We spent a post snowstorm Christmas Eve at Strøm spa and had such a nice day. The staff was pretty helpful at check in. We ended up making a reservation at the restaurant after deciding we would be there the whole day. We also got talked into adding the floatation bath, which I wouldn’t really recommend and don’t really know why it isn’t part of the experience. It was nice and relaxing, but not worth the extra cost. We went in every sauna, relaxation room and pool throughout the day. We swapped out towels often but they only give you one robe for the day, which stays damp for most of the day. The entry to the ‘lazy river’ from the changing rooms was closed during our visit, which definitely downgraded the experience as you had to walk out into the cold. The dry sauna and salt scrub downstairs were great, I also enjoyed the infrared room. The outdoor pools were nice once you were in them but the heaters on the towel racks weren’t enough to keep them from freezing. The restaurant experience was really great, not the typical ‘spa food’ you’d expect and the drinks and service were exceptional. Staff at the front didn’t seem like they really wanted to help you (not sure if this was just because of Christmas). The website needs more info to make you completely prepared. They do NOT provide sandals or bags for wet suits like other spas in Iceland or the US. Overall a really nice day.

Echoing other recent comments here that we had to wait in line for over an hour just to check in, even though we had reserved online. Standing in the cold was not fun at all! Apparently the new computer system did not improve the situation. We also noticed that the facility and equipment were dirty, such as dirt and trash in the relaxation rooms and pools and dirty bathrobes left on the changing room floor. We were disgusted when we saw used tissue papers left on the thermal chairs. Staff needs to improve their English and the restaurant services were also very slow. Overall, this place is not recommended.

What a shame....I would have loved to give it 5 stars. The experience was perfect without the CATASTROPHIC check in and check out. This absolutely ruins the whole experience which is supposed to be relaxing. Despite booking in advance and having an appointment time fixed in advance, we waited in line at check-in and were only able to enter the spa 30 minutes after our arrival. The staff is very cold and totally overwhelmed, that said I find them relatively patient when I know the hundreds of insults they have to receive all day long from customers tired of waiting for their appointment which never arrives. hour. But the worst part was undoubtedly the check out process. A queue of around fifteen people (since when have we been lining up to return locker keys???). The line does not move forward, the staff spends 15 minutes with each customer. To talk about what? We will never know because no one had the patience to wait, we all threw our keys on the counter after 20 minutes, saying how unacceptable the lack of organization was. Results of the races: a very stressful experience. I consult the opinions: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING has been done for several months to improve these disastrous processes. Without a doubt because despite the wait and the chaotic organization, the spa is full. So wait for the backlash, when you treat your customers badly, it always comes back one day or another.

Wow! What a nice spa; it rivals the ones in Europe! The location, the different pools, different treatments including all the nice relaxation areas… and the cafe! The locker room and the showers, clean and modern! Would definitely recommend and gladly visit again! Prices are comparable to others in the area.

This was the best spa ever. The best experience and the best relaxing place. We went after 5pm and we got the daily pass and we were able to use all the pools and tubs and exfoliating places. It was extremely relaxing, very nice people and very very beautiful views. This spa is something you should experience at least once. They had multiple hot tubs, multiple pools, an infinity pool, saunas, and exfoliating saunas. It gives you a piece of mind and our skin feels so much better We were more than happy and we will definitely be back.

Amazing experience. The epsom pool is 100% worth the extra fee. We had a great time, it was relaxing and revitalizing and I would highly recommend visiting if you're in the area.

The Spa itself was amazing. The booking process was a nightmare. We had booked through their central booking phone number. One of our treatments was not booked. We got to the spa Friday evening and they were lined up out the door to get in because it is cheaper to get in after 5pm. We were told we could not get into the spa as it was already full only for our treatment. Once we got to the front desk we found out we could use the thermal spa and book our meal. The spa staff were very accommodating after you got past the front door. It was much better the next morning, less crowds during the day. Worth paying a bit extra for the day time visit. There were many different areas with things to do. You kinda had to explore not great signage of the different areas. All in all we really enjoyed the spa during the day the best.

This place is like the Disneyland of spas. I was pleasantly surprised to keep finding new rooms with different experiences inside. The salt float pool was very cool but personally not worth the extra money. The general entry has so many different baths and spaces that it wasn’t necessary. The food was delicious and creative! Overall a great experience and would highly recommend.

I have been to a few Nordic Spa’s and decided to try Strom as my hotel was close by. I read the reviews on google prior to coming and almost didn’t even book because of so many negative reviews. I booked a 9am on a Saturday and got there at 8:50am for check-in. It wasn’t busy at this time and I didn’t have to wait in line. I’ve heard the girls at reception were rude, but I didn’t have any problems. I was a little nervous that they’d be rude because I didn’t speak French, but they were very helpful, kind and courteous. I received my bathrobe, and the reservation specifies 1 bathrobe for the package I booked, which is more than fair. None of the Nordic Spa’s I’ve visited even offered a 2nd robe. I wrapped a towel underneath my robe each time I went into the pool to prevent my robe from getting too wet. Towels are unlimited. One minor thing I’d change is providing slippers. This is the only Nordic Spa that doesn’t provide it. You have to bring your own or buy it. Views were amazing. You can see the St Lawrence River from every direction, wherever you were. I loved the infinity pools and the river where you can float through with pool noodles. I also liked the infrared chairs to help aches and pain. Although it does specify 20 minutes max to respect other patrons and there were people snoring inside and going well over 30 minutes. I believe this is something that could be monitored better because there were a lot of staff walking around together and just chatting. I think some of the things were a little worn out. Very minor and it didn’t bother me. The restaurant was great and food was reasonably priced. I got a soup and sandwich combo. I was asked by reception if I wanted to make a reservation, which I did. It was busier around 12pm, but I think I could’ve gotten in without a reservation. I booked it at 1pm. I loved that there were about 10 showers. I’ve been to a few Nordic Spa’s that only had 3 and often we had to wait in line. Overall, in comparison to other Nordic Spa’s, I can honestly say I highly recommend Strom. I had a very relaxing and great time here, even despite how busy it got on a Saturday. This place is huge and there’s definitely so much to do here and lots of places to relax.

Fantastic facilities located within walking distance (~25 mins) of Lower Old Town Quebec. We highly recommend planning at least a half day at Strøm if visiting Quebec City, and leave enough time to eat at the restaurant! The spa was quite empty on Sunday morning but definitely filled in and bordered on crowded by midday. We decided to lunch at the restaurant on site and it was an excellent choice, they have a nice selection of cocktails and other beverages and the menu featured all local and seasonal ingredients (good for vegetarians - the mushroom tart and soup combo was perfect). It snowed for about two hours during our visit and that only added to the ambience in both the outdoor hot baths and the restaurant. The grounds include multiple hot baths overlooking the St Lawrence River, a few cold plunge pools and then a mix of indoor saunas and relaxation rooms, all of which work great in a rotation. Lovely spa and we cannot wait to visit again!

This place is to die for. We spent 10 hours there and easily filled the time. You have to be quiet or silent throughout which makes it so peaceful. They enforce it as well which is great. There's lots of cold and hot experiences, and a free DIY eucalyptus salt scrub experience. The food was healthy and delicious and the staff were great. You get one robe but unlimited towels so don't get your robe wet.

Prepare for a little piece of heaven. Sweat out toxins in the dry sauna or in one of the two steam baths. Plunge into one of the three icy pools ranging from 55-65 degrees and then unwind in complete relaxed state in the 98 degree lazy river or infinity pool overlooking the St Lawrence River. Ease sore muscles in one of the hot tubs or infrared chairs. Take a nap in a hammock or pod chair or even in a room on a bed with a panoramic view of the river. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. Sip organic juice or reserve your spot at the Bistro for a quiet meal. You will leave refreshed and relaxed.

You will love this lovely spa that is on the Lawrence River! Seriously the most beautiful scenery, nature and air 😊 All of the pools are large and outstanding! There are so many places to relax. I love the Eucalyptus steam rooms where you can grab some ice chips right outside and take them inside the steam room for a unique sensation. You will leave feeling refreshed! Definitely 100% recommended to go right when you get into Quebec City or at the end of you trip. It’s definitely an experience that would be great to factor in 3-5 full hours (or more if you are getting massage and eating at bistro) so you can fully relax and enjoy the beautiful spaces of the Spa. Having this Nordic Spa experience, especially at Strom is a must that you should add and fit into your trip! You deserve this and will not regret and will surely want to return.

Wonderful spa day spot. So many pools and saunas and resting areas. Swings and beautiful view of the St. Lawrence river. Delicious food and drinks available in their restaurant as well. Absolute 5 star experience.

This spa was perfection! It was so beautiful and clean. There was lots of pools to chose from and the lazy river was such a nice touch. It’s so close to old Quebec but you really feel like you are outside the city. I wish the food menu had a few more less extravagant options. Overall it was a wonder experience and I’d definitely go back if I’m in the city again

Our experience here was perfection. We loved it so much we went the following day on vacation. We waited in the non-reservation line and we’re able to get in. There’s much to say about this place and that it even exists. Everything was considered here. The sleek design, the view of the icy river, a wide variety of saunas, steam rooms, cold plunges, pools. It was unbelievable. It felt very clean and kept up. We didn’t eat here but I would recommend letting the front desk you’d like to even if you just grab a beverage the experience seems worth every penny. Bring flip flops or sandals! Wish we knew that beforehand. Expect to wait for a while, even with reservations. Arrive at least 30 minutes early. It seems like it’ll be packed throughout the spa when considering the line inside but it is very spacious and enjoyable for all. Staff was courteous and very helpful.

The setting and staff allow for a real moment of relaxation. I highly recommend trying this experience in the evening from 5 p.m., not only is it cheaper and the view is breathtaking. Come from 5 p.m. otherwise you will have a queue or from 7 p.m.

Great experience. Could easily spend all day at the spa. Great restaurant on site. Many features. Really worth the price when you can spend your whole day at the spa. I would recommend spending your whole time there.

Amazing experience. For the policy of Storm Spa, we didn't take a photo inside to show you all, but Amazing, and more than what you paying is worth it. We went on a cloudy day -13, -16 was the temperature, around 3 pm to 8 pm, and was the best time for me, not too busy, and very polite staff, the food was amazing, and I had a sparkle Japanese tea with baked cheese, and recommend to everyone, was phenomenal. Great experience and great job storm spa Quebec, keep up this quality.

Clean, very relaxing. Large enough that you do not feel overcrowded. The staff was nice. The only thing is that whether or not you reserve a table at the restaurant, you still have to wait in line with walk ins. I would still highly recommend. After my second time there, I think they should really work on the wait for checking in and the restaurant.

NOTE TO POTENTIAL VISITORS: Do your best to reserve your spot online days before your desired spa day to guarantee entrance. Showing up without reservation during summer and nice weather weekends and holidays is almost a recipe for disappointment..unless you're willing to come the moment they open (until everyone decides to do this strategy lol) I am a regular here especially on holidays and long weekends and I feel bad for those who are turned down on the spot because the site is full. Then people would bug the workers on check in area to know when they would be called after joining the waitlist when obviously these workers COULDN'T know that info in advance as people stay here for 4 to 7hours. Oeeef. The site is beautiful and relaxing so no doubt it's popular. The restaurant food is so so thou. Do your self a favor and book in advance.

Book time towards end of vacation after walking all around Quebec City on foot. Definitely made the right decision by coming here. What an amazing place to relax, enjoy and have a lovely time. Floatation pool was fantastic experience and very relaxing!

I’ve visited twice and was both times was really disappointed by the amount of people talking loudly throughout the experience & in ‘complete silence’ areas. It completely ruined the experience. There is no staff monitoring it like other Nordic spas and the staff overall are unfriendly and unhelpful. They were even power washing during one visit!!!! The restaurant is in the middle creating more noise & there are no clocks by the pools to time your stay. The pools are nice but overall wouldn’t recommend - disappointment

  • 5/5 Emanuel H. 8 months ago on Google
The whole experience was amazing! Well worth spending the day exploring all that is offered here. My pregnant wife got a discount because she couldn't do all the thermal pools. The restaurant had some of the best food I had in Quebec City.

It was my first time at a Nordic spa. To be fair I am not completely versed with the suggested protocols or techniques so for me it was all a little adhoc. It would have been nice for the staff to provide a little direction or recommendations I.e to go from really hot to not so cold or warm to cold etc.. I suppose I could have done the research myself but I didn’t and didn’t want to take my phone with me to read up on it while at the spa. There were lots of different pools ranging from warm to cool which was nice. There were also a selection of dry and steam rooms with higher and lower temps to suit your comfort. The exfoliating salt was a nice treat and included. I didn’t use much of the chill out rooms but imagine they would make a welcome relaxation area had we been there for a whole day. Spent 2-3 hrs in the evening and it was plenty for what we wanted to do. You get only one complementary robe but unlimited towels. It was a little uncomfortable wearing a robe after it got wet and we were in winter conditions so was stiff from freezing over so naturally gravitated to the hot sauna, and hot pools only dipping in the cooler ones to cool off. I believe the coldest pool was 14C And the hottest said 39 but I think that pool wasn’t operational because it was empty and felt much colder than the others. I’d say an improvement would be to have staff engage people more or have posted suggested guidelines to best enjoy the experience. I thought the price was more than reasonable when compared to the Nordic spas out west like whistler which has been the biggest roadblock to me having tried Nordic spas. My partner indicated this location was much more scenic and more options than Whistler so that’s a huge bonus. Pictures taken before changing and going outside

Fantastic spa. Enjoyed it in the heat of summer and the cold of winter. Salt scrub left my skin feeling amaaaazing 😍. Warm beets with mozzarella foam with a chai is a must from the restaurant. Love every visit. See you soon...

Honestly one of the best experiences I have ever had. Amazing atmosphere. So many pools and saunas to choose from. The favorite was the lazy river. The food was INSANELY GOOD. The chef there was absolutely next level. Amazing on all fronts!

A truly unforgettable experience! We went on the evening and it was one of the best evenings we have ever had! The amenities are modern and new. The whole spa has a view of the St-Lawrence river. Our favorite part of our evening was the food! Such a good time! We will surely return.

Had a wonderful & relaxing morning at the spa! For first timers, heads up that they don’t (by default) show you around and what not so if you’re not sure, do ask and they’ll oblige. They have a variety of hot and cold pools of varying hotter/cooler temperatures, all clearly labeled. In addition, there were also saunas and special baths which we enjoyed. We didn’t get to try their restaurant since it was pretty early in the morning. For the price, would totally come back!

Amazing way to relax in Quebec City. The thermal experience is exhilarating, the restaurant offers delish food (though was understaffed in the Wednesday we visited); add a massage for an incredible experience.

Worst experience. I do not recommend at all . We've been there 3 times, each time there's a problem with the reservation, the reception service is a big 0. Today I left because I had a big mouse that climbed on me while we were relaxing in the water path, disgusting! Definitely the last time we go there. Worst spa in Quebec!

To begin with, the welcome at the reception is bad, the staff is cold, very few explanations can be given. The website is complicated in terms of reservations, there is no way to get a refund, we are told no for the evening, it is full full full I decide to put myself on the call-back list and poof I have a place but too late I left for another activity I do not recommend especially for the customer service both on site and on the phone there is room for improvement

  • 1/5 Peter L. 2 months ago on Google • 1 review New
The booking system is a nightmare!!!!! The reservation system at this hot spring is extremely problematic, making it nearly impossible to secure a booking. Even when there appear to be available slots, it's challenging to complete the reservation. Inputting information into the designated fields proves difficult, and attempting to refill may result in losing your spot. Refreshing the webpage often shows that there are no available slots. The customer service hotline's representatives exhibit a notably poor and impatient attitude. Moreover, they insist that only those who book a massage can secure a spot. If you choose not to reserve a massage, even if you are on the waiting list, they won't provide any information on the list's status and will only give dismissive responses before promptly ending the call. Such a service experience is truly disappointing.
