Walking through town, this place caught our eye. Reviewed the menu posted outside and decided to give it a try. WOW, So happy we did. we shared a bowl of muscles in tomato broth and a pizza, both were great! Oh, and a bottle of valpolicella. Service was quick, helpful and friendly. We recommend you stop by Parmesan Restaurant on your next visit to Quebec City.

Everything was dissatisfying. The food was just okay, the kind you would get at any Italian restaurant, and the tables were packed so tightly so that passers-by constantly hit me. The worst was the service of the servers. The attitude was very unkind and rude and it was the worst experience from the moment we sat down to the moment we left. I will never go to this restaurant again and I don't understand why this restaurant is so crowded. Wasn't worth the money I spent on this restaurant.

I loved the whole experience here, the live music, the food and the service! Tons of artifacts on the wall and really tells you the story of the place. The owner is super nice and checks in with customers’ dining experience! Recommended for all ages

Delicious food Amazing experience I really like their gnocchi!! Staff is really friendly. It is little bit too crowded. Too many tables and chairs. I had to remove the table to sit besides it. We couldn't buy one wine glass. Instead we had to buy a whole bottle. It was $48. I could buy the same bottle from SAQ for $18. This price is acceptable if we had the option to buy a wine glass too. I know price can be expensive when we buy it at this setting but that gap is too much, Specially when we cannot buy one glass of wine. Overall it is a good experience

One of the worst restaurants I’ve experienced. We dined at this restaurant in a group of 7. Our server made his best attempts to ignore us the whole time. After waiting 2 hours without being served our food, I had to make an inquiry with the bar staff as our server would brush us off every time. After 2 and half hours past, we made a request to get the bill from the reception as we have still not been served. After a lot of back and forth, our food finally arrived. I thought the food would be the saving grace, however it was definitely below average. The pastas are decent (it better be since it took 2+ hours to cook) and everything else was a disappointment. With so many restaurants in the area, skip this one and never look back!

Visited this restaurant on a Friday evening and it was busy. Though we were seated almost immediately no one attended to us for about 20 minutes. We decided to leave and then came a server to take our order. From then onwards the service was good. We ordered only a couple of items, the French onion soup and Poulet Parmesan (Chicken & Spaghetti). They offered the complimentary bread and butter. The bread was cold and hard, and the butter was extra salty and cold. Didn’t really like eating them. At least the bread should have been warm and soft. The two other items came in quick. The French onion soup though looked delicious the taste was just average. The portion size was big and will almost make a single person full. The Poulet Parmesan was an average tasting dish. Could have been a lot better. Overall, the service was good, atmosphere was great but the food was just average.

All of the things presented are normal. Tres bien!. But risotto is a little salty. Considering the character in famous tour place location, I felt the efforts from staff and the owner. Good luck to them ~.

Amazing service, great music, and pretty good food. The atmosphere was fun and the staff are super inviting. The food was pretty good but a little pricey. The musician that serenaded us during dinner with an accordion made it worth it : ) I loved the candles in the middle of the table :)

Awesome and authentic Italian restaurant with a lovely collection of photos and collectibles. French onion soup is awesome here. Food was so good I forgot to take photos!

Great atmosphere, accordion player singing and hosts were lively makes for fun dinner setting. Wide variety of Italian food. Gnocchi was a little salty but good. Penne with ham mushrooms and peas was very good. What I definitely would recommend is the after dinner drink of fire brandy. They prepare at your table.

The bruschetta is AMAZING! The pizza is delicious and the pesto pasta is so creamy and savory. We loved the live music.

I love the interior of the place with all the ornaments and the accordion playing throughout the evening was wonderful. However, the place was overpriced in my opinion though. (2 dishes came to almost $60) And the place is crammed with tables so much so that you have to be very careful walking past tables not to knock things over. It's always busy so if you plan to go, I do recommend making a reservation in advance.

It was the first time eating at this restaurant. This place was amazing! Food, atmosphere, drinks, service, they even had a man playing the accordion... Everything was out of out of this world. We brought our family there for my daughter's 20th birthday and they even sang her happy birthday. This was a great experience and thank you to all that made it special ❤️😊 Will definitely go back and recommend.

We walked in out of the rain finding this restaurant cozy and inviting. We had good service and delicious meals - veal for my husband and a pasta dish for myself. Seeing so many negative reviews I can say the salads were uninspired and a waste of money and the owner/manager?? seemed stressed and likewise his staff. We could sense the tension but chose to ignore the vibes and instead enjoyed the food, the decor and the strolling musician.

We had such a great experience at this restaurant. Service was great and the food was awesome. We felt like we were in Europe with the gentleman playing the accordion and singing and people cheering bravo at the end of every song. We experienced Maple pie for the first time and WOW it was so delicious that we went back the next night just for the 🥧. If you visit Quebec city you have to stop by Parmesan Restaurant for dinner or the Maple pie.

First and last visit to this restaurant. It started well as we were seated quickly despite our reservation being lost. The starters were good and arrived quickly. We then waited for over an hour (while diners who arrived after us were being served) for our main courses. Unfortunately, mine was barely warm. It had clearly been sitting for a significant length of time. I informed the water who returned the dish to the kitchen. About 15 minutes later, after my wife had finished her meal, my reheated meal was delivered with a brief apology. I saw the waiter speak with the owner/manager about the issue, but he just shrugged and ignored us. We got our bill - delivered by a junior staff member, who was apologetic, but no discount for the inconvenience or apology from the waiter or manager. Why would the owner treat customers like this?

A fun night out for the whole family. Accordion players, humorous hosts, and jokes all around. Teenage son thought it was great. Something on the menu for everyone. Bi-lingual staff took great care of us. Make a reservation. Very busy old city location is packed. Very warm inside so be sure to dress in layers so you are not uncomfortable.

The atmosphere was great people singing and someone plays the accordion. The food is ok its not the greatest. The service is on the low end. Our waiter didn't smile and wouldn't say you're welcome no matter what. Another waiter kept speaking in French even when we asked him in English over and over again. There are a lot of other restaurants to choose from.

Very unique decoration and lovely atmosphere. the staff was very welcoming. There is even a nice gentleman that goes around the table and plays the accordion. In our opinion the caprese salad was flavorless, the spaghetti bolognese was ok and the Gnocchi was very tasty. I asked for a lemonade but it was more like a sparkling juice. Overall very nice place.

Amidst the inviting ambiance of this Italian restaurant, the culinary experience fell short of expectations. The French onion soup disappointed with burnt cheese and lack of onion, while the pizza, although generous, had an overwhelming amount of sauce. The pasta, adorned with an excess of capers, felt unbalanced. Despite the culinary drawbacks, the soothing ambiance created a pleasant dining atmosphere. A highlight of the evening was the skillful performance by the accordionist, adding a touch of musical delight to the overall experience.

They warned us before they sat us down: there will be a long wait after your order due to being short staffed. We waited quite awhile for our food, but it was worth it because the food was delicious. And during our wait, the waitress brought us baskets of bread and our drinks. The owner was going from table to table making sure everyone was happy and there was an accordion player playing by request. He played Sweet Caroline and half the restaurant was singing along. The decor was also something to look at, Knick-knacks and photos everywhere.

Nice friendly place close to historical attractions. Loved the decor in the restaurant. There was a dude walking around playing the harmonica. Overall, great vibes.

This place was absolutely amazing!! It is NO wonder it has been around for 50 years! The owner, the staff, the atmosphere, the music, the decorations, the quality and speed of the food were magnificient!! Even the price was great! This place is way better food and service than places with higher ratings.. This place deserves 6 stars!! Will 100% return here on our next trip!

Food was outstanding and accordion player added great atmosphere. The Veal was great, the linguine outstanding and pasta delicious. The prices are high but it is worth it. Really like the room dedicated to Gillea Villenueve. It is refreshing to see a family owned restaurant open to the same owner for so long. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Nice atmosphere and staff. Live music. Food is good, but the presentation of the dishes could be better. Also, when I ordered espresso, I was given regular coffee in an espresso cup instantly. C'mon you can't make two espressos and bring them to the table in 20 sec. What an Italian restaurant it is if I can't get the real espresso?

Seafood is absolutely fantastic. Dessert is delightful The only thing: let the waiter know that the main dishes can be served separately. One of my friend ordered duck breast but it was already cold when it get served together with our seafood; should have had hers on sooner.

We had an amazing time @ Parmesan! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was excellent, and the service was exceptional. We went for a birthday dinner for two and the staff there made it a night to remember. We look forward to returning when we're back in town 😊

Glad to get a place without reservation. Service rushed. Busy but lively atmosphere. Food incredibly pricey. Poorest salad given me in many a place. 2 rolls of cannelloni cost circa 33 $ ,bread was hard and unedited. Singer with accordion was a real crooner.

Good was great - veal parm and mussels. Took and hour and 15 minutes for food to arrive. They were crowded, but why seat more than you can serve? Hire more cooks instead of the accordion player who didn't seem to know all the words to Volare. To the water server who honestly told me it would be 15 minutes more - thank you. Sorry your boss told you to come back and tell me 5 minutes like the waitress also told me. Photos show how much the candle burned down while waiting!

Most amazing experience of my life. Really friendly service along with great food. We didn't want to leave our table, we could have stayed all night. The accordion player was fantastic and Friendly. We enjoying chatting with him and listening to his songs. Everyone should try to visit this restaurant!

Nice atmosphere, live music. Service is decent. This place has very high volume of customers. Somehow the staff managed to be friendly, pretty impressive. Everything goes very quick. Its a good thing for being fast. Food is really average. Veal cutlet is good. That’s the only highlight.

  • 3/5 Crystal A. 1 year ago on Google
Small little Italian restaurant with a ton of stuff all over the walls for you to look at while you dine. And when I say small, I mean small.. they even have clear dividers on the tables so they can seat people next to you to make use of as much space as possible. The food was just “ok” in my opinion but the service was fast and friendly and I really appreciated that after a long day of sightseeing

What an incredible experience. During our week in Old Quebec City, we tried numerous places for food. This one tops them all. Amazing food. The staff were all extremely friendly (and all spoke English, which is awesome because we don’t speak a word of French). The service was quick. The atmosphere was authentic Italian, from the decor, to the very talented musicians. We highly recommend this place.
