This restaurant was highly recommended from a waitress we dined at from a previous night. This is where the local people dine. You will not be disappointed eating here. From a warm welcome from the manager to all the staff. The food presentation along with being locally sourced is prepared to the highest standard . Each dish was full of amazing flavours that will satisfy you ,craving for more.

Lucky enough to find La Bonne Etoile on our first night in Quebec City. Everything Kaitlin said in her review and more. Service was excellent. Perfect guidance through the Quebec wine list. The menu does no justice to the food. It is absolute art the way the chef’s curate and execute this. I’m coming back to Quebec just to eat here!

This is very charming and cosy. I loved the look of the restaurant. The food was great, refine and tasty. The cocktails were also very good. All products are from Quebec.

I experienced my first tasting menu last night .... it was truly a pleasure to the eye and the stomach. I loved the philosophy that the restaurant has adapted ... using ingredients only available in Quebec. They are only open 4 months of the year. There were 7 courses, lots of vegetables presented in the most unusual way (cucumber sorbet, zucchini strips with melon, beet puree, cauliflower couscous, etc, etc.). The arctic char was probably my favourite. All the courses arrived at the table beautifully presented sometimes on lovely pressed glass plates, or lovely ceramic dishes (that I wanted to go buy). Service was attentive, but not rushed. The restaurant had an antique ambiance ... exposed beams, tin ceiling, hard wood floors, with accents of Quebec folklore here and there. It was maybe a little loud at times, but that could have been the noise generated at our table? I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Outstanding! The best dinner we have had in a long time. We luckily stumbled upon this gem on our first trip to Quebec city. The atmosphere was rustic yet polished. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The food was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Each dish was well-crafted with unique, exciting, and well-balanced flavors. We also loved how everything was local, even the lovely red wine we had from Vingoble Ste. Petronille. I would definitely go back again and again.

The food was delicious, full of innovative flavors, super fresh and local ingredients, healthy and light. The service and overall experience could have been a bit more refined to match the food. First of all, there is no way of knowing if you’re at the right place when you show up to the address. I’m all for speakeasy-style hidden dining experiences but you need some way to know you’re in the right place. The walk through the kitchen to the restaurant is cool but then it just feels like you’re in a whole other restaurant with its own front door. Why not just tell folks to use that door? Our waitress was perfectly nice and the food runners knowledgeable but everything felt a bit slow and clunky. I’ll go back for the food and hope the service has worked out its kinks.

We enjoyed an extraordinary menu yesterday with friends at La Bonne Étoile. Everything is delicious, tasty, delectable. We opted for the tasting menu and it is simply WOW! Everything is perfect, the atmosphere, the service and the undeniable talent of the chefs! We can't wait to go back to experience the month of September. The photos are from the July 2019 menu. Another delight for the palate

Excellent experience at this pop-up restaurant! The food is out of this world, the sharing menu is incredible. The service is excellent throughout the meal. To try at least once, if not every month for the wealthiest 😉 if the monthly menu is chosen, with an alcoholic beverage the bill still rises to $90 for one person.

👍 We were there for lunch and there was no lineup. We ordered the croissant sandwiches and coffee, both are freshly made. Highly recommend. Staff are very helpful to suggest food from the menu.
