Espresso Drinks 4/10 Food - Location 8/10 Ambiance 6/10 Staff Friendliness 4/10 Study/Work Friendly 4/10 This is a review of their espresso drinks only. The barista who made my flat white steamed my milk close to a boiling temperature and poured it as if it was milk poured on a black coffee. The milk tasted burnt. I had to ask for another one and I got slightly better but still terrible drink that a capsule espresso machine would have beaten its taste. The espresso shot tasted earthy with a very undesirable bitterness and yet with a very diluted body I wouldn’t come again

You can’t go wrong with La Maison Smith. They have 3 excellent locations in old town… great coffee, great variety, lovely staff. This one is super busy with the crowds from the hotels, but they work fast while keeping the high quality of everything.

Decent coffee and croissants! Little garden in the back is nice and quiet. Located in a cool old part of town but lots of construction!

Bad service by this girl, short, wearing glasses, who took the payment from me for a cup of brewed coffee, then walked away without returning with my coffee. I stood by the pick up counter right by the cashier for about 5 min, there were 6 female staff chatting away while I was waiting for my coffee. No customers were waiting by the pick up counter and no one in line. She just walked around behind the counter, making a drink for herself, and I waited and waited thinking perhaps they have to brew a new pot of coffee. Finally, I called another staff who was sitting behind the counter by the cashier to ask if coffee is ready because it didn't look like she was making a new pot of coffee at all. I explained to another staff that the person who took my money just walked away, and I've been waiting here for quite some time. She then asked what kind of coffee I want, turned around and poured coffee from the pump carafe right behind the cashier til. No apologies for the wait or mix up. I bought macarons yesterday evening and service was normal. Today it was a joke.

It's a coffee shop. So it's very busy, especially when we visit. But the 2 baristas the day we went were able to quickly & effectively complete orders for probably about 20 people with grace. It was impressive!

Very nice coffee in a cute spot. They have milk alternatives but don’t charge extra. They use high quality oat milk. Their dairy-free food selection is limited to an oat cookie, oat bar and vegan pizza

Love this place! We visited Quebec City last year and hit this coffee spot twice. When arriving this weekend it was one of our first stops! It is by far one of the best iced lattes we’ve been able to find here after many attempts. Staff is always friendly and baked goods look decent but have never tried them. Small inside but I believe they may have an outdoor terrace/patio area you can enjoy on the warmer days .

Wicked cute coffee shop. Hot chocolate and mocha were great! The croissant was huge and delicious! The staff was kinda friendly, didn't seem thrilled I asked for jam. Someone was there replacing the seat tops and made my husband get up so they could replace the one he was on instead of waiting until we were done. Overall food and drinks were good atmosphere and staff okay. 4/5

Nice and cozy place. The coffee is delicious! I ordered a flat white and a croissant that ended up being HUGE (and loved every part of it). There’s also a couple of tables outside if you’d like to enjoy your breakfast there as well. I liked this location very much and will probably be back

Visited this shop 3 times while on vacation. The London fog was very good and the almond croissant was excellent. The cafe has a nice atmosphere with seating inside and on a patio.

Very nice ambiance and atmosphere. Nice outside patio and indoor space, really nice to study at! Coffee tasted very rich and was nicely warmed. Pastries was tasty, but wished there was a toasted option available. Otherwise, I would love to come here the next time I’m in Québec! Would definitely recommend :) ☕️

Such a sweet and friendly venue! The three women working behind the counter were a great team and did a super job serving everyone! My mochacinno was the best I have ever had and my husband’s Canadiano was delicious too! Loved our chocolate croissant! Will definitely return!

Went for the first time to grab a coffee. Grabbed a latte. I always take mine with oat milk but they didn’t have anymore left. Switched to skim milk. Coffee was good but not amazing 7/10. But I have to give them some credit for their pastries 9/10. Took a chocolate/almond 🥐. Worth it! Also very nice design inside & outside. Coffee shop is really well located 9.5/10

First café Smith we tried during our trip to Quebec. We needed a quick stop before checking in to our hotel and it turns out this place was near and open. Great place to stop for a quick coffee and grab a bite. Small and cute spot.

Great coffee and vibes. We had almond croissant, raisin chocolate pastry and americano. You can purchase beans here as well.

We really needed a place to eat and found this place by chance after being rejected by restaurants because it was late. The staff were really friendly and the sandwiches hit the spot. They heat it up for you and because it is in a container, it was still warm when we got back to our hotel. Solid sandwiches!

Very good iced coffee, their best seller is the salted caramel one and it was delicous...not too sweet with a hint of thr caramel. I got the regular iced coffee and wished they had simple syrup they could add to sweeten it rather than sugar since it doesn't dissolve properly.

Amazing breakfast! We had caramel coffee, almond croissant, pudding and veggie sandwich. All of them were great. Very helpful staff. Best part they heat the food before serving. Cute backyard to sit in and eat too.

Bread pudding, croquet monsieur and waffles were all good. The chocolate croissant was not crispy as expect and the chocolate inside was about as much as a Hershey kiss for size comparison purposes. Communication on drinks was awful and not just with us other customers looking confused trying to figure out if the drink served was theirs. Another customer took one of our double shots in error and while the customer apologized the staff should have known the customer grabbed the wrong drink. They did make us another double shot and it was excellent.

I'm not a huge fan of high-top-only seating but the London Fog I got was really good and they had an awesome selection of pastries and macarons.

Almond Croissant was great. Vegan Wrap was bland and I hope it had more veggies. Drinks were decent, and Location is exceptional. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall a great place.

Coffee quality was good but barista did not know how to steam milk. Ordered a cappuccino that turned out to be basically a shot of espresso with milk bubbles on top. The barista was highly distracted and inattentive, we had to ask her several times to confirm the drink she called out. Won’t be returning or recommending this cafe to anyone else. I saw a similar review a week ago, and the cafe responded to it saying they would address it to meet their quality standards. I can confirm they have not addressed these issues yet.

We loved the lemon pie and quiche leonnaire. The Mocha coffee was good. The spritz was new but okish. We liked the visit. Will come again for a nice little coffee during the walk

My husband and I were in Quebec City for a weekend getaway. We were looking for a place to grab a quick bite and coffee and stopped by Café La Maison Smith. The staff were incredibly friendly, polite, quick and efficient. I must say they have the best mochas and almond croissants! We loved it so much that we went again the next day before heading back home. I wish they had locations in Ontario especially Ottawa! I can't wait to go back as I've never had an almond croissant and mocha like I did at Cafe La Maison Smith!
