The fava bean stew was a revelation! Would definitely come back!

Excellent service. Loved the wine. The grilled squid was the most fresh, sweet and tasty grilled squid I've ever tasted. Omg the oysters were so plump, fresh and succulent! The chocolate truffles were out of the world.

A stunning venue for a meal. And worthy of an all the hype. We had a set menu (one vegetarian and one with meat and fish). Service was good. We were given a 90 minute time limit which did put some pressure on but after our time we were moved to the front area to finish our drinks and desert. Food is amazing, especially the beef sirloin!

Fantastic restaurant near the beach with great tapas and a huge wine list. Food was absolutely delicious (the warm leek was one of my favorites in Valencia) and the service was very profesional and friendly. The place is very beautiful - especially the front room. We did miss on the atmosphere a little because we were seated in the back room with a huge round table which wasnt the most comfortable to share food and it felt like we were alone in the restaurant. Nevertheless we enjoyed our late lunch very much.

At the very beginning I was a bit disappointed thinking that it’s only touristic place (even the area is not really friendly) however after a while I was positively surprised with high quality of products and dishes. Prices are reasonable and the quality is top. Selection of wine is also wide so you will not be disappointed. Please remember about reservations - the table for weekend you should book a week in advance

This bodega is not too far from the beach in an area that used to be a fishing village, and it has an old world charm about it. We were greeted with a smile at the front door and ushered into the wine cellar where a table large enough for our group of 7 awaited. It’s a beautiful restaurant! The impressive wine cellar was stocked with 5,000 bottles but we were more interested in the meal. This place is really a vermouth connoisseur’s dream, so the meal choices are tapas. Nonetheless, we were given great recommendations including the tuna potato salad, red peppers stuffed with tuna and bechamel sauce, marinated squid and tender sirloin. Of course, the jamon was exceptional. Overall, it was a fantastic experience featuring exquisite food, great service and a beautiful venue.

After hearing plenty of raving reviews about Casa Montaña, we finally had the opportunity to try it out. Unfortunately the food was mediocre, we asked the waiter to order several dishes for us in order to get a general 'feel' of the restaurant, and not one of these choices blew us away. They all had an effortless edge, one which could have easily been replicated by an amateur chef at home. The service was lovely, the food was not.

The food is delicious. The service great. Seasonal means seasonal and it is all as it should be; near perfection. It shows that people are proud of what they serve. This is simply a place to go and taste Valencian food at its finest. Of course the wines are there also, just so that we're clear and they do range from great and reasonably priced to fantastic and adequately priced (I guess although I did not go for the upper end of the range).

We had the chef tasting menu. Started out great; the fresh bread, cheese filled peppers, cod cream and the tuna all very good. The leaks were too bland for my taste and the prosciutto was way too salty (so far a Spanish theme). The sirloin was perfectly cooked rare and was very well seasoned. Cheesecake too small. We sat in front at high seats and the setting was very comfortable. Service above and beyond

A stellar culinary experience. Booking is a must. And understandably so. A super-friendly, multi-lingual welcomer at the door led us to our table. The ambience is excellent: surrounded by old wine and spirit barrels as well as bottles galore, we could tell straight away that we were in for a treat. As an aperitif I had the house Cava: it was stylish, complex and elegant. This, and all the wines, were served in Schott Zwiesel glassware. The chef’s tasting menus seemed like a good way to explore the range on offer, we chose the 1836 (when the restaurant was founded) tasting menu - one of them with the wine flight (4 wines matched to some of the courses). All the courses were exceptional, perfectly sized and wonderfully balanced in flavour and intensity. The presentation was stylishly unfussy. In particular, I enjoyed the chocolate truffle as a part of the dessert - I do not have an overly sweet tooth but this was standout fabulous, and went perfectly with the dessert wine. Our waiter was friendly, informed, knowledgeable about the wines and attentive to when we had finished each course. A must visit for any trip to Valencia. Truly outstanding.

We just had lunch here and the food was sooo wonderful. My husband loves to eat great food and since he's a retired chef his standards are higher than most. The tapas here had him clean his plate (they were so tasty and wonderfully prepared). Something he rarely does. I'm a picky eater so was delighted they had dishes I loved too. Highly recommend you go taste for yourself!!

This place we felt has got lost in its own hype of how good it is. The actual bar/restaurant area is lovely with all the barrels etc. We had the set menu with meat and fish. This 36€ per person which we felt was expensive for what you got. The tapas was tasty but not exceptional. The best course was the last, sirloin steak. We were rushed through the first 3 courses so asked for a break. The waiter at the end asked if we wanted coffee but we had to remind him we hadn't had our dessert. Overall it's nice enough but you can find equally good tapas for a lot less.

Amazing hospitality. Food is DELICIOUS. I highly reccomend the spiced tuna and the cuttlefish stew. Oh and the artichokes are a must. Steak is also delicious, and the Jamon melts in your mouth. We had the chance to spontaneously get a table, so definitely do a reservation! The food was very good with a lot of vegetarian choices for a higher price than common. The service was also very coming towards and friendly. Unfortunately we were charged for three portions of bread that we didn’t have, but just realized it through a second look on the bill at home.

The meal my wife and I had at Casa Montana was the best one we had while in Valencia. That is saying a lot because all of the food we ate on our trip was spectacular. (Translated by Google) Casa Montaña is one of those places where it is impossible to think of something negative after visiting it. The experience of eating in a historic establishment in Valencia, in the emblematic neighborhood of El Cabanyal, tremendously charming and with a unique flavor and atmosphere, accompanies you throughout the tasting of exquisite dishes, not only in its careful preparation but also in product quality. The treatment of the staff, exceptional: friendly, detailed and concerned at all times for our well-being. More than recommended. I do not usually give this note because I am usually very demanding, but the 10 is more than deserved. Great ambiance and delicious tapas. Casa Montana is one of the oldest & most authentic tapas bar of the neighbourhood so you can’t find better taste in the area. The decor of the restaurant-bar was also quite charming. Our only complaint was the service. They made mistakes in our orders and took a very long time to serve us towards the end (possibly because they got very busy with more customers). Still recommend this place. Make sure to reserve before going or else you won’t find a table.

She encouraged us to wait a little and we didn't have to wait for long. The food is really amazing. Service was quite okay considering it was a busy night. I love most things on the menu. Nothing on the menu disappoints. The wine i ordered is pretty great too.
