Initiale is fantastic. The ambience not only looks but feels elegant and the service is impeccable with multiple waiters all very knowledgeable. To be treated on a first name basis by Rolande (the co-owner, wife of the chef and head of the floor) was amazing. She was as gracious as possible and made our anniversary dinner even more special. Last but not least the food is beyond good, the menu changes constantly and the passion and effort put into every dish is noticeable. Chef Lebrun mixes up a lot of French and Canadian ingredients to create masterpieces. A must in Quebec City!

Have been going to this restaurant since I was a child and without doubt it's the best restaurant I've been to in the northern hemisphere. The chef never ceases to amaze me how he can incorporate local produce and transform it into the best thing you have ever tasted while making it look like something out of a prestigious art gallery. The service is the exquisite. It had been a while since I had been there but one of the waiters recalled how I definitely didn't have any allergies but as policy he had to ask😂. A must visit for anyone in Quebec City who loves their food and appreciates amazing service. You'll thank me later.

The best dinning experience that we had in Quebec! The food was incredible and perfectly prepared. The service was outstanding. Everyone was so kind and truly wanted to make our experience special. The atmosphere was quiet and romantic- perfect for conversation and enjoying a long meal on Christmas night. I cannot recommend this place enough for anyone who is looking to have a special meal while visiting this beautiful city.

This restaurant is in the central tourist district of Quebec City. The dining room is quite large, and I liked the set up with large tables well spaced from each other. Decoration was a bit old fashioned, with lots of browns. Service was impeccable, the right mix of friendliness and professionalism. Food was also excellent - one of the best meals we had in Canada. It is a very expensive restaurant, but we believe it was worth it.

Came here for news year's eve dinner. Was greeted by name and immediately felt welcomed. Had a very nice tasting menu set up for the evening. All the sea dishes tasted very fresh and light, but flavorful at the same time. The meat dishes are equally as well sourced and prepared. Had a of the best blue cheese I ever tasted and the desserts were great too. The dishes were inventive with out being overdone or sacrificing quality.

Probably the best restaurant in the entire Province of Quebec! The chef is as master at making sauces to complement most dishes. The cheese selection is amazing. The menu changes regularly, so you can return again, and again! This is a true 5 star restaurant. Very calm and velvety mood. The wine selection could be a little more extensive.

Excellent food, great wine pairings. We selected the traditional menu, which was a combination of duck and fish courses. Food was well prepared and tasted excellent, but we didn't find much to distinguish this from a high-end modern American/European restaurant in any other city. We didn't identify much Quebecois / Canadian character in the food, which we realized we were seeking as first time visitors. On a Friday night in October, it appeared there were four other tables (plus possibly a private party in a separate space) and we were the last seated at 7:30 pm. We were conscious of talking too loud as the neighbors would hear everything, and could hear much from the other end of the dining room.

Highly recommend $165 tasting menu!!! It’s terrific and creative!!!!!! I spent last night in Quebec with my boyfriend and it was so wonderful because of Initiale! And the manager Rolande is so cute and attractive! Enjoy every moment here!

What an amazing experience! Food was served as a multi course dinner. The entire restaurant team was fantastic: super attentive and informative. We were celebrating our anniversary there and it all felt so special. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Decoration was a bit old fashioned, with lots of browns. Service was impeccable, the right mix of friendliness and professionalism. Food was also excellent - one of the best meals we had in Canada. They had asked upon booking if we booked for a special occasion, and yes, the desert plates had congratulations for us with our names for our wedding anniversary. It is a very expensive restaurant, but we believe it was worth it.

👍 We were there for lunch and there was no lineup. We ordered the croissant sandwiches and coffee, both are freshly made. Highly recommend. Staff are very helpful to suggest food from the menu.
