Delicious food, although worse during the second visit than the first time the day before. The service is amazing, the waiters are very professional, experienced, just great. You can reserve tables, but in low season it is not necessary, there will always be places available. I recommend you to spend a truly Spanish evening with Spanish food.

Food was fine. Service pretty bad. It was obvious the the guy that served us didn't want to be there, throwing cutlery and plates on the table not saying a word or trying to smile. The older man was doing fine. Paella was good but not impressive, I've had better for sure, maybe expectations were too high.

We waited for about 1 hour to be seated. There were too many reservation made. We entered at 1 PM. I ordered paella with chicken and rabbit Stacey doesn't eat fish.I ordered scallop, mussels, and fried squid. We had some red wine and beer. Stacey ordered ice cream Service was great and food was good The price was also good.

The Paella was rich and tasty, really like it! The starters - potatoes in garlic sauce and fried cod with peppers were good as well. Service is terrific.

Great beachfront location. Super helpful staff - took our booking and also moved it when we realised we weren’t going to be hungry by 1pm. We had bread with some seriously outstanding allioli, and shared a Valencian salad which had tuna, capers, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and olives. I didn’t love the salad, but appreciated some veggies in prep for the seafood paella. The paella was tasty, but sort of same-note the whole way through so got a bit much very quickly. That’s probably the nature of the dish rather than the restaurant. If you like paella this is a good one. I ordered a glass of the house white, and it was pretty awful. If you’re Australian and I say “Lindeman’s”, you’ll know exactly what I mean. Wasn’t amazing value (one bread, one salad, one paella, a glass of wine and a soda came to €60), but probably standard for El Cabanyal. You’re paying for the view!

We had such a nice experience at La Pepica. It felt very authentic and, coming from London, quite good value for money. We popped by at 12.45 and booked ourselves in for a table at 15.15. We had a dip in the sea and when we came back to the restaurant everything went super smoothly. All the staff were nice and efficient, especially Jose Ramon who made our lunch such a pleasant experience. Would highly recommend! PS: It's normal for paella to take a while to arrive. We ordered starters and allowed ourselves to relax whilst we waited and it was great.

La Pepica is an absolute gem for anyone seeking an authentic Paella experience in Valencia. This traditional restaurant not only serves the most delectable, mouthwatering Paella, but it also boasts a rich history that adds to the overall charm. From the moment you step in, you're transported to a bygone era, and the attentive service only enhances the experience. The menu is a treasure trove of traditional Spanish flavors, and the Paella, in particular, is a showstopper. Each bite bursts with an explosion of taste, showcasing the true essence of this iconic dish. One of the best parts? The prices are surprisingly reasonable given the top-notch quality and generous portions. However, be prepared to plan ahead and secure a reservation, as this place is understandably popular and can be quite busy. In summary, La Pepica is a must-visit for anyone craving an authentic taste of Valencia's culinary heritage. Don't miss out on this incredible dining experience.

We came for the paella and history… we were not disappointed! Fantastic service from moment we walked in. This is a historic Spanish eatery and worth viewing all the displays around on the walls. Yes this was one of Hemingway’s favourite haunts! The paella was very well done. Making a reservation might be advised otherwise ho when they open at 1pm.

In my second day here in Valencia for a vacation. Arrived early but the staff is friendly and provide a very good hospitality to me. I had the tasting menu and the food is absolutely amazing! Recommend the fish aka all seafood paella👍🏻

Saw this place recommended online and made a reso way in advance to come have a taste of local cuisine. We arrived on time and a line had already formed before us but it cleared quickly. Couldn’t get a terrace table initially (even though I’d made the request) but I informed the staff it’s our honeymoon so I’d pre-indicated this and they decided to accede to it. Ordered some “traditional” tapas and also asked for a recommendation for paella (the squid ink!) and the food was served promptly and delicious! Our waiting staff was very attentive and polite, thank you💖 Would recommend to come for a nice, relaxing evening!

This is the number one place if you want to enjoy a great paella in an authentic Spanish atmosphere. The menu offers several versions, we can recommend the Pepica Paella based on sea fruit. Delicious! The staff is really professional and fast. They work really hard so the guests can have a good time

We took the chance of coming here without making a reservation, the outdoor seating area was crowded but we were able to get seating right away. The Paella was fantastic, I suggest staying away from the patatas bravas (terrible). The sangria was nice and refreshing, great location just off the beach, and service was decent for how crowded it was.

The BEST paella ever! For something a bit different we decided to order the Duck and Mushroom and from the first forkful to the last it was simply delicious. To pass a bit of time while the paella was cooking we chose the gambas , they too were very tasty. We chose the house wine and it was very good both the prawns and the paella. Finished it all off with a Pedro Ximenez. The bill was very reasonable at £80

A must visit if in Valencia. More authentic than the other ‘go to’ paella spot Casa Carmela. Also exceptional value, bottle of quality white wine and large paella for two and water for under 50 euros. Our wine was not cold and the waiter took quite a while to get the bill etc however that’s all sort of the experience! Don’t go if you are in a rush, absorb the atmosphere.

The service provided by Madai has been very good and the atmosphere is nice and welcoming. The food was also good, however we did have a corquette that was actually cold in the middle which was a bit disappointing but not a deal breaker. The paella was also good and fresh. Overall a good experience but they can do much better if there is a bit more attention given to the kitchen.

A very nice historical restaurant by the beach. We went for a nice dinner and got the paella and sangria. It did take a little longer for the service as was crowded but the waitress was friendly and had a great attitude. The sea food paella was served nicely seasoned and the desserts were out of this world. I recommend to book a place in advance as it can get very busy.

We booked a table on the patio through their website but upon arrival they refused to let us choose from many available tables on the patio! It seemed that they saved the tables with better views for the locals. We ordered the famous Pepica paella, the cook on the rice was perfect but the ratio of seafood to rice seemed light. We also ordered pulpo, shrimps and muscles, which very okay. Overall a nice place to have lunch but don’t expect exceptional food!

I was looking for on google the best paella in Valencia and La Pepica was on the list. So we've been there and everything was beyond our expectation. And the history of this restaurant is amaizing. I give 5 stars for food, service and atmosphere 👏👏👏

Had many recommendations to come here for it’s history and traditional paella. This is what we got and with a great seaside view. The paella was good, but I wasn’t blown away (prawns in shell were overcooked). Think that i’ll keep looking for a better paella next time…

Cute and friendly environment. A classic taverna serving classic dishes. I was not as impressed as I expected with the paella at this restaurant but maybe my expectations were too high. Other than that the food was really good.

Very authentic paella 🥘 amazing flavours!! This is a well established restaurant in Valencia and you can tell.. all the locals come here to eat for a reason. Highly recommended 👌 the pictures are veg & seafood paella, also the baby squid was fried in a light batter was fantastic!!

Be honest, I have no idea 4☆ or 5☆, everything really tasty, and locals and tourists like this place, food great, service fast and attention to you. Maybe 4,5☆. Menu in English (so no problem for tourists), quality and size of portions a good. One more, book table in advance.

The authentic flavour and taste of Valencia. Sat out on the terrace having made our reservation about 10 days in advance. Very laid back about us arriving 20 minutes late. Had a lovely chat with the owner (using my pigeon Spanish) who proudly showed me some of the photos on display and spoke about his family who had run the restaurant before him.

Outrageously overpriced patata bravas with a seaview. We had the paella pepica it was very good can't possibly fault it. The place inside is huge and the service is quick.

Traditional food with very friendly staff. They were also very accommodating of seating us outside due to our concerns over covid.

🫤 The place is very nicely decorated, as if you were surrounded by tents and in a jungle. Very well done. The food was delicious too. What is a major disadvantage of this restaurant is that you have a time block of 1.5 hours. We were with another couple of friends and had to order everything immediate...
